Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn has released another new song off his upcoming solo album, The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows.
The latest track is called “Polaris,” and is available now for digital download. It’s accompanied by a black-and-white performance video, which you can watch now on YouTube.
“Polaris” is the second Nearer the Fountain song to be released, following the title track. The whole album arrives November 12.
The Nearer the Fountain is the sophomore follow-up to Albarn’s 2014 solo debut, Everyday Robots.
That’s amore! Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde were photographed kissing and cuddling during their Italian vacation, Page Sixreports.
Page Six has the photos, which shows the couple on a yacht off the coast in Monte Argentario, a region in Southern Tuscany where they’ve reportedly been on holiday for the past week. Harry and Olivia — she directed the singer in the upcoming movie, Don’t Worry Darling — spent the afternoon on the yacht dancing, reading, smooching, embracing, sipping wine and swimming.
The two were also seen riding together in a dinghy, and since the “Watermelon Sugar” singer conveniently removed his shirt for the ride, there was no question it was him — his distinctive tattoos were on full display.
Last week, Harry and Olivia were spotted arm-in-arm in the town of Porto Ercole, where Harry went after wrapping his most recent film, My Policeman, in England. Olivia reportedly joined him there after her own visit to England, where her two children were staying with their dad, her ex-fiancé, Jason Sudekis.
Olivia, 37, and Harry, 27, have been romantically linked since January of this year, when they were spotted holding hands.
Paul Rudd has been known for playing pranks — for example, his years-long habit of playing the same clip from the 1988 movie Mac and Me whenever he appears on Conan to promote a new film — but he gets kudos for what comics call “commitment to a bit” for a gag he pulled on his pal Seth Rogen.
On Twitter, Rogen admitted that his 40-Year-Old Virgin co-star clowned him big time, but honestly, it’s not really obvious who got the last laugh.
“Once I was in the spa in a hotel in Vegas getting a massage,” Rogen recalled. “When I finished I turned over and to my shock Paul Rudd was massaging me. He saw me go in and convinced the masseuse to let him take over, thinking I’d notice immediately.”
It’s not known when the prank happened, but the story Seth posted immediately went viral.
“Suddenly Paul Rudd turning out to be my masseuse is the thing I want most in the whole world,” one person responded. Another wrote, “Seriously how do I get in on this prank?!”
Leslie Odom Jr. is thrilled to be part of Knives Out 2, the sequel to the 2019 hit movie, especially since he’ll be working alongside some familiar faces.
Odom, 39, raved to ABC Audio about the A-list cast, which includes his Central Park co-star Kathryn Hahn, as well as Janelle Monáe and Kate Hudson, with whom he starred in Harriet and Music, respectively.
Despite that, the Hamilton star finds it “funny” he’s nervous about the opportunity.
“There comes a time in the business where you just feel like you don’t know anybody,” said Odom. “There is a part of me that still feels like that 23- or 24-year-old kid that just got to LA and nobody knows me and I’m still trying to make it.”
Nerves aside, Leslie disclosed he’s most looking forward to working Knives Out 2 director RianJohnson.
“To work with Rian on his new film is what I’m most excited about” the Oscar nominee declared, noting Johnson is primed to “deliver something that is exciting and surprising to the fans, just like the first one!”
Asked if he could tease anything about the sequel, Leslie grinned, “I’m not giving away a thing. No way!” However, he did note some of his Knives Out 2 co-stars are talented singers.
“I feel like there could be a musical number. I’ve got to get to work on that,” he joked, and urged fans to “write a fake fan letter” demanding one be included. (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)
Knives Out 2, also starring Daniel Craig, Dave Bautista and Ethan Hawke, is slated to premiere next year.
Today, July 6, marks the 50th anniversary of the release of third Allman Brothers Band album, At Fillmore East, widely considered one of the greatest-ever live albums.
The double-album marked a commercial breakthrough for the Southern jam band, peaking at #13 on Billboard‘s Top Pop Albums chart, and eventually becoming the group’s first platinum-certified release.
The album was recorded during a March 11-13 stand at promoter Bill Graham‘s famous New York City venue. At Fillmore East captured the band firing on all cylinders, showcasing the two-guitar interplay of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, and frontman Gregg Allman‘s soulful vocals and soaring Hammond organ.
Among At Fillmore East‘s performances are renditions of blues gems such as Blind Willie McTell‘s “Stateboro Blues” and T-Bone Walker‘s “Stormy Monday,” as well as three originals — “Hot ‘Lanta,” “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and “Whipping Post.”
The album featured several extended jams that allowed the Allmans to fully explore their eclectic mix of blues, jazz, soul and psychedelic rock, including an almost-13-minute rendition of the Betts-penned instrumental “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and an epic 22-plus-minute version of Gregg Allman’s “Whipping Post.”
In the 2012 Allmans biography One Way Out, producer Tom Dowdsaid of the At Fillmore East performances, “Here was a rock ‘n’ roll band playing blues in the jazz vernacular. And they tore the place up.”
