Looks like Dua Lipa has a new man in her life — late night host Trevor Noah.

Page Six reports the Grammy winner was seen palling around New York City with Noah on Wednesday night, and the two were even caught sharing a kiss. It is unknown when Dua, 27, began seeing Noah, 38.

Despite the unknown origins of their rumored love story, spies who caught them moseying around the Big Apple say they seem to be very happy to be in the other’s company. The rumored couple also grabbed a dinner at Miss Lily’s, a Jamaican restaurant.

“They were quietly sat away from everyone else at restaurant,” one source told the outlet. “It was clear they were into each other and sat close together throughout the meal.”

Once they finished eating, they “left together and walked,” says the source, who added that the two took a moment “for long embraces” and “kissed.”

Reps for the Daily Show host and Dua have not responded to the outlet’s request for comment at this time.

Dua parted ways with her boyfriend of two years, Anwar Hadid, earlier this year.

Race to November: Dr. Oz lays out his platform as Senate race heats up

Race to November: Dr. Oz lays out his platform as Senate race heats up
Race to November: Dr. Oz lays out his platform as Senate race heats up
ABC News

(NEW YORK) — With just a little over a month before the Nov. 8 elections, Dr. Mehmet Oz tells ABC News that he is gearing up for a tight campaign schedule as he tries to convince Pennsylvania voters that he’s the best choice for their U.S. Senator.

Oz laid out more specifics of his agenda and responded to criticism by his opponent, Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, in a wide-ranging interview and run with ABC News’ Linsey Davis.

Oz, a former heart surgeon turned TV talk show host, said he decided to run for office because of the legacy he has as a first-generation American. The GOP candidate said that his father, who immigrated to the U.S. from Turkey, instilled in him pride in his adopted land and encouraged him to work hard.

“My life is a living testimony to the American dream,” he told Davis. “I want everyone to have that, and I don’t want that getting squandered away.”

Oz’s residency has come into question from Fetterman and other opponents who have noted that Oz moved to Pennsylvania in 2020 after residing in New Jersey. Fetterman has frequently brought up this point in social media posts.

Oz pushed back against the criticism, calling the residency complaints a “preposterous issue.”

“I had two kids in Pennsylvania, married my wife 37 years ago in the house we live in now, which was the best decision I made in my life, and we moved back couple of years ago,” he said.

“It’s a deeper reality that, in Pennsylvania, we don’t care where you’re from. We care what you stand for,” Oz added.

Oz added that he was a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

The Republican candidate said his first priority as a senator would be health care. Oz said every American should have access to health care but added, “we’ve got to deal with the cost issues as well.”

When asked if he supported U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham’s bill to ban abortion nationwide, Oz, who has supported banning abortions with exceptions for lifesaving instances, didn’t directly answer but reiterated his stance that the issue should be left up to the states.

“I don’t think the federal government should play a role in telling states how to make decisions around some of these issues, especially sensitive ones like those involving the pro-life movement,” he said.

Health has come up in the campaign after Fetterman suffered a stroke in May.

Last month, Oz distanced himself from a comment made by one of his campaign staffers who was quoted saying that if Fetterman “had ever eaten a vegetable in his life, then maybe he wouldn’t have had a major stroke and wouldn’t be in the position of having to lie about it constantly.”

Oz reiterated that he has empathy for Fetterman and his recovery.

“It’s an area that I specialize in medicine, recovering from a stroke,” he said. “All of these issues are challenges, especially if you’re in the political arena, which is physically demanding, and you’ve got to articulate your thoughts on this campaign.”

Oz, however, criticized his opponent for not having more facetime during the campaign. Fetterman has kept most of his campaigning online and with few public appearances since the stroke.

There is only one debate scheduled between the candidates on Oct. 25.

“Focus on the voters,” Oz said. “They have a right to hear my opponent articulate and defend his policies.”

Oz said he is focused on winning over all voters — Republicans, Democrats and Independents. However, he has faced criticism for his ties to the far-right, but also from the far-right for not being conservative enough.

Oz was endorsed by Former President Donald Trump, but he has contended he wants to be a leader for all.

“I think I’m a moderate leader, but not passive. I feel very strongly about the positions I have,” he said.

“Politics is a game of addition and multiplication, not division. I have lots of people endorsing me. Some of those people don’t like President Trump. Many do. But I want everybody endorsing me,” he added.

Kesha is on the mend after suffering a vocal hemorrhage during the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert earlier this week. The star-studded concert was the music industry’s way of bidding farewell to the late Foo Fighters drummer.

Kesha was part of the lineup and performed “Heroes” by David Bowie alongside Hawkins’ side project Chevy Metal. In addition to injuring her voice, the “TikTok” singer also dealt with an unexpected wardrobe malfunction, which she joked about on Instagram.

