At long last we can watch Halsey‘s acting debut, which she filmed 3 1/2 years ago.

The black comedy, Americana, hits theaters on Friday. It finds Halsey playing single mom Mandy, who’s one of several people trying to steal a valuable Native American artifact. Her co-stars include Sydney Sweeney, Paul Walter Hauser and Eric Dane.

Halsey writes on Instagram that making the film was “an absolute honor,” adding, “This film represents such a memorable time in my life. I signed on before I got pregnant [with son Ender]. Filmed it with a 6 month old baby (still nursing!). … A whirlwind to say the least.”

She adds, “I made so many friends and learned so many things. It was a world of firsts for me and I am so proud.”

Separately, in a promotional interview, Halsey said Americana is “a Western and a heist movie, and also a coming-of-age drama, and also a ‘return home prodigal son’ story. … It’s kind of sexy but also kind of dirty. It’s just so many things all wrapped into one.”

Halsey recalled that when she joined the cast, she asked the director, “Aren’t you nervous I’m going to be terrible and I’m gonna suck? What if I ruin this whole thing?”

“He was like, ‘No, I have faith in you, it’s gonna be awesome,'” she said.

Of course, it helped that Sydney is one of Halsey’s best friends in real life, having appeared in Halsey’s video for “Graveyard.”

“She’s so sweet, she’s so professional. She was so awesome and gracious to me,” noted Halsey. “I asked her a lot of questions about acting since this was my first movie and she answered all of them and really helped me feel more calm.”

There’s a brand-new reality TV show headed to Hulu, and it’s all about helping virgins find “the one.”

Bachelor Nation alums Kaitlyn Bristowe and Colton Underwood are the hosts of Are You My First?, a reality dating show centered around helping single virgins find love. When Bristowe first heard the premise, she told ABC Audio her first thought was, “Why me?”

“Why me with virgins?” she said, before expressing how excited she was by the idea. “You know when you hear something and you go, ‘How has this never been done before?’ And that’s when you know it’s a good idea. It was kind of one of those moments.”

For Underwood, who was known as the virgin Bachelor on his season leading the series, he said it was “really cool to see a super authentic show” touch on the subject of virginity. He feels like this is a reality dating show that fans “are going to be able to relate to a little bit more.”

“It’s just so pure and innocent and like I feel like a lot of people as they watch it are going to be like, ‘Oh my gosh, that happened to me’ or ‘I remember feeling this way too before I lost my virginity,'” Underwood said.

Bristowe said she feels like the stakes on this show are different than that of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette.

“I feel the emotions are a little more raw and the people are a lot more vulnerable,” Bristowe said. “There’s just something about watching people navigate that level of vulnerability together.”

Are You My First? is available to stream on Aug. 18.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News and Hulu.

Behind every good man is a good woman — just ask Michael Jai White. He wrote, produced and starred in the new movie Trouble Man, but not without his wife’s feedback. Gillian White tells ABC Audio she had a lot of input before the release.

“He talks to me about so many aspects of the film and asks for my advice or my ideas or anything that I can help with,” she says. “I think he thinks I’m a pretty smart woman, so I think he respects my ideas and my input. But yeah, we’re a team. So we tend to work together on every project.”

Michael cosigned, noting there’s “not even a little bit” of concern about mixing his professional life with his private one.

“If you have your best friend working beside you, somebody who is smarter than you in a lot of ways, I mean, it all is for the gain,” he says of working with Gillian. “In fact, if she weren’t with me, I’d have a lot more stress.”

Now available on streaming platforms, Trouble Man follows the story of Michael’s character, Jaxen, a private investigator hired to help find a missing R&B star. Gillian plays his former flame Gina, with whom he later rekindles a relationship.

New trailer for ‘Wednesday’ season 2 part 2 reveals new spirit guide

New trailer for ‘Wednesday’ season 2 part 2 reveals new spirit guide
Jenna Ortega in ‘Wednesday’ (Jonathan Hession/Netflix)

Much of the first part of the new season of Wednesday revolves around our pigtailed protagonist trying to figure out why her psychic powers are glitching, and there’s a lot of talk about how she needs a new “spirit guide” to help her solve the problem. Well, in the new trailer for the second part of the season, problem solved.

In the trailer we see that Wednesday’s in the hospital, in a coma following the events of part one. She wakes to find none other than Gwendoline Christie‘s Principal Weems — who died in the first season — in her hospital room. She’s not back from the dead but, surprise, she is Wednesday’s new spirit guide.

Also in the trailer, Wednesday finally tells her roommate Enid that she’s in danger from Tyler aka the monstrous Hyde, who escaped from the mental hospital in part one. There are also showdowns, explosions, dancing and even a little tease of the much-talked-about appearance of Lady Gaga.

Unseen in part one, the pop superstar is set to play Rosaline Rotwood, a “legendary teacher” at Nevermore, in part two. We don’t see her, but we hear her voice saying, “Beware. There will be a price to pay.”

The new episodes arrive Sept. 3. According to Variety, part one scored 50 million views in its first five days of streaming.

Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t reading what you’re writing about Carrie Bradshaw.

The actress told People in a recent interview that she doesn’t keep up with the fan reactions to new episodes of And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City sequel series.

“Never,” Parker said. “I don’t have the constitution for that, because I think you’re going to perhaps read things or hear things that don’t always feel great.”

That being said, she does understand that fan communities will have their own feelings about the shows they love.

“When you’re part of a community, people are going to have a lot of feelings. And it doesn’t mean that a feeling can’t change, it’s a reaction. We want very much for people to have all those feelings, and it’s not for us to police or try to correct them,” Parker said.

The actress said this has all added up to make her “a very inexperienced troller.”

“I think that conversation is better left not in any way witnessed or babysat by me,” she said.

The series finale of And Just Like That… airs Thursday on HBO Max.
