Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan celebrates his 60th birthday today.
Born David Rashbaum, Bryan is a co-founding member of Bon Jovi and also has co-written several of the New Jersey band’s songs, including “In My Arms,” a top-30 hit in 1993.
David was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the band in 2018.
Outside of Bon Jovi, Bryan has forged a successful career as a composer for musical theater productions. Most notably, he wrote the music for Memphis, a Broadway musical that won four Tony Awards for the 2010 season, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.
Bryan also co-wrote the music for the new Broadway production Diana the Musical, based on the life of the late Princess Diana. Unfortunately, the filmed version of the musical, which debuted on Netflix in October 2021, just earned the dubious distinction of receiving the most nominations for the 2022 Razzie Awards, “honoring” the worst in cinema.
Among the film’s nine nods is Worst Screenplay, with Bryan listed as a nominee alongside the film’s script writer and co-composer, Joe DiPietro, who also was David’s Memphis collaborator.
Back to David’s birthday, his longtime band mate Jon Bon Jovitweeted a message to him in honor of the milestone, which reads, “Sweet 16 or sweet 60? We’re still doing it my friend!” The post also features a vintage photo that includes Jon and David that was taken when they were teenagers, and a pic of the current Bon Jovi lineup.
In its first weekend in theaters, Jackass Forever not only came in first place at the box office, but it’s $23.5 million-plus performance already means that the $10 million movie is comfortably in the black.
That said, its cast is also in the black — well, black and blue — again, thanks to the long-running series’ bone-crushing stunts.
However, longtime Jackass director Jeff Tremaine and cast member Wee Man insist that the old adage of “you only hurt the ones you love” comes into play.
Tremaine suggests that the series’ success partly hinges on how long the Jackass guys have been together, since audiences can appreciate their camaraderie.
“It’s an authentic group of friends, right?” Tremaine tells ABC News. “The group that we’re doing this with is a family in a lot of ways, and so that helps you feel it even more.”
He adds, “You care about these guys, and you know their nuances and you know what they’re scared of and stuff. And so that all plays into it.”
Wee Man offers with a laugh about the audience, “The things we do, if they’re funny to us, we know it’s gonna be funny for you. And it’s always pain, and pain is what we’ve always done, but we have to go through it just to make sure the audience gets what they really need.”

Beyoncé dropped a new teaser video Sunday night for her new Valentine’s Day Ivy Park collection, dubbed Ivy Heart.
Queen Bey stars in the 60-second promo with actress and model Karrueche Tran, model and actor Tyson Beckford, singer/songwriter/actor Troye Sivan, model and actress Shu Pei, and actress/comedian Naomi Watanabe.
Speaking about Ivy Heart, Beyoncé told Vogue China, “We all have that one outfit that instantly makes us feel powerful, sexy, confident, and loved. We recognize that visceral feeling immediately. With Ivy Heart, I wanted to create a collection that makes everyone feel the joy of looking in the mirror and celebrating self-love.”
The “Be Alive” singer posed in several Instagram photos from the capsule collection with Adidas. She modeled a red tailored jumpsuit with shoulder pads, and in a second look, she’s wearing a red puffer coat and dress, with arm-length gloves and a red Ivy Park logo baseball cap. Beyoncé’s looks in the video also include a snake print, sequined duster coat and matching beret.
“We used vibrant reds, pinks, and neutrals with red as the dominant color,” she noted. “Red has always meant joy, sensuality, and love to me.”

We need to talk about Bruno again. The smash-hit song from Disney’s Encanto is officially the top song in the country for a second week in a row, making “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” the only song from a Disney animated film to lead the BillboardHot 100 for multiple weeks.
The only other song from a Disney animated film to top the Hot 100 was Aladdin‘s “A Whole New World” in 1993, which featured vocals from Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. But it only spent a week in the number-one spot.
It looks like “Bruno” is only gaining momentum. It logged its best streaming numbers yet after being listened to 37.6 million times over last week. It also sold an additional 13,600 copies, partially due to the iTunes store selling the single for 69 cents.
The Encanto soundtrack also remains the number-one album in the country for a fourth week after logging an additional 139.52 million streams and selling an additional 16,000 copies over the past week.
