David Lee Roth has debuted the latest in a series of solo recordings, a new version of Van Halen‘s classic hit “Panama” that was recorded live in a studio.

The track was posted on Diamond Dave‘s official YouTube channel along with a caption that reads, “Roth Lives! … David Lee Roth Studio Live.” The clip features an archival photo of the Van Halen frontman standing with his arms crossed as a scantily clad woman peers out of a window behind him.

According to the reliable Van Halen News Desk fan site, “Panama” was one of 14 songs that Roth recorded on May 2 of this year during a two-hour session at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles.

Accompanying Roth at the session were the current members of his solo backing band — guitarist Al Estrada, bassist Ryan Wheeler and drummer Francis Valentino.

Prior to the new rendition of “Panama,” Dave debuted a previously unreleased solo song in July called “Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway.” That song, which pays homage to his early days in Van Halen, was recorded years ago with current Rob Zombie and former David Lee Roth Band guitarist John 5.

(WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash.) — The names of 10 people who perished after a floatplane crashed in Washington’s Puget Sound were released on Tuesday, a day after a search for nine of the victims was suspended, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard called off the search around noon local time on Sunday after conducting 26 search sorties it said covered about 2,100 square nautical miles.

“The Coast Guard offers its deepest sympathies to those who lost a loved one in this tragedy,” Coast Guard Cmdr. Xochitl Castaneda, the search and rescue mission coordinator for this incident, said in a statement Tuesday morning.

Those presumed dead from the crash were identified by the Coast Guard as Jason Winters, the pilot of the aircraft, and passengers Patricia Hicks, Sandra Williams, Lauren Hilty, Ross Mickel, Luke Ludwig, Rebecca Ludwig, Joanne Mera and Gabrielle Hanna. Also killed was a child, identified as Remy Mickel, according to the Coast Guard.

The body of only one person aboard the aircraft was recovered, but the Coast Guard did not say which of the victims the remains were identified as belonging to.

The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting an investigation into the accident.

Capt. Daniel Broadhurst, the incident management branch chief for the 13th Coast Guard District, described the agonizing decision to end the search after no signs were found of the remaining nine victims or wreckage from the aircraft.

“It is always difficult when it comes time to make a decision to stop searching,” Broadhurst said in a statement Sunday. “The hearts of all the first responders go out to those who lost a family member, a loved one or a friend in the crash.”

The de Havilland DHC-3 Otter float plane crashed in Mutiny Bay off Whidbey Island around 3:10 p.m. local time Sunday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

There were 10 people onboard, nine adults and one child, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

At the time the search was suspended, rescue crews were focusing on Mutiny Bay, west of Whidbey Island, according to the Coast Guard.

“The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate,” the FAA said. “The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide additional updates.”

The NTSB said on Twitter Monday that it is sending a seven-member team to investigate the crash.

The plane was traveling from Friday Harbor on San Juan Island to Renton Municipal Airport near Seattle when it crashed, the USCG said, with the cause of the crash unknown at this time. The Coast Guard had initially said the plane was traveling from Friday Harbor to Seattle Tacoma International Airport, which it later corrected.

The Coast Guard responded to a report of the crash that was initially said to have eight adults and one child onboard, according to USCG Pacific Northwest. The USCG later corrected its statement, saying there were 10 people unaccounted for in the crash.

South Whidbey Fire/EMS said that its crew was at the scene near the west side of Whidbey Island.

Harry Styles’ “As It Was” is the longest-running #1 song of the decade

If you need more proof that 2022 is Harry Styles‘ year, just wait until you hear what Billboard is saying about him.

After fending off a hotly anticipated release from Britney Spears and Elton John from the number one spot this week, his summer smash “As It Was” continues its winning streak atop the Billboard Hot 100. This marks the song’s twelfth week overall in the number one spot.

After fans streamed the hit an additional 15.4 million times last week, in addition to buying 4,000 digital copies, “As It Was” is now the chart’s longest-running number one hit of the decade — or of the 2020s.

Harry’s hit song knocks Roddy Ricch‘s 2020 song “The Box,” which had spent 11 weeks at number one, out of the top spot.

That’s not all, reports Billboard. “As It Was” also tied a chart record for the most weeks at #2  — 21 weeks total, to be exact. The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber‘s “Stay” — which also spent 21 weeks in the second-highest spot — had previously claimed the record for the longest-running streak at number two in chart history.

As for what else Harry has going for him in 2022, he is currently on a massive tour, his third studio album Harry’s House became the first album of the year to be certified RIAA Platinum, and he’s starring in two upcoming movies — Don’t Worry Darling and My Policeman. While it’s too early to tell if these performances will score him any Academy Awards, there’s already buzz about the possibility.

