The mysterious and important work will continue: Severance is hired for another season.

AppleTV+ announced that the mind-splitting workplace thriller will be back for season 3 shortly after the season 2 finale episode was released.

“Making Severance has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of,” said executive producer and director Ben Stiller. “While I have no memory of this, I’m told making season three will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”

Adam Scott, who stars as Mark S. on the show, added, “I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, [creator] Dan [Erickson], the incredible cast & crew, Apple and the whole Severance team. Oh, hey, also – not a huge deal – but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”

The show follows co-workers at a cult-like company who volunteer for a procedure that separates their work life and home life memories. It also stars Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette.

‘The Hunger Games’ producer on casting Haymitch in ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ film

May the odds be ever in the favor of The Hunger Games filmmakers as they cast the actor to play young Haymitch Abernathy.

The fan-favorite character, portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the first four Hunger Games films, takes center stage in Suzanne Collins‘ newest novel in the franchise, Sunrise on the Reaping.

The book hit shelves everywhere on Tuesday. In the prequel novel, a younger version of the mentor who helped bring Katniss and Peeta to victory sets out to compete in the 50th annual Hunger Games. A film adaptation was announced to be in the works at the same time as the book was announced back in June 2024.

In a recent interview with Variety, The Hunger Games franchise’s producer Nina Jacobson talked about what the filmmakers are looking for when casting a young Haymitch.

“It’s an interesting challenge,” Jacobson said. “You don’t want somebody who’s impersonating Woody, but you want somebody who very credibly feels like they could be a young version of this character, before the trauma and grief and rage that the fallout of the Games create.”

The producer said that while “nobody can be Woody Harrelson but Woody Harrelson,” it is possible “to find that mischief that he has in him inherently” in somebody else.

She also said that Haymitch is a great role.

“One of the things that’s so unusual about this is that very rarely does a franchise give an actor a chance to really show their chops and the range that they have, but these roles do,” Jacobson said. “We’ve been blessed with very sophisticated actors in our roles. They draw in and attract real acting talent, because [Collins’] characters are so deep, the ideas are so powerful. It’s a franchise that is still really rooted in incredible character trauma.”

Joey Bada$$: It’s ‘dope to see’ the love for his ‘Raising Kanan’ character after near-death season 3 experience

Starz

Joey Bada$$ is back on Power Book III: Raising Kanan, though his character, Unique, was nearly killed off in the show’s third season.

A fan-favorite on the cast, he tells ABC Audio it was “actually dope to see how much love and appreciation people have for the character in the event of his ‘demise.’ But it was also cool to see how people felt when they found out, ‘Oh, s***, he’s actually not gone,’ too.”

As seen in the first two episodes of season 4, Unique survived with the help of an under-the-radar doctor, who warned his injuries could lead to personality changes if he didn’t receive professional help. Those changes are coupled with his desire to seek vengeance against Raq and all those who he felt had conspired against him.

Joey says it’s different than the vengeance Unique’s brother sought in season 3 because Ronnie had “more of, like, a social disorder.” While he notes that they had similarities in their anger and frustration, he says Unique was previously “able to contain that and use it to his advantage and, like, be smart about it.”

“I think now with the brain injury he’s way more prone to flying off the handle,” Joey adds. That showed up when Unique killed Raq’s lawyer after secretly seeing the two and assuming they were together. When asked whether any of that had to do with Unique loving Raq, Joey says, “There’s a lot of conflicting ideas, thoughts and emotions going on in his head, but I think they’re all scrambled because of the brain injury.”

The Kelly Clarkson Show aired its 1,000th episode on Thursday, and the people in charge of the show find it amusing that people freaked out about Kelly’s recent absences.

Kelly was absent from the show from March 3 to March 13, with guest hosts taking her place. Deadline reports that Kelly was out due to a “private matter.” The mag noted that “multiple press outlets went wild” over the absences, while fans were “desperate for answers.”

“It’s so funny because every season there’s been a period where we had to go to guest hosts for one reason or another,” executive producer and showrunner Alex Duda tells Deadline. “But for some reason this year they wrote about it.”

