It’s time to “Dance the Night” at the Hollywood Bowl.

Barbie The Movie: In Concert is coming to the iconic venue on July 27, Variety reports. The event will feature a live-to-film music experience from the Barbie Land Sinfonietta, which is a special presentation from orchestrator Macy Schmidt‘s all-women, majority women-of-color orchestra.

The immersive experience is dubbing itself one of a kind. During the performance, Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie will be projected on a huge LED screen above the Barbie Land Sinfonietta as they perform alongside the film’s score. Fans will also hear the songs from the film’s soundtrack, including Billie Eilish‘s Grammy-winning “What Was I Made For?,” Dua Lipa‘s “Dance the Night” and Ryan Gosling‘s “I’m Just Ken.” The event will also feature limited-edition merchandise and exclusive photo opportunities, among other offerings.

“Audiences of all ages flocked to theaters last summer to celebrate the joy of the Barbie movie together,” Josh Silverman, chief franchise officer at Mattel, said. “Now fans have the opportunity to further celebrate Barbie with an unforgettable live musical experience, led by an incredibly talented all-women orchestra.”

Schmidt said, “We’re honored to announce Barbie The Movie: In Concert™ in partnership with the world-famous Hollywood Bowl and Mattel. There’s nothing quite like the energy of the Bowl, and to bring the world-class women musicians of the Barbie Land Sinfonietta to such an iconic venue feels like a perfect match.”

Single tickets for Barbie The Movie: In Concert go on sale on May 7.

Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira stepped out in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening for the premiere of their forthcoming spinoff series, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, and some of the flagship series’ original co-stars were there to cheer them on.

Steven Yeun, who played Glenn Rhee on the apocalypse drama, posed for pictures with Lincoln and Gurira, who reprise, respectively, as Rick Grimes and his love Michonne in the new show, debuting February 25 on AMC and AMC+.

Glenn met his end in season 7 back in 2016. Yeun went on to earn an Oscar nomination for Minari, in addition to his accolades for Beef.

Another casualty of The Walking Dead, Chandler Riggs, was on the red carpet; he played Rick’s son Carl Grimes until his character’s death in season 8.

Norman Reedus, who recently wrapped his own TWD spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, was also there to show his support at the premiere and a post-screening afterparty.

AMC calls The Ones Who Live “an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were.”

The network teases, “Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?”

The new series also stars Pollyanna McIntosh, Lesley-Ann Brandt and Terry O’Quinn, among others.

GEICO’s gecko gets the full documentary treatment

The insurance company GEICO is doing something a little different to advertise: It has turned documentary cameras on the life of its spokes-gecko.

Legend of the Lizard: The Full Never-Before-Seen Story of the GEICO Gecko is a 14-minute look into the early days of the lovable green character, introducing us to everyone from the English auntie who raised him — hence his accent — to his high school football coach.

Despite the absurd premise, the doc is played completely straight, with lifelong friends, work colleagues and other associates weighing in on how Gecko inspired them, saved relationships and, of course, saved them money on insurance.

But it wasn’t always easy. “He didn’t ask for this fame,” one associate comments.

“It’s not easy being a lizard in a man’s world. With success, there’s always someone out there trying to scale you down,” warns a man playing “childhood best friend” Jacob Lowden.

There’s also an appearance from GEICO’s other spokesman, the Caveman, who seems a little envious of the lizard’s fame.

The company will be promoting the doc on Super Bowl Sunday, but it can be found in full on YouTube.

Just two days after the death of a crew member on Marvel’s Wonder Man TV show, a GoFundMe for the family of Juan Carlos “Spike” Osorio has raised more than $150,000 and counting.

Osorio, 41, died Tuesday after an apparent fall from a catwalk at Radford Studios in Studio City, California.

His friend Bill Martel started the campaign, stating, “On February 6th, 2024, our friend Spike lost his life on the set of Marvels WonderMan [sic] shoot … due to a potential structural failure.”

While organizers are “hoping” the facility and the show’s producers handle things “properly” in the wake of the incident, “We …expect a long road fraught with attorney fees and expenses,” the message continues.

“In the mean time [sic], bills will be mounting and the widow, Boom Operator Joanne W. will be left to deal with everything. Help if you’re able, it’s greatly appreciated,” Martell concludes.

While there were many smaller donations among the 1,300 listed as of press time, a significant few were in the hundreds of dollars. One anonymous donor kicked in $10,000.

In the wake of the accident, Osorio’s union, the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), released a statement from its president, Matthew D. Loeb. “Everyone in the IA family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic loss,” he began.

Loeb pledged support to the victim’s family, adding, “Safety on set is our highest priority and we will assist Cal/OSHA in their investigation in any way that we can.”

As reported, Marvel Studios offered its “thoughts and deepest condolences” and pledged its support of the investigation into the incident.

Wonder Man will have Aquaman franchise villain Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the lead role.

Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.

Paramount+ released the trailer to Knuckles, the live-action/animated spinoff series from the “cinematic world of Sonic the Hedgehog” on Thursday.

As on the big screen, Idris Elba voices the titular animated Echidna bruiser, who takes on Adam Pally‘s hapless human Wade as his protégé and trains him in the ways of the warrior.

It’s not a good fit, to say the least.

“What do you like to do for fun?” Pally asks him. “Vengeance,” Knuckles answers.

“I was thinking more like reading or yoga,” the human suggests, to which Idris’ character growls in disappointment.

The streaming service teases that the six-part series dropping Friday, April 26, is “a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery” as Knuckles makes good on his vow to protect the Earth.

Unfortunately for his human friends, evil acolytes of Jim Carrey‘s Dr. Robotnik threaten Knuckles and his adopted world, forcing him into action.

The series also stars Sonic cast members Ben Schwartz as the lovable hedgehog and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails the fox. Tika Sumpter also reprises as their human pal Maddie.

Other guest stars include Stockard Channing, Edi Patterson from The Righteous Gemstones, Ted Lasso‘s Ellie Taylor, Carey Elwes from The Princess Bride and Back to the Future icon Christopher Lloyd.

Ryan Gosling says he hasn’t been asked yet to perform at the Oscars, but he’s not opposed to it.

“I still have not been asked,” he said in an interview with Variety. “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it. I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it.”

Gosling, who is Oscar nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Ken in Barbie, sang the Kens’ anthem in the film, “I’m Just Ken,” which was written and produced by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. The song is also Oscar nominated for Best Original Song.

Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell also snagged an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for “What Was I Made For,” also from Barbie.

In total, Barbie garnered eight nominations ahead of the 96th Academy Awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay for Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach and Actress in a Supporting Role for America Ferrera.

Gosling credits the film’s success to Gerwig and Margot Robbie, who played Barbie in the movie.

“They had a vision for it,” Gosling said. “They believed it. And they believed I should do it more than I believed I shouldn’t.”

“At a certain point, I thought, ‘They see something that I don’t see,'” he added. “I thought it was such a great part that anyone could play it: I understand now, but it took me a while.”

Disney+ is in its Eras era.

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) will debut on the platform and stream exclusively on March 15. This new version of the movie will include five new songs not featured in any of the previous iterations of the concert film.

“The Eras Tour has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively on Disney+,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said.

The folklore song “cardigan” will finally be available to stream in this complete version of the concert film, alongside four additional acoustic songs.

Taylor Swift filmed the top-grossing concert film of all time over the August 3, 4 and 5 show dates during her stop in Los Angeles last year.

One can likely expect the four additional acoustic songs in this version of the concert film to be pulled from the other surprise songs she performed over those dates: “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault),” “Maroon,” “You are in Love” and “Death by a Thousand Cuts.”
