If you’ve been champing at the bit to see Oscar winner Jordan Peele‘s directorial follow-up to his 2022 hit Nope, you’re going to have to wait until around Halloween — of 2026.

The writer-director just posted to social media the date 10/23/26 — and nothing else — about what’s next for him at the movies.

And while the movie’s a mystery, a big reason behind the release date may not be. Back in March 2023, it was said Jordan would be back at the movies with another Universal Pictures release on Dec. 25, 2024 — but that was before the dual writers and actors strikes brought Hollywood production to a standstill.

In January 2024, Peele didn’t spill any tea about the forthcoming project to Conan O’Brien on his Conan Needs a Friend podcast, but he did allow, “I do feel like my next project is clear to me, and I’m psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”

We’re waiting, Jordan.

Warner Bros. recently surprised fans of the 1998 romantic comedy Practical Magic with news it was conjuring up a sequel with Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.

Bullock’s love interest for a spell in that film, actor Mark Feuerstein, heard the news, too, and shared with ABC Audio his pitch on how he could be part of the sequel — if the leading ladies would have him.

The Royal Pains veteran recalls the events of the hit film, saying, “The aunts, who [were] played by Stockard Channing and Diane Wiest, cast a spell such that [Bullock] falls in love with me and we have a relationship. And then they cast another spell, which leads me to getting hit by a truck and killed.”

Enthusiastically, he continues, “So my feeling is they cast one more spell and I’m back in action in the sequel!”

He adds, “Come on guys. What’s wrong with that? Nicole, Sandy, let’s do this. That‘s some practical magic! It’s magic and it’s practical because, you know, I could pay for my daughter who’s going to college.”

For now, Feuerstein appears in the new MGM+ series Hotel Cocaine, which also stars Danny Pino and Michael Chiklis.

In a new interview on his friend Tyler Ramsey‘s Painful Lessons podcast, Armie Hammer opened up about his life after sex assault allegations and accusations of cannibal fantasies took a “neutron bomb” to his life and career in 2021.

Perhaps surprisingly, he says from the depths and a “half-a**ed suicide attempt” after the accusations surfaced, he is “now at a place in my life where I’m grateful for every single bit of it.”

“It was awful,” he said of the “initial chaos” of the accusations. “And I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. But for the people in my life that I truly love, I hope some version, preferably smaller than what I went through, would happen to them as well so that they could learn everything that I have learned.”

Hammer explained, “Because where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me, I didn’t feel good. I never felt satisfied. I never had enough.”

The Social Network star continued, “I never was in a place where I was happy with myself where I had self-esteem. I never knew how to give myself love [or] self-validation but I had this job where I was able to get it from so many people that I never had to learn how to give it to myself.”

A series of accusers came forward in 2021 — some producing graphic DMs purportedly from the star in which he allegedly expressed fantasies about cannibalism. He vigorously denied them at the time and checked into a recovery program.

To the podcast, Hammer said, “People called me a cannibal, and everyone believed them. … What?! You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people!”

Hammer also said “there will be a time” when he tells his side of the story.

One part of Andrew McCarthy‘s new documentary on the Brat Pack, called Brats, that some disagree with is exactly which movies are “Brat Pack movies.”

However, Hulu, on which the doc had a #1 debut, has compiled some of the core films starring the then-young ’80s stars.

1985’s St. Elmo’s Fire starring McCarthy, Emilio Estevez, Demi Moore and Judd Nelson is now on tap.

Also, there’s 1985’s Weird Science with Anthony Michael Hall and 1986’s About Last Night, starring Rob Lowe and Moore, as well as the Brat Pack adjacent ’80s classic Taps from 1981, starring Timothy Hutton, Tom Cruise and Sean Penn, and 1986’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with Matthew Broderick.

And while 1985’s The Breakfast Club starring Hall, Estevez, Judd, Ally Sheedy and Molly Ringwald isn’t available on Hulu — it’s on Netflix — there’s 1990’s Betsy’s Wedding in which the latter actress starred.

Dearest gentle readers: Patience is a virtue.

