Well, you can’t have a billion dollar fashion and cosmetics empire without the people’s support, so it’s fitting that Kim Kardashian West will be honored with The Fashion Icon award at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards.

The announcement singles out Kim’s “keen fashion sense, unprecedented entrepreneurial success,” and for, “single-handedly transforming the fashion industry through her innovative designs and trend-setting style over the past decade.”

KKW has managed to turn reality show stardom into a brand that brings in big bucks through her successful Skims shapewear and lounge lines, as well as her KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance offerings. She even launched a mobile game in 2016 that generated over $50 million.

In April of this year, Kim made Forbes‘ billionaire list thanks to her endeavors.

“For nearly two decades, Kim Kardashian West’s style evolution has disrupted and influenced trends on a global level and cemented herself as a force to be reckoned with within the fashion industry,” according to NBCUniversal Entertainment Television and Streaming’s Executive Vice President Jen Neal.

“For being a cultural inspiration, trailblazer and so much more, we can’t wait to honor Kim with this year’s ‘People’s Fashion Icon’ award.”

The 2021 People’s Choice Awards will take place live on Tuesday, December 7 at 9pm ET/PT at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The event will be simultaneously broadcast on both NBC and E!.

Megan Thee Stallion has canceled her scheduled Friday concert in Houston “out of respect for the lives lost” in the Astroworld Festival tragedy. Ten people died, and hundreds were injured in a crowd surge at the event on November 5 at Houston’s NRG Park.

“I have decided to cancel my show at 713 Music Hall on December 3,” the three-time Grammy winner said in a statement to the Houston Chronicle. “Houston is still healing and it’s important that our community be given the appropriate time to grieve. My heart goes out to all the families that are suffering during this difficult time.”

As previously reported, Hot Girl Meg was scheduled to perform at the grand opening of the city’s newest music venue.

Sunday night, she joined BTS to perform the “Butter” remix for over 50,000 fans at Sofi Stadium in LA. Meg was scheduled to join the group on stage during the American Music Awards on November 21, but pulled out at the last minute because of an unknown personal matter.

Last week, Thee Stallion earned two Grammy nominations: Best Rap Performance for “Thot Sh**,” and Album of the Year for Lil Nas X‘s Montero as a songwriter on “Dolla Sign Slime.” Now the 26-year-old entertainer is looking forward to graduating on December 11 with a bachelor’s degree in health administration from Texas Southern University.

Though Kelsea Ballerini has been off the road for a month following an opening stint on the Jonas Brothers tour, she’s taken a walk down memory lane by posting an unforgettable performance from one of those shows on her Twitter feed that features her duetting with the lead singer of the pop group LANY

Kelsea spent much of 2021 opening for the Jonas Brothers on The Remember This Tour. One of the stops was at Boston’s historic Fenway Park where LANY’s Paul Klein joined the country star for a surprise performance of their hit “I Quit Drinking.”

Kelsea is now reliving this moment, posting a clip that shows her strutting around the stage in a sparkling blue jumpsuit trading vocals with the LANY frontman as graphics of storm clouds and falling rain are shown on a video screen in the background. The two end the performance with a sweet hug.

“Missing tour so i thought it was a good time to share this gem of a memory with you,” Kelsea reflects in the caption. “Hands down one of my favorite tour moments ever ever.”

One fan comments about the video, “This song… this performance… so beautiful!” while another agrees, writing, “Love this it’s so beautiful!”

Kelsea and Paul co-wrote “I Quit Drinking” with Nicolle Galyon. It reached the top 30 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and is inside the top 20 on the all-genre Billboard Adult Top 40 chart.

Amazon Prime Video has released the first teaser to the fourth season of its Emmy-winning comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which debuts on February 18.

The snippet shows a determined Rachel Brosnahan as Midge Maisel after a season-three capper that saw the stand-up comic getting the boot as the opening act of singer Shy Baldwin’s tour, after joking about his sexuality.

Unfazed, Maisel’s looking for a comeback as she plots with her manager, Susie, played by fellow Emmy-winner Alex Borstein

“No more opening act gigs. I will only do gigs where I can say what I want. That’s what Lenny would do,” says Midge.

“That’s different, he’s Lenny Bruce!” Susie replies, referring to the legendary comic played by Luke Kirby in the show.

