Longtime contributor Ana Navarro and former Trump administration staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin were announced Thursday as permanent co-hosts on The View.
This comes as news Sunny Hostin, the show’s resident legal analyst, also re-upped her contract to sit alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sara Haines.
Griffin is replacing Meghan McCain as the show’s conservative voice, though Navarro has also identified as Republican — despite her outspoken distaste for Republicans like Griffin’s former boss, as well as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
In a statement, The View‘s executive producer, Brian Teta, said of Navarro, “Ana has made an indelible impact on The View since the first time she joined us at the table. She is a strong, independent thinker with savvy insight, not to mention that she is whip-smart and fiercely funny.”
Teta said of Griffin, “We promised to take a little time to fill the seat and we have found the right match and a welcome addition to the show with Alyssa. She is willing to share her unique political experience and brings a strong conservative perspective while holding her own in tough debates with her co-hosts and guests on both sides of the aisle.”
Backstage, Griffin mentioned this to ABC News, saying, “I think that women’s voices are so powerful and having women from totally different backgrounds, you know, speaking out on the issues that oftentimes our politicians even kind of avoid tackling is so important. So I’m so, so excited.”
Navarro noted, “It’s been a long time coming, but this is the right time in my life, and I think for the show. And it’s always a privilege to have a platform like the one The View provides … And so I’m very thankful to be part of that panel.”
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill may be country music royalty, but their talented daughter Audrey’s got a flair for rock ‘n’ roll.
The 20-year-old put her vocal talents on full display on Instagram this week, sharing a cover of Pat Benatar’s “Fire and Ice,” a hit single from 1981. In the black-and-white clip, Audrey accompanies herself on piano as she belts out the song, showcasing multiple musical talents in one performance.
“Put on a pretty dress and attempted to sing a Pat Benatar song on piano…ATTEMPTED!” she wrote in the caption. “Excuse my yelling but I gotta have some rock on there.”
Audrey is no stranger to the spotlight. Last year, she co-starred in her dad’s music video for his single “7500 OBO.”
Tim and Faith share three daughters: Audrey, 25-year-old Gracie and23-year-old Maggie.
MAX released the official music video for his new single “Wasabi,” which pays tribute to Uma Thurman‘s Kill Bill and Mike Myers‘ Austin Powers.
The music video stars MAX and his wife, Emily Schneider, as crime fighting vigilantes while Cheaper by the Dozen star Alyson Stoner plays the comedic villain.
Schneider wears a lime green tracksuit, reminiscent of Thurman’s character The Bride, as she tracks down the goons who kidnapped her lover, MAX.
“When we wrote ‘Wasabi,’ I immediately knew I wanted something Kill Bill/Austin Powers inspired,” the singer told Rolling Stone. “My wife is a total bada**, and I knew she could pull it off and be the superstar of the video.”
“Once I found out my friend Alyson Stoner was on board to play our perfect villain, it was game over,” he added.
The track features the sensual lyrics, “Baby, you got that body/ That extra little something, wasabi/ Sweat through my shirt, takе it off me/ Come on now.”
“Wasabi” and the previously released “Gucci Bag” are slated to both appear on his forthcoming new album. MAX is heading out on tour starting this October, with a pit stop planned first in Santa Ana, California, on October 17.
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay will bring the traveling exhibit showcasing his expansive collection of rock memorabilia and other historic artifacts to the home of his football team, Lucas Oil Stadium, on September 9.
As part of the event, which is free and open to the public, Heart‘s Ann Wilson will give a special guest performance with The Jim Irsay Band, which features Irsay backed by founding R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, longtime John Mellencamp guitarist Mike Wanchic, John Fogerty touring drummer Kenny Aronoff and other noteworthy musicians.
Like the Chicago exhibition, the Indianapolis event is free and open to the public, but tickets will be required to attend and can be reserved at Eventbrite.com.
Irsay’s collection includes guitars and other items that were used and/or owned by Bob Dylan, members of The Beatles, The Who‘s Pete Townshend, Prince, Eric Clapton, The Grateful Dead‘s Jerry Garcia, Pink Floyd‘s David Gilmour, U2‘s The Edge, The Doors‘ Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and many others.
Some non-music-related items also are part of the collection, including an original John Wilkes Booth “Wanted” poster, a baseball bat used by Jackie Robinson and a robe worn by Muhammad Ali.
In addition, the upcoming exhibit will feature historic memorabilia from the Colts’ history in both Indianapolis and Baltimore, including game-used uniforms and equipment.
