Lewis Capaldi is out with the music video for “Forget Me,” which is a shot-by-shot reenactment of WHAM!‘s 1983 hit “Club Tropicana.” Both videos were shot at the Pikes Hotel in Ibiza, and Lewis even wears a skimpy white Speedo, just as George Michael did for the ’80s clip.

While a sequel to 2009’s Avatar hits theaters in December, Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron says cameras are already rolling on the fourth film in the series.
Cameron’s project was one of many teased at Disney’s D23 expo over the weekend, and he revealed some new footage from the upcoming sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.
However, the Titanic and Terminator director isn’t resting on his laurels: While the team at New Zealand’s Weta Digital is putting the finishing touches on December’s film, cameras are rolling on the fourth installment, due in theaters in 2026.
The as-yet untitled third installment, which was shot concurrently with Way of Water, wrapped late in 2020 and is set for a December 2024 debut in theaters.
The original Avatar still sits at the top of the all-time box office chart, having made more than $2.8 billion in theaters worldwide to date — and that’s not counting the cash that will be added to the pot when the film is re-released in theaters September 23.
Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldaña and Stephen Lang return for Avatar: The Way of Water; joining them for the sequel will be Cameron’s Titanic star Kate Winslet, big-screen legend Michelle Yeohand Emmy winner Edie Falco, among others.
(PATERSON, N.J.) — Eight firefighters were injured when two fire trucks crashed into one another while responding to a fire in New Jersey, according to officials.
The trucks were responding to a fire at an electronic store when they collided at Broadway and Straight Street in Paterson, New Jersey, on Saturday, sending one truck crashing into the Golden Mango grocery store and the other into a tree, according to Paterson fire officials.
One firefighter remains in the hospital, a fire official told ABC News.
“Paterson’s Bravest are amazing individuals. Praying for their speedy recovery,” Jerry Speziale, Paterson’s public safety director of police and fire, tweeted.
The fire department in Hackensack, New Jersey, also arrived at the crash scene to evaluate the building and clear out debris, the department said on Facebook.
Riken Patel, the store manager of Golden Mango, told WABC that he was standing near the front of the store right before the crash happened.
“I was there one minute ago and I moved from there, and luckily I moved,” Patel told WABC.
The horror film Barbarian took the top spot at the box office over the weekend, in the wake of great reviews and a 93% “Certified Fresh” label from the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie was written and directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Zach Cregger, who explained to ABC Audio that the project began as an exercise: trying to write a scene in which a character encounters many “red flags” when meeting someone new.
In the movie, Georgina Campbell pays Tess, who finds a mysterious guy is living in the home she rented, and the red flags pile on from there. With that in mind, we wanted to know her own red flags.
“Well, I suppose in this scenario, like getting into an Airbnb and there being someone there is definitely a red flag,” she said with a laugh.
“You just have, like, an instinctual feeling of people really, don’t you?” she mused.
“Sometimes just the way someone looks at you or says something, and you get that feeling in your stomach that like, ‘Ooh … They’re not quite right,'” the actress laughs.
For Justin Long, who usually plays “nice guy” roles, it was a fun stretch to play AJ, a disgraced former star who also ends up in the increasingly creepy rental.
“I don’t normally get this opportunity to play guys who are so flawed … and so I had so much fun,” he says.
Of his character, he explains, “I know some guys like that. And so unfortunately, I had some things to draw from.”
He said of the first-time director, “Zach … gave us both a lot of freedom to play … and yet he had such a specific vision. So it was a really great combination.”
(NEW YORK) — Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “special military operation” into neighboring Ukraine began on Feb. 24, with Russian forces invading from Belarus, to the north, and Russia, to the east. Ukrainian troops have offered “stiff resistance,” according to U.S. officials.
The Russian military has since launched a full-scale ground offensive in eastern Ukraine’s disputed Donbas region, capturing the strategic port city of Mariupol and securing a coastal corridor to the Moscow-annexed Crimean Peninsula.

More than 20 towns and villages freed in 24 hours, Ukrainian military says
Russian troops have been surrendering en masse — even escaping the Luhansk region in stolen cars and bicycles, with some replacing their uniforms with stolen civilian clothes, according to a spokesperson for Ukrainian military intelligence.
“They understand the hopelessness of their situation,” the spokesperson said.
More than 20 towns and villages have been freed in 24 hours as the Russian military and its local collaborators flee, the spokesperson said.
Russian troops are allegedly making attempts to contact Ukrainian officers in an effort to independently negotiate the surrender of their units, as long as they get assurance of being treated according to the Geneva Conventions, according to the Ukrainian military spokesperson.
So many have surrendered that the country is running out of space to accommodate Russian prisoners of war, a Ukrainian presidential adviser said on Monday.