On the topic of awards, we’ll find out if Harry is up for any Grammys when this year’s list of nominees is unveiled on Tuesday, November 15.

When Miranda Lambert heads to Las Vegas for her Velvet Rodeo residency next month, she’s bringing her #1 fan with her: adoring husband Brendan McLoughlin.

In fact, during a recent conversation with ET Online, Brendan says he’s planning to be at every single one of Miranda’s shows.

“I’ll be there every single night,” Brendan says. “I’ll be watching her do what she does best.”

When it comes to what Miranda does best, she says her residency’s show production will offer a classic country show — with a glitzy Vegas twist. “It’s kind of like the style I’ve been doing lately: country and Western with a lot of rhinestones and fringe … and fire, maybe. I’m very excited about that,” the singer hints.

Miranda’s Velvet Rodeo officially begins September 23, though the singer says she’s planning to head to Vegas a couple weeks prior for rehearsals.

Black Veil Brides have premiered a new single called “Saviour II.”

The track will appear on their forthcoming EP, The Mourning, due out October 21.

As its title suggests, “Saviour II” is something of a thematic sequel to Black Veil’s previously released song “Saviour,” which appears on the band’s 2011 album, Set the World on Fire.

“Black Veil Brides has always been a band deeply interwoven with our fan base and our career has been so heavily predicated on the doors that were opened for us by the passion and dedication that the BVB army has always shown for us,” says frontman Andy Biersack. “In the early days of the band our song ‘Saviour’ was written as a love letter to them, a chance to say we appreciate you and want to do right by you.”

“As the years go by and lives and times change the one thing that has always been a constant is that connection with our audience and while we are just musicians making records,” he continues. “We always want to do our best to provide entertainment, escapism and inspiration to the people who have given us this platform and this song is a chance to reaffirm that message.”

“Saviour II” is available now via digital outlets. Its accompanying video, which features BVB performing in a church, is streaming now on YouTube.

Black Veil Brides are currently on the second leg of their Trinity of Terror tour alongside Motionless in White and Ice Nine Kills. The outing will run through mid-September before a third leg kicks off Halloween night in El Paso, Texas.

Britney Spears is not done letting Sir Elton John know how thankful she is to be part of their new collab, “Hold Me Closer.” The pop star sent Sir Elton a “fabulous” gift to celebrate the song’s release, and he finally got in the mail.

“Thank you @britneyspears for the fabulous rocket salt and pepper shakers!!” the British legend tweeted on Friday alongside a photo of the chrome rocket-shaped shakers. “David [Furnish] and I love them.” He also added two red heart and rocket emojis.

Sir Elton’s gift arrived shortly before Billboard announced the collab has rocketed to the #6 spot on the Hot 100. This marks his 29th song, and Britney’s 14th, to enter the top 10.

It also should be noted the collaboration is Britney’s first top 10 offering in almost a decade. Her last, “Scream & Shout” with will.i.am, peaked at number three in February 2013.

“Hold Me Closer” was streamed 11.1 million times and sold 48,000 downloads in its first week. Its impressive sales allows the hit to top Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.

Sir Elton previously told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe he is “really happy for Britney” and explained how much the collaboration means to him. “This is someone who has been through hell, who needed some love in her life, a lot of love from a lot of people, and she’s getting it,” the singer expressed, adding he always knew Britney could sing even though some fans doubted she still could.

Sir Elton con, “What I was worried about is if she would be so nervous because she hadn’t done it for a while, but she came through it with flying colors.”

The Stranger Things episode that made Kate Bush‘s “Running Up That Hill” a resurgent hit has won an Emmy.

The Netflix series’ music supervisor Nora Felder earned the Outstanding Music Supervision prize, which was handed out during the Emmys’ two-part Creative Arts ceremony over the weekend. The award specifically recognizes Felder’s work on the episode “Chapter Four: Dear Billy.”

While “Running Up That Hill” is used throughout the latest Stranger Things season, it’s heard most prominently in “Dear Billy” when — spoiler alert — the 1985 single helps the character Max Mayfield escape from the Upside Down villain Vecna.

Following its placement in Stranger Things, “Running Up That Hill” started running up pretty much every chart it could, eventually reaching the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 — a career-first for Bush — and hitting #1 in the English artist’s home country.

The renewed interest in “Running Up that Hill” was so massive that the normally press-shy Bush made several public statements commenting on its newfound popularity and even gave a rare interview.