“I am only a steward of this collection, so it’s my job to share it with as many people as I can,” says Irsay. “That’s why we’re especially excited to share this special evening with our friends, fans and neighbors right here in Indianapolis.”

Nicki Minaj and Trina are both successful Black female rappers, but they don’t look or sound the same. Yet, a store clerk managed to get them confused when he mistook Nicki for the Miami native. Nicki recalled the incident in a video shared on her TikTok account.
“Y’all, I just came back from this meeting, right? And because, like, on my way home, I’m like, you know, I asked the driver to drop me off at this store,” she recalled. She went about her shopping trip before having an awkward encounter with the man behind the register.
“He start looking at me like, you know, he didn’t want to kind of, like, blow my cover, ’cause there’s other people waiting right behind me in the store,” Nicki continued. “So, I lean in ’cause it’s clear that he’s trying to tell me something and I don’t want to talk to you. So, he goes—and he was so serious but so excited, so I’m like, ‘Of course, global icon superstar.’ I’m thinking in my head, it’s OK.”
Nicki went on, “He leans in, and with all seriousness, he said, ‘I been listening to you all day.'” The man then revealed he was a fan of her “old school” music, specifically the song with Trick Daddy.
Nicki Minaj has never collaborated with Trick, so it’s clear the fan unknowingly praised the wrong person. It’s assumed he’s actually a fan of Trina, as she and Trick Daddy have collaborated several times throughout the course of her career.
Lizzo revealed more about her new album Special and why “About Damn Time” was its lead single.
Appearing on First We Feast’sHot Onesseries, the Grammy winner revealed it was “the last song I wrote for the album.”
“I was turning in my masters in March. I wrote ‘About Damn Time’ in February and I was like, ‘This one? Mmm, I don’t know about this one,'” she disclosed. Lizzo revealed she was hesitant about the song because “the hook wasn’t done, verses wasn’t … even there yet.”
So, she workshopped it some more to make it pop. “When I finished it, I was like ‘Oh f***, this something that needs to come out right m*********ing now!'”
Lizzo also revealed that passion to release the song was uncommon for her, adding, “I’m so bad at picking singles for myself because I think everything I do is incredible. I really do!”
The “Truth Hurts” rapper revealed she’s had that belief in herself since she was a kid — and that is why she wanted to pursue a singing career.
“My confidence that I’ve had since I was little — and my vision — has stayed true. So I really do trust my instinct. It’s the one thing I can trust in this crazy f***ing world,” she said.
Lizzo revealed that is also what inspired her to launch her Yitty shapewear line, adding it was “a very selfish dream” of hers that she wanted to make a brand that worked for her body. “It’s selfish when you’re creating it and selfless when you’re putting it out,” she added.
So, how did Lizzo handle the heat? She joked, “I feel like my ancestors was talking to me for a second” — but she powered through to the end!
(NAPA, Calif.) — Health officials are investigating a deadly outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in a northern California county.
Twelve residents of Napa County have been diagnosed and hospitalized with the rare lung infection since July 11, according to Napa County Public Health. Among those, one person has died and three people remain hospitalized, health officials said Wednesday.
As part of its investigation, the county has been testing human-made water sources, including cooling towers and decorative fountains, for the presence of the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease.
Preliminary results found “high levels” of the Legionella bacteria in a sample taken from a cooling tower at the hotel Embassy Suites Napa Valley, in the city of Napa.
The cooling tower has been taken offline, “which mitigates any ongoing risk to public health,” and the county health department said it is continuing to identify any other sources that have unsafe amounts of the bacteria.
“Our joint investigation team continues to work with Embassy Suites staff to remediate the source of exposure,” Napa County health officer Dr. Karen Relucio said in a statement. “Finding Legionella in one water sample is an important piece of the puzzle, but we must continue to investigate other cooling towers and water sources in the outbreak area, as it is common to find more than one source.”
None of the 12 patients diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease have been identified as having stayed or visited the Embassy Suites hotel, health officials said.
An Embassy Suites by Hilton Napa Valley spokesperson told ABC News that the hotel is continuing to “cooperate fully” with the county’s ongoing investigation.
“We are waiting for a full report with test results from the health department, however, remain diligent in our commitment to providing a safe, hospitable environment for all,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “In keeping with that commitment and upon learning of their concerns, we immediately contacted our consultant and water treatment provider to ensure we were following the guidance set forth by the health department and began remediation.”
Legionella bacteria grows in warm water and can become a health concern when it spreads in man-made water systems like cooling towers, hot tubs, decorative fountains and plumbing systems. People can get Legionnaires’ disease by breathing in small droplets of water containing the bacteria.
Symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease include cough, fever and difficulty breathing. It is not spread from person to person and can be treated with antibiotics when caught early.
People at higher risk of getting sick from Legionnaires’ disease, a serious type of pneumonia, include those ages 50 and older, smokers and those with chronic lung disease or compromised immune systems.
The person who died in the Napa County outbreak was over 50 and had risk factors for “severe disease,” health officials said.
“Although Legionnaires’ disease is a rare infection, this is a reminder that the bacteria that cause it are common in nature and can be found in man-made water systems,” Relucio said. “This means it’s very important for owners and managers of water systems that can create aerosols to take steps to prevent Legionella from growing and spreading in water systems.”
Health departments reported nearly 10,000 cases of Legionnaires’ disease in the U.S. in 2018, though the true number may be 1.8 to 2.7 times higher than what is reported, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About one in 10 cases are fatal, the CDC said.
Ghost has premiered a new episode in the band’s ongoing series of skits detailing the characters and lore created by frontman Tobias Forge. The latest installment, which is streaming now on YouTube, picks up where the last one left off, with the Clergy leaders telling Cardinal Copia — Forge’s alter-ego for the Prequelle album cycle — that he needs to get on TV to raise Ghost’s profile.
Cut to the Cardinal setting up a video camera and delivering his not-so-accurate readings of iconic lines from films including Star Wars, Jaws and The Matrix. After he’s done, he sends his tape out to Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.
In between trying to get on SNL, Ghost will be launching a U.S. tour in support of their latest album, Impera, which features the singles “Hunter’s Moon” and “Call Me Little Sunshine.” The outing kicks off August 26 in San Diego, and also includes Mastodon and Spiritbox on the bill.
(NOTE LANGUAGE) Ma$e, introduced to the world via Bad Boy Entertainment, has announced a potential deal with the label’s former rival. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, he revealed he’s signing with Death Row Records, recently acquired by Snoop Dogg.
“I’m on Crenshaw — just passed Pico, just passed Slauson — and I’m out here to meet with Snoop so I can do another joint venture with Death Row Records,” he said in the clip.
“I’ll be officially the first one signed to Bad Boy and Death Row. And we gon’ get the 2Pac thing rekindled. Let’s see where we go with that.”
Ma$e rapped and danced his way to the top while rocking shiny colored suits with Diddy and letting the world know about Bad Boy. He released all three of his albums under the label but believes he never got his just due.
“I felt like I did more than I got credit for, more than I got paid for,” Ma$e said in his appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. “I never got paid what I was worth and I never got the respect I was worth. So the disdain is like, ‘You’re tryna keep me here, n****?’ I’m not here. All my peers is up here. All my peers are bosses.”
If the news is true, Ma$e wouldn’t be the first artist signed to two labels at once. The deal, however, would mark a notable moment for those familiar with the history between the record companies. Bad Boy and Death Row were embroiled in tension during the East Coast and West Coast rivalry in the ’90s and following the murders of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.
Lady Gaga has found her next acting role — this time in the upcoming Joker 2. She confirmed her casting on Thursday, hinting she’ll be playing the villainous Harley Quinn.
“Joker: Folie à Deux,” Gaga announced on Instagram — the film’s title — and shared a brief teaser of the upcoming thriller set to debut in theaters in 2024.
The video, set to a red backdrop, features Gaga’s all black silhouette — except for a little red heart on her right eye — dancing to Fred Astaire‘s “Cheek to Cheek.” The heart’s placement is in the same spot as Margot Robbie‘s interpretation of Harley Quinn, which appeared in several films, including 2021’s The Suicide Squad.
The snippet also sees the return of Joaquin Phoenix‘s Joker — a role that landed him an Oscar — also appearing as a silhouette.
His shadow is posed like a marionette smoking a cigarette while Gaga, who is dressed in a long dress with puffy sleeves, strikes a menacing pose. The two shadows then join together in a dance, with the Joker’s markings around his eyes and Harley’s heart on her cheek highlighted in red.
The Grammy winner was first rumored to star as Harley Quinn of the upcoming Joker sequel earlier this summer, following reports the franchise will flirt with more musical elements. While this teaser seemingly confirms the rumors, she has yet to explicitly name the character she’s playing in the upcoming movie.
The upcoming sequel will be directed by Todd Phillips, who previously produced A Star Is Born, the 2018 remake that starred Joker producer Bradley Cooper and Gaga.
Joker: Folie à Deux laughs its way into theaters on October 4, 2024.
The first Joker movie grossed over $1 billion worldwide and picked up a pair of Oscars, including Phoenix’s Best Actor win.
