Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers among 2023 New Orleans Jazz Fest headliners

Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers are among the headliners for the 2023 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, taking place April 28-30 and May 4-7.

The bill also includes Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Gary Clark Jr. and, The Revivalists. Dead & Company, Ed Sheeran, Lizzo, Santana, Jon Batiste and Jill Scott will headline, as well.

Jazz Fest marks Mumford & Sons’ return to the stage following frontman Marcus Mumford releasing his debut solo album last September.

Melissa Etheridge mourns friend and fan Lisa Marie Presley: “I can’t believe she is gone”

Melissa Etheridge took to Twitter to mourn her late friend Lisa Marie Presley. Elvis Presley‘s only child died Thursday at the age of 54 after being rushed to the hospital.

“Lisa, @LisaPresley was a friend of mine. She was kind and fun and living a strange life as best she could,” Melissa tweeted. “I am thinking of her family that has endured so much loss and sending all, so much love. She was special with a talent all her own. She will be missed.”

Melissa also noted that Lisa Marie wasn’t just a friend but also a fan. “She once told me that the first song she ever sang for anyone was ‘Similar Features,'” Melissa tweeted, referring to a popular track on her debut album. “I was honored. I can’t believe she is gone.”

In 2015, Lisa Marie wrote a piece for TIME about her friendship with Melissa, describing what a fan she was and explaining that they became friendly after Melissa emailed her following the release of her debut album, because her sound had been compared to Melissa’s. Their friendship grew after Melissa and her then-partner moved into Lisa Marie’s neighborhood.

Sadly, Melissa and Lisa Marie had something in common other than music: Both had sons who died tragically in 2020. Melissa’s son Bennett died of causes related to opioid addiction in May 2020. He was 21. Lisa Marie’s son, Benjamin, died by suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27.

Armani White taps Floyd Mayweather for “Goated” music video

Following the success of his breakthrough single “Billie Eilish,” Armani White‘s back again. This time around, he’s teamed up with Denzel Curry for a song titled “Goated.”

The song dropped Friday and is accompanied by the release of a visual that features boxing GOAT Floyd Mayweather. The music video, directed by Mikey D’Amico and Davey Robinson, sees the rapper training alongside the boxer.

Speaking to ABC Audio ahead of the release, Armani said “Goated” is a song in which he claims to be “up there” with some of music’s legends.

“It’s kind of just like a trophy to symbolize a moment of like, you know, we brought Ludacris out of retirement for ‘Billie Eilish.’ We got Floyd Mayweather. We got all of these, like, GOAT legendary people. Nile Rodgers,” he said. “It’s almost a moment to just say, like, ‘Oh, I think I’m up there with these folks.'”

The star-studded collaborations, Armani adds, “kind of happens naturally” when you have a hit record like he does.

“When you got a record like ‘Billie Eilish,’ you can do whatever you want in the world, I ain’t gonna lie to ya,” he says.

Theory of a Deadman announces ‘Dinosaur’ album; listen to new song “Ambulance”

Theory of a Deadman has announced a new album called Dinosaur.

The eighth studio effort from the Canadian rockers will arrive March 17 and features the previously released title track. A second cut, titled “Ambulance,” is out now via digital outlets.

“Dinosaur is by far one of the most fun albums we’ve ever made,” says frontman Tyler Connolly. “Our fans are gonna love the return of the riff rock and the classic Theory signature songs, like ‘Ambulance.’ This song is all about that one night you have way too much fun with your friends where you feel like you’re gonna end the night in the back of an ambulance! Dig in and hold on!”

Fittingly, “Ambulance” is accompanied by an animated visualizer featuring a dinosaur driving an ambulance, which you can watch now on YouTube.

Ahead of Dinosaur’s arrival, Theory will hit the road in February on the Rock Resurrection Tour with Skillet and Saint Asonia.

Camila Cabello celebrates 5th anniversary of debut solo album

It’s officially been five years since Camila Cabello released her eponymous debut studio album, and the singer is reflecting on how much it changed her life.

Taking to her Instagram, she shared a Reel highlighting various music videos and memories from 2018. “It’s been #5YearsofCAMILA and we have never been the same,” she wrote and included a winking face emoji. She also asked her fans to tell her their “favorite memory from this era.”

Camila took to her Instagram Story to open up about how meaningful the anniversary was to her. “5 years since my debut album and from that moment [to] today, I still don’t know what i did to deserve to be able to do what I love most for a living,” she expressed. “Thank you for listening and for your love.”

The former Fifth Harmony singer released Camila on January 12, 2018. The effort soared to the top of the Billboard 200 chart and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. Its success allowed her to launch her Never Be The Same Tour. She also opened for Taylor Swift‘s Reputation Stadium Tour during that time.

Camila contained the hits “Crying in the Club,” “Havana,” “Never Be the Same” and “Consequences.” To date, the album is RIAA-certified Platinum.

‘Bachelor’ alum Nick Viall engaged to Natalie Joy: ‘For the rest of my life, it’s you’

Nick Viall has handed out his final rose. The Bachelor alum is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Natalie Joy.

