The Who’s Roger Daltrey is still working hard on his planned biopic about the band’s late drummer, Keith Moon, and in a new interview with Vulture he gives fans an update on the progress being made.

“I just finished a script, and I’m hoping to do my biopic of Keith within the next couple of years,” he says. “I’m very pleased with the script. I want people to get an understanding of him and his life, and the complete genius he was.”

Daltrey says he already has an idea of an actor “who’s a role model” to play Moon, although he worries the unidentified actor, who he says is around 40, may be “too old.” However, Daltrey thinks it still could work, because “Keith looked 50 when he died. He was 32, but he looked 54.”

“But there’s an actor who I’ve seen and when I look at him I go, ‘God, it’s Moon,’” Roger says. “It’s all to do with the eyes. The eyes are all important. You virtually wouldn’t need to say any dialogue because you could read it in his eyes.”

And it sounds like Roger won’t stop until the movie is made, noting, “I’m driven by this project. It came to me in a dream 30 years ago.”

Daltrey also gave a little insight into what he hopes is in the future for The Who, including an orchestrated Quadrophenia.

“That’s my ambition. But I can’t tell you I could physically handle it,” the almost-79-year-old says. “It’s a challenging piece of work and it deserves respect. But who knows. We’ve gone on far longer than I ever thought we would. I didn’t think it would last until the end of the week.”

White House communications director Kate Bedingfield stepping down

(WASHINGTON) — White House communications director Kate Bedingfield is departing the administration at the end of this month — halfway into President Joe Biden’s term and just ahead of a possible reelection campaign.

Bedingfield has held the role since his inauguration. Prior to that, she served as Biden’s deputy campaign manager for his 2020 run and served in various communications roles in the Obama administration.

The White House, in announcing Bedingfield’s departure, said she “played an integral role in the successes of the first two years of the Biden-Harris Administration, from the American Rescue Plan through the Inflation Reduction Act.”

Biden called her a “loyal and trusted adviser, through thick and thin.”

“She was a critical strategic voice from the very first day of my presidential campaign in 2019 and has been a key part of advancing my agenda in the White House,” he said. “The country is better off as a result of her hard work and I’m so grateful to her — and to her husband and two young children — for giving so much.”

Bedingfield was set to leave the Biden administration last summer but decided to stay on in her role, saying at the time the “work is too important and too energizing and I have a lot of gas left in the tank.”

She will be replaced by Ben LaBolt, a former adviser to President Barack Obama.

Bedingfield’s exit comes on the heels of Biden’s longtime chief of staff Ron Klain leaving the administration. Klain was a senior adviser on Biden’s 2020 campaign, and the two had a decades-long working relationship that dated back to Biden’s time in the Senate.

Klain officially ended his time as chief of staff last week, and was sent off with cheers from White House staff gathered outside the West Wing.

Before he left, Klain gave a nod to a potential reelection campaign by Biden.

“I look forward to being on your side when you run for president in 2024,” Klain said to applause at a transition ceremony earlier this month.

Biden is expected to soon announce whether he will seek a second term. The president told reporters on Thursday he intends to run, but is “just not ready” to make the final decision.

In his State of the Union address earlier this week, Biden touted his accomplishments as he called on Congress to “finish the job” on remaining priorities such as police reform, gun control and more.

The administration has also been on a post-State of the Union “blitz” with Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Cabinet officials visiting 22 states, according to the White House.

But in the lead-up to a possible 2024 announcement, a new ABC News/Washington Post poll found many Democratic voters were apathetic about seeing Biden run again. Nearly six in 10 Democratic-aligned adults don’t want to see Biden renominated.

On This Day – February 10, 1971: Carole King releases’ Tapestry’

On This Day – February 10, 1971…

Carole King released her second album, Tapestry, which went on to be a massive hit for the singer/songwriter. It featured several songs that went on to be King classics, including “It’s Too Late,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “So Far Away,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “You’ve Got a Friend” and others.

Tapestry spent 15 straight weeks at number one and won four Grammy Awards, on its way to becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. It holds the record for the most consecutive weeks at number one by a female artist, and until 2017 held the record for the longest-charting album by a female solo artist in the U.S. The record was broken by Adele’s 21.

