“Truly get to know” Bruce Springsteen by watching him take ‘The Late Show’ “Colbert Questionert”

After Bruce Springsteen paid a visit to CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert a couple of weeks ago, The Boss appeared on the program again on Wednesday night in a new — likely pre-recorded — interview segment.

Springsteen took part in an installment of the program’s ongoing “Colbert Questionert” segment, during which host Stephen Colbert fires off 15 questions to a celebrity guest designed to help people “truly get to know” that star.

Here are some of the questions Bruce was asked, and his responses:

What is the best sandwich? “That’s easy. Three a.m. Peanut butter and jelly. Big glass of milk.”

What is the scariest animal? “[It] used to be the shark because I was a surfer…when I was younger, but I have been bit several times by a brown recluse spider…and they leave a nasty necrotic sore.”

Apples or oranges? “Apples.”

Have you ever asked someone for their autograph? “Yes. I was with my son watching the New York Yankees in 1998, and…we had a baseball that the whole team signed.”

What do you think happens when we die? “Individual consciousness, adios. But our souls and our spirits, I think, grow and live on with the people that we’ve loved and who’ve loved us and with people we’ve had impact on with our work or with our in our daily experience. So I’m going with that.”

Tom Holland praises “most incredible person” Zendaya after her Fashion Icon award win

His Spidey sense was tingling. Tom Holland has taken to social media again to praise his Spider-Man series love interest and reported IRL girlfriend, Zendaya.

The actress became the youngest person ever to be given the Fashion Icon honor at the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers) Awards Wednesday night.

Zendaya stunned in a red, two-piece, midriff-baring Vera Wang gown to accept the prize, while Holland swooned in response.

“Naaa stop it,” Holland said, posting a red carpet shot of Zendaya, with the actor adding a “heart eyes” smiley face. “An incredible achievement for the most incredible person.”

Holland, 25, also shouted-out Zendaya’s stylist, Roach Law, with, “Congrats @zendaya and @luxurylaw you guys deserve every bit of this.”

Volbeat premieres video for “Shotgun Blues”

Volbeat has premiered the video for “Shotgun Blues,” a track off the band’s upcoming album, Servant of the Mind.

The clip takes us to New York City in the year 1902, and finds the Danish rockers providing the soundtrack to a condemned man’s final moments before his execution by electric chair. You can watch it streaming now on YouTube.

Servant of the Mind, the follow-up to 2019’s Rewind, Replay, Rebound, arrives December 3. It also includes the single “Wait a Minute My Girl.”

Phoebe Bridgers cried when working with Taylor Swift on ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ song

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Less than 24 hours stand in the way between us and Taylor Swift‘s re-recorded Red album. To amp up the excitement, one of the album’s collaborators admits just being able to be a part of it made her cry.

Phoebe Bridgers, who is featured on the song “Nothing New,” tells Billboard that working with Taylor has “just been a dream.”

The indie rock artist teased, “I just am so excited to have people take it at face value the day that it comes out, because I got teary recording it. I just couldn’t be more excited.”

Red (Taylor’s Version) — her remake of the 2012 Grammy-nominated album — drops Friday.” Nothing New” is a song Taylor wrote when recording the original album, but it didn’t make the cut. Now, it’s being released as one of the “Songs from the Vault” tracks on the re-recording.

Bridgers says Taylor’s decision to rerecord her old albums has taken the music industry by storm.

“It’s really inspiring for me and a lot of musicians,” she said. “I think a lot of people make a couple of records [and are] like, ‘Oh wow, I hit the top, I’m great now,’ and the fact that she just has always wanted more from the world — like, “No, no, no, f*** you, I’m going to make it again, I’m going to make it better, and it’s going to belong to me’ — is the coolest.”

Rob Thomas not worried about new Santana collaboration “Move” matching “Smooth”

Trying to follow up one of the biggest songs of the last 20 years or so is a tall order, which is why Rob Thomas says he isn’t concerned about whether or not “Move,” his new duet with Carlos Santana, is as successful as their first duet, “Smooth.” But Rob says the reason he specifically doesn’t worry about that stuff is because of some advice that Carlos gave him 21 years ago.

“I’m three years younger now than Carlos was when we first did ‘Smooth,'” Rob tells ABC Audio. “And at that very, very young age, Carlos taught me something that was very, very important that I hold on to, which is: The world is not as complicated as you make it seem sometimes, and you really are only in control of your motive, your intention and your purpose.”

According to Rob, Carlos told him, “Those are the three things that you can control. And whatever the outcome is, that’s going to be the outcome, but you can’t worry about it while you’re putting something into [the universe].”

“So, I don’t think I’ve ever really been concerned about whether something was going to perform,” Rob says, addressing the topic of “Move’s” success versus that of “Smooth.”

“When I do something and I’m creative and I’m listening to that frequency in the universe that gives me a song, then I feel like I’ve already succeeded,” the Matchbox Twenty frontman states. “And I think the only time that I fail is if I stop listening to that — or I start trying to control it.”

In addition to “Move,” which in addition to Carlos also features American Authors, Rob has a new holiday album out, Something About Christmas Time.

Debuting on Hulu on Veterans Day, the ABC News documentary ‘3212 Un-Redacted’

Debuting on Hulu today, Veterans Day, is the ABC News-produced documentary 3212 Un-Redacted.

The film centers on a military operation in 2017 that resulted in the deaths of four U.S. Special Forces soldiers, killed in an ambush by ISIS fighters near Tongo Tongo, Niger, and the Pentagon cover-up afterward.

The investigations into the operation resulted in the families of the fallen — Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright, Sgt. 1st Class Jeremiah Johnson, Staff Sgt. Bryan Black and Sgt. LaDavid Johnson — being lied to to protect senior military members.

