Camila Cabello showed how she made her creepy “Psychofreak” music video that featured Willow. “We decided to make a room which kind of felt like a waiting room. Jordan Peele’s final ‘Nope’ trailer reveals laughs amid danger from the sky

Jordan Peele’s final ‘Nope’ trailer reveals laughs amid danger from the sky
Universal Pictures

Oscar-winning Get Out writer-director Jordan Peele‘s upcoming thriller, Nope, has been shrouded in mystery, but a final trailer shows the plot taking shape.

Jordan’s Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer play a brother and sister who are left to pick up the pieces after their rancher father dies suddenly. However, he can’t help but shake the feeling that something killed their dad — and it has something to do with the creepy clouds that play above their homestead and the apparent alien spaceship he swears he saw.

Together, the pair set up a scheme to finally catch an alien on camera — or, as teased by Steven Yuen‘s showboating cowboy entertainer, perhaps to physically catch one to show off to a paying crowd.

However, as with all of Jordan’s thrillers, it’s likely there’s much more to the project than what appears. Moviegoers will have to see for themselves July 22.

(WASHINGTON) — The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol holds its first prime-time hearing on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The hearing will feature never-before-seen video footage and witness testimony as lawmakers aim to explain what they call a “coordinated, multi-step effort” by former President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn results of the 2020 presidential election.

Capitol Police officer, documentarian to testify

One of the first officers injured on Jan. 6, U.S. Capitol Police officer Caroline Edwards, who suffered a traumatic brain injury after she was thrown to the ground by rioters pushing bike racks, will deliver her firsthand account before the committee in a matter of hours.

Documentary filmmaker Nick Quested, who followed the Proud Boys through Washington as members of the extremist group marched on the Capitol and clashed with law enforcement, is also scheduled to testify live.

ABC News exclusively obtained some of Quested’s extraordinary material, showing how a group of Trump supporters at a presidential rally transformed into an angry mob that broke into the Capitol. Click here for more.

McCarthy dodges questions on legitimacy of 2020 election

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., wouldn’t say Thursday if President Joe Biden was the legitimate winner of the 2020 election.

ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl pressed McCarthy on the matter four times during a news conference where House Republicans preemptively slammed tonight’s hearing, calling the Jan. 6 panel “the most political and least legitimate committee in American history.”

McCarthy said Biden is the president, but declined to address the legitimacy aspect and declined to say Trump was wrong when he baselessly claimed the election was fraudulent.

The select committee has promised never-before-seen videotaped depositions from some of Trump’s closest aides and family members after Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr. all sat for interviews earlier this year.

Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows — who turned over thousands of text messages to the committee — has been described by congressional sources as an “MVP” of the hearings, as his messages have provided somewhat of a roadmap for investigators.

Biden calls Jan. 6 ‘flagrant violation of the Constitution’

President Joe Biden said a lot of Americans will learn new details about the Jan. 6 attack as lawmakers begin to reveal the findings of their 11-month investigation.

“One of the things that’s gonna occupy my country tonight, I suspect, is the first open hearings on January the 6th,” Biden said as he sat down with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Summit of the Americas on Thursday afternoon.

“And as I said when it was occurring and subsequent, I think it was a clear, flagrant violation of the Constitution,” Biden continued. “I think these guys and women broke the law, tried to turn around the result of an election. And there’s a lot of questions: who’s responsible, who’s involved?”

Jun 09, 4:11 pm
Hearing kicks off at 8 p.m.

Thursday’s hearing, the first of six scheduled in June, is the culmination of an 11-month-long investigation by the House select committee.

The nine-member panel has collected more than 140,000 documents and 1,000 witness interviews throughout the course of the investigation, and members have promised to introduce never-before-seen videos and exhibits they say will shock the public.

ABC News Television Network will air special coverage of the hearing at 8 p.m. and ABC News Live will carry gavel-to-gavel coverage.

HBO has released a first-look photo of Game of Thrones veterans Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as, respectively, Joel and Ellie in the network’s adaptation of the hit video game series The Last of Us.