Sadly, At Fillmore East was the last album Allman Brothers Band released before Duane Allman’s death at age 27 on October 29, 1971, in a motorcycle crash.
(NEW YORK) — The tropical storm’s path is sparing Miami, where rescuers are still searching for victims of the deadly Surfside condo collapse.
Elsa will pass the Tampa Bay area overnight Tuesday into Wednesday and is forecast to make landfall just north of Tampa Bay before sunrise.
Tampa International Airport is suspending operations at 5 p.m. Tuesday with plans to resume at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Elsa’s winds are expected to reach 70 mph at the time of landfall; storms need winds 74 mph or higher to be considered a hurricane.
Storm surge could reach 5 feet around Tampa Bay, an area very susceptible to flooding due to the coastal, low-lying topography.
The heaviest rainfall — 6 to 10 inches — will be north of Tampa.
Flooding is possible for most of Florida — from Naples to Jacksonville — and could extend into Georgia.
Residents should be prepared to be without power for the next few days, but widespread evacuations aren’t expected, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday.
After barreling through Florida, Elsa will join a cold front and will become a hybrid storm system, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to Georgia, the Carolinas and the mid-Atlantic by later in the week.
Elsa is expected to reemerge off the New Jersey coast, dropping heavy rain and winds on Atlantic City, New York City, Long Island, Boston and Cape Cod.
Now that Ed Sheeran‘s new single, “Bad Habits,” has debuted at number one in his native U.K., the superstar say we should get ready to hear a lot more from him.
On Instagram, he writes of his number-one achievement, “I’m absolutely over the moon, and did not expect this start at all. I’ve been away for such a long time that I know it’s gonna take a bit to get back to normal, so was expecting this tune to build as the weeks went on, but to debut so high week one is phenomenal, and something that after a decade in this industry I do not take for granted.”
“Thank you so much for giving this era such a flying start,” Ed adds. “Loads more music on the way soon, but for now I’m gonna crack open a beer and toast to you lot.”
Ed ended his message by saying he’s confident that England’s football team, which has made it to the semi-finals in the European championship, will end up winning the whole thing.
Damian Christian, an executive at Ed’s record label, told Music Week that Ed’s new album will come “later in the year, adding that “Bad Habits” “doesn’t define the whole Ed record.”
“They don’t all go down this route,” Christian says of the album’s songs. “We have got some absolute monsters to come, we can’t wait to get cracking on those as well.” He also reveals that there will be a remix of “Bad Habits” at some point.
Lana Del Rey‘s album Blue Banisters didn’t drop on July 4, as she previously promised, but she did share a sample of her new single — and update fans on the album’s status.
“Album out later later… Single out soonish,” Lana captioned an Instagram post, which included a video clip of the upcoming, as-yet unnamed track. “Have a good fourth x.”
In the clip, Lana appears in a yellow tank top and sweater as she sings the lyrics, “My body is a map of LA / I stand straight like an angel with a halo / Hanging at the Hilton hotel window screaming ‘hey, baby lets go.'”
In a subsequent post, the 36-year-old singer shared the cover art for Blue Banisters, which features her sitting on a wooden deck in a yellow dress with two German Shepherd dogs on either side of her. The caption reads, “TBD.”
After teasing his single “Stay” for weeks, The Kid LAROI is finally releasing it on Friday, along with a video co-starring his duet partner on the track, Justin Bieber. Now he’s posted a teaser for the video, which he refers to as “‘Stay’ The Movie.”
The clip, which seems to feature time-freeze special effects, features both artists singing together in what looks like a train station, plus shots of Justin standing on top of a building and LAROI running down a city street.
“Oh, I’ll be f**ked up, if you can’t be right here/I do the same thing I told you that I never would/I told you I’d change, even when I knew I never could,” LAROI sings. “I know that I can’t find nobody else as good as you/I need you to stay, need you to stay.”
This is the second collab for the two artists, following LAROI’s feature on Justin’s song “Unstable” from his album JUSTICE.
Doja Cat‘s latest album, Planet Her, shot the singer into space — the space just shy of the top of the Billboard album chart.
The singer’s new release debuts at number two on the Billboard 200 with 109,000 units sold. It’s Doja’s best sales week, and the album is her highest-charting release yet, besting the number-nine peak of her previous album, Hot Pink.
Planet Her features guest appearances by SZA, The Weeknd and Ariana Grande, among others.
Meanwhile, Tyler, the Creator‘s latest album, Call Me If You Get Lost, debuts at number one on the chart. Justin Bieber‘s JUSTICE returns to the top 10, jumping from #14 to #10. That was due to a 20% sales hike thanks to the album’s vinyl release on June 25.
The rest of the top 10 features the latest albums from Olivia Rodrigo, Migos, Lil Baby and Lil Durk, Polo G, Bo Burnham, Dua Lipa and Morgan Wallen.
