Ladies and gentleman, Selena Gomez and Post Malone are heading to Saturday Night Live as respective host and musical guest.

The duo will take over the New York City stage on May 14.  This marks Selena’s first time as SNL host and Post’s debut as musical guest.

“Mom…I think I’ve made it,” Selena wrote on Instagram along with a crying emoji. “so grateful and so excited. See you May 14!!!”

Details about what to expect are under wraps, but both singers have plenty to promote during their SNL stint.

The second season of Selena’s Only Murders in the Building, which also stars comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short, premieres on Hulu on June 28.  The first season ended on a cliffhanger, with Selena’s character, Mabel, covered in blood and swearing she didn’t murder the building’s lead board member, Bunny.  All three main characters are led away in handcuffs.

As for Posty, his fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache arrives June 3.  He hasn’t released an album since 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding.  The “Circles” singer also recently revealed that he’s expecting a child with his girlfriend.  “I’m excited for this next chapter in my life, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” he told TMZ earlier this week.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.  This week’s host and musical guest are, respectively, Benedict Cumberbatch and alt rockers Arcade Fire.

Judah & the Lion has released a new song called “Scream!,” a track off the band’s upcoming album, Revival.

“Sometimes the best way to deal with the craziness of the world is to scream into a pillow,” says frontman Judah Akers.

“During the pandemic I was feeling the weight of all that was happening in the world and my counselor told me I needed to get that stress out,” Akers shares. “He suggested screaming as loud as I could into a pillow. Felt a bit insane, but it did help. When we wrote this song, we wanted to give you permission to do the same!”

“Scream!” is the fourth song to be released off of Revival, following “Take a Walk,” “Happy Life” and “Find Another Reason Why,” though a press release describes “Scream!” as the “lead single” off the album.

Revival, Judah & the Lion’s fourth studio effort, arrives in full on June 10. The band will launch a U.S. headlining tour in support of the record in September.

You can also catch Judah & the Lion perform at this year’s Bonnaroo in June.

The seven-track set is due out July 1. You can listen to the single “Above It All” now via digital outlets.

(NOTE LANGUAGE) At an exclusive performance at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles Thursday night, Dave Chappelle unpacked the onstage attack that happened during one of his shows Tuesday evening.

At one point, Dave was joined onstage by someone who also knows something about getting assaulted on stage: Chris Rock.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chappelle started solo, explaining that the incident, for which 23-year-old Isiah Lee was arrested, left the comedian showered with support. Dave said his teenage son hugged him after the attack and said he loved him.

“A lot of people love me, it turns out,” Chappelle told the unpublicized show’s crowd, which reportedly included Kim Kardashian, Sean “Diddy” Combs, comedian Jeff Ross, and Yasiin Bey.

Dave mentioned those who’d reached out to him after the incident, including Louis C.K., who’s continued to enjoy Chappelle’s support after the Emmy-winning comedian was embroiled in a sexual misconduct scandal.

After flying solo, Dave welcomed Rock to sit beside him, and they compared notes on their respective on-stage incidents.

“At least you got smacked by someone of repute!” Chappelle reportedly joked, noting, “I got smacked by a homeless guy with leaves in his hair.”

Rock reportedly countered by dissing Will Smith, saying “I got smacked by the softest n***a that ever rapped.”

Chappelle also revealed he felt he “had” to meet his alleged assailant to learn his motivation. According to THR, Dave said Lee appeared mentally ill, and the suspect admitted he attacked him to draw attention to the alleged assailant’s grandmother, who had been forced out of her Brooklyn neighborhood.

Los Angeles prosecutors have charged Lee with four misdemeanors, including battery. He’s being held on $30,000 bail.

Missing corrections officer withdrew about $90,000 in cash from multiple banks

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama

(NEW YORK) — Missing Florence, Alabama, jail employee Vicky White withdrew approximately $90,000 in cash from multiple banks before allegedly fleeing with an inmate suspected of murder, officials said.

Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly told ABC News the banks were local to the Lauderdale County area, but he could not say when she withdrew the money.

On April 18 — just days before she allegedly fled with inmate Casey White — Vicky White closed on the sale of her home for just over $95,000. Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton has said that investigators suspect Vicky White is “flush” with cash from the sale.

It’s now been one week since murder suspect Casey White, 38, and Lauderdale County Assistant Director of Corrections Vicky White, 56, went missing. The two are not related.

Authorities said they believe Vicky White willingly participated in the escape from the Lauderdale County jail. The pair “may be armed with an AR-15 rifle, handguns and a shotgun,” the U.S. Marshals Service said.

Vicky White and Casey White disappeared on the morning of April 29, after Vicky White allegedly told her colleagues that she was taking Casey White to the Lauderdale County Courthouse for a “mental health evaluation,” the sheriff said. He didn’t have a court appearance scheduled, Singleton said.

