Will Taylor Swift make a ca-meow in the upcoming Deadpool movie? Ryan Reynolds has finally addressed the elephant in the room.

Fans who watched the second film know Reynolds wore a T-shirt with two of Taylor’s cats — Olivia and Meredith — on it. In addition, Taylor is very good friends with Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, and she revealed their daughters’ names on her Folklore album by naming characters after them.

It should also be noted Lively directed Taylor’s hilarious music video for “I Bet You Think About Me.” In that vein, eagle-eyed fans noted that the house used in Taylor’s new “All Too Well” music video was the same home featured in two Deadpool 3 teasers.

Fans felt these were all signs pointing to Taylor’s involvement in the third Deadpool movie — but Reynolds shot down those hopes when talking with Entertainment Tonight. He did, however, say he would “of course” welcome a cameo from Taylor.

“Are you kidding me? I would do anything for that woman. She’s a genius,” he raved.

Reynolds revealed he’s a massive fan of the singer and said he is “obsessed” with her new album, Midnights. “Oh my God, yes. All of us, whole house, I’m not kidding. I love it so much,” he explained. “I do, Blake does, my daughters. We love it.”

Cole Swindell has never won a CMA Award, even though he’s been at the top of the country music game for so long some fans may find that hard to believe.

“Oh yeah. It’s possible. I can tell you,” Cole tells ABC Audio with a chuckle.

The singer stresses that trophies and accolades aren’t the goal — what’s important, after all, is putting out music that resonates with your fans. But that doesn’t mean it’s not nice to get some industry recognition every once in a while, “especially for the people behind the scenes that you can share it with,” Cole adds.

But Cole might pick up his first couple of CMA trophies on Wednesday night: He’s nominated in the Music Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year categories, both for his hit duet with Lainey Wilson, “Never Say Never.”

“You know, I’ve only been nominated as a solo artist, but this year, to be nominated with a friend and somebody I’ve believed in for a while — Lainey Wilson, who is the most-nominated [artist at the show] — I just think it’s gonna be special … to watch her shine,” Cole continues.

“I hope she wins everything she’s nominated for. I know I’m a small part of that, but she’s so deserving,” he adds.

The 2022 CMA Awards air Wednesday night live from Nashville on ABC.

Fresh from inducting Lionel Richie into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Lenny Kravitz took the stage Monday night in New York City to accept his own honor. Bradley Cooper presented Kravitz with the Fashion Icon Award at the CDFA Fashion Awards, organized by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

According to USA Today, Kravitz said at the event, “What I’ve learned along the way is being yourself is the most important thing you can do. And that you’re going to make mistakes. I certainly have had my fair share of fashion fails, but that’s part of evolving.”

As this year’s Fashion Icon, Kravitz of course made a bold statement with his outfit for the event: He wore a custom look by LaQuan Smith consisting of leather pants, a suit jacket with cutouts and a black ostrich feather boa.

Lenny told Vogue, “I reached out to LaQuan after admiring his work for some time and we met in person just a couple of days ago to vibe out. We had instant chemistry and creativity hit it off right away. I love his vision … the fact that I’m the first to wear creations he has made for men is an honor.”

Smith, meanwhile, said, “Lenny is an icon and has always been a major inspiration to me in both my work and my personal style … I wanted to push the boundaries of menswear with this look and I feel as though this is the start of something greater. This feels like a very iconic moment.”

Lainey Wilson can’t wait to walk the 2022 CMAs red carpet with her dad: “A win in itself”

Lainey Wilson is pulling quadruple duty at the 2022 CMAs. She will perform, present and be a part of an Alan Jackson tribute — oh, and not only is she a nominee, but she’s the most-nominated artist of the whole show this year.

It’s been a week of pinch-me moments, especially when she met AJ himself ahead of singing in his honor.

“His storytelling is like none other, and it’s an honor to be able to honor him. I mean, he’s a legend,” Lainey says. “…And I got to meet him and be around him for a few minutes the other night. And it was like, ‘I’m sitting here talking to Alan Jackson! What is life?!’”

But the moment that Lainey is looking forward to the most at the 2022 CMAs doesn’t have anything to do with winning trophies or stepping onstage for glitzy performances: She can’t wait to walk the red carpet with her dad.

This moment is a long time coming, as Lainey’s dad spent multiple months in the hospital and underwent numerous surgeries during a life-threatening series of health challenges this summer. He ultimately had to have an eye removed in order to save his life, but he’s on the mend now — and ready to head to Nashville to support his country star daughter.

“He is headed here right now from Louisiana and he is gonna walk the carpet with me. It’s going to be a win in itself right there,” she says. “He’s going to be looking like a pirate cowboy. He’s going to wear his eyepatch. Yeah, he’s excited.”

