Things aren’t always as they appear — just ask Saweetie

After photos of the “Best Friend” rapper sitting next to Roddy Ricch at a Lakers game began to circulate online, so did rumors that the two were dating, which Saweetie seemed to swiftly shut down.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the 28-year-old artist wrote, “So avoid sitting next to men in public places otherwise the world assumes y’all are dating … got it,” followed by the green check mark emoji.

For what it’s worth, the two rappers don’t appear to be coupled up in the photos. Ricch has not yet addressed the speculation.

This isn’t the first time fans have stuck their nose in Saweetie’s romantic business. Fans previously pondered about her and fellow rapper Jack Harlow, who appeared on the remix to her hit “Tap In,” after he appeared to shoot his shot while on the red carpet at the 2021 BET Awards in June.

“Spill some tea on Jack Harlow,” wrote one fan, while another said,” So does @jackharlow have shot at tap tap taping in?”

Saweetie was previously in a long-term relationship with Migos rapper Quavo before announcing their split in March.

Although Chung has yet to share the news on her own page, she commented a pair of red hearts under her husband’s post. Congratulations!!!!,” and Hilary Duff, who commented, “Whaaaaaaaat!!!!!.”

Chung and Greenberg began dating shortly after they starred in Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong. They married three years later in 2015.

Coldplay‘s new album Music of the Spheres has debuted in the top five on the Billboard 200.

The ninth studio effort from Chris Martin and company lands at number four on the chart with a total of 57,000 equivalent album units, 37,000 of which were traditional album sales.

Music of the Spheres is the seventh Coldplay album to hit the top five on the Billboard 200 — only their 2000 debut, Parachutes, and 2019’s Everyday Life didn’t make it that high. Of those seven, four debuted at number one: 2005’s X&Y, 2008’s Viva la Vida, 2001’s Mylo Xyloto and 2014’s Ghost Stories.

Meanwhile, in their home country, every one of Coldplay’s albums has topped the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, making them the only band with a perfect nine-for-nine number-one discography.

Music of the Spheres features the lead single “Higher Power” and the hit BTS collaboration “My Universe.” Coldplay will launch a world tour in support of the record in 2022.

Eric Clapton has premiered a new preview clip from his upcoming performance video The Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions that captures him playing an acoustic version of the 1968 Fleetwood Mac classic, “Black Magic Woman.”

As previously reported, The Lady in the Balcony, which will be released on November 12 on video and audio formats, features an intimate performance by Clapton and members of his touring band in February 2021 year at the Cowdray House country mansion in West Sussex, U.K.

The show was recorded without an audience, with exception of Eric’s wife, Melia, who watched the performance from a balcony — hence the release’s title.

For his version of “Black Magic Woman,” Clapton is featured on acoustic 12-string guitar, joined by Chris Stainton on keyboards, Nathan East on standup bass and Steve Gadd on drums.

As he begins the tune, Eric declares, “This one’s for Peter,” referring to founding Fleetwood Mac singer/guitarist Peter Green, who wrote the song and who passed away in July 2020 at age 73. Of course, Santana recorded the most famous version of “Black Magic Woman,” scoring a 1970 hit with the song.

The show also featured Eric performing some of his best-known original songs, several blues classics and another Green-penned Fleetwood Mac tune, “Man of the World.”

The Lady in the Balcony, which you can pre-order now, will be available as a DVD/CD or Blu-ray/CD set, a 4K UHD/Blu-ray package, a two-LP colored-vinyl set, as digital video and audio versions, and as a Deluxe Edition featuring the DVD, Blu-ray and CD housed in a 40-page hardback photo book. In addition, a standalone CD version will be sold exclusively at Target.

Here’s the full The Lady in the Balcony track list:

“Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out”
“Golden Ring”
“Black Magic Woman”
“Man of the World”
“Kerry”

Metallica is off to Sin City.

(NEW YORK) — As the COVID-19 pandemic has swept the globe, more than 4.9 million people have died from the disease worldwide, including over 735,000 Americans, according to real-time data compiled by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.

Just 67.2% of Americans ages 12 and up are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here’s how the news is developing. All times Eastern:

Cases dropping across US but rising in some Midwest, Northeast states

In the last month, the daily case average in the U.S. has dropped by nearly 43% thanks to falling metrics in states like Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana, which have all seen their case averages drop by nearly 90% or more since August, according to federal data.

But in recent weeks, cases have been creeping up in several states in the Northeast and the upper Midwest, including Minnesota and Michigan.

Alaska currently has the country’s highest infection rate, followed by Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and North Dakota, according to federal data.

About 52,000 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized across the U.S., a major drop from the 104,000 hospitalized patients in late August.

But the U.S. death toll remains persistently high, with nearly 1,300 new deaths being reported each day, according to federal data.

Moderna says its pediatric vaccine produces strong immune response in kids 6 to 11

Moderna has announced that its vaccine produces a strong immune response for children 6 to 11 and appears safe.

The study, which included 4,753 kids, found that side effects were generally consistent with those seen in adolescents and adults, such as fatigue, headache, fever and sore arm.

Moderna said it plans to submit this data to the FDA soon.

Meanwhile, FDA advisors are planning to meet this week to discuss Pfizer’s vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. Full authorization is possible by early November.

Former CDC head ‘very encouraged’ by US data

Dr. Richard Besser, former acting director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said Monday that he’s “very encouraged” by the country’s current COVID-19 metrics.

Speaking to ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos during an interview on Good Morning America, Besser said the United States is “definitely” moving in the right direction with COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths on the decline in “a lot of communities” and vaccinations on the rise.

As the Halloween holiday draws near, Besser advised families living in areas where COVID-19 numbers are going down to remain vigilant by wearing protective face masks and using hand sanitizer when trick-or-treating this year. Otherwise, he encouraged them to “enjoy the holiday.”

“These kinds of things are very good for emotional health and you can do them safely,” explained Besser, who is now the president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

When asked whether he thinks the situation will improve to a point where children won’t need to wear masks in school, Besser said it will come down to what’s happening at the community level.

“I think if we’re in a situation where vaccines are available and the rate of disease in the community is very low, we’ll get to a point where we won’t need masks anymore,” he said. “There will be a day where kids can go to school without masks and just be kids.”
