Dustin Lynch has set a new chart record, as his and MacKenzie Porter‘s duet, “Thinking ‘Bout You,” is now the longest-running top-10 hit in the history of the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

After parking at #1 on the chart for six weeks, the song has now spent 27 weeks inside the top 10; it currently sits at #8. “Thinking ‘Bout You” has surpassed the record previously set by Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood‘s hit duet, “If I Didn’t Love You,” that was in the top 10 for 26 weeks.

Rounding out the list of singles that have spent the most weeks in the top 10 of the chart since its inception in 1990 are “Famous Friends” by Chris Young and Kane Brown, which spent 23 weeks in the top 10; Lonestar‘s “Amazed” at 21 weeks; and, tied with a 20-week stay, “One of Them Girls” by Lee Brice and “Somebody Like You by Keith Urban.

“Y’all keep blowing us away with this song!” Dustin commented on Instagram.

“Thinking ‘Bout You” was originally recorded with Lauren Alaina as Dustin’s duet partner and was featured on his 2020 album, Tullahoma. But he re-recorded it in 2021 with MacKenzie and it became his longest-running #1 hit.

‘Bridgerton”s second season becomes the most popular English-language series for Netflix

Netflix

The (vis)count is in: The second season of Netflix’s Bridgerton has become even more popular than its predecessor.

Referencing the show’s town gossip, the streaming service announced, “After four weeks atop the English TV list, Lady Whistledown is most pleased to reveal that Bridgerton Season 2 is now the Most Popular English language series of all time with 627.11M hours viewed, ahead of Bridgerton Season 1 in second place.

Netflix also points out that this past week was the first time one of its shows ranked in the first and second place on its Most Popular list; further, season 2 appeared in the Top 10 in 88 countries.

It should be said that “English language” is an interesting asterisk when it comes to the streamer’s records, because the show can’t hold a silver candlestick to Netflix’s all-time record holder, Korea’s Squid Game, of which 1.65 billion hours were watched in its first 28 days of release.

Greta Van Fleet frontman Josh Kiszka has issued a statement addressing the #SpeakUpGVF social media movement.

Recent posts from the “Highway Tune” rockers have seen floods of replies with the hashtag, which began in an effort to get Kiszka to respond to and delete a series of 2017 photos that feature him wearing Native American clothing. Non-Indigenous people wearing traditional Native American attire, such as a headdress, is considered by some to be cultural appropriation.

In an Instagram post Monday, Kiszka posted an open letter addressed to “Our indigenous fans.”

“I see you. I’ve taken time to listen and gather my thoughts,” Kiszka wrote. “My appreciation for indigenous culture is bigger than myself. I recognize the harm that ignorance can have on marginalized communities, something I’d never want to perpetuate.”

“Hate, disrespect, and prejudice of any kind are not welcome in this community,” he continued. “As I’ve come into adulthood, I’ve been able to grow and learn. This growth has not stopped and will not stop here.”

Kiszka adds that the Chippewa tribe, an Indigenous people with populations in the northern Midwest and Canada, had a “particularly profound impact” on his early life growing up in Michigan.

“I have made a charitable donation [to] the First Nations Development Institute to help keep indigenous traditions like theirs alive and well,” he wrote.

“Like I Love Country Music”: Kane Brown teases new single that samples Brooks & Dunn

Kane Brown is getting real country on his next single.

On Monday, Kane posted a gleeful video that shows him and his eldest daughter, Kingsley, dancing around the kitchen while wearing cowboys as his new single, which is titled “Like I Love Country Music,” plays in the background. The track finds Kane professing his love for country music, so much so that he’s incorporated a snippet of Brooks & Dunn‘s hit, “Brand New Man,” into the tune.

“You’ve got me feeling like/ I’m a brand new man,” Kane croons, followed by a clip of Ronnie Dunnrepeating the song’s title.

During the fiddle-packed song, Kane throws in a reference to Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, and asserts that the only way he’d survive on a desert island is with the love of his life — and a needle dropping on a vinyl country record.

“Baby, I love you like I love country music,” Kane sings in the chorus, bouncing his two-year-old daughter in his arms as they two-step and spin around the kitchen, the little girl giggling and smiling all the while.

“3 things! 1: This will be the new radio single (like I love country music). 2: thank you @brooksanddunn. 3: this little girl is so damn cute,” the singer captions the adorable video.

“Like I Love Country Music” follows Kane’s previous single, “Leave You Alone,” and his most recent #1 hit, “One Mississippi.”

The Doobie Brothers have released a new single from their latest studio album, 2021’s Liberté: the grooving, mid-tempo rock track “Easy.”

The tune was co-written by founding Doobies singer/guitarist Tom Johnston and the new album’s producer, John Shanks.

The band is preparing to launch a busy 2022 touring schedule that will see the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers continue their 50th anniversary trek with a lineup featuring core members Johnston, Pat Simmons and John McFee, along with returning Doobie Brothers singer/keyboardist Michael McDonald.

The group kicks things off with an eight-show Las Vegas engagement at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, running from May 13 through May 28. The tour then hits the road for a summer leg starting June 2 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and mapped out through a July 14 show in Noblesville, Indiana, followed by a series of fall concerts running from a September 2 gig in Pelham, Alabama, until an October 12 performance in Nashville.

Check out the band’s full schedule at TheDoobieBrothers.com.

In addition to the The Doobies’ busy touring schedule, the band will release Long Train Runnin’, an autobiography co-written by Johnston and Simmons, on July 26.

“Talent without training is nothing” says Luke Skywalker in the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, and it seems that Hayden Christensen took that to heart when reprising his Star Wars prequel role of Anakin Skywalker for the forthcoming series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Fans were thrilled when news broke that Christensen was returning, and the actor took the commitment to heart by binging all of the Star Wars-related content made since he first donned Darth Vader’s helmet at the close of 2005’s Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Of particular importance was the Emmy-winning animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and its follow-up, Star Wars: Rebels. The former delved deeply into the battle brother relationship between his character and Ewan McGregor‘s Obi-Wan Kenobi, which sours when Skywalker turns to the Dark Side.

The latter series also featured Vader, and climaxed with a heartbreaking confrontation between Vader and his former Clone Wars student, Ahsoka Tano.

“They did a lot with these characters in those shows,” Christensen tells Entertainment Weekly. “And they did further explore the relationship. There was interesting stuff there to learn about. It was great fun getting to go back and re-immerse yourself in this world that just continues to grow and become more and more vast.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi debuts May 27 with two episodes on Disney+.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News.