“Then make me Lenny Bruce, make me a headliner,” Midge says. “You’re my manager — manage me!”

Susie replies, “That’s not how the business works,” to which Midge counters, “Then let’s change the business.”

The family of 9-year-old Ezra Blount, who died as a result of the Astroworld Festival tragedy, will not accept Travis Scott‘s offer to pay for his funeral.

Blount passed away on November 14 after suffering severe injuries when he was trampled in a crowd surge at the November 5 concert at Houston’s NRG Park. He died after spending days in a medically induced coma.

Scott, who organized and headlined the event, offered to pay funeral costs for all 10 people who died as a result of the crowd surge.

“Your client’s offer is declined,” Blount family lawyer Bob Hilliard wrote to Scott’s attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, according to Insider.com. “I have no doubt Mr. Scott feels remorse. His journey ahead will be painful. He must face and hopefully see that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy.”

Petrocelli previously wrote to the Blount family, “Travis is devastated by the tragedy that occurred at the Astroworld Festival and grieves for the families whose loved ones died or were injured. Travis is committed to doing his part to help the families who have suffered and begin the long process of healing in the Houston community. Toward that end, Travis would like to pay for the funeral expenses for Mr. Blount’s son.”

Blount’s father, Treston Blount, has filed a $1 million lawsuit against Scott and the event’s organizers. As previously reported, numerous lawsuits have been filed, including a $2 billion lawsuit for damages and injuries on behalf of 282 victims.

Jon Bon Jovi, KISS bassist/singer Gene Simmons, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, and Green Day are among the music stars taking part in a charity initiative celebrating Giving Tuesday.

The campaign, launched by Bandsintown in partnership and the charitable fundraising platform Fandiem, will offer special items and experiences from the participating artists to raise money for nonprofit organizations of their choosing. The more you donate, the more entries you’ll receive for the raffle.

Bon Jovi, Simmons and Grohl all have donated autographed, custom-designed electric guitars that will benefit Jamsz Konnections, a company that helps plan charitable events.

Pearl Jam and Green Day also have offered signed guitars, while all five Pearl Jam members have autographed a Fender Player Stratocaster that will raise money for the band’s Vitalogy Foundation, which supports environmental, homelessness and indigenous causes.

Green Day has donated a Fender Squier Strat that the band has autographed, and that also features the signatures of their fellow Hella Mega tour mates Fall Out Boy and Weezer. The sale of that instrument will benefit Reverb, a company that works to reduce the environmental footprint of touring artists, festivals and live music venues.

Other artists participating in the initiative include Matchbox Twenty‘s Rob Thomas, Evanescence‘s Amy Lee, Imagine Dragons, Jack Johnson, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, My Morning Jacket, Willie Nelson, and Taylor Swift.

Shawn Mendes teases new single and promises “it’ll be okay”

Instead of nursing a broken heart, Shawn Mendes jumped into the recording studio and kept himself busy.  The “Stitches” singer now appears poised to kick off his next music era and confirmed a new song is on the way.

Shawn, who recently parted ways with longtime girlfriend Camila Cabello, posted a mysterious message for his 65 million Instagram followers on Tuesday, telling them, “it’ll be okay, tomorrow.”

He also shared a 12-second clip of a new song, presumably called “It’ll Be Okay,” and it sounds sonically different from what we heard on his lovestruck Wonder album.  Shawn’s voice is low and vulnerable in the snippet as he sings, “Are we gonna make it?/ Is this gonna hurt?”  The only instrument featured in the clip is an organ-like synth that slowly plays three descending notes.

This will be Shawn’s first post-breakup song and, based on what we heard in this clip, it’s a pretty safe bet that’s what he’ll be singing about.

Shawn and Camila dated for about two years.  Prior to going their separate ways, Shawn confirmed in his Wonder documentary on Netflix that “every song I’ve ever wrote” was about the “Havana” singer.  “It’ll Be Okay” appears to continue the trend…at least for now.

Heartbreak anthems are currently ruling the Billboard Hot 100, with Adele‘s “Easy on Me” and Taylor Swift‘s “All Too Well” both going to number one, so Shawn picked a good time to unleash his tearjerker.

Go stock up on those tissues and pints of ice cream, because you might be reaching for them when “It’ll Be Okay” drops Wednesday, December 1, at 7 p.m. ET.
