The Swedish metallers have posted an Instagram photo of guitarist Björn Gelotte working on a riff in the recording studio. In the caption, the band writes, “Here we gooooooooo.”
In Flames most recent album is 2019’s I, the Mask. Last year, they released CD reissues of their albums, from their 1994 debut Lunar Strain to 2008’s A Sense of Purpose.
This spring, In Flames will join Megadeth, Lamb of God and Trivium on the 2022 Metal Tour of the Year. They’d originally been on the 2021 bill as well before dropping off due to COVID-19 complications.
Music, Money, Madness…Jimi Hendrix in Maui, the 2020 documentary focusing on two legendary 1970 shows that the Jimi Hendrix Experience played in Hawaii, will be screened in select U.S. theaters on various dates in February.
The documentary, which originally was released on Blu-ray in November 2020 in conjunction with the companion album Live in Maui, tells the story of how Hendrix and his band traveled to the island of Maui during the summer of 1970 to participate in the making of the movie Rainbow Bridge by playing two free outdoor concerts on the slopes of the dormant Haleakala volcano. The shows, which took place on July 30, were attended by a few hundred local residents.
Only 17 minutes of the footage from the two sets were used in Rainbow Bridge, a poorly received 1971 movie directed by Andy Warhol associate Chuck Wein that focused on various counterculture figures on the Hawaiian island. Music, Money, Madness…Jimi Hendrix in Maui incorporates previously unseen footage from the performances and the band’s visit to the island, as well as new interviews with Experience bassist Billy Cox, Hendrix engineer Eddie Kramer, Wein, a number of Rainbow Bridge cast members and Warner Bros. label executives.
The first theatrical screenings of the documentary are scheduled for February 1 in various California cities, as well as Buffalo, New York; Oklahoma City; and Tacoma, Washington.
A special screening will be held on February 16 in Los Angeles at The Regent Theater that will feature a Q&A and conversation with Kramer, director John McDermott and Experience Hendrix CEO Janie Hendrix, Jimi’s sister.

After receiving four Grammy nominations for his latest album, Donda, including Album of The Year, Kanye West is ready to drop Donda 2.
Ye announced Thursday that he is releasing the followup next month.
“DONDA2 COMING 2 22 22 EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY FUTURE,” West revealed on Instagram with a picture of his Chicago childhood home on fire, referencing a scene from his Donda stadium listening event last summer at Soldier Field in his Chicago hometown
Donda is named after Ye’s late mother, Donda West, who passed away in 2007. She was 58.
In addition to Album of the Year, Donda earned three more Grammy nominations: Best Rap Album, Best Melodic Rap Performance for “Hurricane” featuring TheWeeknd and Lil Baby, and Best Rap Song for “Jail” featuring Jay-Z. West also received an Album of the Year nomination for Lil Nas X‘s Montero. Yeezy was recognized for his contribution as a co-producer on the triple-platinum hit “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow.
On November 14, the 22-time Grammy winner dropped the deluxe version of Donda featuring five new songs.
The new project includes three brand-new tracks — “Never Abandon Your Family,” “Up From the Ashes,” and the André 3000 assisted “Life of the Party” — in addition to “Keep My Spirit Alive pt 2,” featuring KayCyy, Conway the Machine and Westside Gunn, and “Remote Control pt 2” with Kid Cudi and Young Thug.
The original Donda was released in August 2021, and like Kanye’s previous nine studio albums, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. The only artists with more number one albums are The Beatles with 19, followed by Jay-Z with 14, and Barbra Streisand and Bruce Springsteen, each with 11. Eminem is tied with West with ten chart-topping albums.

An erratic driver crashed into a building in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood and tried to rip out the intercom system – all in a failed attempt to meet Taylor Swift, police sources tell ABC Audio.
The man drove down Franklin Street in the wrong direction, crashing into the front of a building at around 5 a.m. Thursday morning. He reversed the vehicle and drove at the building again, hitting a fire hydrant. The man then got out of his vehicle and tried to yank the intercom system from the door of the building, in an apparent attempt to get inside.
His attempts were unsuccessful, and he started walking away from the building when police arrived and took him into custody. The man was mumbling about Taylor Swift, who owns property in the neighborhood. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. Charges are likely.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the man said he wasn’t going to leave until he met with Taylor. It’s not known if she was even in the area at the time; she owns property in several different states.
This particular area of Tribeca is a frequent target of break-ins by people trying to meet the singer.
Alina Kozhevnikova, the little person looking for love on this season of TLC’s Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days has been fired by the network, over Facebook posts in which the 27-year-old apparently made numerous racist and anti-Muslim comments.
“TLC discontinued filming with Alina Kozhevnikova following the recent discovery of her past social media statements,” begins a statement from the network sent to ABC Audio.
“She will not appear on the upcoming Tell All, any future seasons of the franchise and starting next month, she will no longer appear on Before the 90 Days. TLC does not tolerate racism or discrimination of any kind.”
Fans began screenshotting the now-deleted posts, in which Kozhevnikova used the “n word” repeatedly, and made disparaging comments about Muslims in her native Russia.
One of the threads on this season’s installment of 90 Days centered on Kozhevnikova’s relationship with Caleb Greenwood, who she’d been friends with for 13 years before they decided to give romance a try.
On Instagram Monday, she attempted to defend herself, saying, “Despite what’s being said about me, my friends, family and those who met me in person know who I really am & who I am not. And I know it too,” she wrote with a heart and an hourglass emoji. “[T]he answers are coming,” the message concluded.

