Having weathered slights like “Fatgirl” after filming 1997’s Batman and RobinAlicia Silverstone isn’t taking it anymore.

The Clueless actress took to TikTok — with the help of GAYLE‘s “abcdfu” and her own middle finger — to express just what she thought of the caption of a candid photo of her that had been posted online.

The picture she displayed was taken as she walked in the grass wearing a blue summer dress, and was described as, “Alicia Silverstone Candid Fat Photo.”

Between her smile and her middle digit, Alicia showed precisely how much she cared for — and about — the label. She also noted, “Damn. I think I look good,” followed with a crying laughing emoji and a shrugging emoji.

To The Guardian in 2020, Silverstone recalled how the weight shaming on Batman and Robin, in which she played Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, was so hurtful she “stopped loving acting for a very long time.”

Report: Britney Spears’ father wants her to sit for deposition

Britney Spears‘ ongoing legal drama intensified this week after the lawyer for her father, Jamie Spears, requested she sit for a deposition. The irony is Mr. Spears has resisted her legal team’s request to do the same.

TMZ obtained copies of an email allegedly sent by Mr. Spears’ attorney, Alex Weingarten, that states his intent to have Britney be deposed.

The email was sent Wednesday to the “Toxic” singer’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart, and it states, “We write to advise that we intend to depose your client and would like to discuss a mutually agreeable date to conduct the deposition.”

“Of course, we will also discuss scheduling Mr. Spears’ deposition with you and work with you to find a mutually agreeable date for that to proceed as well,” the letter continued.  The proposal says Jamie Spears will be first to sit for a deposition and, soon after, Britney will follow suit.

Attorney Weingarten apparently proposed for the back to back depositions to be set in March, which will either be conducted during the same week or a day apart from one another.  The letter adds, “If we have not heard from you regarding these matters by the close of business on Friday, February 4, 2022, we will proceed unilaterally.”

It is unknown what questions Britney would be asked, should she be deposed.  Since her bombshell testimony in June, she leveled numerous accusations against her family, some serious in nature.  Britney has also regularly spoken out against her family since her conservatorship was terminated in November, which means she could be asked to clarify her remarks.

Attorney Rosengart previously expressed he wants to depose Jamie Spears and have him speak on record about potential mismanagement of the conservatorship, especially on its finances following allegations the patriarch abused it for personal gain.

As Ella Mai celebrates her 2018 debut single, “Boo’d Up,” being certified seven-times platinum, she dropped her new single, “DFMU,” on Friday. This is the Grammy winner’s first single since “Not Another Love Song” in 2020. In the video, the English singer takes a ride with her man, and they make love in the back seat. The car literally submerges in a body of water, and Ella swims to safety.

Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J are collaborating again as they dropped their new single, “Backseat,” featuring Project Pat. The track is from the upcoming joint album from Khalifa and the Three 6 Mafia member which is scheduled to be released in February. The duo dropped “Pop That Trunk” in December, and previously recorded together on “Gah Damn High” off Juicy’s The Hustle Continues album in 2020.

NBA Youngboy is not allowing his house arrest in Utah to stop his creativity as he awaits trial for weapons charges. He dropped his 17th mixtape, Colors, on January 20, and now he’s collaborated with Da Baby for the video for their new track, “Hit.”

Finally, Quavo has followed up his 2021 “Strub Tha Ground” collabo with Yung Miami with his new song, “Shooters Inside My Crib.” The track is expected to be on the Migos member’s long-awaited follow-up to Quavo Huncho, his 2018 debut solo album. Quavo says his second solo project will drop later this year.

Dierks Bentley has thoughts on masking rules in schools, and he’s taking to Instagram to share his viewpoints and hear from fans.

On Friday, the singer posted a screenshot of the headline of a New York Times opinion piece, which is titled “Let Kids Take Their Masks Off After the Omicron Surge.” Written by columnist Michelle Goldberg, the article navigates the downside of long-term masking of children, and calls for a removal of mask mandates in schools after the current COVID-19 surge ends, even if future mandates have to be implemented in the future.

Dierks didn’t offer any lengthy thoughts on the issue, aside from writing “Seems like common sense” in the caption, and asking fans for their thoughts.

In addition to being a country superstar, Dierks is a father of three. His kids range in age from eight to 13 years old, so all of them are currently in school.

In musical news, Dierks has been teasing a new album that he’s working on for 2022. His current single is “Beers on Me,” a duet with Hardy and Breland.

The Peppers have been working on a new album, their first since guitarist John Frusciante rejoined the band at the end of 2019. Last October, drummer Chad Smith told Rolling Stone that the record was “almost done.”

COIN has released a new single called “Cutie.”

“Three versions of us exist at all times — the actual, superficial, and digital,” the “Talk Too Much” trio says. “These identities are always changing, each one informing the other. How can we know which is even ‘real’? How can I expect to limit someone to the context of my own self-awareness?”

“‘Cutie’ zooms in on control, change, and confusion,” the band adds. “On a lighter note, the song is about AI tasting a tangerine for the first time. Throw the ingredients in the musical blender.”

You can download “Cutie” now via digital outlets, and watch its accompanying video streaming on YouTube.

“Cutie” follows COIN’s 2021 single “Chapstick,” which currently sits in the top 20 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.

Halestorm has canceled the band’s upcoming European An Evening With tour.

The trek, which was scheduled to launch in February, was set to bring Lzzy Hale and company to intimate venues for shows filled with deep cuts and fan-favorites.

“Due to the different restrictions in all of the countries we were planning on traveling to, it is logistically impossible to bring our Evening With tour to mainland Europe this February,” Halestorm writes in a tweet.

“The good news is that we are still planning on coming to the UK + Ireland,” the band adds. “We hope all of our European Freaks understand that this was out of our control and we are looking forward to announcing shows soon!”

Halestorm just wrapped up their U.S. co-headlining tour with Evanescence earlier this month. Towards the end of the run, Halestorm’s tour bus caught fire; luckily, no one was injured.

INXS guitarist Tim Farriss loses lawsuit over 2015 boating accident in which he severed a finger

Founding INXS guitarist Tim Farriss has lost a lawsuit he brought against the owners and operators of a boat he chartered in January 2015 on which he severed a finger on his left hand when it became caught in a chain as he attempted to drop the craft’s anchor.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that a six-day hearing was held in front of the Australian state of New South Wales’ Supreme Court this past August and September, during which the 64-year-old rocker’s legal team argued that the owners of the Omega Clipper and a boat charter company were liable for damages of 622,000 Australian dollars, or about $434,000.

They claimed that Farriss hadn’t received sufficient instructions on how to operate the anchor, that the equipment should have been in better working order, and that there was inadequate signage warning of potential risks.

Farriss’ lawyer noted that although the musician’s finger was reattached surgically, it “is in a state now where he cannot play guitar.” His attorney also noted that since the accident, Tim has been “unsurprisingly depressed” because he isn’t able to compose music as he once did, or work on a farm that he’d owned that’s been subsequently sold.

However, the judge found inconsistencies in Farriss’ explanation of how the accident occurred, and deemed that there was insufficient proof that the gear wasn’t in proper working order.

Farriss was ordered to pay the defendants’ legal costs. A member of his council said the musician was “very disappointed” with the ruling and was considering his options regarding further legal action.

INXS has been inactive since 2012, when they announced their retirement from touring.
