Here’s what’s been happening lately in the world of live rock music:

Shane Hawkins, the son of late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, paid tribute to his father with a cover of the Foos classic “My Hero.” Shane joined the band The Alive to play drums on a live rendition of the song during a July 4 neighborhood party in Laguna Beach, California.

If The Alive sounds familiar to you, that may be because the band’s usual drummer, teenager Kai Neukermans, made headlines when he filled in for Matt Cameron during a Pearl Jam show.

You can watch footage of the “My Hero” performance via TikTok.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam jammed with The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr on Saturday during the grunge band’s show in London. Marr joined PJ for covers of Neil Young‘s “Throw Your Hatred Down” and The Who‘s “Baba O’Riley.”

Pearl Jam also played in London on Friday and were joined by tennis legend John McEnroe for a rendition of Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” as well as by Who touring member Simon Townshend — younger brother of founding Who guitarist Pete Townshend — for a version of Simon’s 1983 solo tune “I Am the Answer.”

Harry Styles conspiracy theory dropped. TikTok influencer Abigail Henry started the viral rumor that Harry might actually be bald. Fans are honing in on some suspect photos of Harry dancing that show a suspicious hairline. Abigail adds Harry once boasted about being able to escape public notice very easily and — as she asks –what could be easier than removing a toupee?

Meghan Trainor has a sweet message for her younger self.  Taking to TikTok, the Grammy winner wrote, “Little insecure me would be so proud of where I am now” and shared a video montage of all her achievements, from winning a Grammy to starting a family with husband Daryl Sabara.

After Shawn Mendes had to postpone a few tour dates for his mental health, a source tells People the “Stitches” singer is “getting help.” They add, “Shawn is a very sensitive and caring guy. When he gets frustrated with things around him, he turns inward and suffers. He said he is getting help so that is admirable.”

Ed Sheeran was onstage in Cardiff for his tour during the final soccer match of the UEFA Champions League Championship — which saw Liverpool take on Real Madrid — and he revealed on TikTok that he technically didn’t miss the match. He said that while he was on stage, “I was actually getting the results of this game in my ears” and that he “asked for the score inbetween [sic] each song.”

Elton John has added a tour stop to Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on November 1, marking his first time at the venue.  The press release states that Vegas is near and dear to Sir Elton because he’s played “close to 500 shows including two highly successful multi-year residencies.”  Tickets go on sale Monday, July 18, at 10 a.m. local time.

Harry Styles notched his ninth week overall on top of the Billboard Hot 100, but Kate Bush‘s nearly 40-year-old song could overthrow him.

“As It Was” remains the country’s #1 song after fans streamed it an additional 18 million times and downloaded 5,000 additional copies in the past week.  This latest victory also allows Harry to maintain a tight grip on Billboard‘s Songs of the Summer chart, which he’s ruled for the past six weeks.

The chart runs between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

While fans can’t seem to get enough of “As It Was,” Kate Bush’s 1985 hit “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” has gained a second wind thanks to the Stranger Things season 4 finale. The song rebounded from #6 to #4 this week, thanks to fans streaming it 22.3 million times and buying up 17,000 additional copies.

Because of this, the song currently leads both the Streaming Songs and Digital Songs Sales charts.

Glass Animals also made waves on the chart thanks to “Heat Waves,” which rose to eighth place this week — its 77th overall week on the Hot 100. When looking at all the songs with the most weeks on the Hot 100, Glass Animals now ties with Dua Lipa‘s “Levitating” in fourth place.

“Heat Waves” also notches a 34th week in the top 10, which is the most out of any music group and officially bests the record set by Maroon 5‘s mammoth hit “Girls Like You.” Overall, the song is the fourth longest-running track in the top 10. The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” is the one to beat, with 57 total weeks.

Pete Davidson will make his debut on The Kardashians in the second season of his girlfriend Kim‘s reality show.

At the tail end of a trailer to September’s second season, Kim is apparently trying on — or taking off — a sequined gown in a hotel room, with some of her famous family around her.

She then calls out, “Babe, do you want to shower with me real quick?” only for the camera to pan over to the former Saturday Night Live star comically dropping his phone and jogging after her.

The sneak peek of the new season also hints we’ll see the birth of Kylie Jenner‘s second baby — the son formerly called Wolf; the wedding planning between Kourtney and Travis Barker; and Khloé and Kim discussing Blac Chyna‘s $100 million lawsuit against the Klan Kardashian.

“We’re leaving our fate in the hands of 12 random people,” Khloe says of the jury. “What if they hate us?”

