Gunna followed through with his intention to give back to families in his community despite some changes to his plan. The rapper, his Great Giveaway Family Foundation and Goodr had teamed up to throw their annual giveaway at a Walmart in Atlanta, but the retail corporation canceled the event one day before it was slated to go down.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the South Fulton Police Department “had been working with Walmart to address security for the gift card giveaway” on Saturday when the department was informed that it was no longer taking place. A Facebook post directed people to the company for additional questions on the cancellation.
Gunna and Goodr’s giveaway, initially scheduled for Sunday, December 18, was intended to provide gift cards to 1,000 families who filled out preregistration forms. When the event was canceled, they decided they’d send the cards to those families since they could no longer distribute them in person.
“It was essential to Gunna, his Great Giveaway Family Foundation, and Goodr to make sure that families received the assistance promised to them no matter what,” Goodr CEO Jasmine Crowe said in a statement. “We contacted all 1,000 families this week. Working with the City Of South Fulton, every family received their gift cards and gifts.”
There were a lot of great performances at last month’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. In fact, there were so many that some couldn’t fit into HBO’s telecast of the event. Well, some of those cut performances are now seeing the light of day.
As a holiday gift to music fans, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is sharing three cut-for-time performances from the ceremony, from Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Judas Priest and Lionel Richie. Benatar and Giraldo perform her hit “All Fired Up,” while Judas Priest performs “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” and Lionel treats the crowd to “Hello.”
In addition to Giraldo, Judas Priest and Lionel, performers in the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class included Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Eminem, Carly Simon, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Harry Belafonte and Sylvia Robinson.
Nearly the entire cast of That ’70s Show —Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, and Deborah Jo Rupp — can be seen in Netflix’s new trailer to the hit show’s spin-off, That ’90s Show.
Everything old is new-ish again: Red and Kitty Forman, played respectively by Smith and Rupp, are still living in the Wisconsin home where they raised Grace’s Eric in the original series, though the recreated set gets a dial-up days upgrade.
Set in the summer of 1995, the pair welcome their granddaughter Leia (Callie Haverda) — the daughter of high school sweethearts Eric and Donna — and welcome a whole new set of “hooligans” into the Formans’ home.
“Don’t feed them, Kitty,” the irritable Red warns. “That’s how it started the first time!”
Kitty also opens her basement to the new misfits, the same place the show’s original characters got high — and thanks to an apparently forgotten Carter-era bag of weed, so do the new kids.
In addition to Red and Kitty, the show’s original cast members will appear throughout the series, excepting Danny Masterson, who played Steven Hyde. The actor’s career was derailed in 2017, when sex assault accusations were leveled against him at the height of the #MeToo movement.
Earlier this month, a mistrial was declared when jurors deadlocked on rape charges against Masterson by three women.
The actor, who maintained his innocence on the two-decade-old accusations, faces 45 years in jail if convicted on all charges. A retrial is scheduled for March 27.
That ’70s Show ran for seven seasons on Fox, ending in 2006. The show was spun-off into the short-lived That ’80s Show, which ran for a single season from January to May 2002.
Brian May is teasing fans with some new music. The Queen guitarist shared a video on social media of him playing the guitar, writing, “This is a tease for something nice which is coming in January.”
In the caption, he notes, “This is what’s known in the trade as a ‘STING’ … and hopefully it will ring a bell with you guys early next year – when all will be revealed. I love going in the studio to make something new – like starting to write words on a crisp new sheet of paper … and in the studio I get lost.” He adds, “For a few moments, I’m immersed in the music we’re fashioning, and that is my entire world.”

(NEW YORK) — A massive storm bringing heavy snow and blizzard conditions is hitting the U.S. right as the holiday travel rush gets underway.
Over 2,200 flights are canceled in the U.S. so far on Thursday. Chicago and Denver are seeing the most cancellations.
Blizzard warnings are in effect in the Dakotas, Minneapolis, Des Moines, Grand Rapids and Buffalo.
Philadelphia schools will be closed on Friday due to the weather.
“This is really a very serious weather alert,” President Joe Biden warned Thursday. “Please take this storm extremely seriously.”

