Are you emotionally prepared for this: Inside Out 2 has reportedly surpassed the original film’s worldwide box office gross.

In just 16 days of release, Deadline reports Inside Out 2 has reached a global total of $863.1 million, managing to surpass the first Inside Out‘s lifetime global total of $859 million. This makes it the #19 animated movie of all time worldwide.

Domestically, it’s already entered the all-time animated top 10. Inside Out 2 currently resides at #9 with $411.8 million, beating out 2013’s Frozen for the spot.

At this rate, it looks like the animated sequel will pass $900 million worldwide after Friday’s box office numbers are tallied. If it keeps at this pace, it would be poised to cross the $1 billion mark, which would make it the first film of 2024 to achieve such a milestone, and the fastest animated movie to ever achieve this.

‘Bridgerton’ star Nicola Coughlan releases charity pop song “Shoes…More Shoes”
Nick Thompson

Nicola Coughlan is trading in Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers for a microphone.

The Bridgerton star, who went viral on TikTok for her interview musings about pop songs that several Real Housewives cast members release exclusively for gay men, has now put out a song of her own.

“You know when the real housewives release pop songs exclusively for gay men? That’s my dream job! Because they don’t really sing, they just list things… like shoes, private yachts, caviar, more shoes!” Coughlan’s viral TikTok sound goes.

Fans rallied for an extended version of the viral sound, and, while collaborating with DJ and producer Ellis Miah, Coughlan has given them exactly what they asked for in the form of a brand new track, called “Shoes…More Shoes.”

Profits from the song will be donated to two charities in celebration of Pride Month: Not A Phase and The Trevor Project.

“I’m so thrilled that my encyclopaedic knowledge of Real Housewives and Drag Race has resulted in one of the silliest, funniest things I’ve ever gotten to do,” Coughlan said in a press release. “As a fan of Ellis since ‘Read U Wrote U,’ I’m honoured he took a random interview quote from me and turned it into a brilliant way to raise money for two very worthy charities; Not A Phase and The Trevor Project.”

Lily Gladstone stars in Erica Tremblay‘s feature directorial debut, Fancy Dance, opening theatrically on Friday. Gladstone plays Jax Goodiron, a member of Oklahoma’s Seneca-Cayuga tribe who is searching for her missing sister.

Gladstone is coming off of a big year that culminated in an Oscar nomination for the film Killers of the Flower Moon. However, she tells ABC Audio that you can say her year ended up the way it started.

“There’s a perception it started when Killers of the Flower Moon premiered at Cannes. It started when Fancy Dance premiered at Sundance in January,” she says. “So, it’s been a really lovely bookend to start this wild journey that led into Killers of the Flower Moon and is now kind of beautifully wrapping up.”

Fancy Dance finds Gladstone’s character struggling to maintain hope, while dealing with the harsh reality that her sister, Tawi, may never turn up — as much for herself as for her niece, Roki.

“Jax pretty much knows that Tawi’s not coming back. … Roki’s at that point where she’s smart … and still innocent enough that she can believe that, yeah, mom takes off once in a while,” she says. “And Jax kind of curates an environment and lies to her face to keep that belief high, because she needs it as much as (Roki) does.”

Roki is portrayed by newcomer Isabel Deroy-Olson, who went on to play the younger version of Gladstone’s character Cam in the Hulu docudrama Under the Bridge. Isabel tells ABC Audio there was an instant chemistry between the two.

“When we first met, we didn’t have a chemistry read,” she recalls. “We met in the production office, you know, and the immediate familiarity with each other was so uncanny. It was kind of jarring.”

In another world, Austin Butler could have been the boy with the bread. We’ll just have to settle for him as Elvis Presley instead.

In a video interview with BuzzFeed Celeb released on Wednesday, the actor revealed he auditioned to play Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games franchise.

“I auditioned for The Hunger Games, and I didn’t get it at all. I don’t even think I got a callback. What’s the character, Peeta?” Butler said.

Yes, Austin, the character is Peeta, and he was famously portrayed by Josh Hutcherson in 2012’s The Hunger Games and its three sequels. The Elvis actor did not seem to have any hard feelings about not getting the part, however.

“Josh Hutcherson got that, he’s great,” Butler said.

Butler appeared alongside his The Bikeriders costar Jodie Comer in the video, who said she also missed out on a large part.

“I auditioned for Mamma Mia! That was a time, that was also when I was auditioning for Killing Eve as well,” Comer said.