The last soundtrack to lead the Billboard200 for four weeks was Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper‘s A Star Is Born. The last soundtrack from a Disney movie to top the chart multiple times was 2013’s Frozen, which led the Billboard 200 for 13 weeks.
The last time a soundtrack simultaneously dominated the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 for over a week was in 2015, when, respectively, the Furious 7 soundtrackwent to number one, as did Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth‘s collaborative single, “See You Again.”
Another track off the Encanto soundtrack, Jessica Darrow‘s “Surface Pressure,” has risen to number eight on the Hot 100.
The NHL Stadium Series just got a little more countrified.
Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley are teaming up to co-headline the NHL Stadium Series when the hometown Nashville Predators play against Tampa Bay Lightning later this month.
The Preds typically play at Bridgestone Arena, but will take to the ice at the outdoor Nissan Stadium. This marks the first time the NHL Stadium Series has taken place in Music City since the series’ launch in 2014.
“Cant wait to perform with @mirandalambert at the @NHL Stadium Series game in Nashville..” Dierks says. The “Beers on Me” hitmaker was one of the many country stars who performed the national anthem when the Nashville Predators competed in the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals.
NHL Chief Content Officer Steve Mayer tells the Tennesseanthat the show will feature multiple performances and a “salute to country music.”
The game airs on NHL on TNT on February 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Coldplay has premiered the video for “Let Somebody Go,” the band’s collaboration with pop star Selena Gomez.
The black-and-white clip stars both Chris Martin and Gomez, and finds them embracing each other amid a city folding in on itself, Inception-style. You can watch it now streaming on YouTube.
“Let Somebody Go” appears on Coldplay’s new album, Music of the Spheres, which was released last October. It also includes the lead single “Higher Power,” and the hit BTS collaboration “My Universe.”
Coldplay launches a world tour in support of Music of the Spheres in March. The U.S. leg kicks off in May.

Last year, Elton John‘s Oscar viewing party went virtual, but this year, it’s returning in person — minus its namesake host.
The event on March 27 in West Hollywood Park will be the 30th annual installment of the event, which over the years has raised $515 million for Elton’s AIDS Foundation and the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
Elton currently has a concert scheduled for March 27 in Lincoln, Nebraska, so ABC News has confirmed that unfortunately, he won’t be able to attend the event himself.
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile, a good friend of Elton’s who appears on his Lockdown Sessions album, will perform at the bash. Other performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
In a statement, Elton says, “[My husband and manager] David [Furnish] and I are so grateful to celebrate 30 years of the Foundation and especially grateful to Brandi Carlile and the many fabulous guests supporting us for another magnificent night in West Hollywood Park.”
He continues, “Our success reflects the passion, commitment, and generosity of our supporters. Together, we are making a difference and bringing light and hope to people living with HIV around the world.”
Brandi adds, “Getting to perform for such a significant milestone of one of the most legendary Oscar Parties is an absolute honor.”
The 94th Annual Academy Awards will air live on March 27 on ABC.
(MINNEAPOLIS) — A Minneapolis city council committee will hold a hearing on no-knock warrants Monday afternoon following the death of Amir Locke, who was fatally shot in an apartment by Minneapolis police officers last Wednesday during the execution of a no-knock warrant.
Activists and Locke family attorneys will likely be in attendance to discuss banning these type of warrants.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey issued a moratorium on no-knock warrants late Friday in response to the fatal incident.
“No matter what information comes to light, it won’t change the fact that Amir Locke’s life was cut short,” Frey said in a statement. “To ensure safety of both the public and officers until a new policy is crafted, I’m issuing a moratorium on both the request and execution of such warrants in Minneapolis.”
However, officials may execute a no-knock warrant under the moratorium if it is determined that there is an imminent threat of harm to an individual or the public. The chief must approve the warrant in those cases, according to the mayor.
Frey will talk with the experts who helped shape Breonna’s Law to review and suggest revisions to the department’s policy. The law, issued in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2020, banned no-knock warrants following the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor.
Minneapolis Police Department updated its policy in November 2020, limiting no-knock warrants to “exigent” cases.