Kesha had been wearing a glittery silver bikini top, which appeared to have gotten loose during her knockout performance. She didn’t sweat it, but apparently, that is what caused the vocal injury.

“So. in the middle of my wardrobe malfunction I decided to distract everyone from my [breasts] falling out by singing [really]. Loud. And today I found out I hemorrhaged one of my vocal chords,” she remarked. “Soooo. I’m posting all the pics from the f***ing moment bc. This was quite a moment.”

Fans are wishing Kesha a speedy recovery.

Among the other artists participating in the tribute were Miley Cyrus, Pink, Alanis Morissette and Blink-182‘s Travis Barker. The concert raised funds for MusiCares and Music Support.

Former NBA star Dwyane Wade is taking the necessary steps to try and shield his transgender daughter, Zaya, from hateful comments on social media.

On Twitter Thursday, Wade responded to a fan who seemingly inquired about the accessibility of Zaya’s comment section to explain his reasoning behind the protected social accounts. The original fan tweet can no longer be viewed.

“For Zaya’s mental health and privacy we’ve decided not to allow the hate into her comments,” Wade wrote. “Thank you for wanting to spread and send her love.”

Earlier this month, Zaya, 15, made headlines after sharing first-look images of her Tiffany & Co. campaign, where she debuted new, flowing tresses in a half-up, half-down hairstyle — a completely different look than her normal low-cut afro.

“dreams become reality,” she captioned the Instagram post.

In supportive father-like fashion, the loving dad gushed over his daughter’s images, posting diamond emojis in the comments section.

Wade has shown unwavering support for his daughter since publicly announcing her gender identity in 2020.

“As blessed as it is for my daughter to have parents who can support her, I’m still afraid every moment she leaves our house,” he said during an interview at a Time magazine summit earlier this year. “And not just because of gun violence, but because of the way people perceive her in this world.”

Biden slaps new sanctions on Russia after Putin annexes parts of Ukraine

(WASHINGTON) — For months, the U.S. has warned that the Kremlin would move to annex occupied areas of Ukraine. But now that Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday has certified the annexation of four territories into the Russian Federation, all eyes turned to the Western response to the provocation.

Within minutes of Putin’s action, President Joe Biden shot back.

“The United States condemns Russia’s fraudulent attempt today to annex sovereign Ukrainian territory. Russia is violating international law, trampling on the United Nations Charter, and showing its contempt for peaceful nations everywhere,” he said in a statement.

“Make no mistake: these actions have no legitimacy. The United States will always honor Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders. We will continue to support Ukraine’s efforts to regain control of its territory by strengthening its hand militarily and diplomatically, including through the $1.1 billion in additional security assistance the United States announced this week,” he said.

He announced new sanctions, in conjunction with Western allies and partners.

“These sanctions will impose costs on individuals and entities — inside and outside of Russia — that provide political or economic support to illegal attempts to change the status of Ukrainian territory. We will rally the international community to both denounce these moves and to hold Russia accountable. We will continue to provide Ukraine with the equipment it needs to defend itself, undeterred by Russia’s brazen effort to redraw the borders of its neighbor. And I look forward to signing legislation from Congress that will provide an additional $12 billion to support Ukraine,” Biden said.

The European Union has already moved to implement a host of new trade restrictions. At the United Nations, a U.S. sponsored resolution condemning the land grab will soon be introduced before the organization’s Security Council.

But so far, financial restrictions and public shaming have done little to constrain Putin’s imperialistic goals, prompting Ukrainian officials to call for a shift in strategy.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has pushed the U.S. to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, which installs secondary sanctions — penalizing any business or entity that does business with the country. So far, the Biden administration has been adamantly against it, saying it could inhibit efforts to move aid to Ukraine and other needy countries, as well hinder any future peace talks.

Still, Kyiv has been undeterred.

David Arakhamia, one of Zelenskyy’s closest advisers, during a visit to Washington on Thursday, said that he felt “more optimistic” after meeting with lawmakers, saying he felt Congress was continuing to “put political pressure” on the White House to shift its policy.

“We want to see as much financial impact on Russia as possible,” Arakhamia said during a press conference. “If we make Russia poor, that means we increase our chances for Ukraine to win.”

Oleksandra Ustinova, a member of Ukraine’s parliament, argued at the same event that the administration also needs to specifically say how it will punish Putin.

“It is very important for us that the United States exactly what they’re going to do before Putin makes the next steps,” Ustinova said. “Because he’s a bully. He’s testing how far he can go.”

Ustinova said Ukrainian officials had directly pushed the U.S. government to “state how hard you’re going to hit him” and to crack down harder on Russian financial institutions.

“That would make him think twice,” she said.

