Some familiar faces may just be headed back to Middle-earth.

Sir Ian McKellen has revealed new details about the upcoming film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.

The actor, who played Gandalf the Grey in the original The Lord of the Rings trilogy, spoke about the new film while on stage at the For the Love of Fantasy fan event in London on Sunday.

“I hear there’s going to be another movie based in Middle-earth, and it’s going to start filming in May. It’s going to be directed by Gollum, and it’s all about Gollum,” McKellen said.

McKellen also shared a couple of new details regarding who will appear in the movie.

“I’ll tell you two secrets about the casting: There’s a character in the movie called Frodo, and there’s a character in the movie called Gandalf,” McKellen said. “Apart from that, my lips are sealed!”

Warner Bros. has yet to confirm these new details.

While McKellen said Gandalf and Frodo would return in the film, he did not say if he or Elijah Wood would reprise their respective roles.

Andy Serkis is set to direct and star in the film based on the character he portrayed throughout the original franchise. The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson is set to produce this new live-action film.

The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is expected to release in December 2027.

Anna Faris and Regina Hall are ready to scare again.

The post featured a photo of Faris and Hall on the set of the original Scary Movie film. The caption included the eyes emoji and “SM6,” which seemingly stands for Scary Movie 6.

Hall and Faris shared a statement first reported on by Deadline about returning to the franchise.

“We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen [Ivory Wayans], Shawn [Wayans] and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” Hall and Faris said.

The Wayans brothers are returning to pen an original, all-new script with Rick Alvarez. Keenen Ivory Wayans wrote and directed the first two films in the franchise, which Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans also wrote and starred in.

Carrie Bradshaw, the character made famous in Sex and the City, took her last spin in a tutu Thursday night with the series finale of And Just Like That… .

The series, which premiered in 2021 as a revival of Sex and the City, the beloved show about four women in New York City, ended its third and final season on HBO Max with a nod to the independence of its main star, Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.

In the final scene, Carrie is seen sitting at her famous laptop, typing out the words, “The woman realized she wasn’t alone. She was on her own,” before dancing down the hallway in a red dress with a tutu skirt.

In an interview published Friday in The New York Times, Parker said she was “absolutely” happy that her character ended up on her own.

Parker added that she “did not think” her character would end up with her on-again, off-again love interest Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett.

She also spoke about her decision, made alongside showrunner, writer and director Michael Patrick King, to end the series.

“Because that’s where the story ended,” Parker said. “We felt this was the honorable thing to do. It’s very easy to stay. It’s where we’re all happy. But you have to be principled when you make these very difficult, agonizing decisions because there’s a lot of people who are affected.”

King announced the end of the series in a statement shared on social media on Aug. 1, writing at the time that he came to the conclusion while writing the final episode of season 3.

“SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” King wrote, referring to Parker. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

A new version of The Traitors is on its way.

NBC has announced that an all-new civilian-only version of the Peacock reality competition show is headed to the network.

The Emmy-winning host of The TraitorsAlan Cumming, will also host this version of the show. He’ll invite the group of civilians to his castle in the Scottish Highlands and ask them if they want to play as a Faithful, or if they want to play as a Traitor.

“We’re excited to bring along The Traitors’ highly addictive fan base as we discover the next generation of legendary gamers and schemers,” Sharon Vuong, the executive vice president of unscripted programming at NBCUniversal Entertainment, said. “With our resident host and gameplay master of ceremonies, Alan Cumming, on board to introduce complete strangers to new epic missions and twisted gameplay, this new version for NBC offers a unique opportunity for the cast and audience to meet each other for the first time and we know it will be incredible to watch.”

This new version of The Traitors will begin production in 2026.

At long last we can watch Halsey‘s acting debut, which she filmed 3 1/2 years ago.

The black comedy, Americana, hits theaters on Friday. It finds Halsey playing single mom Mandy, who’s one of several people trying to steal a valuable Native American artifact. Her co-stars include Sydney Sweeney, Paul Walter Hauser and Eric Dane.

Halsey writes on Instagram that making the film was “an absolute honor,” adding, “This film represents such a memorable time in my life. I signed on before I got pregnant [with son Ender]. Filmed it with a 6 month old baby (still nursing!). … A whirlwind to say the least.”

She adds, “I made so many friends and learned so many things. It was a world of firsts for me and I am so proud.”

Separately, in a promotional interview, Halsey said Americana is “a Western and a heist movie, and also a coming-of-age drama, and also a ‘return home prodigal son’ story. … It’s kind of sexy but also kind of dirty. It’s just so many things all wrapped into one.”

Halsey recalled that when she joined the cast, she asked the director, “Aren’t you nervous I’m going to be terrible and I’m gonna suck? What if I ruin this whole thing?”

“He was like, ‘No, I have faith in you, it’s gonna be awesome,'” she said.

Of course, it helped that Sydney is one of Halsey’s best friends in real life, having appeared in Halsey’s video for “Graveyard.”

“She’s so sweet, she’s so professional. She was so awesome and gracious to me,” noted Halsey. “I asked her a lot of questions about acting since this was my first movie and she answered all of them and really helped me feel more calm.”
