Taylor Swift is being honored as the Songwriter-Artist of the Decade at this year’s Nashville Songwriter Awards.

The country-turned-pop superstar is being awarded for the consistent success of “Nashville-associated songs” that appeared on a variety of Billboard charts — including Country Airplay and Pop Songs — between 2010 and 2019. The Songwriter-Artist award requires that the songwriter is also the artist who recorded the songs.

While Taylor’s been working in pop for years now, some of her songs still appear on the country charts, such as “Betty,” “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” and “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version).” Her rerecorded albums Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) have also recently topped the country album charts.

Taylor will officially receive her award at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on September 20.

In a statement, Taylor’s pal Keith Urban says of Taylor’s songwriting skills, “A good songwriter can have you see the flowers in a song. A great songwriter can have you see and feel them. But, a truly gifted songwriter’s songwriter will have you see, feel and smell those roses in the window. That’s Taylor.”

He adds that Taylor is “constantly mining, digging, untethered, uncovering new forms of artistic expression and going at it in such a way that I’m not sure if she’s fearless, or just able to compartmentalize fear. What’s the difference anyway?”

Papa Roach‘s “Last Resort” has popped up in a couple unexpected places over the years, but getting covered by Silk Sonic may take the cake.

The “Leave the Door Open” duo, made up of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, debuted a rendition of the 2000 nu metal staple during a surprise club appearance amid their ongoing Las Vegas residency.

You can check out fan-shot footage of the performance posted by Twitter user @hannahsonic14.

Papa Roach, meanwhile, released a new album, Ego Trip, in April. Last year, they teamed up with TikTok musician Jeris Johnson for a new version of “Last Resort” dubbed “Last Resort (Reloaded).”

Jeff Beck recently lined up six concerts in the southern U.S. that will feature him supporting ZZ Top, and now the British guitar legend has announced a full North American headlining tour that will immediately follow those dates.

The newly added shows run from an October 1 concert in Atlanta through a November 12 performance in Reno, Nevada. The outing features over 20 dates and includes a pair of two-night engagements — October 7-8 in Port Chester, New York, and October 14-15 in Huntington, New York.

Tickets for the concerts go on sale to the general public this Friday, August 19, while presale tickets will be available starting Tuesday, August 16, at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.com (password: beck18).

Beck’s upcoming shows are in support of his new collaborative album with actor/rocker Johnny Depp, 18, which was released last month on CD and digital formats. A 180-gram black-vinyl version of the album will follow on September 30.

The 13-track collection features two Depp originals alongside an eclectic selection of covers, including songs by The Beach Boys, late Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson, The Miracles, Marvin Gaye, The Velvet Underground and The Everly Brothers.

“We were going to call the album ‘Kitchen Sink’ because we threw everything in it,” Beck explains about 18. “The only game plan we had was to play songs we like and see where they took us.”

Jeff will be accompanied on tour by bassist Rhonda Smith, drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Robert Stevenson.

Beck’s series of six dates opening for ZZ Top runs from a September 23 show in Del Valle, Texas, through a September 30 concert in Orange Beach, Alabama. Heart‘s Ann Wilson will be performing at the first three dates.

Want to know the real story of how the Lakers became the Showtime Lakers? Then the new docuseries Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers is for you.

The Hulu series, debuting Monday, details how Dr. Jerry Buss bought the team in the late ’70s and created one of the greatest dynasties in sports. NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is featured in the show, and he tells ABC Audio the secret to their success was that they “kept trying to build a family situation.”

“We never got to a point where it was develop an individual,” he explains. “It was always about all of us. And we tried to help each other.”

Abdul-Jabbar adds that this docuseries is kind of an antidote to the recent HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, which has been criticized by many former players for alleged inaccuracies.

“It’s a chance for us to tell our stories…There’s no fiction in this,” Abdul-Jabbar says.

Legacy also gets into the power struggle among Buss’s children that came after he died, which his daughter, and current Lakers president, Jeanie Buss, says was “very healing” for their family.

Additionally, the series shows how the Lakers family, fans included, bonded after several tragedies like “Magic [Johnson] having to retire because of HIV” and “the tragedy of losing Kobe and Gigi [Bryant].”

“What’s happened is Laker Nation comes together and leans on each other,” Buss shares. “And we know there’s going to be another day…where we play basketball again. And that’s how we start to heal because we grieve together.”

Overall, though, director Antoine Fuqua hopes people are left inspired.

“It’s the American dream. I think what Dr. Buss did is incredible…coming from very humble means and making his way out here…and what he brought to not only Los Angeles, to sports entertainment. Just it’s inspiring.”

In addition to reuniting on the stage, Porno for Pyros looks to be reuniting in the studio.

In a Facebook post, guitarist Peter DiStefano reveals that the Perry Farrell-led outfit is “writing and recording new music.” The post is accompanied by a photo of DiStefano and Farrell together.

The update follows a post DiStefano made in 2021, in which he wrote that he and Pyros drummer Stephen Perkins, who also plays in Jane’s Addiction with Farrell, were “Working on new Porno For Pyros songs.”

Porno for Pyros released their most recent album, Good God’s Urge, in 1996, two years before breaking up in 1998. The group got back together for their first full, public concert in 26 years during May’s Welcome to Rockville festival, and have played several one-off headlining and festival sets since, including at Farrell’s Lollapalooza.

Five Finger Death Punch is teaming up with country star Brantley Gilbert for a U.S. co-headlining tour this fall.

The joint outing launches November 9 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will wrap up in FFDP’s hometown of Las Vegas on December 17. “Outlaws & Outsiders” artist Cory Marks will also be on the bill.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 19, at 10 a.m. local time. Those who’ve signed up for the Five Finger Death Punch Legions app will have access to a presale beginning Tuesday, August 16, at 10 a.m. local time. For the full list of dates and all ticket info, visit FiveFingerDeathPunch.com.

While perhaps a strange pairing on its face, FFDP and Gilbert have worked together before, collaborating on a cover of the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band song “Blue on Black.” The cover, which also featured Shepherd and Queen guitarist Brian May, hit #1 on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in 2019.

If you prefer your Five Finger Death Punch shows to be all metal all the time, you can also catch their summer tour with Megadeth, The Hu and Fire from the Gods, which launches August 19 in Ridgefield, Washington. That same day, FFDP will release their new album, AfterLife.

Blake Shelton takes fans along for the tractor ride as he works on his farm

Blake Shelton is giving fans a peek into life on the farm.

When he’s not entertaining millions of viewers as a coach on The Voice, Blake can often be found on his 1,300-acre property just outside Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Now, fans get to see what it takes to maintain the massive farm.

For starters, Blake uses a Kubota tractor, or as he calls it, the “giant orange monster,” to keep up with the land.

“Guess what time it is, America? Way too early to be planting food plots, but I’m getting them ready!” he says excitedly while riding inside the tractor, letting out a triumphant cheer.

Blake then takes viewers out into the wide open pasture that he’s going to till to turn the “disgusting, nasty looking field look like a beautiful piece of dirt.”.

True to his word, the next clips shows the field completely overturned, with the dirt layered over the grass. “I told y’all,” he says as “Out in the Middle,” his collaboration with Zac Brown Band, plays in the background.

Blake is a native of Oklahoma and shares the property with his wife, Gwen Stefani