C’mon, how can anybody hate the Kardashians?

The Kardashians season 2 premieres September 22 on Hulu.

Report: Meek Mill parts ways with Roc Nation management

Rapper Meek Mill has reportedly parted ways with the Jay-Z-led record label and entertainment agency, Roc Nation.

Sources allegedly informed Billboard of the split, but there is no further information on what may have caused the separation or if it was amicable.

Meek Mill entered a management deal with the Roc 10 years ago in 2012, where he earned a joint deal for his own label, Dreamchasers. In 2019, not long after his release from prison the year prior, Meek partnered with Jay-Z to create the Reform Alliance, a nonprofit organization aimed at eliminating unjust prison sentencing. The rappers forged what seemed to be a great relationship over the last decade.

Earlier this year, Meek publicly expressed frustration with his record label, Atlantic Records, for lack of support on his latest album, Expensive Pain, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

“They didn’t put nothing into expensive pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions,” he wrote on Twitter. “how would can anybody survive that … most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies ‘ I don’t.'”

He continued tweeting, airing his grievances with the label’s restrictive release terms and the handling of the relationship between him and label mate Roddy Ricch.

“So look I made Atlantic records 100’s of millions and let them rape me out out Roddy a artist they came to me about in jail … they still saying I can’t drop music until 9 months after my last album got blackballed just wrapped buildings and Nina art with talent.”

As of Monday afternoon, neither Meek nor Roc Nation have commented on the matter.

Alanis Morissette had a pretty humorous reaction to learning there is a landscaping company out there with part of her name.

A fan snapped a photo of the Alanis Landscaping company and shared it to Twitter, but it was the caption that sold it. “You Outta Mow,” the fan, named Jessica, tweeted. That post quickly went viral, amassing over 45,000 likes as of Monday afternoon, and Alanis soon jumped in on the fun.

Playing up the lyrics from her 1995 hit “You Oughta Know,” the Grammy winner retweeted the post and added in her caption, “and I’m here, to remind you of the grass you left when you went away…” She also added a crying laughing emoji.

Of course, that led to fans offering up their own play on words, with one follower responding, “Like rain on your weeding day?” Another reaction read, “10 thousand spoons when all you need is a scythe?”

Alanis Landscaping, which is based in Winters, California, has not yet responded to the unexpected shout-out.

Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi has confirmed that a scene involving Kate Bush‘s music was scrapped from the film.

Actor Christian Bale, who plays the villain Gorr the God Butcher in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe entry, previously told Total Film that Waititi had an idea for a Bush-soundtracked dance scene in the movie. Speaking to NME, Waititi shared more about what he had envisioned with using the “Running Up That Hill” artist’s music.

“There were a bunch of Kate Bush songs I wanted to have in there,” Waititi explained. “We were gonna have ‘This Woman’s Work,’ which was gonna be great for [a scene with] Natalie Portman‘s character.”

Waititi added that he had the idea before the fourth season Stranger Things made “Running Up That Hill” a phenomenon, or, as the Waititi puts it, “ruined Kate Bush.”

“I love that show, but as someone who feels a real ownership of Kate Bush music … I’m really annoyed!” he laughed. “I’ve become one of those old a***holes who’s, like, ‘These kids never listened to Kate Bush, they’ve heard one song on a TV show! They don’t know Kate Bush! I know Kate Bush!'”

Thor: Love and Thunder is in theaters now.

Marvel is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.

Lifelong Barbra Streisand fangirl Lea Michele is getting to step in the former Funny Girl‘s shoes.

The Glee veteran will play Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of the comedy beginning September 6, replacing Beanie Feldstein in the lead role.

Critics weren’t kind to the latter’s performance of the part that Streisand originated onstage and reprised on the big screen.

Feldstein said that producers were going “in a different direction” with the role. She’s now leaving July 31, but was supposed to make her exit September 25.

For her part, Michele commented on Instagram, “A dream come true is an understatement. I’m so incredibly honored to join this amazing cast and production and return to the stage playing Fanny Brice on Broadway.”

It’s not only a “dream come true,” but some pretty nifty manifestation: Michele’s character on Glee, Rachel Berry, starred in a production of Funny Girl and she performed multiple songs from the famous musical over the show’s run.

It was also announced that veteran stage and screen actress Tovah Feldshuh would be replacing Jane Lynch as Fanny’s mom; Feldshuh starts opposite Michele on September 6.

Michele’s former Glee co-star Lynch was also supposed to make her exit at the end of September.
