“Keep it real, keep it kind”: Lupita Nyong’o pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman on 2-year death anniversary

Nyong’o as Nakia in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”/Marvel Studios

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o posted to Instagram a throwback video of her Black Panther co-star Chadwick Boseman on Sunday, which was the second year anniversary of his death.

Boseman was 43 when he died on August 28, 2020, following a very private battle with colon cancer.

In the video, Boseman is shown at a movie theater in front of a throng of fans of all ages.

“Chadwick, what are you doing?” Nyong’o asks off-camera as she records Boseman with a Sharpie in hand.

“I’m signing tickets. I signed somebody’s shoes over there,” he said, to laughs.

The actor joked that he didn’t know why he was asked to scribble his name on the Jordans, as he doesn’t even play basketball.

Lupita sweetly asks why he thinks people wanted his signature so much, and Boseman replied, “I have no idea.”

“Keep it real, keep it kind,” Nyong’o captioned the video.

Among the more than 151,000 and counting who “liked” the post were Jurassic World franchise actress and filmmaker Bryce Dallas Howard and Winston Duke, Boseman’s co-star in Black Panther and other Marvel movies.

“generous man,” Duke began. “always sharing [and] helping and giving and loving… ugh… my heart … Ure missed beyond any words my brother… love love!”

He added, “Thanks Lupita for posting our treasure… man oh man!”

Letitia Wright, who played Boseman’s sister Shuri in the Marvel films, responded to Lupita’s post with a string of heart emojis.

Boseman’s character T’Challa was not recast in November’s sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; instead, as the teaser hints, his family and friends are grappling with his death in the MCU — just as their alter-egos are doing in real life.

Pierre Suu/GC Images

Jennifer Lopez is speaking up about her recently leaked wedding footage.

After footage from the Marry Me star performing for her husband Ben Affleck at their Georgia wedding went public, she took to Instagram to express her disappointment.

Commenting on an Instagram fan page that shared the footage, Lopez said, “This was taken without permission. Period.”

“And whoever did it took advantage of our private moment,” she continued. “I don’t know where you all are getting it from bc we had ndas [non-disclosure agreements] and asked everyone to not share anything from our wedding.”

“That is our choice to share,” the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer wrote, before adding that any moments that she chooses to share will be published to her website OnTheJLO.

“This was stolen without our consent and sold for money. Thank you for caring I love you guys,” Lopez concluded.

The fan page has since deleted the leaked footage leaving only a screenshot of the comment.

Last month, J-Lo and Ben — who were first engaged in 2002, but called off the wedding — ran off to Las Vegas and got hitched at the Little White Wedding chapel. Last Saturday, the couple tied the knot again at Affleck’s estate in Riceboro, Georgia in front of friends and family.

Keanu Reeves gives newlyweds quite the wedding present by checking out their reception

Albert L. Ortega/Getty Images

Keanu Reeves made a U.K. couple’s wedding day even more special when he showed up at their reception.

The famously unaffected superstar was in the bar of a venue called Fawsley Hall in Northamptonshire when new groom James Roadnight spotted him and invited him to their reception there, he tells Newsweek.

Bride Nikki tells the magazine, “He was very friendly and said he would later on. We didn’t know if he would or not but it was cool that my husband had spoken to him!”

However, an hour later, a hotel worker told the bride a “very special guest” would like a word with her outside the festivities. To their shock, it was John Wick himself.

Nikki recalled, “It was all very exciting and I went to say hi and introduce myself, and I offered him a drink, but he declined that and said he’d just had a long flight so wouldn’t stay long, but he was so kind and friendly and congratulated us on our wedding.”

Keanu even posed with the couple and their wedding guests.

“My mum, Jo, took photos and shouted for everyone to yell ‘Speed‘ as she took the photo,” Nikki said, referring to Keanu’s 1994 hit.

Netflix’s workplace comedy ‘Blockbuster’ debuting November 3

Netflix/Ricardo Hubbs

Netflix has announced that a titular workplace comedy set in the country’s sole surviving Blockbuster store will debut on November 3.

WandaVision co-star Randall Park stars in the sitcom, along with Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Melissa Fumero; Park plays Timmy, “an analog dreamer living in a 5G world,” who, along with his co-worker and longtime crush Eliza (Fumero), fights to stay relevant.

“The only way to succeed is to remind their community that they provide something big corporations can’t: human connection,” Netflix teases.