Vicky White also allegedly told her colleagues that she was going to seek medical attention after dropping the inmate off at court because she wasn’t feeling well, but Singleton said his office confirmed that no appointment was made.

Singleton has described Vicky White, a 17-year veteran of the department, as “an exemplary employee” until now.

Vicky White had submitted her retirement papers and the day of the escape was her last day, the sheriff said.

The pair may be driving a 2007 orange or copper Ford Edge with minor damage to the left back bumper, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

At the time of his escape, Casey White was facing two counts of capital murder for the stabbing of Connie Ridgeway in 2015, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Casey White was described by authorities as 6 feet, 9 inches tall and approximately 330 pounds, with brown hair, hazel eyes and numerous tattoos, “including some affiliated with the Alabama-based white supremacist prison gang Southern Brotherhood,” the U.S. Marshals Service said.

Vicky White was described by authorities as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and approximately 145 pounds, with brown eyes and blond hair, though the U.S. Marshals Service said Thursday that she may have tinted her hair a darker shade. She was also described as reportedly having a “waddling gait.”

Columbia Records is celebrating Bob Dylan‘s 60th anniversary as a recording artist for the label by releasing a new music video for his classic 1965 song “Subterranean Homesick Blues.”  The video’s inspired by the tune’s original promo film, which featured Dylan flipping through handwritten cue cards with select lyrics from the song.

The new visual, dubbed “Subterranean Homesick Blues 2022,” offers a dynamic video collage of segments inspired by the original lyrical cue cards, each designed by a different artist, musician or filmmaker. Among the celebs who contributed to the clip are Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Primal Scream‘s Bobby Gillespie, and filmmakers Jim Jarmusch and Wim Wenders.

You can watch the “Subterranean Homesick Blues 2022” video at the newly launched Dylan60.com microsite, which features details about each cue card that appears in the clip, as well as the original flick. The “Subterranean Homesick Blues” promo film first appeared at the beginning of director D.A. Pennebaker‘s 1967 documentary Don’t Look Back, which focused on Dylan’s 1965 U.K. tour. It included a cameo by legendary Beat poet Allen Ginsberg.

You also will have a chance to watch the new video with a special Augmented Reality lens filter that can be accessed on Instagram and Snapchat, and that allows viewers use a virtual pair of Dylan’s Ray-Ban sunglasses to watch a select 10-second segment of the “Subterranean Homesick Blues 2022” clip.

In other news, the Bob Dylan Center, which will serve as the home of over 100,000 pieces of Dylan-related memorabilia, is scheduled to open his Tuesday, May 10, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A series of special events celebrating the grand opening are taking place in Tulsa in the coming days, including concerts by Patti Smith and Elvis Costello at Cain’s Ballroom tonight and on May 7, respectively.

(NEW YORK) — At least eight people are dead from an explosion at a hotel in Havana, Cuba, apparently caused by a gas leak, officials said.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel is now at the scene of the Saratoga Hotel in Havana with other officials.

Search and rescue work continues to see if people are trapped, according to Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, first secretary of the Party in Havana.

The president’s office said 30 people have also been hospitalized.

The hotel, a popular tourist destination in the capital city, had been closed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to its Facebook page. It was currently working to get ready to reopen on May 10.

The five-story building is located in the Old Havana neighborhood and was remodeled as a hotel in the 1930s. It is located just across the street from Cuba’s National Capitol building.

Authorities said a nearby school was evacuated and no children were harmed.

“Write what you know,” the old adage says, and Pete Davidson has certainly done that for new comedy material for which he mined his “weird year” dealing with Kayne West.

As most everybody on the planet knows, the SNL star is dating West’s estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, and the Donda rapper hasn’t taken too kindly about it on social media.

“I’ve had a really weird year,” Davidson said during a recent performance as part of the streaming service’s ongoing Netflix Is A Joke festival.

“I had an AIDS scare this year,” Pete admitted. “People are like, wow…are you having a lot of unprotected sex? Are you sharing needles?’ And I’m like, ‘No. Kanye told me I have AIDS. And he’s a genius…so I should get it checked out.'”

Pete did, and declares, “My doctor said I don’t have AIDS. I just look like I have it.”

Davidson also sounded off on the custody issues between Kim and ‘Ye, noting, “Doesn’t anyone else secretly hope that Kanye pulls a Mrs. Doubtfire? I come home one day and they’re like, ‘This is the new housekeeper,’ and he’s like ‘What’s up, fam!'”

Pete also noted that given the high-profile nature of the controversy, friends really have no guidance for him.

“‘It looks pretty bad, bro. Good luck, sorry, here if you need…’ No advice, though,” Pete said to laughs.