Several songs on Tapestry also became hits for other artists, including “You’ve Got a Friend,” which was recorded by James Taylor and went to number one, and “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” which became a classic thanks to Aretha Franklin.

After a week of teases, Linkin Park has released “Lost,” a previously unreleased song that dates back to the Meteora era.

The track, which features lead vocals by the late Chester Bennington, is available now via digital outlets and is streaming now alongside an anime-styled video on YouTube.

“Finding [‘Lost’] was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself,” says LP’s Mike Shinoda. “For years, fans have been asking us to release something with Chester’s voice, and I’m thrilled we’ve been able to make that happen in such a special way.”

As theorized, “Lost” previews a 20th anniversary reissue of Meteora, which will arrive April 7. The collection will be available in a number of configurations, including as a super deluxe box set edition featuring a host of never-before-released material, as well as demos, B-sides and live tracks.

“I think [fans are] going to be floored when they hear and see all the incredible unreleased songs and video footage in METEORA|20,” Shinoda says.

Meteora, the sophomore follow-up to LP’s RIAA Diamond-certified debut, Hybrid Theory, was first released in March 2003. It’s been certified seven-times Platinum, and spawned the hits “Numb” and “Faint.”

The upcoming reissue will be Linkin Park’s first new release since the Hybrid Theory 20th anniversary reissue, which dropped in 2020. The band has largely been quiet since the death of Bennington in 2017. They haven’t performed live since their tribute concert to Bennington that same year. Last April, Shinoda said that Linkin Park didn’t currently have any new music or live show plans.

New consumer warning on strollers due to entrapment risk, one death reported

CPSC

(NEW YORK) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers about possible entrapment hazards in Baby Trend Sit N’ Stand Double and Ultra strollers after one death was reported.

The agency and stroller manufacturer announced Thursday that model numbers beginning with “SS76” or “SS66” have a risk of entrapment between “the pivoting front canopy and the arm rest or seat back.”

“The space in front of and behind the strollers’ pivoting front canopy can entrap a child’s head or neck if a non-occupant child climbs on the exterior of the stroller or when a child in the front seat of the stroller is not securely restrained in the seat using all five points of the harness. Entrapment could lead to a loss of consciousness, serious injury, or death,” the warning stated.

The stroller company received at least one report of neck entrapment that resulted in the asphyxiation death of a non-occupant 14-month-old, the warning said. Baby Trend was also aware of one report that resulted in neck bruises to a 17-month-old.

“Consumers can mitigate the hazard by removing and separately storing the canopy when not in use, not allowing children to play on the strollers, and always fully securing children in the strollers with the built-in five-point harness,” the warning said.

The strollers, sold nationwide since 2009, are available online at Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond and at retailers including Walmart, Target, Kohl’s and buybuy BABY.

The two affected products have a black or silver frame and a black tray at the front with oval cutouts on the sides with “Sit N’ Stand” printed in white on the sides.

Consumers are encouraged to report incidents or injuries associated with the Baby Trend Sit N’ Stand Double or Ultra strollers or with any product to CPSC.

The show was a particularly important one for the band, as it was their first full concert with new frontman Adam Lambert. It took place at Kyiv’s Independence Square, where they performed in front of more than 35,000 fans, as well as a TV audience.

(NEW YORK) — Outside his packed resume of movie and television credits, Ben Affleck has become famous in meme form with his hands full of Dunkin’ iced coffee, doughnuts and more.

In recent days, the Quincy, Massachusetts-based coffee chain, beloved by the Boston-raised actor, has been hinting at an upcoming debut Super Bowl ad — and the latest hint includes a voiceover with a familiar Boston accent.

Dunkin’ released a new video on social media Thursday with what fans speculate is Affleck’s voice saying, “Welcome to Dunkin’ we’re a very friendly establishment. America runs on Dunkin’. This is the Dunkin’ run partner. What do you need?”

“Instead of wondering what could have been we started wondering what could have Ben,” Dunkin wrote in the caption.

Earlier this week, the coffee brand posted a close-up shot of a Dunkin’ iced coffee with on-screen text that read, “Something’s Ben Brewing” and Sunday’s date for Super Bowl LVII.

“Feelin’ like we could all use some Dunkin’ today,” the caption read.

Instagram users filled the comments with a range of ideas as to what it meant, with Affleck the resounding guess by many fans.