The 10-episode Blockbuster series also stars J.B. Smoove from Curb Your Enthusiasm, Endlings star Kamaia Fairburn and In The Heights Olga Merediz.

For the record, the last remaining Blockbuster is still operating in Bend, Oregon — and was itself the subject of a Netflix documentary.

‘Flash’ forward? Embattled Ezra Miller reportedly took a meeting with Warner Bros. to discuss the movie’s future

ANGELA WEISS/AFP via Getty Images

After the actor’s repeated run-ins with the law, including arrests for harassment, accusations of assault, a burglary charge and more, it’s understandable Warner Bros. Discovery is nervous about its $250 million investment in the Ezra Miller-headlined The Flash.

Weeks after Batgirl, a much more moderately budgeted film by comparison, was shelved by the studio, The Hollywood Reporter notes Miller appeared at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank to take a meeting with top execs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy regarding the project’s future.

Miller, who uses they/them pronouns, recently said they were now seeking treatment for “complex mental health issues,” and wanted “to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with [their] past behavior.”

According to the trade, however, the mea culpa came after Miller learned the execs were willing to scrap the big-budget superhero film entirely.

A source told THR that Miller wasn’t particularly upset at the negative headlines they’d generated, but was willing to play ball for the sake of the Scarlet Speedster. “They care about The Flash,” the source said of Miller. “It’s one of their favorite characters to play.”

Although no parties commented officially on the sit-down, Miller was said to be “apologetic” and willing to do whatever it took to make sure the movie meets its June 23, 2023, release date.

‘Seinfeld’ star John O’Hurley on his new tech venture and how he helped buy the J. Peterman Company IRL

Susan Watts/NY Daily News Archive via Getty Images

With online fraud a multibillion-dollar threat to our connected world, a new company says it has what it takes to keep crooks from stealing your identity.

The Q5id app uses a biometric verification process that takes minutes to perform, but leads to a lifetime of protection, according to its new partner, John O’Hurley.

If the name sounds familiar, he’s the Seinfeld and Dancing with the Stars veteran who, as it turns out, really knows his stuff when it comes to online security.

“Now nobody has a better sense of identity theft than I do because I took J. Peterman‘s identity and I’m not giving it back,” he joked to ABC Audio.

“That being said, this company Q5id has, I believe, the best idea — and it’s creating a personal ID for you that you control.”

He explains you provide Q5id with a palm print, your government-issued ID, a voice sample and a retinal scan, “creating a depth of information that is absolutely irreplaceable.”

“The failure rate in this technology is one in 933 billion. So it is absolutely perfect,” he says.

Hurley later explained how his most famous role blurred the line between fantasy and reality. After Seinfeld ended, the actual J. Peterman Company expanded too rapidly and hit the skids, financially.

“They went into Chapter 11,” O’Hurley explains.

“And about six months later, I got a call from John Peterman. He said, ‘I have some investors and I’d like you to come on board with me.’ … and so I did. And so I was on the board and also an owner of the company, as well.”

He says with a laugh, “I liked the role so much I bought the company.”

“I quit”: Shia LaBeouf claims Olivia Wilde is lying about his getting “fired” from ‘Don’t Worry Darling’

ABC — Gabe Ginsberg/WireImage

In a recent Variety feature, actress-turned-director Olivia Wilde expounded on how she got Harry Styles the lead role in her new movie Don’t Worry Darling: She had to fire Shia LaBeouf.

However, the actor claims it’s not true — and he’s provided receipts to the trade as proof.

Wilde explained that while she was an “admirer” of the embattled actor’s work, “His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions.”

She commented, “He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require a combative energy … I believe that creating a safe, trusting environment is the best way to get people to do their best work.”

Further, she said she felt the need to “protect” her cast from the actor.

For his part, Shia showed Variety texts and emails reportedly sent before and after the recasting was done, and a message to her after Wilde’s feature piece broke.

“You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors and I couldn’t find time to rehearse,” the actor reportedly said.

In the email, LaBeouf alluded to his troubled past, battles with alcohol and accusations he was abusive to recording artist FKA Twigs while they were dating.

“I write to you now with 627 days of sobriety and a moral compass that never existed before my great humbling …,” he told Wilde.

“I reached out to you a few months ago to make amends; & I still pray one day, you can…forgive me for the failed collaboration we shared.”

That said, LaBeouf insisted to the director, “Firing me never took place, Olivia. And while I fully understand the attractiveness of pushing that story because of the current social landscape, the social currency that brings. It is not the truth…”
