Having famously said “The answer was always no and a respectful, firm, no” regarding a return to the role of Samantha Jones that made her a Sex and the City icon, ABC News has confirmed that Kim Cattrall will be seen in the upcoming season of the sequel series And Just Like That… .

The character has been spoken of, and spoken and texted to, by Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Carrie Bradshaw on the Max series, which ended its first season with Carrie calling her one-time bestie ahead of a visit to bury the hatchet.

Sources say Cattrall’s reappearance took even crew members by surprise: She wasn’t mentioned on the call sheet and arrived under similarly hush-hush conditions to shoot, suggesting her appearance could be part of a cliff-hanger to bait season 2 viewers into watching a season 3.

Officially, Max — the newly rebranded streamer on which the second season will air — is mum.

Much has been made of a feud between SJP and Cattrall over the years since a deal for a third film fell apart.

Kim didn’t hesitate to put the blame on Parker’s side of the fence, telling Piers Morgan in 2017 she’s “never been friends” with Parker and the rest of her onscreen girl squad, adding of Parker, “She could have been nicer.”

Parker, for her part, denied any kind of a “catfight” between them back in 2018 to Page Six.

A Los Angeles jury has found former That ’70s Show actor Danny Masterson guilty of two counts of forcible rape in a retrial of a case involving three women.

The third count involving Jane Doe 3 has been declared a mistrial.

The jury reached its verdict Wednesday afternoon after deliberating since May 17.

Masterson, 47, pleaded not guilty to three counts of felony rape following accusations by three different women, including a former girlfriend. The alleged attacks took place between 2001 and 2003.

He faced 45 years to life in prison if convicted on all three charges.

The first trial ended in a mistrial in November 2022, with the jury deadlocked and unable to reach a verdict.

The three alleged victims were members of the Church of Scientology, as is Masterson. All three women said they were initially hesitant to speak to law enforcement because church teachings discouraged reporting to police. The women eventually left the church.

Masterson, who was arrested in 2020, said each of the encounters was consensual. That ’70s Show was still on the air at the time of all three alleged rapes.

Indiana Jones and the legacy of Harrison Ford

Esquire/Ruvén Afanador

In a lengthy new interview with Esquire, Harrison Ford delves into well-known territory — how he got his role as Han Solo in Star Wars, for example — and deeper stuff, like what kind of a dad he thinks he is and how he’d like to be remembered.

Ford, who will turn 81 on July 13 — a couple of weeks after his final Indiana Jones movie hits theaters — is famously guarded, but shares some interesting tidbits about his life.

Like how his friend Jimmy Buffett helped snag him a boat to live on off the coast of Belize while filming 1986’s The Mosquito Coast.

Or his response to a “disappointed” Elton John when he told his fellow icon he would never write an autobiography. “I said, ‘I didn’t want to tell the truth … But I didn’t want to lie, either.'”

A pilot for 28 years, Ford enthused about aviation: “I will not be buried under a stone that says ‘actor’. For me, flying is as important a part of my life as my business. It’s not like playing golf.”

With shades of his role on Apple TV+’s Shrinking as a therapist whose daughter moves away because her parents are too busy, Ford admits, “I can tell you this: If I’d been less successful, I’d probably be a better parent.”

Ford says he “owns” his flaws, adding, “And certainly the more constant gardener is the better parent, and I’ve been out of town, up my own a** for most of my life.”

Ford is a father of five: Benjamin, 56, and Willard, 54, from his marriage to ex-wife Mary Marquardt; Malcolm, 35, and Georgia, 32, from his marriage to the late E.T. screenwriter Melissa Mathison; and Liam Flockhart Ford, 21, the adopted son of his wife, Calista Flockhart.

Sam Neill, the actor beloved for his role as paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films, is digging into his archives for a good cause.

“My Jurassic Park boots, along with my Jurassic World hat, scarf, shirt, and jacket are up for auction at Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on 28th June,” the actor announced.

Going on the block are the aforementioned Timberland boots, estimated to fetch anywhere from $6,000 to $12,000. “These boots were made for kicking dinosaurs, in the words of the old song. And indeed they did, in the first Jurassic Park. I ran for miles in them,” Neill comments.

The shirt could fetch between $4,000 and $8,000, while Grant’s handkerchief, which he wore around his neck onscreen, is estimated to sell for $2,000 to $4,000. However, in any Hollywood memorabilia auction, these and other items often sell for more than they’re estimated when the hammer finally falls.

Neill explains, “These items are utterly unique, possibly even iconic if you’re a fan. Most importantly, the full proceeds will go towards helping support refugee children through the vital and incredible work of UNICEF UK.”

Neill’s charitable contributions aside, the auction will feature a treasure trove of other props, wardrobe pieces, scripts, and signage from iconic films like Alien and Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, to newer classics like 300 and 3:10 to Yuma.