The storm is barreling across the Midwest and Great Lakes on Thursday.
St. Louis, Chicago, Indiana and Michigan will see the brunt of the blinding snow and high winds.
Although only a few inches of snow is expected for most of the Midwest, the combination of the snow, wind and brutal cold will make travel extremely dangerous. Michigan could see the most snow, with 1 foot possible in some areas.
The Illinois State Police is urging people to stay home.
“The snow, wind and bitter cold are headed our way creating hazardous roadways today and tomorrow,” police tweeted Thursday. “If you must travel because of an emergency, please slow down, remain vigilant, and Don’t Crowd the Plow!”
Bombogenesis — or a “bomb cyclone” — is forecast Thursday night into Friday when the storm rapidly strengthens over the Great Lakes.
Blizzard conditions will continue in the Great Lakes into Friday. The blowing snow will cause very low visibility making travel nearly impossible.
Heavy rain will invade the Northeast starting Thursday afternoon, causing a dangerous travel day.
The worst of the heavy rain will hit the Northeast late Thursday night and extend overnight.
A flood watch has been issued for Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Albany, New York, and Portland, Maine, where some areas could see 2 to 4 inches of rain in a short period of time.
The strongest winds will arrive in the Northeast Friday morning, with winds gusts possibly topping 60 mph. The pounding winds could cause widespread power outages and major airport delays.
(WASHINGTON) — Two Washington, D.C., police officers were found guilty in the death of Karon Hylton-Brown during a police pursuit.
On Oct. 23, 2020, Hylton-Brown was driving an electric scooter without a helmet on a sidewalk when two Metropolitan police officers attempted to stop Hylton-Brown.
Body camera footage released by the MPD shows officers following Hylton-Brown down an alleyway, where he is hit by a civilian’s car as Hylton-Brown turned onto a busy street during the chase.
He died at a hospital a few days later, according to officials.
The officer who led the chase, Terence Sutton, was found guilty of second-degree murder, conspiracy to obstruct and obstruction of justice in a federal district court on Wednesday.
The officer who drove the second vehicle, Andrew Zabavsky, was found guilty of conspiracy to obstruct and obstruction of justice.
Wednesday’s verdict reportedly marks the first time that an on-duty police officer has been charged and convicted of murder in the District of Columbia.
Sutton had allegedly turned off his lights and sirens as he sped up behind Hylton-Brown, according to the indictment of the two officers.
The charging documents also said that neither Sutton nor Zabavsky made any officials in the MPD chain of command aware about Hylton-Brown’s injuries, which delayed notification to the internal affairs division in charge of making formal referrals to federal authorities responsible for launching civil rights investigations.
Neither of the officers took steps to collect evidence or preserve the scene and roughly 20 minutes after the crash both officers allegedly deactivated their body-worn cameras to speak privately to each other, according to the charging documents.
After departing the scene of the crash, Sutton and Zabavsky allegedly made misleading statements describing their pursuit of Hylton-Brown and made no mention of his serious injuries, significantly delaying an investigation into their conduct.
Both officers pled not guilty. Sutton’s attorney, Michael J. Hannon, said at his initial appearance in federal court that the officers believed Hylton-Brown was a member of a drug gang and was armed and dangerous, according to the Washington Post.
Sutton and Zabavsky’s attorneys did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The death of Hylton-Brown was followed by days of protests outside the MPD’s 4th District station that resulted in clashes between activists and police in riot gear.
The D.C. Council this week passed legislation to limit police car chases. The measure, sponsored by council member Janeese Lewis George, would prohibit officers from chasing vehicles unless the occupants are suspected of being involved in a violent crime or if the pursuit would not risk death or bodily injury. The legislation would prohibit officers from roadblocking or ramming vehicles.
ABC News has reached out to Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office to see if she intends to sign the bill.
“The verdict today provides some closure after two years of what has been a difficult and emotional matter for our city,” said the Metropolitan Police Department in a statement. “We recognize that the loss of any life is tragic. As a Department, we will continue to review our policies and training, adjusting as necessary.”
According to MPD, both Sutton and Zabavsky have been on indefinite suspension without pay throughout the legal proceedings.
MPD will complete an internal investigation into this incident now that the trial has concluded, the department said in a statement.
Kim Wilde is back on the market. The ’80s singer, best known for her track “Kids in America,” announced on social media that she and her husband of more than 25 years, Hal Fowler, have divorced.

With less than 10 days until the new year, Pusha T is reflecting on the process of making his album, It’s Almost Dry. In an interview with People, he said his intention was to release a worthwhile follow-up to 2018’s Daytona. He also wanted to work quickly and get back to his role as father to son Nigel Brixx Thornton, who sharpens his musical focus and prevents him from being a “wack rapper dad.”
Pusha recalled that his recording sessions were like “rap-nerd school,” complete with one- to two-hour conversations about lyrical references. He said when the album was finally complete he called Diddy and JAY-Z to get their honest opinions.
“He’s crafted classic albums for my favorite rapper ever, the Notorious B.I.G. So it’s, like, I just have to get his ears on it. I need his ears,” Pusha said of Diddy. “And Hov is the same way. Lyrically, there isn’t a better rapper. So, of course, I always make sure that they hear it and the feedback is, like it was for It’s Almost Dry, phenomenal.”
It’s Almost Dry dropped in April featuring “an all-star cast.” Push has teased that it’s the rap album of the year, a title he’s one step closer to achieving after being nominated for a Grammy in that category.
“It’s not that I’m being prophetic or just having the natural rapper braggadocio attitude,” he said of his prediction. “It’s just that I know this subgenre of hip-hop that I do so well and I know when I’ve nailed it. And I just felt, like, since the album was finished, I was like, ‘Yeah, we nailed it. We definitely nailed it.'”
“When I say rap — and I’m talking about the actual art — I actually, lyrically, murdered it,” he continued.