Just as fans are reveling in Season 3 of Netflix’s Bridgerton, showrunner Jess Brownell has delivered some bittersweet news: Season 4 won’t be gracing our screens for another two years.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brownell shared insights into the intricate and time-consuming process of bringing the beloved Regency-era drama to life.

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” she explained.

She added, “And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.”

A spokesperson for Netflix did not immediately respond to Good Morning America‘s request for comment.

In Brief: Martin Scorsese goes looking for shipwrecks, and more

Martin Scorsese will return to Polizzi Generosa, the Sicilian town where his grandparents were born, to film a documentary about ancient shipwrecks in the Mediterranean Sea, according to Variety. The untitled project is based on research by U.S. archaeologist Lisa Briggs, who uses scientific tools, such as DNA analysis, on artifacts recovered from ancient shipwreck sites “to reconstruct stories of ships, sailors, cargoes, and maritime trade in the ancient world,” per the outlet. Shooting is expected to begin this summer …

Deadline reports singer-actor Nick Jonas will join Adrienne Warren, the latter best known for her Tony-winning turn in the Broadway show Tina, in the first-ever Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown’s popular off-Broadway musical, The Last Five Years. Jonas and Warren will play rising author Jamie and aspiring actor Cathy, respectively, “two New Yorkers who fall in and out of love over the course of five years.” Jonas’ other theater credits include Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast, Annie Get Your Gun and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Hiram Kasten, a comedian/actor who also guest starred on a number of popular TV shows, died June 16 at his home in Batavia, New York at the age of 71, according to Deadline. A cause of death was not revealed, but Kasten’s wife tells the outlet that he had been battling “a multitude of illnesses, including prostate cancer,” for seven years. Kasten, a good friend of Jerry Seinfeld, appeared on Seinfeld’s titular sitcom as a co-worker to Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ Elaine Benes. Other guest starring roles included Mad About You, Everybody Loves Raymond, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and L.A. Law

Lena Dunham, Stephen Fry on their personal connection to ‘Treasure’

Lena Dunham stars alongside Stephen Fry in the father-daughter road trip film Treasure, in theaters now.

Set in 1990s Poland, Dunham plays American music journalist Ruth, who travels with her Holocaust survivor father Edek, played by Fry, on a journey through his homeland.

The pair spoke to ABC Audio about the personal connection they had to the story and why it was important to them to be a part of the film.

“This is the kind of film that I would have been so proud to be able to share with my grandmother,” Dunham said. “I am so proud to be able to share it with my aunts and with my great aunt, and with the people in my family who are living and who are still processing this kind of trauma.”

After reading the script, Dunham felt the story was not only deeply about being Jewish, but also deeply about being human. “I think the best stories are both personal and universal,” Dunham said.

Fry agreed, saying, “The characters leapt off the page, and I just knew who Edek was. [He was] so like my grandfather in some ways, but there were surprises in him, too. And it moved me just to read it.”

Overall, Dunham said they were interested in showing how transgenerational trauma plays out in Holocaust stories, “no matter their religious or ethnic background.”

“When families have been the victims of violence and persecution, that does not stop when the violence stops, that doesn’t even stop with the person that the violence occurred with. It continues,” Dunham said. “It was really amazing to be part of something that looked at all of that, but also did it with a measure of humor and joy, because all families contain equal measures [of] pain and joy.”

“Let’s see”: David Duchovny says he wouldn’t say no to more ‘X-Files’
ABC Audio

In a Hollywood Reporter chat about the ups and downs of his career, from the height of The X-Files to his missed chances as a box office champ, to his turns as an author and musician, David Duchovny gave fans of the seminal supernatural show some hope.

The multihyphenate, who discusses his and other setbacks and successes in his new podcast, Fail Better, said, “I don’t wake up and wonder, ‘Where is the X-Files stock today?’ But I love that show. I don’t know what my character would be like at my age. It’s an interesting question.”

Duchovny last played Fox Mulder in a two-season revival beginning in 2016.

He adds, “That show can address the present as well as it addressed the ’90s. It just depends on [series creator Chris Carter] or the other writers. I’m always like, ‘Hey, let’s see.'”