As reported, the series will follow the events of the game: Mandalorian star Pascal plays Joel, a smuggler ferrying teenaged Ellie out of a dangerous quarantine zone and across a post-apocalyptic United States.

In addition to the picture, which shows Joel and Ellie hiding in the shadows, the network announced during Summer Game Fest that Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker — who respectively voiced Ellie and Joel in the game and its sequel — have also joined the cast.

However, with their roles already filled, they’ll be playing different characters.

The cast also includes Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Pierce, Anna Torv and Terminator: Dark Fate‘s Gabriel Luna.

The show is set to debut June 14, 2023.

Kelly Clarkson has released her new EP, Kellyoke, which rounds up studio versions of some of the cover songs she’s performed in the “Kellyoke” segments of her talk show. One song on the EP is one she’s never performed on the show, but she says she put it on there for a good reason.

The song in question is Whitney Houston‘s 1993 single “Queen of the Night,” from the soundtrack of The Bodyguard. In a statement, Kelly says, “I may not have performed Whitney’s ‘Queen Of The Night’ on my show yet, but little known fact is I covered that song on my very first demo tape … you could say it’s the Kellyoke that started it all!”

The rest of the EP finds Kelly covering Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou,” SHAED‘s “Trampoline,” The Weeknd‘s “Call Out My Name,” “Fake Plastic Trees” by Radiohead and Billie Eilish‘s “Happier Than Ever.”

“Over 500 songs later, and we’re still not running out of amazing artists to pay tribute to,” Kelly says.

“I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince … but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.” That’s how Rebel Wilson revealed her new girlfriend, Ramona Agruma.

The Pitch Perfect franchise star made it Instagram official Thursday, adding #LoveIsLove to the smiling pic of the pair.

Agruma is listed on Instagram as the founder of the Los Angeles-based sustainable clothing brand Lemon Ve Limon, and she’s also a brand ambassador for the jewelry company BEE GODDESS.

Wilson, 42, recently told People friends had set her up with the person she was dating, but didn’t reveal who her new squeeze was.

“We spoke on the phone for weeks before meeting. And that was a really good way to get to know each other,” she told the magazine at the time. “It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic.”

Rebel added, “I think going through the process of finding more self-worth, I think that what you want in a partner is elevated, and so it’s great to have someone who feels like an equal partner and be in a healthy relationship,” added Wilson.

While she called her exes “great,” the Senior Year star said, “There were some times that I was probably putting up with that I shouldn’t have,” adding, “it feels different to be in a really healthy relationship.”

A friend tells the magazine, “Rebel’s in an amazing place and I’ve never seen her happier.”

Incidentally, Agruma also appears in an Instagram photo Rebel posted a few weeks ago, while the star and producer was having dinner with Hermès executive Michael Coste.

Breland’s first trip to Nashville few weeks before the pandemic hit: “Unfortunate timing”

Breland’s first trip to Nashville few weeks before the pandemic hit: “Unfortunate timing”
ABC

Breland’s one of country music’s hottest rising acts today, but the pandemic nearly conspired to keep his career from taking off.

“I first visited Nashville to work on the ‘My Truck’ remix with Sam Hunt, back, like, a few weeks before the pandemic hit,” he reveals during a new interview on Trailblazers Radio With Fancy Hagood.

My Truck” — and the version featuring Sam — was Breland’s breakout hit and launched a career that quickly grew to include duets with Keith UrbanThomas Rhett, and his chart-topping “Beers on Me” collaboration with Dierks Bentley and Hardy. But back then, Breland says, he felt like he was on the cusp of big developments in his career.

“It felt like a lot of things were about to happen in a good way and then a lot of things globally happened that were quite the opposite. I don’t blame Nashville for that. It was just an unfortunate timing,” Breland says.

But on the flip side of things, the timing couldn’t have been better: If Breland had visited Music City just a few weeks later, he never would have gotten to meet some of the people who inspired him to return to Nashville and keep working on music.

“I got a really good vibe when I was here, spent a few days, met a bunch of people, and I was like, ‘Wow.’ The way that people write out here was really fascinating to me,” Breland says.

In fact, he got such a good vibe from the city that he moved to Nashville full time just a few months later.