Ryan Gosling dug deep into the shallow end to play Ken in ‘Barbie’

Warner Bros. Pictures

(NOTE LANGUAGE) In a wide-ranging interview with GQ, Ryan Gosling talks about his career, his family life and the hype around playing Ken in Barbie.

The 42-year-old actor says of the famously insignificant other to the titular doll, “Ken, his job is beach.”

He adds, “For 60 years, his job has been beach. What the f*** does that even mean?”

Still, the dad to two doll-playing daughters with Eva Mendes brought some real-world experience to the role. “I did see him [a Ken], like, face down in the mud outside one day, next to a squished lemon,” the actor recalls, “and it was like, this guy’s story does need to be told, you know?”

Gosling said he “touched base” with his kid performer self to bring the plastic himbo to life. “There’s something about this Ken that really, I think, relates to that version of myself,” he admits.

“Just, like, the guy that was putting on [MC] Hammer pants and dancing at the mall and smelling like Drakkar Noir and Aqua Net-ing bangs. I owe that kid a lot.”

Like Ken, The New Mickey Mouse Club version of Gosling “didn’t know what he was doing or why he was doing it, he was just doing it.”

He also says it’s “funny” that online snarkers complained of his casting. “This kind of clutching-your-pearls idea of, like, #notmyken. Like you ever thought about Ken before this?” he asks.

“But suddenly, it’s like, ‘No, we’ve cared about Ken this whole time.’ No, you didn’t. You never did … If you ever really cared about Ken, you would know that nobody cared about Ken. So your hypocrisy is exposed.”

He adds, “This is why his story must be told.”

Barbie opens July 21.

Another Godfather star is going to be a father again.

Al Pacino, 83, is expecting his fourth child with his 29-year-old girlfriend Noor Alfallah, ABC Audio has confirmed.

A rep for the Oscar winner noted no other statement has been made about the development.

According to TMZ, Alfallah is eight months along.

Pacino is already a father to 33-year-old Julie with Jan Tarrant, and twins Olivia and Anton, both 22, with Beverly D’Angelo.

This news of course comes weeks after Pacino’s Heat co-star and former fellow Godfather saga lead, 79-year-old Robert De Niro, confirmed the birth of his seventh child. De Niro welcomed daughter Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, his first with girlfriend Tiffany Chen, on April 6.

(A previous version of this story published on 5/31 erroneously had Pacino’s age listed as 82. The text above has been updated to correct the error.)

On Wednesday, Amazon Studios released the cloak-and-dagger trailer to the fourth and final season of its Prime Video series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.

John Krasinski returns as Ryan, now the acting deputy director of the CIA, who “uncovers a series of suspicious black ops that could expose the vulnerability of the country,” according to the streaming service.

“As Jack and the team investigate how deep the corruption runs, he discovers a far-worse reality—the convergence of a drug cartel with a terrorist organization—ultimately revealing a conspiracy much closer to home and testing our hero’s belief in the system he has always fought to protect.”

In the trailer, Ryan warns, “They can move anything. Humans. Weapons. Suicide bombers. Unlimited resources paired with undying hatred.”

Wendell Pierce returns as Ryan’s ally James Greer, and the new season has veteran character actor Michael Peña joining the cast as Domingo “Ding” Chavez, a fan favorite special operator ripped from the pages of the late Clancy’s books. Ryan recruits him to help crack the case by any means necessary.

The final season starts June 30 on Prime Video, with two episodes premiering each Friday, leading to the series finale on July 14.

Neil Patrick Harris judges in Hulu’s new series ‘Drag Me to Dinner’

As legislation pops up around the country meant to limit access to drag shows, a new drag show debuts Wednesday on Hulu. It’s called Drag Me to Dinner, starring Neil Patrick Harris as a judge and executive producer.

So what’s the show about?

“Two pairs of drag queens, each in full drag regalia, trying to desperately prepare food and drink and entertainment for themed dinner parties,” Harris explains, adding, “you’d be a fool not to want to observe the shenanigans.”

Observing the shenanigans is what Harris says is a great way to open people’s minds about drag.

“Opinions about drag sometimes come from lack of observation or experience,” he shares. “And I think Drag Me to Dinner provides a great fun view into how they behave in a positive light way that might indoctrinate people into it in a way that they weren’t expecting.”

Even though it’s great exposure, Harris’ partner, David Burtka, also an executive producer, says it’s not a show meant for kids.

“Your 7-year-old shouldn’t be watching this, you know. It’s for a more of an adult crowd, so use your discretion,” says Burtka.

Nonetheless, the show’s host, transgender comedian Murray Hill, says that now is the perfect time for a show like this.

“During this time of like fearmongering, you know, it’s very important to literally just show queer people and drag people living, laughing, joyous lives,” Hill expresses. “And to show that we’re just all people first.”

Harris agrees, explaining, “I’ve never been to a drag show where everyone wasn’t cheering and laughing and smiling and dancing, and the positivity really shines through. So if we can help represent that to people who haven’t seen it, I think that’s a fantastic thing.”
