(LONDON) — The Metropolitan Police in London is investigating an apparent arson attack on four ambulances belonging to the Jewish community ambulance service, Hatzalah, in the early hours of Monday morning.
Officials said the arson attack is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime.
No injuries were reported and the fires have been put out, police said. Nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution.
“This is a deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack,” Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on social media. “My thoughts are with the Jewish community who are waking up this morning to this horrific news. Antisemitism has no place in our society.”
Police Superintendent Sarah Jackson said in a statement that no arrests have been made, but they believe there are three suspects involved.
“We know this incident will cause a great deal of community concern and officers remain on scene to carry out urgent enquiries,” Jackson said. “We are in the process of examining CCTV and are aware of online footage. We believe we are looking for three suspects at this early stage.”
Police said there were reports of explosions in the fire, which they said is believed to be linked to gas canisters on the ambulances.

(NEW YORK) — A regional Air Canada jet crashed late on Sunday into a Port Authority airport vehicle at LaGuardia Airport in New York, a collision that demolished the front of the airplane, killed two pilots, injured dozens of others and prompted the airport to shut down on Monday morning, law enforcement and aviation officials said.
At least 41 people were transferred to local hospitals after the plane, which was operated by Jazz Aviation, struck a rescue-and-firefighting vehicle that had been “responding to a separate incident,” a Port Authority spokesperson said in a statement. Two of the injured were Port Authority officers and the other 39 were passengers, officials said.
“The airport will remain closed until at least 2 p.m. Monday to allow for a thorough investigation,” the authority said.
The collision happened shortly after the plane, Air Canada Flight 8646, which was carrying four crew members and 72 passengers, touched down, according to Port Authority Executive Director Kathryn Garcia.
Jazz Aviation, which is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, issued a statement confirming the incident, saying it happened at 11:47 p.m. Air Canada said on social media that it was “aware of an incident” and that Jazz Aviation would issue updates as needed.
All passengers have been accounted for, Garcia told reporters at a pre-dawn press conference at the airport. An unaccompanied minor on the plane was reunited with their family, she said.
Thirty-two of those who had been transferred to the airport were later released, Garcia said, adding that several others had serious injuries. Two Port Authority police officers who were injured — a sergeant and an officers — were in stable condition at the hospital, she said.
The regional jet involved in the collision had traveled from Montreal to New York, according to Flightradar24, a flight information tracker. The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. Preliminary information appeared to show that the flight had landed on Runway 4 and was rolling down the runway when the collision occurred.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it was sending a team to investigate the crash. Chair Jennifer Homendy will serve as the on-scene spokesperson, accompanied by member John DeLeeuw, according to the NTSB. Those investigators were on site by the time Garcia spoke at about 4:30 a.m. ET, according to the Port Authority.
New York City Emergency Management said in a statement that its first responders were present at the airport, adding that the initial response from the Fire Department had ended.
“Units will remain on scene with a watch line that includes one engine, one ladder, and one battalion chief,” the NYCEM’s statement said. “The NTSB is on scene leading the investigation.”
The pilot and the co-pilot of the plane were killed in the crash, multiple officials briefed on the situation said earlier. The New York City Chief Medical Examiner’s Office was on-scene early on Monday, and officials were awaiting confirmation of the identities of those who were killed. Next of kin were to be notified before their names were released, officials said.
The ground vehicle — a Port Authority Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting — had requested permission and had been cleared by the air traffic controller to cross Runway 4 at taxiway Delta, according to audio recordings. Shortly after that permission was granted, an air traffic controller was heard telling the vehicle to stop several times right before the collision, according to the recordings.
At least 18 flights have been diverted from LGA following the airport’s closure, with most being sent to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport or to New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport.
A union official had earlier told ABC News that there were two individuals who had been injured in the crash, saying they were Port Authority police officers assigned to firefighter duty at LaGuardia Airport.
It “Ain’t a Bad Life” when you have two songs in country’s top 15. Just ask Jordan Davis.
At #12 is his third single from Learn the Hard Way.
“‘Turn This Truck Around’ is one that — I wanted to do it because I felt like it was different,” he tells ABC Audio. “I felt it was something we’ve never released.”
The other is his pal Thomas Rhett’s “Ain’t a Bad Life,” from the deluxe editionof his About a Woman collection.
“Me and Thomas have always talked about doing a song together and this song was perfect for it,” Jordan says. “He played it for me, and I finally pestered him enough to where he allowed me to sing on it.”
“But now they’re both doing great, so it’s really cool to have two songs out working, but man the one with Thomas is special,” he adds.
“Ain’t a Bad Life” is currently at #4 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

