(WASHINGTON) — President Joe Biden formally asked Congress on Thursday for $33 billion in supplemental aid for Ukraine over the next five months to help counter Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion over the long term.

“The cost of this fight is not cheap. But caving to aggression is going to be more costly if we allow it to happen,” Biden said. “It’s critical this funding gets approved and approved as quickly as possible.”

“We’re not attacking Russia. We’re helping Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression,” he added. “And just as Putin chose to launch this brutal invasion, he could make the choice to end it, this brutal invasion. Russia is the aggressor, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Russia is the aggressor, and the world must and will hold Russia accountable.”

Biden said the supplemental budget request will allow weapons and ammunition to flow “without interruption to the brave Ukrainian fighters” and the U.S. to continue delivering economic and humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people, whom he said are paying the real price of this fight with their lives.

Over $20 billion of the $33 billion would be for military and other security systems, the White House said. Biden is also asking for an additional $8.5 billion in economic assistance to help provide basic services to the Ukrainian people and $3 billion in humanitarian assistance and food security funding.

Part of the package also includes targeted funding to address economic disruptions in the U.S. as a result of the war in Ukraine, like helping increase U.S. production of wheat and soybeans, “and funding to allow the use of the Defense Production Act to expand domestic production of critical reserves — of reserves of critical minerals and materials that have been disrupted by Putin’s war and are necessary to make everything from defense systems to cars,” a senior administration official said ahead of Biden’s remarks.

Biden said he was also sending lawmakers another comprehensive package to enhance our effort to sanction Russian oligarchs and “take their ill-begotten gains.”

As billions in additional COVID funding remains stalled in Congress, asked if that funding should be tied to the Ukraine aid, Biden said, “I don’t care how they do it — I’m sending them both up.”

Ozzy Osbourne has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 73-year-old Black Sabbath legend’s wife Sharon Osbourne revealed the news in an interview on the U.K.’s Talk TV Thursday. Sharon, who’s currently in the U.K. while Ozzy is in Los Angeles, said that she spoke to her husband and that he’s “OK,” while adding that she’s “very worried” about him.

“We’ve gone two years without him catching COVID,” Sharon said through tears. “It’s just Ozzy’s luck he would get it now.”

She added that she’s returning to L.A. to be with Ozzy so that she can “hold him and kiss him with about three masks on.”

Sharon had just started a new show on Talk TV called The Talk, not to be confused with the CBS show The Talk that she used to co-host before her controversial exit in 2021. In returning home to Ozzy, she says she’ll miss a week before returning to the U.K. The Talk.

“I know my husband,” Sharon said. “We’re gonna get him back on his feet and we’re going to get a negative test by next week.”

Various members of the Osbourne family have contracted COVID-19 over the pandemic, including Sharon and several of her and Ozzy’s grandchildren.

Ozzy received his first COVID-19 vaccine in February 2021.

In an interview with Metal Hammer last October, Ozzy joked that being a “devil worshipper” helped him avoid catching the virus.

(GULFPORT, Miss.) — Four people were gunned down across two neighboring Mississippi cities Wednesday morning, allegedly by the same gunman, according to police.

The first shooting was reported at about 9:11 a.m. Wednesday at a Broadway Inn Express motel in Biloxi, police said.

Three victims — two men and one woman — were found dead at the scene, police said.

They were identified by the coroner’s office as Mohammad Moeini, 51, Chad Green, 55, and Laura Lehman, 61.

The suspect, 32-year-old Jeremy Reynolds, allegedly fled the motel in one of the victim’s cars and drove to nearby Gulfport, police said.

The second shooting — which left 52-year-old William Waltman dead — was reported in Gulfport at about 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, according to Gulfport police and the coroner’s office.

Witnesses said Reynolds fled that scene in a stolen car belonging to the city of Gulfport, police said.

Police tracked down the car and said Reynolds fled on foot to a convenience store. Two employees escaped the store as Reynolds barricaded himself inside, police said.

After multiple attempts to contact him, a SWAT team entered the store where they found Reynolds dead inside “from unknown circumstances,” police said. His autopsy has not been conducted yet, according to the coroner’s office.

A motive was not immediately clear, police said.

BTS is back and rested from their mini-hiatus.  Right out of the gate, the septet has several big collaborations with Snoop Dogg and PSY coming out soon.

Snoop shared an update with The Buzz about his forthcoming collab, telling the outlet that he’s done with his half.  “You gotta talk to them,” he remarked in response to when the song is coming out, “But my parts are in!”

BTS has long admired Snoop and referenced his music in their 2014 track “Hip Hop Phile.”  They previously expressed they wanted to work with the rapper and those dreams came true when Snoop hinted on the Mogul Talk podcast in January that BTS is “waiting on me to do a song with them right now.”  Not much else is known about the mysterious track.

That’s not the only major collab coming down the pipeline. BTS’ Sugarecently teamed with K-pop sensation PSY for his forthcoming album, PSY 9th.  The two worked together on the song “That That,” which fans will hear on Friday.

Suga said in a promotional video of working with the “Gangnam Style” rapper, “To be honest, I haven’t gotten that close with anyone I collab with, it’s because I’m not usually the type to meet up with collaborators in person… But he wanted to see me in person.”

Suga said he was originally approached to produce PSY’s music, but things turned into a full-blown collaborative track with the BTS singer performing on the track and it’s forthcoming music video.  “I seriously didn’t expect to be dancing with PSY,” he remarked. “I thought I was only writing the song!”