The 2022 CMA Awards — and pre-show red-carpet coverage — will air on Wednesday night on ABC. The show broadcasts live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Original Nazareth frontman Dan McCafferty dead at 76

Dan McCafferty, the original lead singer for the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, has died. He was 76.

The news was announced on the band’s Facebook page by bass player Pete Agnew, the only remaining founding member in the current Nazareth lineup. “Dan died at 12:40 today,” Agnew wrote. “This is the saddest announcement I ever had to make … I have lost my best friend and the world has lost one of the greatest singers who ever lived. Too upset to say anything more at this time.”

No cause of death was given, but McCafferty had retired from the band in 2013 due to health issues, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and a burst stomach ulcer.

McCafferty founded Nazareth in Dunfermline, Scotland, in 1968 with Agnew, drummer Darrell Sweet and guitarist Manny Charlton. They took their name from a line in The Band‘s song “The Weight:” “I pulled into Nazareth, was feelin’ ’bout half past dead.”

In the U.S., they’re best known for their top-10 cover of The Everly Brothers‘ “Love Hurts,” which reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1976. It was their only top-10 hit, though the title track of their 1975 album, Hair of the Dog — sometimes erroneously referred to as “Son of a B***h” because of its hook — became a rock radio staple.

Their only other U.S. charted song was 1980’s “Holiday,” with its video getting airplay in the early days of MTV. In 1993, Guns ‘N’ Roses covered “Hair of the Dog” on their album The Spaghetti Incident?.

McCafferty was replaced first by Linton Osborne and then by Carl Sentance, who is their current singer. Their most recent album, Surviving the Law, was released earlier this year.

‘Stranger Things’ vet Shawn Levy confirms he’s in talks to direct a ‘Star Wars’ movie following ‘Deadpool 3’

Walt Disney Pictures

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Shawn Levy, who helped make Stranger Things a global phenomenon, and who will be directing his Free Guy and The Adam Project star Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3, could be heading to a galaxy far, far away.

The filmmaker retweeted a Deadline story saying he’s in talks to direct a Star Wars movie after he wraps the Deadpool threequel that will finally unite Reynolds’ trash-talking hero with Wolverine, the hero played by Reynolds’ pal Hugh Jackman.

It should be noted that most filmmakers in this situation remain mum — often times contractually so — but Levy’s enthusiasm got the better of him. “Childhood me is losing his s*** right now,” he tweeted. “Grown-up me is too.”

According to Deadline, the Night at the Museum vet will direct at least two episodes of Stranger Things‘ fifth and final season, the show for which he serves as an executive producer.

While Star Wars has lived on on the small screen, with Disney+ projects like Obi-Wan Kenobi, the well-received current show Andor and the just-started The Acolyte, there hasn’t been a Star Wars movie in theaters since 2019’s Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, which concluded the divisive sequel trilogy.

There are big screen projects at various levels of development, however, including one from Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, another from Lost veteran Damon Lindelof, and a rumored project from Thor sequel director and Levy’s Free Guy scene stealer Taika Waititi. That’s not including a Rogue Squadron project from Wonder Woman‘s Patty Jenkins, which was recently scrubbed from the release schedule.

Fans of Elton John know he loves to shop, so it’s no surprise that he’s collaborating with one of the most famous department stores in the world for a good cause.

Elton has teamed up with Saks Fifth Avenue for a curated holiday collection, proceeds from which will go to The Elton John AIDS Foundation. The collection is available to shop now and includes items from Balmain, Versace, Louboutin, Dior, Burberry, Chopard, Gucci, Baccarat, Manolo Blahnik and Caroline Herrera.

In a statement, Elton says, “There are so many ways I enjoy expressing creativity—through my music, my fashion…and my gift-giving! I’m inspired by all the creativity we saw in the designers we partnered with for this collection. Better yet, they’re helping fuel the other great passion in my life, Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Rocket Fund, which helps provide care to those who need it most.”

As part of the deal, Saks will donate $1 million to Elton’s AIDS Foundation — including $500,000 worth of proceeds from the collection — regardless of how well it sells.

On December 6 at 12 p.m. ET, you can go to Saks Live and watch Elton sitting down with Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele for an intimate conversation.

Speaking to Saks for its website, Elton talked about how he celebrates the holidays.

“Christmas is a massive deal in our family as our eldest son Zachary was born on Christmas day,” he reveals. “We have a tradition of celebrating his birthday on Christmas Eve followed by a big Christmas celebration on the 25th…We love watching our favorite classic holiday movies and listening to great Christmas records.”
