It was a celebration of the best in film and television Sunday night at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards.

The ceremony, which took place in Los Angeles’ Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel, was hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler, who took over the reigns from Taye Diggs who hosted to show for the previous four years.

This year’s ceremony was a little less star-studded due to several celebrities testing positive for Covid-19. Among those were Colin Farrell, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Everything Everywhere All at Once dominated the film categories, taking home five awards for the night including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan‘s role. In the television categories, Better Call Saul came out on top with three wins, including Best Drama Series, and Bob Odenkirk‘s win for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

Lisa Marie Presley, who died Thursday at 54 years old, will be laid to rest at her father’s famous estate, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee.

A rep for Mad Max: Fury Road co-star Riley Keough, one of Lisa Marie’s children, confirmed to ABC News that Presley’s final resting place will be “next to her beloved son Ben,” Riley’s brother, who died by suicide in 2020.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage, one of Presley’s four husbands, memorialized her to Yahoo Entertainment on Friday: “Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken. I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin.”

Also expressing his condolences was Elvis director Baz Luhrmann.

On Instagram, he posted a photo of that film’s King, Austin Butler, and Lisa Marie laughing. “Over the last year, the entire Elvis movie family and I have felt the privilege of Lisa Marie’s kind embrace,” the filmmaker began.

He continued, “Her sudden, shocking loss has devastated people all around the world. I know her fans everywhere join me in sharing prayers of love and support with her mother, Priscilla, and her wonderful daughters Riley, Finley and Harper.”

Luhrmann concluded, “Lisa Marie, we will miss your warmth, your smile, your love.”

Embattled The Flash star Ezra Miller was given a year of administrative probation and was ordered to pay a $500 fine after pleading guilty to his May 1, 2022, theft of liquor from a home close to his own in Vermont.

The actor, who was charged in August for the crime, pleaded guilty on Thursday, and Deadline noted Superior Court Judge Kerry A. McDonald-Cady accepted a deal for a reduced sentence. Miller was only charged with unlawful trespass, but had been previously charged with burglary and petit larceny.

Miller appeared in person for the proceedings at the courthouse in Bennington, Vermont, Friday morning.

Count 1 of burglary into an occupied dwelling potentially carried a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison, a fine of up to $1,000 or both. The second count of petit larceny, potentially carried a penalty of up to one year of confinement, up to $1,000 or both. Trespassing also carried a potential jail sentence, but Miller will avoid any time behind bars.

The break-in was Miller’s latest instance of questionable behavior, which previously included choking a female fan, and arrests for harassment and assault in Hawaii.

Miller, who uses they/them pronouns, said back in August they were now seeking treatment for “complex mental health issues” and wanted “to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with [their] past behavior.”

Paramount+ has announced that another Oscar winner has joined Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldaña in Taylor Sheridan‘s spy series The Lioness: Morgan Freeman.

According to the streaming service, the show from the Yellowstone and Tulsa King creator is based on a real-life CIA program and, “follows Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.”

Freeman will play Edwin Mullins, the United States Secretary of State, according to the streamer.

As reported, Kidman will play CIA senior supervisor Kaitlyn Meade, who, “must juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community, a wife who longs for the attention she herself can’t even give, and a mentor to someone veering suspiciously close to the same rocky road she’s found herself on.”

Avatar series star Saldaña will play Joe, “the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives.”

Kidman will also serve as an executive producer on the series.

Nick Viall has handed out his final rose. The Bachelor alum is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Natalie Joy.

The lovebirds shared the news in a joint Instagram post Thursday evening, alongside a carousel of photos showing off the stunning engagement ring.

They captioned the post, “For the rest of my life, it’s you.”

The comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages, including some from fellow Bachelor stars like Becca Tilley, who wrote, “Congratulations! So happy for you both!”

The engagement announcement comes about a week after Viall hinted that a proposal could be near.

“Anything is possible, I think. The sky’s the limit for us in 2023,” The Viall Files host told Life & Style on January 7. Natalie added, “Fingers crossed.”

Nick and Natalie were first linked in 2020, and went public the following year. Nick opened up about his relationship on an episode of The Viall Files podcast.

“It’s fun. It’s great. I’m super happy,” he said in February 2021, later sharing that the two met online. “She slid into my DMs. It was very romantic.”

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Jamie Lee Curtis may have missed out on a Golden Globe for Everything Everywhere All at Once on Tuesday, but she apparently didn’t go home empty-handed.

The Halloween series star posted to Instagram three positive COVID-19 tests and explained that because of it, she is forced to miss some upcoming award shows at which the movie is nominated.

“F*** COVID!” began the actress.

“Sadly, this head cheerleader is not going to be at all the weekend festivities cheering on her friends and colleagues. Life on life’s terms,” she continued.

“I’m glad that there are all these home tests available so that I didn’t go to the @americanfilminstitute lunch and spread my germs. I was SO looking forward to going to the @bafta tea and the @criticschoice awards as a nominee and member of a motley crew!”

She concluded of her Everything Everywhere colleagues, “I’m so proud of these people, and I look forward to cheering them on through my TV set. Stay safe out there people.”

Kevin Spacey is facing an additional seven charges in the U.K.

According to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the charges stem from sexual offenses against one man between 2001 and 2004. They include three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

Spacey, 63, previously pleaded not guilty to five other charges of sexual assault in a London court back in July. The charges stem from claims by three men that Spacey had sexually assaulted them in England almost 20 years ago.

Last month, Spacey was found not liable in a civil sexual abuse trial brought by actor Anthony Rapp. Rapp had accused the actor of climbing on top of him at a party when he was 14 and Spacey was 26.

Jamie Lynn Spears and the Pacific Coast High gang are back in a sequel to the popular 2000’s Nickelodeon sitcom Zoey 101, heading to Paramount+.

Tentatively titled Zoey 102, the full-length original movie will reunite Spears with most of the show’s original cast members — including Erin Sanders, Sean Flynn, Matthew Underwood, Christopher Massey, Abby Wilde and Jack Salvatore — “as they reunite for a wedding in the present day,” according to the streamer.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be back alongside my PCA family and continue the story of Zoey and all the characters fans know and love. As an executive producer, it’s been an exciting opportunity to work with such incredible talent as well as Paramount+ and Nickelodeon,” said Spears in a statement.

The original series, which ran for four seasons from 2005-2008, followed Zoey Brooks as she enrolled in Pacific Coast Academy, a school that previously only allowed boys to attend.

Zoey 102 is set to stream on Paramount+ later this year.

Grumpy Tom Hanks is now out there for the whole country to see — his new movie, A Man Called Otto, opens wide this weekend.

Hanks plays a guy who just really doesn’t like other people. And the man known as the nicest guy in Hollywood tells ABC Audio he loved exploring his nasty side.

“What you get to do in the course of playing a guy like Otto is you get to be right all the time. That’s the thing I like the best,” he explains.

“Look, there’s righteous fury and there’s also righteous crankiness,” adds Hanks. “You’ve been in this circumstance where you probably said, you know, ‘you can’t park there. Hey, you can’t park there.’ In which case, you’ve called out your inner Otto because there is a right way to do things. And if everybody understands the right way, well, then things go well.”

The two-time Oscar winner also reveals that, in spite of his nice-guy persona, he’s always “a nanosecond away” from getting angry.

“If you are in front of me and you turn without using your turn signal, you don’t turn on your blinker? Oh, dude, I love using that salty language, particularly when I’m in a car alone by myself,” he shares. “And it always starts with, ‘Oh, thanks for the turn signal.’ And then I go on for a little bit farther after that, you know. Not exactly the PG rating of Otto. Might get a little X-rated there.”