Protection zone ‘urgently needed’ to end shelling near nuclear power plant
The International Atomic Energy Agency has established a presence at the site of the nuclear power plant in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia due to continued shelling in the region, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said in a statement Monday.
The mission, intended to ensure nuclear safety and security and to allow inspectors to take vital safeguard activities, has made clear of the “urgent and imperative goal” to halt the bombing and establish a protection zone surrounding the power plant, which is the largest in Europe.
In addition to the protection zone, the IAEA has established a second safety pillar that states all safety and security systems should be fully functioning and operating “normally and unhindered.” During observations, the safety team observed military equipment and vehicles getting in the way of systems functioning optimally, Grossi said.
The third pillar of the safety plan states that operating staff must be able to perform their duties without undue pressure or duress — an issue that has been raised many times since the Russian occupation of Zaporizhzhia began in March, according to the statement.
The IAEA is also mandating the maintenance of constant off-site power supply so that the power plant does not lose crucial functionalities, including the cooling of reactors and spent fuel, as well as uninterrupted supply chains and transportation to and from the site, which will be “especially crucial” should backup generators be needed again.
Effective radiation monitoring systems — both on and off site — and emergency preparedness, as well as continued reliable communication with the regulator and others, were also safety pillars outlined in the plan.
“Despite the ongoing challenges of the war, we have continued to implement safeguards in Ukraine,” Grossi said.

Former Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman and the band’s current keyboardist, Geoff Downes, are among the musicians who have contributed to multi-instrumentalist/producer Fernando Perdomo‘s soundtrack to the recent thriller film Frost.
The album, which features a score composed by Perdomo, will be released as a white-vinyl LP and digitally on September 23, while a CD version will be packaged with a Blu-ray featuring the film that’s due out on October 11.
Wakeman is featured on the album’s lead single, “The Crash,” which was released Friday via digital formats. He also appears on two additional tracks. Downes lends his talents to a pair of other tunes, while other guest musicians on the album include veteran U.K. singer/guitarist Terry Reid and electric violinist L. Shankar.
Among Perdomo’s previous projects are Energy Overload, a collaborative album with Vanilla Fudge/Cactus drummer Carmine Appice, and Ram On, a star-studded 50th anniversary tribute to Paul and Linda McCartney‘s Ram album. Both albums were released last year.

Halle Bailey has enjoyed musical success with her older sister Chloe as the duo Chloe x Halle, and now she feels she’s maturing as a woman with her starring role in The Little Mermaid.
Bailey portrays the underwater Disney princess Ariel in the upcoming live-action film.
“I’d definitely say coming into this film I was a lot more, I think, just young-minded and a bit more not sure of myself so much,” the 22-year-old entertainer tells People. “The whole experience of filming, in more ways than one, mirrored Ariel’s journey of finding herself and her voice.”
Disney debuted the official teaser trailer Friday at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, and it earned over 104 million global views, according to Variety.
Zendaya, Halle Berry, Keke Palmer, Nicki Minaj and Amanda Gorman were among the celebrities praising the clip on Twitter.
In the teaser trailer, Bailey swims under water, leads viewers through her treasure trove and sings some of the lyrics to the iconic song “Part of Your World.”
“I remember at the end of filming, wrap day, I was just sobbing because I truly felt like I had come out of this cocoon with Ariel,” Bailey adds.
She says the film has “changed my perspective on everything” and “impacted my life in so many ways.” Bailey hopes that Black girls will be inspired by her performance.
“The fact that now it’s getting to be played by me, a person who looks like me, woman of color, I’m just like, wow, I’m so grateful what it will do for all the other little Black and brown boys and girls who will see themselves in me,” she says.
The Little Mermaid opens in theaters May 26, 2023.
Though he’s currently being buoyed by positive reviews for his role in Darren Aronofsky‘s The Whale, Brendan Fraser explains he was disappointed by Warner Bros. Discovery shelving Batgirl.
Fraser was to play the heavy Firefly in the film, which, as reported, was pulled by the studio and won’t likely ever see the light of day.
In a sit-down with Black Swan director Aronofsky at the Toronto International Film Festival, Fraser told Variety of the aborted project, “The fans really wanted to see this film made,” calling lead Leslie Grace, who played Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, “a dynamo.”
Initially bound for HBO Max, Batgirl appears to be partially a casualty of the current entertainment landscape, the actor said. “The movie was shot and conceived for a smaller screen. In this age that we’ve come out of now between streaming service versus theatrical release, it wound up being the canary in the coal mine.”
He added, “What did we learn from this? Work with trusted filmmakers, like Darren.”
Fraser was asked about the Oscar buzz surrounding The Whale, in which he plays a morbidly obese father trying to make amends; the trade notes he did so by quoting Moby Dick:
“I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I’ll go to it laughing.”
Luke Bryan has been a country music superstar for more than a decade, but he’s still finding the balance between family and fame.
In between his busy touring schedule, Luke is intentional about supporting his children’s endeavors, going so far as to split his time between his sons’ games. Recently, Luke was in the middle of an event at his house in Nashville when he left to watch part of eldest son Bo‘s game before heading over to see 12-year-old Tate play on the field.
“It’s a tremendous challenge navigating this career and everything that goes with it,” Luke tells E! News. “You have to make personal goals to get home. There are a lot of nights that I travel through the night to try to be there one day to hang with the boys. But the boys in our family understand it’s a pretty amazing life we get to live because of our blessings.”
The singer says that while his sons “appreciate” his work, he anticipates that he’ll have to make more time for family as his sons get older.
“I’m probably going to slow it down a little bit as the boys get into high school and want to play even more sports,” Luke says.
The hitmaker will embark on his 13th annual Farm Tour starting on September 15 in Indiana.
