The internet has barely recovered from Tuesday’s news that Ryan Reynolds’ pal Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine again in Deadpool 3, yet the pair is doubling down.

In a video posted to Reynolds’ Instagram Wednesday, the two stars spoiled the whole movie — only to be foiled by an overly loud Wham! classic.

According to the caption, the post sought to address “Timeline questions” and “Logan canon” and would contain an “MCU FAQ” as well as an answer to “Whether we can do this all day or not.”

The pair first addressed how Jackman’s metal-clawed character could be alive to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the film, seeing as 2017’s Logan killed him off.

“I have a lot of questions, I’m sure you have a lot of questions,” Jackman says, promising answers.

Reynolds replies, “Logan takes place in 2029, totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that.”

Ryan and Hugh then lay out the movie, only to have Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” drown them out as they excitedly mime all the action that will reportedly take place in Deadpool 3.

The music cuts out just as the pair finish, with Reynolds applauding. “Thank you, Kevin Feige!” Reynolds says of Marvel Studios’ president. “Love you, Kevin Feige!” Jackman agrees. “Thank you, MCU!”

The video ends with a slideshow of the pals together.

The post immediately went viral, with one of the first replies coming from Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, who wrote “YES!” followed by an extraordinary number of exclamation points.

According to Tuesday’s tease, Deadpool 3 will hit theaters September 6, 2024.

Hailey Bieber says she never “stole” husband Justin Bieber from Selena Gomez — and that it’s “sad” that continues to be a narrative.

Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Hailey opened up about the controversy surrounding her “very rapid and fast” engagement to Justin.

Justin proposed to Hailey in July 2018, two months after he and Selena parted ways for good, prompting “Jelena” fans to call Hailey a “homewrecker.” Hailey said, “The only people that really know the truth of the situation and what the timeline really was and how it happened and how it went down are me and him.”

Stating Justin and Selena’s relationship “was very much completely closed,” she continued, “Perception is a really tricky thing.” Noting of the fans “watching something from the outside,” Hailey debunked the rumors that she stole Justin from Selena, saying that is “not the reality of what happened behind closed doors.”

“I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That’s the end of it,” Hailey declared. “I was raised better than that.” She added Justin choosing to “move on” with her “was the most healthy, mature decision he could have made.”

Hailey said of the online abuse she continues to suffer, “I think it’s sad to be against someone’s happiness… to not wish somebody well.” She said people aren’t “obligated to like me” but that she is deserving of respect.

Hailey doesn’t regret marrying Justin. “He’s my best friend,” she said. “There is nothing better than being with the person that makes you smile the most, makes you laugh the most. He’s just literally the best human to me ever.”

She also detailed their sex life, including their favorite “positions” and how adventurous they are between the sheets.

Some top female pop stars joined a dozens of rockers Tuesday night in Los Angeles to pay tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who passed away in March while the band was on tour in Colombia.

It was the second star-studded tribute concert held in Hawkins’ memory; the previous one was held in London earlier this month. Unlike the London show, the LA tribute did not stream online, but, the Los Angeles Timeslive recap, it still boasted an epic night of impromptu supergroups often backed by the Foos themselves.

Alanis Morissette, who employed Hawkins as a drummer for her Jagged Little Pill tour in the ’90s, performed “You Oughta Know” with Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums.

Miley Cyrus, who was friendly with Hawkins, sang Def Leppard’s classic “Photograph” with the band’s Joe Elliott, Rick Savage and Phil Collen backing her up.

Hawkins played drums on the song “We Could Have It All” from Pink’s 2019 album, Hurts 2 B Human. At the concert, Pink sang Heart‘s “Barracuda” alongside Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson and Foo Fighters. She also joined Foo Fighters for their song “Pretender” and sang Queen‘s “Somebody to Love” with Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. The Queen tune is one that Hawkins himself often performed during Foo Fighters’ shows.

Hawkins’ side project, Chevy Metal, performed David Bowie’s “Heroes” with Kesha on vocals.

The concert also featured members of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Rush, Mötley Crüe, Joan Jett, The Cars and The Police.  It ended around 1 a.m. local time with a full-band performance of “Everlong,” which Foos frontman Dave Grohl played solo to finish the London show.

Katie Couric reveals breast cancer diagnosis

Katie Couric has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.

The 65-year-old journalist revealed in a personal essay on her website that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in June, and has since undergone surgery and radiation to treat the disease.

Couric, a mother of two, said she underwent what she thought would be a routine mammogram in June, after unknowingly missing her annual screening for two years during the coronavirus pandemic. After a follow-up biopsy on her left breast, Couric said she received a call from her doctor with the diagnosis.

“I felt sick and the room started to spin,” Couric wrote. “…I walked to a corner and spoke quietly, my mouth unable to keep up with the questions swirling in my head.”

Since the diagnosis in June, Couric said she has undergone a lumpectomy and several weeks of radiation to treat what her doctors diagnosed as stage 1A breast cancer.

She said the lumpectomy revealed a 2.5-centimeter tumor, or about one inch.

Regarding her radiation treatment, Couric wrote in Wednesday’s essay, “I was warned that I may be fatigued and my skin may turn a little pink. Yesterday was my final round. My left breast does look like I’ve been sunbathing topless, but other than that, I’ve felt fine.”

Couric, who lost her husband, sister and mother-in-law to cancer, said she felt grateful for all the advancements made in breast cancer research over the last several decades.

“I can’t tell you how many times during this experience I thanked God that it was 2022…,” she wrote. “…But to reap the benefits of modern medicine, we need to stay on top of our screenings, advocate for ourselves, and make sure everyone has access to the diagnostic tools that could very well save their life.”

Couric shared her diagnosis on the eve of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed every October.

Breast cancer is the second-most common cancer among women in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Is Doja Cat’s “Vegas” from the ‘Elvis’ movie eligible for an Oscar?

We’re months away from learning who is up for an Academy Award, but fans are hoping Doja Cat scores a nod for “Vegas,” the original song she performed for the Baz Luhrmann biopic, Elvis. But, will the Academy recognize a song that samples a previously existing hit?

Variety took a deep dive into Doja’s chances of scoring her first Oscar nod and ruled: “Maybe.” The issue here is that “Vegas” samples a portion of Big Mama Thornton‘s 1952 hit “Hound Dog.” Elvis later covered the song in 1956.

Doja credits “Hound Dog” songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller in her new track, which uses the line “you ain’t nothin’ but a…” repeatedly. The outlet notes herein lies the issue with her song’s eligibility.

The Oscars mandate that nominated songs “must be the result of a creative interaction between the filmmaker(s) and the composer(s) and/or songwriter(s) who have been engaged to work directly on the motion picture.” That condition might not have been satisfied since Lieber died in 2011; it’s been reported Stoller was not involved in the movie.

Variety also notes Leiber and Stoller might be excluded from consideration themselves because they would be considered “partial contributors,” which, according to the Oscar’s rulebook, are those who were “not responsible for the overall design of the work.”

Finally, a song “must be a clearly audible, intelligible, substantive rendition” in the movie — of which Variety notes that less than 45 seconds of “Vegas” appears in the film. The portion used is the “Hound Dog” interpolation.

Despite this, it appears Doja’s song has found itself in a gray area because of its unique story and nature. It is unknown at this time if she’s up for an Oscar, but we’ll find out when nominations are announced on January 24.

“But they like each other and are excited to see where things go,” adds the source.
