(MENDON, Mo.) — About eight cars of an Amtrak train derailed after hitting a dump truck at a public crossing in Mendon, Missouri, according to Amtrak and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Injuries have been reported but it was not immediately clear how many, Amtrak said.

Passenger Rob Nightingale, 58, told ABC News Live his car tipped to the side and he climbed through a window to escape. He said he saw a little girl crying and her family trying to comfort her.

Nightingale said he saw some people covered in blood.

The train was en route from Los Angeles to Chicago with 243 passengers on board at the time of the crash, which took place at about 1:42 p.m. local time, Amtrak said.

Missouri Public Safety officials, highway patrol troopers and other personnel are responding, Gov. Mike Parson tweeted.

Mendon is about 100 miles northeast of Kansas City, Missouri.

This comes one day after an Amtrak train collided with a car in California, killing three people.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Walker Hayes has a new song coming next month and he’s giving fans a teaser.

On Monday, Walker shared a video of himself playing the guitar riff of an unreleased new track titled “Y’all Life” that’s slated to drop July 15. Sitting in the dark with only his hands and guitar illuminated, Walker offers a listen in to the country-meets-rock melody. He also informs fans that this is one of the rare instances where the melody came to him before the lyrics.

“Still got a lil bit before this drops July 15th but imma let y’all go ahead and get hooked on this lick..Lots of people ask if I write songs lyrics or music first…I’m usually a words first guy but with this one began with this guitar riff,” he teases in the caption, adding #YallLife.

The hitmaker is working on new music as his current single, “AA,” is making its way up the top 20 on country radio.

Walker kicked off 2022 with his headlining Fancy Like Tour and has a series of festival dates throughout the summer. He’ll then embark on his first arena tour, the Glad You’re Here Tour, September through November.

Ed Sheeran has numerous awards in his trophy case, but on Sunday he was awarded one of the most meaningful honors.

Ed was granted the Freedom of the City of London — which has been given out since the 1200s! The ceremonial honor is given to those with strong ties to the city.

Ed was selected for the award because he’s a patron of the London Irish Centre, which serves as a resource for the city’s Irish population. The center provides services such as advice sessions, concerts, information, classes and more.

“I think everybody knows how much I love London and how much it’s been a part of my musical journey, so to receive the Freedom of the City today is something truly special,” the singer remarked when picking up the honor.

He noted the other recipients of the honor when declaring, “Given my family’s Irish heritage, to receive the award from London’s first Irish Lord Mayor, Vincent Keaveny, and alongside London Irish Centre friends, is a bonus.”

The other recipients were Gary Dunne and Maeve Heath, the center’s creative director and longest-serving volunteer, respectively.

“Life update…I’m an uncle now and I’m here to spoil this lil guy and sing away all the hiccups,” Brett writes alongside the sweet video, the tiny baby staring up at him while he sings.

Calling all Animals! Kesha‘s paranormal reality series arrives next week, and to get you all excited, she shared its official trailer.

“IM FREAKING OUT,” the hitmaker teased on Instagram. “Im so excited for y’all to see all the crazy s*** we caught on camera.” Kesha also said her series “literally has changed my life hand to god.”

The trailer shows Kesha visiting various haunted locations and trying to interact with ghosts, demons and whatever else goes bump in the night. “It’s about to get crazy,” she gloats in one scene. Other clips show her using an Ouija board, singing “Amazing Grace” to angry spirits and asking out loud, “Are we in danger?”

While Kesha adores all things spooky, the trailer proves that even she will scream in terror when faced with the unexplainable.

The Grammy nominee isn’t alone on her adventures, either. She’s brought some friends and professional paranormal experts along for the thrilling ride. Guests include comedian Whitney CummingsBachelorette star JoJo Fletcher and more.

In one clip, rapper Gata is seen heading out of a haunted building and declaring loudly, “I am gettin’ out of here, y’all.” It appears he’s not the only one who is sent heading for the hills, as the trailer also shows Kesha booking it down a hallway — but it’s unknown if she’s running toward or away from something spooky.

“To me, the supernatural comes naturally,” Kesha previously said in a statement. “It started with my insatiable curiosity, my eternal searching for something bigger than me.”

“I wanted to catch actual proof of the unexplainable. If we could catch these things on camera, then what else could be true?” she queried.

Conjuring Kesha premieres Friday, July 8, on Discovery+.

It was a very special weekend for Summer Walker: in addition to headlining “A Hot Summer Night in LA” Friday at the Crypto.com Arena featuring Jazmine Sullivan and Ari Lennox, she also revealed she’s pregnant.

Numerous fans asked if the “No Love” singer was expecting after she posted photos on Instagram Friday night in which she appeared to have a small baby bump. Saturday she made it official during an Instagram Live video.

“People asking me if I’m pregnant … I am and you know I’m very, very, very, very, happy about it,” the 26-year-old entertainer said. “I’m very, very excited because it’s going to be different from how it was before. It’s really peaceful, really happy, lots of help, lots of love.”

Summer, who has a 15-month-old daughter named Bubbles, says she made sure she announced her pregnancy this time after being angry about how her first pregnancy became public.

“Last time I felt very disrespected that people didn’t let me tell that myself,” she commented. “People were taking pictures of me in the store — I know it kind of comes with the job … [but] people took pictures of me and sent it to The Shade Room before I could even announce my pregnancy. I thought that was very disrespectful and it made me very, very, very, very, very upset.”

Walker is performing Saturday, July 2, at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, and she is one of the Essence June digital cover stars. Monday afternoon, she also announced two new shows on The Summer Walker Series Part II tour. The Billboard Women in Music award winner will perform August 6 in New York City and August 17 in Detroit. The tour wraps up September 2 in Las Vegas.

Warner Bros. Pictures

It was a dogfight at the box office over the weekend, but in the end, Elvis downed Maverick.

Newly revised numbers quoted by Variety show that Baz Luhrmann‘s Presley biopic beat Tom Cruise‘s sequel by around a million bucks — close, but still good enough for a first place finish.

The trade reports that Elvis made $31.1 million in its first weekend in theaters, while Top Gun: Maverick brought in $29.6 million in its fifth weekend in theaters. Earlier estimates had the movies tied at $30.5 million apiece.

That said, don’t feel bad for Tom: Maverick is the star’s biggest hit of his long career and flew past the billion-dollar mark at the global box office after just a month.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ inspires makeup palette

Marvel Studios

Sometimes, you just want your eyes to sparkle. In case you don’t have the power to control lightning to get that effect, Ulta Beauty has you covered.

The cosmetics company has revealed its “Be Worthy break apart eye shadow palette,” inspired by the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder. The kit features sparkly shades with names like Electrify, Goddess, Protector of the Cosmos, and Hero’s Journey. Naturally, there’s a shade called Love and another, Thunder.

As its name suggests, the palette breaks apart — like Thor’s hammer Mjölnir did. One side bears shades emulating the new armor of Chris Hemsworth‘s character, while the other side’s colors more closely reflect the literal glow-up Natalie Portman‘s character, Jane Foster, gets when she becomes Mighty Thor.

The set retails for $25.

Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters July 8 from Marvel Studios, which is owned by ABC News’ parent company Disney.