When it comes to Putin’s nuclear threats, the administration has been especially stringent, sticking to its policy of “strategic ambiguity” — declining to say just how the West might respond to the ultimate aggression — as an attempt to walk the line between deterrence and escalation.

Arakhamia said he was hopeful NATO would spell out specifically what it would do in that worst-case scenario and that Ukraine would receive collective defense guarantees, but either would mark a significant shift and one that could have weighty implications for the conflict.

A more likely and immediate response is expected to be an infusion of military and economic aid from Congress, which is set to pass a stopgap funding bill with more than $12 billion more for Ukraine on Friday. But already, some of the recent rounds of aid announced have included weaponry that still needs to be produced, meaning it won’t make it to the battlefield for months or years — and signaling surpluses in allies’ armories are running low.

“We think it’s high time the United States and other allies actually warm up production up to the scale of wartime,” urged Anastasia Radina, another member of Ukraine’s parliament. “Because it is now wartime for the whole civilized world.”

“No one has seen anything like this since World War II,” said Ustinova.

Turkey prices soar ahead of Thanksgiving, what consumers can expect

(NEW YORK) — The centerpiece for Thanksgiving tables across the country will cost more than ever this holiday season.

The American Farm Bureau Federation announced Wednesday that “families can expect to pay record high prices at the grocery store for turkey” due to bird flu and inflation.

The organization analyzed turkey costs in their latest Market Intel, finding retail prices on fresh boneless, skinless turkey breast reached a record high of $6.70 per pound in September, which is up 112% from 2021. The previous record high price was $5.88 per pound in November 2015, during the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak.

“This is particularly challenging for turkey production, because it takes a really long time to grow a turkey to its market weight of about 30 pounds. So when we saw these significant shocks to supply this spring, we’re now seeing it in grocery stores reflected in those prices today,” American Farm Bureau Federation senior economist Veronica Nigh told ABC News’ Good Morning America.

With inflation at a near 40-year high, retail food prices were up 11.4% in August compared to the same time last year.

Despite higher prices, farmers and retailers believe there should be enough turkeys to meet the holiday demand.

“All of us are feeling the pain of higher prices at the grocery store,” American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall said in a statement. “HPAI outbreaks in the spring and an uptick in cases in the fall are taking a toll, but farmers remain dedicated to ensuring America’s food supply remains strong.”

Over 40 states have confirmed cases of bird flu, which has wreaked havoc on 46 million birds in the U.S.

In Minnesota, the top turkey supplier in the U.S., the situation has gotten so dire with the deadly outbreak that Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order to waive trucking regulations in an effort to help fight the spread.

“If your turkeys end up with bird flu, any other poultry on the farm, whether it’s meat chickens, egg layers, they all have to be exterminated and that’s not only a huge financial loss that’s just a really sad situation,” Nellie Lovenduski of Slate River Farms told local affiliate WXXA-TV.

But farmers maintain that consumers can still find their Thanksgiving turkeys.

“I think at a minimum you’re going to see an increase in price in turkeys even in the big box turkey providers,” Lovenduski said.

But Nigh explained there’s still ways to save.

“We’re looking at ways to perhaps mitigate cheaper Thanksgiving dinner and maybe more side dishes to go along with that with that turkey and looking for substitutes at the grocery store,” she suggested. “Think about getting a frozen burger rather than a fresh turkey this year. Ways to really stretch that dollar and so that we can all be together but still have that traditional Thanksgiving dinner.”

Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro will not be joining the band on their upcoming tour with The Smashing Pumpkins due to continued effects from a bout of long COVID-19 that he’s been dealing with since last December.

“I had hoped for a full recovery by October but I am still very fatigued and will not be able to join this leg,” Navarro writes in a social media post.

Navarro adds that he’s “personally gutted” to miss the tour, which kicks off this Sunday in Dallas, especially since it will mark the return of original Jane’s bassist Eric Avery, who reunited with the band over the summer.

“We wanted to bring you the original lineup but that will have to wait until I’m recovered,” Navarro writes. “While the band is touring, I will be working on new new Jane’s material in the studio here in [Los Angeles].”

Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, who’s also played in A Perfect Circle and Failure, will fill in for Navarro on the tour.

“[Van Leeuwen] is a great guy and I am honored to have him help make this tour happen,” Navarro says. “Though I am saddened to not make this tour I am focused on making a full recovery and rejoining the guys when I am able.”

“I truly wish the band well on this tour and I am confident they will bring everything to make it a fabulous show,” he adds. “Go get ’em guys! Maybe I can get to a show one night and watch my own band for the first time.”

Navarro’s condition previously forced Jane’s to cancel their set at the Welcome to Rockville festival earlier this year, which led to the reunion of Perry Farrell‘s other band, Porno for Pyros.