Cases decreasing or at plateau in most states
The U.S. is now reporting an average of 627,000 new COVID-19 cases per day — an 18% drop over the last two weeks, according to federal data.
Most states are seeing cases decreasing or at a plateau, according to federal data. Just 10 states are seeing at least a 10% increase in cases: Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Despite this positive news, cases in the U.S. are still extremely high. Since the beginning of January, more than 17.4 million new cases have been reported — that’s nearly three times the number of cases reported in every other month of the pandemic.

New Hampshire to sell rapid COVID-19 tests at liquor stores
Rapid at-home COVID-19 testing kits will soon be on sale at liquor stores across New Hampshire, according to Gov. Chris Sununu.
Sununu announced Wednesday that the New Hampshire Executive Council unanimously approved a request by the state’s Department of Health and Human Services to use federal funds from the American Rescue Plan to secure 1 million over-the-counter antigen test kits for liquor store customers. The tests are expected to hit shelves within the next two weeks.
“In addition to tax-free liquor and lottery tickets, you’ll be able to grab a tax-free test,” the governor wrote on Twitter Wednesday.
Sununu said the test kits will be sold “at cost” for about $13, which can be reimbursed through health insurance, though that will vary from company to company.

1st participant dosed in Moderna’s omicron-specific vaccine
Moderna announced Wednesday that the first participant has been dosed in the phase 2 study of its omicron-specific booster candidate, in case it becomes necessary.
Moderna’s trials will include people who received two doses of the original Moderna vaccine and people who received two doses of the original Moderna vaccine and a Moderna booster shot.
Pfizer announced Tuesday that it’s initiated clinical studies to evaluate an omicron-based vaccine for adults.

NIH trial finds mixing and matching boosters is safe and effective
A study from the National Institutes of Health published in the New England Journal of Medicine found mixing and matching boosters are safe and create a similar immune response to sticking with your initial vaccine.
An earlier version of this study, with more preliminary findings, helped guide the CDC’s decision to allow mix-and-match.
The study authors make no claims about specific combinations being more or less effective. The study did find that people who got an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) and then received the Johnson & Johnson booster had a significant increase in T-cell response, a part of immunity.
The trial looked at 458 participants who received a vaccine with no prior COVID-19 infection. This data is only for the first 29 days after receiving the booster; researchers plan to follow the participants for one year, allowing for more data.

Unvaccinated child dies in Mississippi
An unvaccinated child has died in Mississippi from COVID-19, according to the state’s health department.
The department confirmed to ABC News that the child was between the ages of 11 and 17, an age bracket that is eligible to receive Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.
This marked the 10th child — including an infant — to die in Mississippi from COVID-19. None of the 10 children were vaccinated, according to the health department.

Billboard‘s 2022 Women in Music Awards has announced its list of honorees, which includes Doja Cat, Gabby Barrett, Saweetie and many more.
Hosted by Ciara on March 2, this year’s event will be available for the public to attend — a first in the ceremony’s history. The awards show will be held at the YouTube Theater at L.A.’s Hollywood Park and tickets go on sale this Friday.
Doja Cat will receive this year’s Powerhouse Award, while “I Hope” singer Gabby will take home the Rising Star Award presented by Honda. Phoebe Bridgers will be honored with the 2022 Trailblazer Award.
Saweetie and R&B star Summer Walker will respectively take home the 2022 Game Changer Award and the Chartbreaker Award. Latin superstar Karol G will be recognized with the Rule Breaker Award, while “Something to Talk About” singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bonnie Raitt will receive the Icon Award.
Each winner is set to perform at the ceremony. A full list of performers, presenters and special guests will be announced at a later date. More honorees are also set to be announced in the future, including who’ll be named the 2022 Woman of the Year.

(SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME) In a video conversation posted to Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s official YouTube channel, Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield came together virtually to discuss uniting in the blockbuster movie.
It was the first time all three actors got to publicly unpack how their onscreen reunion as three versions of Spider-Man/Peter Parker came to be — and for once, they didn’t have to lie about it.
The film is now the sixth highest-grossing movie of all time — and it continues to climb the charts, after regaining the Number One slot at the domestic box office.
Holland opened, admitting, “I always knew that this film would be loved around the world, but I didn’t think it would be quite as massive as it has been.”
He added to his co-stars, “One of my favorite things to do at the minute is to go online and watch fans’ reactions to you guys coming in that one scene in particular,” adding, “I don’t think I could ever have imagined it as being so well received by everyone.”
While Holland has been the new face of the web-slinging hero, getting former Spidey series stars Maguire and Garfield back, actually seemed easier than one might have thought.
Producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige called each original series star to pitch their Multiverse-spanning idea. Maguire couldn’t resist the pair’s, “authentic, genuine intent of celebration and love,” for the franchise. “[I]t just was so apparent in both of them, that…I just wanted to join that.”
Garfield agreed, and commented with a laugh, “[I]f Tobey was going to do it, then I was like, ‘Well, I have no choice,’ you know? I follow Tobey to the ends of the Earth.”