Minneapolis police officers are required to announce their presence and purpose before entering a home, except for when announcing the officers’ presence would create an imminent threat.
In those cases, a supervisor can authorize officers to enter without announcing their presence. Supervisors are required to provide evidence to support that decision before it is signed and approved by the judge.
“This is about proactive policymaking and instilling accountability,” Frey said in a statement announcing the new policy. “We can’t prevent every tragedy, but we can limit the likelihood of bad outcomes. This new, no-knock warrant policy will set shared expectations for our community and clear and objective standards within the department.”
In a Friday press conference regarding Locke’s death, acting Minneapolis Police Chief Amelia Huffman said that “both a no-knock and a knock search warrant were obtained … so that the SWAT team could assess the circumstances and make the best possible decision” in the Locke case.
Body camera footage released Thursday shows officers executing a no-knock search warrant before coming across 22-year-old Locke, who had been sleeping under a blanket on the couch in the apartment that the warrant was issued for.
He is seen holding a gun as he begins to sit up, still covered with the blanket before he is shot less than 10 seconds after officers entered the room.
Huffman said that when officers saw the gun, “That’s the moment when the officer had to make a split second decision to assess the circumstances and determine whether he felt like there was an articulable threat.”
Locke was not named in the no-knock warrant, according to family attorney Ben Crump said at the press conference. The warrant was being executed on behalf of St. Paul police, who were searching for a homicide suspect.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has ruled Locke’s death a homicide.
The officer who shot and killed Locke was identified by police as Mark Hanneman. In accordance with policy, he’s been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation into the incident. It is unclear if Hanneman has legal representation.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison will work with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office to review Locke’s death, the office said in a press release Friday.
Locke’s killing prompted protests demanding justice in his killing. Hundreds of demonstrators chanted, “Who’s down with the revolution? We’re down with the revolution!” and “No justice, no peace,” while marching toward the police precinct on Saturday.
A caravan of cars also pulled up to what ABC affiliate KSTP-TV reported could be Huffman’s home. Protesters got out of their cars in front of the home, chanting and banging drums.
Charlie Puth recently revealed he completely overhauled his songwriting process by being more open about himself. While he first credited TikTok for the change, it appears he first obtained permission from Elton John.
The two collaborated on Sir Elton’s The Lockdown Sessions and, while working together, Charlie asked Elton his thoughts about his music.
“He was brutally honest with me,” the Grammy nominee revealed Monday on the Kelly Clarkson Show. “He told me my 2019 music sucked, and I agree with him. It was not good… He basically said I could make a lot better music, and he said that I should just make it myself, like I always do.”
Charlie added the “Cold Heart” singer is “the first person that ever said that to me.” He also revealed he and Sir Elton are neighbors — something he didn’t realize until “Elton texted me his address.”
The “Light Switch” singer elaborated further when speaking with PopCulture about the “surreal experience” of working with Sir Elton.
When discussing the constructive criticism, Charlie said Elton agreed “[the] music that I was working on wasn’t good enough.” He said that honesty “reaffirmed to me [how] I have to truly be myself.”
Charlie also raved about working with the legendary singer, saying “he didn’t make it seem like he was Elton John” and that he “humanizes himself a lot.” The 30-year-old singer said Elton John chatted up his parents and walked them through his songwriting process — saying his folks were stunned the “entire time.”
“He kind of just sits down, and he invited my parents to come in and he started talking about how he wrote ‘Tiny Dancer,'” Charlie described. “It was a surreal experience. But I felt like I was talking to just another fellow musician. Not intimidating in the least.”

Another lesson Elton gave was how “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” came to be, which Elton co-wrote with longtime musical partner Bernie Taupin. Charlie recalled that the British singer was handed a poem and he was able to “see the music come out of the words.”
“He showcased that when he sat down on the keyboard, this keyboard that I have over here,” Charlie continued and said Elton gave him the instrument following their collaboration.
The Grammy nominee saluted Sir Elton for his “incredible genius attribute” and said he provided solid constructive criticism when looking over music Charlie felt “wasn’t very good.”
Elton agreed “[the] music that I was working on wasn’t good enough,” which Charlie said “reaffirmed to me [how] I have to truly be myself.”