In recent years, Shaggy has been working with Sting, but his new single features another musical collaborator: Robin Thicke. The two have joined forces for a new single called “Looking Lovely,” which interpolates the classic 1977 Bill Withers song “Lovely Day.” Shaggy said it was his idea to flip the song and put Robin on the record.
“It’s such an iconic track … I’ve been, you know, messing with for a while,” he told ABC Audio, adding, “Once Robin and I had connected and there was this friendship between him and I, I said, ‘Yo, you’d be perfect for this.’ I think his vibe that he’s on, he sings about ladies, and me, I’m ‘Mr. Lover Lover.'”
He laughed, “I just think the whole thing is sexy, man!”
Robin said he initially didn’t want to even consider singing over an iconic track like “Lovely Day,” but Shaggy’s take on it changed his mind.
“As soon as the music kicked in, I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t wanna touch this,'” he told ABC Audio. “But then I heard his voice, and I was, like, his voice makes it fresh. It brings into a new audience into a fresh, youthful feeling. And so it just made it sound brand-new to me. And I was like, ‘O.K., with his voice, it makes [sense].’ If it was just me, I wouldn’t do it.”
The two have now performed the song a few times on TV, including on Live with Kelly & Mark. Will they get together on tour and sing it live? “Well, it’s just the beginning, and we’re both tour junkies,” Robin said. “We both love being out on the road and doing our thing, so we’ll see where the rest of the year takes us, but we’re open to it.”
Ryan Gosling stars as Ryland Grace and Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt in ‘PROJECT HAIL MARY,’ from Amazon MGM Studios. (Jonathan Olley)
In the new Ryan Gosling movieProject Hail Mary, the character of Eva Stratt, played by Sandra Hüller, performs a karaoke version of Harry Styles’ debut solo hit, “Sign of the Times.” How did that particular song end up in the movie and its soundtrack? Turns out it was Sandra Hüller’s idea.
In the movie, Sandra’s character sings the song while bidding farewell to her team. In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, the German actress, who was Oscar-nominated for her role in 2023’s Anatomy of a Fall, explains, “It came from a playlist [of] goodbye songs. So I was looking for something that was, like, a final goodbye to someone — that was the first thing.”
“And then, it was a coincidence, actually, that it was also about space, and going to the sky and all these things,” she adds. “And then I thought, ‘Wow, I didn’t know.’ I know that song, but I never made this connection in my head. … And also, when you sing it, it’s very moving, especially in the last part, where it goes, like, really big.”
“I realized in that moment when I listened to it, like, really, really closely, that it could be for us,” she continues.
She also shared with EWthat she ran the idea by her daughter: “I asked my daughter if it’s actually cool or if it’s just me who finds it cool at almost 48 [years old]. And she approved.”
In the song, Harry sings, “You can’t bribe the door on your way to the sky” and “Just stop your crying, have the time of your life/ breaking through the atmosphere.” In 2017, he told Rolling Stone that the song is written from the point of view of a mother who is dying while giving birth.

Don Cheadle has joined the team for the docuseries Vs. Goliath. Deadline reports he’s been tapped to executive produce the show with nonprofit The Solutions Project, which promotes climate justice.
The series, according to Deadline, “explores stories of everyday people from working-class communities across the U.S. taking bold action against the fossil fuel industry.”
“The climate crisis is not just about science,” Cheadle said in a statement. “It’s about justice, courage, and the people rising up to do what’s needed. Vs. Goliath spotlights communities that are being directly hurt by fossil fuel pollution, and refuse to be invisible. The series makes these communities the heroes of the battle, and stays loyal to participant-driven storytelling. I’m honored to help amplify those voices.”
“We created Vs. Goliath to spotlight the heroes of the environmental justice movement – everyday people standing up to enormous odds,” the production team added. “Having Don Cheadle join us as executive producer, with the incredible support of The Solutions Project, not only validates the urgency of this work, but also brings powerful visibility to the people and stories featured in the series.”
The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ (Disney/Randy Holmes)
The Black Crowes have released a lot of music over their almost 40-year career, but frontman Chris Robinson believes their iconic ballad “She Talks To Angels” is the one song of theirs that will stand the test of time.
In a new interview with New YorkMagazine’s Vulture column, Robinson says one reason is because “[t]hat’s the song really in people’s imagination,” adding it’s a “very inviting song.”
“I wrote that song from a dark romantic perspective as a kid who was yet to really be in the world that much,” he says, adding that when he wrote it he hadn’t yet experienced some of themes the song deals with, like addiction.
“The reason I say that song might resonate longer than any other is because I meet people all the time who say ‘She Talks to Angels’ means so much to them — whether they knew someone like that or have been through something similar personally,” Robinson says. “People share their stories with me about the song a lot, and I always find it to be really poignant and touching.”
“If you’re a songwriter, that’s what you’re shooting for, that soulful connection. It has to exist on some other levels besides just having a nice melody,” he adds. “I mean, when we play the song, we’ll still see people crying. To me, that’s what the song is for.”
“She Talks To Angels” appears on The Black Crowes’ debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, which was released in 1990.
The Black Crowes just released their 10th studio album, A Pound of Feathers. They launch a U.S. tour May 17 in Austin, Texas. A complete list of dates can be found at TheBlackCrowes.com.
