Nintendo has cast its top-billed stars for the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie.

In a statement shared to social platform X on Wednesday, Nintendo director Shigeru Miyamoto said the characters Link and Princess Zelda would be played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason, respectively.

“I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen,” he said. “The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 7, 2027. Thank you for your patience.”

Link is the central protagonist of the hit video game series, who is tasked with saving his kingdom and helping Zelda, the Hylian princess of Hyrule.

Sixteen-year-old Ainsworth previously voiced Pinocchio opposite Tom Hanks in the 2022 Disney live-action adaptation of Pinocchio and starred as Miles Wingrave in The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix.

English actress Bragason, 20, previously appeared in the British series Three Girls and The Jetty, as well as Renegade Nell on Disney+, and the 2024 British comedy horror film The Radleys alongside Damian Lewis and Kelly Macdonald.

Vecna returns to Hawkins in the official teaser trailer for Stranger Things season 5.

Netflix released the teaser for the upcoming fifth and final season of the sci-fi series on Wednesday.

The final season of the show takes place in the fall of 1987. Mike, Eleven, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Steve and the rest of the gang set out to complete a singular goal: find and kill the villainous Vecna. But he has seemingly disappeared without a trace.

Making matters worse, “the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding,” according to an official synopsis from Netflix. “As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”

Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery and Maya Hawke star in season 5.

“After what we’ve been through, this thing – it ties us together. Forever,” Heaton’s Jonathan Byers says in the trailer.

The teaser also shows off Linda Hamilton in the new role of Dr. Kay. She arrives surrounded by a SWAT team in the short clip.

Stranger Things season 5 will release in a three-part rollout. The first four episodes in Volume 1 will premiere on Nov. 26, while the following three episodes in Volume 2 will be available to stream on Christmas. The series finale will debut on New Year’s Eve.

Spend your last summer in Cousins Beach with season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

The Prime Video series returns for its third and final season on Wednesday. Lola Tung stars as Belly in the coming-of-age romance, which starts back up with a considerable time jump. Tung told Good Morning America it was fun to get back into playing Belly.

“It was really fun to get back to it and also at a very different point in her life, a four-year time jump. It was it was super, super fun,” Tung said.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the books by Jenny Han. She said it felt natural to bring Belly’s story full circle.

“That cast embodies their characters so well,” Han said. “It’s a joy to write for them and to work with them and to make this together. I think that’s the sad part of it, the show ending, is that I loved knowing, ‘Oh, I’ll see you next summer at the beach.'”

When season 3 starts, Belly is in a loving relationship with her boyfriend, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). Even though her future seems set, “core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad (Christopher Briney) back into her life,” according to a synopsis from Prime Video.

The emotional love triangle between Belly and the Fisher brothers will end after this season. So, who will Belly decide to be with?

“You just have to watch to find out,” Tung said. “It’s been so much fun getting to be on this journey of the love triangle, and on Belly’s journey, and getting to feel the push and pull of emotions and showcase a relationship or relationships that are very complex and a little bit messy, because nothing is ever wrapped up with a bow, even if you want it to be.”
