The Neighbourhood drummer Brandon Fried is no longer in the band following an allegation of sexual misconduct against him.
Over the weekend, musician María Zardoya, lead singer of the band The Marías, posted in an Instagram Story that Fried had “groped [her] under the table” while they were both at a bar.
“It was one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever experienced,” Zardoya wrote. “I felt an invasion of my space, privacy and body.”
Tagging The Neighbourhood, Zardoya wrote that the band “need[s] a new drummer,” adding that Fried is “a complete creep.”
The “Sweater Weather” outfit then tweeted that “As a result of Brandon’s actions, he will no longer be a member of The Neighbourhood.”
“We are grateful to Maria for coming forward,” the tweet reads. “We have zero tolerance for any kind of inappropriate behavior towards women.”
Fried, who’d been The Neighbourhood’s drummer since 2014, has also released a statement on his Instagram Story apologizing to Zardoya for his “inexcusable and intolerable” actions.
“They are not reflective of who I am as a person, but clearly a reflection of who I become while under the influence,” Fried wrote. “It is evident that I must address my problems with alcohol and substance abuse, which I am now seeking help for.”
“I want to apologize to women who have been victims of any behavior that has left them feeling uncomfortable or violated,” he added. “I am also sorry to The Neighbourhood and our fans for letting them down.”
It was a Beatles family reunion over the weekend, starring Paul McCartney and John Lennon‘s son Julian.
“It’s Amazing who you run into in an airport Lounge! None other than Uncle Paul…. So, so lovely, and what are the chances,” Julian tweeted along with a black-and-white photo of himself posing with Macca. Anther photo showed Paul holding up his cell phone, which is displaying Julian’s new album, Jude.
Jude, Julian’s first album in more than 10 years, takes its title from “Hey Jude,” the 1968 Beatles song that McCartney famously wrote for him when he was five years old, to cheer him up after his parents split.
Julian recently told ABC Audio that titling the record Jude partly ties in with his recent decision to legally change his given first name, John, to Julian, which he’s been called since childhood.
“Jules, Jude, me, retrospective, collection of songs from life, taking ownership of the name Jude and/or being me finally…that all made sense to me,” he explained.
We were promised “special guests” for Elton John‘s final North American show, which is taking place November 20 at Dodger Stadium and being livestreamed on Disney+. Well, we’re getting them.

Dua was, of course, Elton’s duet partner on their global hit “Cold Heart.” Brandi is a good friend of Elton’s and appears on his most recent album, The Lockdown Sessions. British singer Kiki Dee was Elton’s duet partner for his 1976 number-one hit “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”
A new trailer has also been released for the November 20 show. It starts at 11 p.m. ET on Disney+ and will be preceded by Countdown to Elton Live, featuring interviews with Elton and his husband/manager, David Furnish, as well as fan messages and footage from Dodger Stadium.

(NEW YORK) — Although it’s still early in the flu season, hospitals around the country are seeing more and more cases of the virus, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reporting there were at least 2.8 million cases, 23,000 hospitalizations and 1,300 deaths as of last week.
The higher-than-usual increase in flu cases is stretching hospitals to capacity, many of which are already trying to manage a surge in RSV cases in children as well as address ongoing COVID-19 cases.
Flu, which is caused by influenza viruses, is a contagious illness. According to the CDC, anyone can get the flu and symptoms of the virus include body or muscle aches, a cough, fatigue, fever, headache, a runny or stuffy nose and sore throat. Diarrhea and vomiting may also occur but these symptoms tend to affect children more than adults. Those who are at higher risk of developing complications from the flu include older adults over the age of 65, individuals with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women and young children, especially those 2 and under.
Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House’s COVID-19 response coordinator, told “Good Morning America” that one of the best ways to protect against the flu and COVID-19 is to get vaccinated.
“We are seeing a resurgence of flu. We’re seeing COVID cases tick up. But the good news is we’ve got two highly effective vaccines and the most important thing people can do to protect themselves and their families this holiday season is to get those vaccines,” Jha said. “And we are ready. We’re ready to help hospitals if they’re overwhelmed if they need extra staffing. We’re ready to manage this flu and COVID season ahead.”
Individuals can choose to get both their flu and COVID vaccines at the same time or wait to space them out, according to guidance from the CDC.
“I got them both at the same time. Totally safe, totally reasonable to do that. That’s what I’ve been recommending,” Jha said. “Obviously, if you want to keep them apart, that’s fine, but I really think it’s totally safe and very effective to get them at the same time and then you’re just done.”
The vaccines are not 100% preventative but Jha said they are effective in protecting against serious illnesses.
“If you get this vaccine, it is still possible to get the flu. These vaccines are not 100% effective at preventing infection, but they are terrific at preventing serious illness. They’ll keep you out of the hospital. They’ll keep you out of the ICU and that’s what really matters,” he said.
Jha added that this year’s flu vaccine appears to be a good match to the dominant flu virus strain in circulation.
“It’s actually quite effective,” he said. “It is not every year but this year, it really looks like it’s a very good match.”
And for those who say they’re tired of getting yet another vaccine, Jha has this message: “It’s obviously been a tough two-and-a-half years. I think some people have gotten out of practice of getting their annual flu shot. What I remind people is we’ve been doing this for a long time. In the fall, we go out and get the flu vaccine. This year, add that COVID vaccine. If people do that, it’s a great way to make sure you have a safe and non-disruptive holiday season ahead.”

Dolly Parton, starstruck? It might seem like a strange proposition — after all, she’s one of the biggest music stars out there — but she admits there are a few celebrities who make her pretty nervous.
“I’m working on a rock album now, and I’ve been talking to Elton John, Mick Jagger and Debbie Harry,” the singer tells People. “Every time I talk to one of them, it’s just such a thrill.”
Dolly’s not the only country act susceptible to getting butterflies when she’s talking to a huge musical artist. In 2009, Martina McBride told The Bootthat she always feels a little starstruck when she’s talking to one of the leading ladies of country music.
“Reba McEntire!” Martina revealed. “I don’t know what it is because she always goes out of her way to make me feel really welcome, but I just love her so much and admire her, and I never know what to say.”
Another country star who gets starstruck by one of the genre’s legends: Scotty McCreery. Hesaid that anytime he’s around Garth Brooks, he winds up “stumbling over my words,” and added, “I remember the first time I met George Strait, it’s like I couldn’t speak.”
And getting starstruck is all relative — Dolly might get nervous around rock icons, but for younger stars like Scotty, no one’s bigger than her.
“Probably the most starstruck I’ve ever been [was] meeting Dolly Parton for the first time,” he says. “That was quite a moment for me. I’m not even sure what I said, it probably didn’t even make sense, but that was pretty spectacular.”
Paramount + on Sunday debuted the teaser trailer for the new Yellowstone prequel 1923, starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. The new original drama series, per the streamer, “will introduce a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob and matriarch Cara — played respectively by Ford and Mirren. The series will explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.” 1923 debuts on December 18 on Paramount+…