“We’ve done this before,” adds Tracie Wilson, the executive VP for NBCUniversal Syndication Studios and E! News. “I can’t even tell you how many texts I got from family and friends too.”

“Yes, we’ve had guest hosts a lot over the years, so it’s just something about this year.  … [P]eople love their Kelly and they want her on the air, so we appreciate that.”

As for why the show has been such a success that it’s managed to last 1,000 episodes, Wilson says, “One of the most appealing things about Kelly is that she talks to the human interest regular folks in the same way she talks to the celebrities. She’s just so comfortable in her skin and she doesn’t know how to be any other way.”

“For anyone who comes on, it’s just a really comfortable experience and that’s why people keep coming back.”

The universe of Coco is expanding.

Disney and Pixar are developing the sequel Coco 2, CEO Bob Iger announced during the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholder meeting.

“While the film is just in the initial stages, we know it will be full of humor, heart and adventure,” Iger said. “And we can’t wait to share more soon.”

The original team behind the first film will reunite to create the sequel, which is set to release in 2029. Director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina, along with producer Mark Nielsen, are all slated to return to further tell the story of the Rivera family.

The original Coco film debuted in movie theaters in 2017 and grossed over $800 million at the global box office. It won the Oscars for best animated feature film and best original song for “Remember Me.”

Coco tells the story of 12-year-old boy Miguel, who dreams of becoming a musician even though his family carries a generations-old ban on music. Miguel journeys to the Land of the Dead to uncover the true story of his family’s history.

Pixar also shared the news to its social media accounts on Thursday.

“Disney and Pixar’s Coco 2 is officially coming to theaters in 2029,” the company’s post on the social platform X reads.

Disney is the parent company of Pixar and ABC News.

The teaser trailer for Tina Fey‘s new comedy series, The Four Seasons, has arrived.

Created and written by Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, the show arrives on Netflix May 1. It follows a year in the life of a group of longtime friends over the course of four seasonal vacations.

Fey stars in the show alongside a star-studded cast that includes Will Forte, Steve Carell, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani.

“It is rare to find your soulmate. And yet, somehow, all six of us have done it,” Forte says during a cheers to all of the main cast in the trailer.

The Four Seasons covers six old friends as they “head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up,” according to its official synopsis. After being completely upended by the news, “we follow the friends on four vacations, and watch how this shake-up affects everyone’s dynamic — sending old issues and new bubbling to the surface.”

Made to be a heartfelt love letter to long marriages and old friendships, the series is based on the 1981 film of the same name that was written, directed by and starred Alan Alda. Alda is also a producer and guest star in this new version of the story.

The show’s cast also includes Erika Henningsen, Julia Lester, Ashlyn Maddox, Jacob Buckenmyer, Taylor Ortega, Simone Recasner, Toby Edward Huss, Tommy Do, Chloe Troast, Jack Gore and Cole Tristan Murphy.

Come with Netflix and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination.

The streamer has announced it is producing a reality competition series based on the beloved Roald Dahl novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Called The Golden Ticket, the show will find contestants immersed in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory to take place in what’s described as a high-stakes social experiment.

Participants will adapt and strategize through games, tests and temptations that are designed to prove their resilience and ability to thrive in the candy-colored, retro-futuristic wonderland. There is one catch, however. Only players who find a golden ticket will be allowed to enter the chocolate factory.

While the filming location and premiere date have yet to be announced, applications to appear on the show are now open to legal residents of United States who are at least 18 years or older.

“We are thrilled to bring the magic of The Chocolate Factory to life like never before,” Jeff Gaspin, vice president of unscripted at Netflix, said. “This one-of-a-kind reality competition blends adventure, strategy, and social dynamics, creating an experience that is as captivating as it is unpredictable. For the first time, a lucky few won’t just have to imagine the experience — they’ll get to step inside the factory and live it.”

This marks the third Dahl project at Netflix after the films Matilda the Musical and The Wonderful World of Henry Sugar. The streamer teamed up with the Roald Dahl Story Company in 2021.