“That That” drops Friday at 6 p.m. Korean time, about 5:00 a.m. Eastern.  The music video features intense choreography and will feature PSY and Suga dressed as cowboys.

Iggy Pop and Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe guest on a new song from the metal band ONI.

The track, titled “Secrets,” features the Godfather of Punk giving a spooky, spoken-word rendition of the chorus while Blythe delivers his signature growling vocals.

“Secrets” is available now via digital outlets, and will be included on the upcoming ONI album Loathing Light, due out June 17. Both Pop and Blythe also appear in the “Secrets” video, which is streaming now on YouTube.

Pop, who just celebrated his 75th birthday last week, collaborated with Måneskin last summer on a new version of the buzzy Italian band’s single “I Wanna Be Your Slave.” Blythe and Lamb of God, meanwhile, teamed up with Dave Mustaine earlier this month for a new recording of Megadeth‘s “Wake Up Dead” to promote their Metal Tour of the Year.

Justin Bieber goes into uncle mode when holding Jason Kennedy’s newborn son

It’s no secret Justin Bieber adores babies and wants a family of his own, but for now he’s content with cuddling his friends’ newborns.

In a series of sweet snaps, the “Ghost” singer is seen bonding with friend Jason Kennedy‘s baby boy, Ryver Rhodes.  “LOVE YOU RYVER 4 LIFE I WILL PROTECT YOU!,” Justin captioned the photos of the two cuddling on the couch.

Justin then returned with more photos that showed him grinning as he bottle fed the infant. “More pictures of me and mister RYVER RHODES KENNEDY,” he captioned the pic.

Kennedy previously designated Justin as Ryver’s uncle and it appears the “Peaches” singer is taking his new title very seriously.

As for when Justin and wife Hailey Bieber will have kids of their own, the two have refused to provide a timeline.  The couple wed in 2018 and have been open about their desire to have kids, which has caused them to weather pregnancy rumors now and again — most recently following the 2022 Grammy Awards, when Hailey wore a flowing white Saint Laurent dress to the event.  The dress’ loose fit sparked rumors that Hailey was hiding a baby bump, but the model shut down the rumors.

Justin previously said he’s “not in a rush” to start a family and his comments were supported by Hailey’s recent interview with WSJ, in which she remarked, “I think ideally in the next couple of years we would try. But there’s a reason they call it try, right? You don’t know how long that process is ever going to take.”

If you want to take an “Escapade” through one of Janet Jackson‘s homes, you’re in luck.  She just listed her sprawling apartment in New York City for a cool $9 million.

Mansion Global reports the upscale 34th-floor property is located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, and offers breathtaking, panoramic views of the city skyline an Central Park, thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows.  The spacious, 2,094 square foot apartment comes with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bath.

The residence also includes a marble bath, walk-in closets, a library, gourmet kitchen, two entrances designed for entertaining and an open concept living space.

The perks continue with the building itself.  It’s attached to the Trump International Hotel, which offers a state-of-the-art gym, spa, swimming pool, housekeeping services, 24-hour room service from French chef Jean-Georges, valet parking, concierge, and a full-time doorman.

“Whenever entering my apartment of 25 years, I always treasured my home’s wonderful location and the breathtaking views that capture the magic and excitement of New York,” Janet’s quoted in the listing as saying. “Stepping through its threshold instantly made me feel so tranquil and at peace — so many memories.”

The “All For You” singer purchased the apartment in 1998 for $2.8 million but she hasn’t lived in it since 2019, so she put it on the market for $8.995 million.  The reason Janet decided to part with her home is because “it’s time for someone else to enjoy it and make new memories,” her spokesperson said.

Halyna Hutchins’ widower slams investigators for release of information in ‘Rust’ shooting

Halyna Hutchins’ widower slams investigators for release of information in ‘Rust’ shooting
Halyna Hutchins’ widower slams investigators for release of information in ‘Rust’ shooting

In a strongly-worded letter to Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza, lawyers representing Halyna Hutchins‘ widower, Matthew, and young son Andros slammed Mendoza’s office for its release Monday of information related to the Rust investigation.

As reported Monday, the office released a trove of materials related to the fatal shooting of the cinematographer on the film’s set in October, including interviews with Alec Baldwin, who fired the fatal shot, as well as graphic footage of the attempts to save Hutchins’ life.

“Your office trampled on the constitutional rights over the Hutchins [family],” the attorneys’ letter reads, in part. “Your office promised to allow Mr. Hutchins to review the materials being publicly released in advance of their dissemination to the press…It failed to give the Hutchins [family] the dignity and privacy the New Mexico constitution affords them.”

Further, the letter asserts “The first time Mr. Hutchins saw the disturbing and unsettling video footage of his dying wife laying on the church floor was on Radar Online, an Internet website. A greater respect for the Hutchins’ constitutional rights would not have allowed this video footage to be released.”

“The potential consequences are disturbing given how information is misused on social media,” the attorneys argue. “We fear for example that this shocking footage of Andros’ mother dying may be material used by bullies to emotionally abuse him in the future.”

The attorneys also claim what’s “most troubling” is that the release of the material wasn’t legally required, they say.

The letter concludes with a demand that the sheriff’s office respects the Hutchins family’s “constitutional rights of dignity, privacy, respect, and fairness going forward,” as well as remove the video footage of Halyna.

“While the damage of publishing that video is irreparable, taking down the video will end your office’s complicity in causing further harm,” reads the letter.