The lovebirds shared the news in a joint Instagram post Thursday evening, alongside a carousel of photos showing off the stunning engagement ring.

They captioned the post, “For the rest of my life, it’s you.”

The comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages, including some from fellow Bachelor stars like Becca Tilley, who wrote, “Congratulations! So happy for you both!”

The engagement announcement comes about a week after Viall hinted that a proposal could be near.

“Anything is possible, I think. The sky’s the limit for us in 2023,” The Viall Files host told Life & Style on January 7. Natalie added, “Fingers crossed.”

Nick and Natalie were first linked in 2020, and went public the following year. Nick opened up about his relationship on an episode of The Viall Files podcast.

“It’s fun. It’s great. I’m super happy,” he said in February 2021, later sharing that the two met online. “She slid into my DMs. It was very romantic.”

Meek Mill receives pardon from Pennsylvania governor

A major burden has been lifted from Meek Mill‘s shoulders, thanks to Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf. The politician pardoned the rapper for gun and drug charges he acquired back in 2008.

In celebration of the occasion, Meek took to social media to express his gratitude. “Thank yall. I’m only gone do more for my community on God!” he wrote on Instagram alongside the pardon document. #newlevelsunlocked.”

“I got pardoned today…,” he added on Twitter. “I’m taking things really far from being a trench baby!”

Meek picked up the drug and weapons charges in 2008 when he was 18 years old. He was initially sentenced to 11 to 23 months in prison, but was released under a five-year parole agreement after eight months. In the years that followed, the rapper was arrested and charged a few times for probation violations, which ultimately resulted in a two- to four-year sentence in state prison. He was granted bail after serving five months of his sentence.

Following Meek’s allegations that Judge Genece Brinkley, who presided over his case, was biased against him, the appeals court overturned his conviction in 2019. The rapper was granted a new trial with a different judge.

Meek, whose experience led to the formation of the criminal justice reform organization Reform Alliance, was one of 369 individuals to receive a pardon from Wolf. The pardon permanently expunges the 2008 offenses from his criminal record.

Mick Fleetwood shares eulogy for Christine McVie

As previously reported, Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were among the people who gathered together in Malibu earlier this week for a “Celebration of Life” for their Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie, who passed away in November. In an Instagram post Thursday, Mick shared the eulogy he wrote for her.

Calling it a “beautiful tribute to a wonderful woman and an incredible talent,” Mick first shared a poem he wrote for McVie after she passed away: “This is a day where my dear, sweet friend Christine McVie has taken flight. And left us Earthbound folks to listen with bated breath to the sounds of that ‘songbird.’ Part of my heart has flown away today … I will miss everything about you Christine McVie. Memories abound … they fly to me.”

Mick said he believes Christine “would have been truly amazed at all the attention and celebrations of her music around the world,” noting, “She is being remembered everywhere. Just as her song says, ‘I want to be with you everywhere,’ and she is.”

“It’s with a sense of gratitude and thanks to the Fleetwood Mac family that we are a part of … and losing such a magical component has sparked a celebration of what Christine means to us,” he concluded. “We all miss her as a family member, as a friend, an artist, a performer, and God knows, a writer of excellence. And those years sharing life together will always be remembered.”

After Golden Globes appearance, Jamie Lee Curtis reveals she’s COVID positive

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Jamie Lee Curtis may have missed out on a Golden Globe for Everything Everywhere All at Once on Tuesday, but she apparently didn’t go home empty-handed.

The Halloween series star posted to Instagram three positive COVID-19 tests and explained that because of it, she is forced to miss some upcoming award shows at which the movie is nominated.

“F*** COVID!” began the actress.

“Sadly, this head cheerleader is not going to be at all the weekend festivities cheering on her friends and colleagues. Life on life’s terms,” she continued.

“I’m glad that there are all these home tests available so that I didn’t go to the @americanfilminstitute lunch and spread my germs. I was SO looking forward to going to the @bafta tea and the @criticschoice awards as a nominee and member of a motley crew!”

She concluded of her Everything Everywhere colleagues, “I’m so proud of these people, and I look forward to cheering them on through my TV set. Stay safe out there people.”

Mega Millions jackpot surges to $1.35 billion

Mega Millions jackpot surges to .35 billion

(NEW YORK) — The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to $1.35 billion for Friday’s drawing, the second-largest in the game’s history.

The only Mega Millions jackpot larger than Friday’s prize is the $1.537 billion prize won in South Carolina on Oct. 23, 2018.

The prize is also now the fourth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Last November’s $2.04 billion prize, taken by a single winner in California, is the largest in U.S. history.

The lump sum cash option payout for Friday’s drawing is $707.9 million — before taxes.

Tuesday night’s winning numbers were 7, 13, 14, 15 and 18 and the Mega Ball number was 9.

The most recent Mega Millions jackpot win was at $502 million, shared by winning tickets in California and Florida, on Oct. 14.

While no one has claimed the top prize, there have been a total of almost 33.3 million winning tickets sold in the 25 drawings since the jackpot was last won.

Sixteen tickets matched the five white balls to win $1 million on Tuesday, while three people matched all five and played the multiplier to take home $3 million.