“The conclusion of the first major investigation by United States Africa Command, which oversees operations on the continent, was that this team [3212] had embarked on a rogue mission which was intended to capture or kill a senior ISIS commander,” says ABC News’ James Gordon Meek, one of the film’s producers. “They said that these men were — again, most of them were Green Berets — ‘poorly trained and ill-prepared, and did not have basic soldiers skills to engage in such an operation.'”

“What they didn’t tell [the families] was the involvement of CIA, which was part of the mission,” Meek continues. “And most importantly, they didn’t tell them that the ground commander, Capt. Mike Perozeni, had actually pushed back on the missions that he was supposedly ‘going rogue; to carry out… [H]e made repeated calls and texts to his superiors, saying, ‘This is a bad idea…'”

Those who survived were investigated, and their reputations sullied.

Meek says releasing the film today is a reminder of the importance of Veterans Day, and its focus on those who fought, and who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

“As Congressman Mike Waltz says in the film, there’s no exception. The family should always be told the full truth, and they were not in this case,” Meek adds.

Jack White to release two new albums in 2022; watch video for “Taking Me Back” now

Get ready for a double dose of Jack White in 2022.

The White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather rocker has announced not one, but two new solo albums to be released next year. The first, titled Fear of the Dawn, will arrive April 8, followed by the second, Entering Heaven Alive, dropping July 22.

The records mark White’s fourth and fifth solo releases, and his first since 2018’s Boarding House Reach.

White’s single “Taking Me Back,” which just dropped in October, is the opening track off Fear of the Dawn. The acoustic version of the song, dubbed “Taking Me Back (Gently),” closes out Entering Heaven Alive.

Along with the album announcements, White has premiered the video for “Taking Me Back,” which finds him rocking both guitar and drums while showing off his new blue hairstyle. You can watch it now streaming on YouTube.

Korn announces new album, ‘Requiem’; listen to single “Start the Healing” now

Korn has announced a new album called Requiem.

The 14th studio effort from the “Freak on a Leash” metallers will arrive February 4, 2022. It’s the follow-up to 2019’s The Nothing.

Meghan Trainor opens up about her big “parenting fail”

Meghan Trainor is a first-time mom, which means she’s still learning her fair share of painful parenting lessons. However, she hopes that by sharing her biggest parenting fail “so far,” she can spare other moms from the same embarrassment.

The Grammy winner revealed to Ellen DeGeneres‘ Mom Confessions that she and husband Daryl Sabara would take their newborn son, Riley, out on morning walks. But instead of giving the baby some fresh air and sunshine, they accidentally gave him heat rash.

“We would take him on these walks out here in California, and I would come home and he would have these little red bumps all over him,” said Trainor, 27. “I sent pictures to my pediatrician after the third day in a row, and I was like, ‘What’s going on? I rub cream on him. I don’t know what this is!'”

After finding out that Riley had heat rash, the Clash of the Cover Bands judge sheepishly admitted, “I was boiling my son on my morning walks. So, don’t do that!”

Mayo Clinic says infants can develop heat rash in hot, humid weather. However, the biggest culprit is overdressing, with the institution advising parents to dress their infants in lightweight, cool clothing when in those conditions.

Mayo Clinic says heat rashes go away on their own, but notes that cool baths or being taken out of the hot temperatures can also help.

Cranberry production stays afloat with price increases, other Thanksgiving items with lower inventory

(NEW YORK) — With supply chain issues hitting the fresh food industry, due to delays and struggles to get products from farms to store shelves, certain Thanksgiving staples like cranberries will have a steeper cost and potentially less stock.

Ocean Spray president and CEO Tom Hayes joined Good Morning America on Thursday to address the upcoming run on Thanksgiving items and how his company’s signature fruit has had to stay afloat amid supply chain woes.

“Ocean Spray has had supply chain challenges, the whole industry has. We will continue to do our best to keep supplies going and supplies on shelves, but we’ve had to be resilient this year,” Hayes said. “We’re owned by 700 family farms and they continue to do everything they have for 90 years to keep the supply flowing, but it has been a challenge. Whether it’s steel cans and making supply chain adjustments, we have had to do it, and this year has been difficult of course.”

When it comes to price forecasting, Hayes explained that his company “unfortunately” has to pass on the rising production costs to consumers.

“That’s just a reality. We have a lot of costs going up — all ingredients, transportation. It is something that is continuing to affect us as a company and we do have to pass those on,” he said. “Remember, they’re family farms, so we have to make sure they have a livelihood too and we’re balancing that. We haven’t taken pricing in 10 years at Ocean Spray. We’re doing our best to keep costs down, but we have taken pricing and are looking forward to still having a great season.”

By the end of October, there were already some shortages on other crucial Thanksgiving items.

Turkeys were 60% out of stock, which was a little more than half of stock compared to the same time last year. Yams and sweet potatoes were 25% out of stock, while stock on refrigerated pies were down 5% and cranberries were 20% out of stock.

If consumers shop early, those products should be available, but — with price increases at the highest in 30 years — they will cost more.

To save some money on the total bill, experts recommend shopping now for non-perishable items and considering a potluck style Thanksgiving to spread the cost around.

“This is our super bowl at Ocean Spray,” Hayes said. “We are working day in and day out, all night in a lot of cases, to deliver products to the market.”

“My advice is to be absolutely flexible. Whether it’s jellied, whole or fresh cranberries,” he added. “Plan early and make sure you get to the grocery store. It will be a happy Thanksgiving, but you have to demonstrate more flexibility than you have in the past.”
