The Comeback is making a comeback.

HBO has renewed the Lisa Kudrow-starring comedy series for a third and final season.

The renewal announcement comes 20 years after the first season of the beloved HBO show debuted in 2005 and 10 years after season 2.

Michael Patrick King, the show’s creator, is reuniting with Kudrow for the third and final chapter in Valerie Cherish’s story. They both will also executive produce the season. Other returning series regulars include Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman and Damian Young.

“Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape. Neither of us are surprised she did,” Kudrow and King said in a press release.

Max also released an official video announcement celebrating the upcoming season 3.

“This is the last one. All right? Last time. Never doing this again,” Kudrow says in character as Valerie Cherish. “Well, I’ve got a new show. How’s that? And I’m so excited about it.”

A person off-screen tells her to read the line again, this time more excited. She ends up reading the line several times, before she gets upset and storms off the set.

“You know what, I’m not fooling around anymore,” she says as she walks away.

Amy Gravitt, the executive vice president of HBO and Max comedy programming, called the character of Valerie Cherish a survivor.

“On the 20th Anniversary of her debut, Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow have brilliantly scripted her return to HBO and we can’t wait to see that,” Gravitt said.

Season 3 of The Comeback will debut on HBO and HBO Max in 2026. It begins production this summer.

Amanda Seyfried is opening up about how she auditioned for Wicked multiple times.

On the latest episode of In the Envelope: The Actor’s Podcast, Seyfried said she auditioned for the Jon M. Chu-directed musical six times.

“I auditioned like six times for Wicked because that had to be really just right,” she said. “And I loved it. I was busy. I barely had time to do it, but I made it work.”

She added, “I worked my a** off for years and years and years on that music. I’m competitive with myself in a really healthy way, I think.”

Ariana Grande was eventually cast as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba for the musical-to-film adaptation.

Wicked: For Good, the second of the two-part installment, will arrive in theaters Nov. 21, 2025.

As with Wicked, Seyfried, who starred in the 2012 film Les Misérables, said she did six auditions before being cast in that movie as well.

Of the audition process, she said, “I actually love it, because it’s scary as hell, but I love getting notes and shifting my performance.”

“It’s like a puzzle for me,” she said. “I love the puzzle and I love the competition. And I love waiting for the phone call with the feedback from the casting director.”

She continued, “If someone’s like, ‘I just want to see your take on this,’ I’d be like, ‘Great. I’ll show it to you.’ I love helping people audition. I love directing actors … I think there’s something really beautiful about auditioning, because if you really have this skill, then you’re going to show it no matter what.”

Brad Pitt‘s Los Angeles home was ransacked by burglars Wednesday night, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

Officers responded to the home in the Los Feliz area around 10:30 p.m. PT. Three suspects had jumped over a fence to gain entry to the yard, then broke in through a front window, sources said.

The home was “ransacked,” with an unknown number of items taken, according to police. Police are investigating and will utilize any surveillance video from the home and the area.

The LAPD did not officially confirm the occupant of the home, but sources confirmed to ABC News that it was Pitt’s residence.

It’s unclear if the star was targeted or if, as is often the case, it was just another pricey home that was hit that happened to be his, sources said.

The actor was not home at the time; he has been publicly on the road promoting the new movie F1.

ABC News has reached out to his representative for comment.

Anna Wintour has announced a new role opening up at Vogue.

On Thursday, Good Morning America confirmed that the longtime editor-in-chief is searching for a new head of editorial content at Vogue U.S.

Wintour, 75, who became editor-in-chief of Vogue in 1988, will continue in her role as chief content officer for Condé Nast and global editorial director at Vogue.

The news came as reports surfaced about Wintour stepping down as editor-in-chief of the magazine.

Vogue assured that she will still remain in her role, in which she oversees Condé Nast brands. They include Wired, Vanity Fair, GQ, AD, Condé Nast Traveler, Glamour, Bon Appétit, Tatler, World of Interiors, Allure and others, with the exception of The New Yorker.

In 2020, Wintour was named as Condé Nast’s first-ever global chief content officer, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The move was part of a revamp at the company, which also named Christiane Mack as chief content operations officer, and appointed three global editorial directors for AD, Condé Nast Traveler and GQ, according to a report from Deadline at the time.

Condé Nast CEO Roger Lynch said in a statement to Deadline at the time that Wintour’s appointment to global chief content officer “represents a pivotal moment” for the company “as her ability to stay ahead in connecting with new audiences, while cultivating and mentoring some of today’s brightest talent in the industry, has made her one of media’s most distinguished executives.”

Recently, Wintour organized the star-studded 2025 Met Gala. The theme for the event was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Jason Bateman‘s upcoming limited series with Jude Law now has a release date.

The upcoming New York City-set drama Black Rabbit will arrive Sept. 18 on Netflix.

Black Rabbit follows brothers who learn how far family and the pursuit of success can push a person to the edge. Law stars as Jake, the owner of a restaurant and VIP lounge called The Black Rabbit. The place is poised to be the hottest spot in the city. When his brother Vince, played by Bateman, unexpectedly returns to the business, trouble follows.

“Black Rabbit is a propulsive thrill ride and character examination about the way an unbreakable bond between two brothers can shatter their world and everything in its orbit,” according to an official description from Netflix.

In addition to starring in the show, Bateman also directed its first two episodes. His Ozark co-star Laura Linney directed the third and fourth episodes of the series.

“It’s really about these brothers who love each other but don’t match — one’s a screw-up, and the other is much more buttoned up,” Bateman told Netflix. “Everybody can relate to that. Everybody’s either got a sibling, or a friendship where you love being with one another, but it’s kind of dangerous; where that person usually gets you in trouble, but they’re really exciting to be around.”

Cleopatra Coleman, Dagmara Dominczyk, Troy Kotsur and Odessa Young also star in the upcoming limited series.

The teaser trailer for Emma Stone‘s latest film collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos has arrived.

Focus Features released the first trailer for Lanthimos’ film Bugonia on Thursday.

The movie, which arrives in theaters this fall, follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who “kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth,” according to its official synopsis. You know, that old chestnut.

Stone plays Michelle, the high-powered CEO who gets kidnapped. Jesse Plemons stars as one of the young men who ends up taking her, convinced she is some sort of alien.

“It all starts with something magnificent. A flower, then a honey bee. The workers gather pollen for the queen,” Plemons says in the trailer. “But the bees, they’re dying, and that’s the way they planned it. To make us the same as the bees. But it is not in control anymore. We are.”

Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias and Alicia Silverstone also star in the film with a script by The Menu screenwriter Will Tracy.

Stone has starred in three other Lanthimos films: The Favourite, Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness. She won her second best actress Oscar in a decade for her performance as Bella Baxter in Poor Things.

Bugonia opens in theaters with a special limited engagement on Oct. 24. It expands wider on Oct. 31.