A representative for Dunkin’ told ABC News and Good Morning America that the teaser posts were all they could share ahead of the big game.

“We’re airing our first-ever Super Bowl ad this year, but you’ll have to tune in on Sunday to see what’s ‘Ben’ brewing,” Jill Nelson, chief marketing officer, said in a statement.

In the meantime, a photographer snapped a shot of Affleck sporting the black Dunkin’ t-shirt and matching visor complete with a headset as he leaned out the drive-through window of a Boston Dunkin’ location on Jan. 10.

Jennifer Lopez has apparently decided to play along with the posts roasting her husband Ben Affleck‘s apparently less-than-thrilled expressions during last Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, in a seemingly supportive post about Ben’s forthcoming movie, Air.

The actress and recording artist reposted the trailer of her director hubby’s film, about Nike’s creation of the Air Jordan sneaker, noting, “AIR…cannot wait.”

However, Jen slipped in a subtle dig at Affleck, in a scene in the ’80s-set film that featured a glum-looking Affleck as Nike president Phil Knight: A legend under Ben’s face that reads, “My husband’s happy face.”

It’s literally a blink-and-you-miss-it modification to the actual trailer — and judging by the replies from some of her 234 million followers — many people did, commenting only on how excited they were for the Amazon Studios film.

That said, she also Tweeted a snap of the caption, meme-style, on her Twitter, so everyone can get in on the joke.

The Internet started buzzing Sunday night about Affleck’s expressions, and an apparently tense exchange between the celebrity couple that even led some outlets to employ lip readers to see what the problem was.

The moment hearkened back to the famous 2016 “Sad Affleck” meme that came from the actor’s looking distant while reacting to a question about negative reviews of his film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Damar Hamlin calls trainer the ‘savior of my life’ in new interview

Heidi Gutman/ABC

(NEW YORK) — Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has made a remarkable recovery in just a little over a month after he suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed during the first quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals.

In a new interview with Good Morning America, Hamlin said that his life was saved by Denny Kellington, the trainer who administered on-field CPR on Jan. 2 for nearly 10 minutes and restored the player’s pulse, before he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

“I owe Denny my life. Literally,” Hamlin told GMA’s Michael Strahan. “He loves to say he was just doing his job. But… that night, he was literally the savior of my life, you know, administering CPR on me.”

The 24-year-old was initially placed on a ventilator, but showed improvement and was discharged from the hospital nine days later. Hamlin’s collapse has sparked a greater conversation of cardiac arrest in young people and the importance of bystanders learning to perform lifesaving CPR.

Hamlin said that Kellington’s quick-thinking made all of the difference in a life-or-death situation.

“If it wasn’t for someone showing up that day with a clear mind and whatever’s going on in their personal life, just to put it aside and just to be present in the moment to actually be able to do their job correctly — that’s something I’m truly thankful for and I don’t take for granted,” said Hamlin.

Tune in on Monday at 7 a.m. ET on Good Morning America to see what Hamlin said about his recovery and what’s ahead, including his future in professional football.

Britney Spears speaks out on intervention rumors: “It makes me sick to my stomach”

Britney Spears speaks out on intervention rumors: “It makes me sick to my stomach”

Britney Spears‘ husband, Sam Asghari, has already condemned the recent reports that his wife’s inner circle was planning an intervention because, as one source told TMZ, “I’m afraid she’s gonna die.”  But now, let’s hear from the woman herself.

Taking to Instagram, Britney wrote, “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough !!!”

“I’m probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well !!!” she continued. “I’m honestly not surprised at all … Again doing the best I can !!! Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year.”

And while sources told People that her life is “chaotic,” Britney wrote, “No folks, it’s not 2007 … it’s 2023 and I’m making my first homemade lasagna at home !!! I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room !!!”

“As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read !!! All that love right back at ya !!!” she concluded.

As previously reported, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office deputies last month performed a welfare check on Spears in response to calls after she deactivated her Instagram, which she’s done several times. Authorities reportedly made contact with Britney and determined she was not in any danger. Britney later called it the result of “some prank phone calls.”

Last November marked a year since Britney’s conservatorship was terminated. She had been placed under the care of her father, Jamie Spears, following her 2008 mental health crisis.
