Billie Eilish has been announced as a co-chair for a new music education campaign launched by the Grammy Museum.
In a statement, Grammy Museum President and CEO Michael Sticka says that the initiative, dubbed the Campaign for Music Education, aims to “democratize music education by expanding our reach into underserved communities where access to our museum and educational programs could make a huge impact and ultimately foster the next generation of music’s creators and leaders.”
“I was able to visit the Grammy Museum a lot when I was growing up,” Eilish shares. “We saw so many amazing artists perform that I never would’ve been able to see otherwise.”
“I love the exhibits and the whole experience,” the “bad guy” artist adds. “I am excited to help kids who are the same age as I was to have free access to this magical place and all that it has to offer in music education and experiences.”
Other co-chairs include Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes and Rosalía.
Hard to believe that Christina Aguilera‘s Stripped turns 20 on October 22. Ahead of her fourth album’s milestone anniversary, she announced that she’s made an all-new music video for the standout track “Beautiful.”
The singer announced on Twitter that she’ll release the new clip on October 19 and that it will contain some updated messaging to reflect today’s struggles. “Tune out and turn in. Take your space, log off, put your mind, body, and soul first,” she wrote and shared a teaser of the new video.
The clip opens to a bunch of young girls wearing teal, spandex-like outfits that show off their midriffs and legs. They are all standing in front of their phones, which are mounted to large ring lights, as they apply dramatic makeup to their faces.
As the girls prepare, they are passively listening to messaging about maintaining the perfect figure, how to look “stunning” and, also, some sexist messaging from male podcasters who insist men have it harder than women.
The new video arrives next Friday.
“Beautiful,” the second single off Stripped, was releasedon November 16, 2002. The song won the Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and was also a contender for the Song of the Year Grammy. The single peaked in second place on the Billboard Hot 100 and is currently RIAA-certified Gold.
The original music video explored the themes of eating disorders and bullying. It also gained traction for featuring a gay couple and a transgender woman. The song has since been ad
In the latest Kanye West news, Andscape, formerly known as The Undefeated, announced its popular HBO talk show TheShop will not air its recently-taped episode featuring the rapper.
As detailed in a statement provided by SpringHill Company CEO Maverick Carter, the decision stems from remarks made by Ye during the taping.
“Yesterday we taped an episode of The Shop with Kanye West,” Carter said. “Kanye was booked weeks ago and, after talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped, I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments. Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.”
Carter said that while the show “embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions,” they “have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate.”
“I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation,” Carter said. “And apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience.”
According to sources close to Andscape, during the taping, Ye reiterated the anti-Semitic remarks recently made on Twitter.
Other episode guests included rapper Jeezy and shoe designer Salehe Bembury. The show’s co-producer, LeBron James, was not present for the episode.
Artists like Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendes and Bruno Mars have been tapped by the Grammy Museum for a new music education campaign.
They, along with Billie Eilish and Rosalía, will serve as co-chairs for the Campaign for Music Education. The goal is to raise up to $5 million to support education programs in underserved communities and provide free admission to the Grammy Museum. The goal is to inspire the next generation of music makers, no matter their background.
Dua celebrated the new appointment on Instagram and wrote, “Access to music education has the power to not only shape music’s next generation, but also provides a creative outlet that is crucial to a child’s development. It gives students the opportunity to excel creatively, as well as in their academic performance beyond music.”
Shawn added in another statement, “Music education should be available to everyone so I am honoured to be a part of spreading the GRAMMY Museum’s reach and cultivating music’s next generation.”
Billie also lauded the new initiative and said, “I was able to visit the Grammy Museum a lot when I was growing up. We saw so many amazing artists perform that I never would’ve been able to see otherwise.” She added, “I am excited to help kids who are the same age as I was to have free access to this magical place and all that it has to offer in music education and experiences.”
The Grammy Museum is working with publishers, artists, music labels and more to satisfy their monetary goal. Funds raised will grant more students access to the museum and will “greatly expand their education and community programs,” per the press release. So far, the program has served over 435,000 students.

Actor and stand-up comedian Eric André, along with another Black comedian, U.K. funnyman Clayton English, have filed suit against Clayton County, Georgia over what they claim were “racial profiling and coercive stops” at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Local ABC News affiliate WSB-TV reports the pair spoke at a press conference detailing their suit, claiming their Fourth and 14th Amendment rights were violated.
English, who lives in Atlanta, claims he was randomly searched on Oct. 30, 2020 when traveling from Atlanta to Los Angeles.
On April 21, 2021, André says he was trying to make the same trip when he was stopped on the jet bridge on the way to the plane.
“I was blocked in a jet bridge by two police officers who interrogated me about drugs,” André said at the press conference. “I didn’t see any other Black people boarding at the time. It’s hard to believe I was selected at ‘random’ for questioning.”
The veteran of The Eric André Show and HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones among other shows called it “a humiliating and degrading experience.”
The attorneys representing the two men are calling for the airport stop program to be terminated.
According to WSB, the lawyers alleged that in the eight months before André’s stop, 56% of the hundreds of passengers stopped by CCPD were recorded as Black. But overall, only 8% of airline passengers in the U.S. are Black.
Barry Friedman, co-founder of the Policing Project at NYU School of Law and the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Professor of Law, commented, “These are cases of flying while Black, plain and simple. Every day in America, people of color are unjustly stopped on the pretense that these encounters are consensual. It is humiliating, it is deeply inappropriate, it is unconstitutional, and it must stop.”
