Madonna‘s swanky old home in Hollywood Hills is back on the market, so now’s your chance if you’ve ever wished to own a piece of property that once belonged to her.
The Wall Street Journal reports the Spanish-style property, known as Castillo del Lago, has hit the market for $21 million. Madonna had purchased the 1926 estate for about $5 million back in 1993. Her brother Christopher Ciccon claimed in his memoir that she parted ways with it about three years later.
The Zillow listing finds the property offers nine bedrooms and six bathrooms over 10,513 square feet of living space. The home offers panoramic views of the Hollywood sign, Lake Hollywood and the famous Los Angeles backdrop, as well as ocean views.
As for its more luxurious perks, the property boasts a refrigerated wine room, media room, lap pool, oasis, a rose garden, viewing tower, a private gym and two separate staff rooms with a kitchen.
According to the listing, “This home stands as one of the most significant Spanish estates ever built in southern California.” It also claims, “This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most spectacular trophy Hollywood Hills Estates.”
WSJ reports the estate’s most recent owner seems to be fashion mogul Leon Max.
(NEW YORK) — More than a week after hazardous waste was burned by officials from a train derailment in Ohio, the health and environmental impact on the community remains uncertain.
A few of the cars contained vinyl chloride which breaks down into two main byproducts when burned: hydrogen chloride and phosgene.
“Vinyl chloride is classified as a known carcinogen to humans … it has been associated with a rare form of liver cancer called hepatic angiosarcoma. So that’s the main concern with the vinyl chloride,” said Dr. Stephanie Widmer, an emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist in New York.
Breathing high levels of vinyl chloride can cause dizziness or sleepiness. With even higher levels, passing out or death can occur, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Experts say determining potential risk after exposure is tricky.
“Usually these things happen with industrial workers. That’s where you’re seeing these types of cancers, for the most part — people who are exposed to levels of the vinyl chloride for a long period of time,” Widmer said.
Hydrogen chloride and phosgene can cause symptoms like eye or throat irritation or even respiratory issues like difficulty breathing.
“It’s always challenging to evaluate the human health risks from a chemical spill and it increases exponentially when those chemicals burn,” said Stephen Roberts, Ph.D., professor emeritus and former director of the Center for Environmental and Human Toxicology at the University of Florida.
In addition to hazardous chemicals, burning any kind of material can create particle pollution — tiny pieces of solid like dust, dirt, soot, or smoke. Breathing in these particles can be harmful to your health, according to the CDC.
Particle pollution has been linked to eye, lung and throat irritation, trouble breathing and associated with lung cancer and problems with babies at birth.
Those with heart disease are especially at risk, as breathing in particle pollution can cause serious problems like a heart attack.
“I would think the worst of it would have been immediately around when the fire occurred and the release occurred and I’d be surprised at new symptoms that would appear at this point,” Roberts said.
Air monitoring has not detected any levels of health concern in the community since the fire went out on Feb. 8, according to a statement from the Environmental Protection Agency.
“People should be concerned when things like these do happen, but there’s no need to be hysterically concerned. The EPA is keeping everybody up to date with the information that we need to stay safe,” Widmer said.
Water testing results also showed no detection of contaminants in the wells within the city’s water system, according to a statement released by the Ohio governor’s office.
When asked if he would drink the water on ABC News Live, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine replied, “Absolutely, if I was there right now, I would drink it.”
He then went on to say that residents with private wells should have their water tested.
(DELAND, Fla.) — A 3-year-old boy fatally shot himself when he found a 9 mm handgun in a nightstand in his Florida home, according to authorities.
The tragedy unfolded Wednesday evening at a home in DeLand, about 40 miles north of Orlando.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office called it “one of the worst calls imaginable” to respond to.
The shooting occurred as the 3-year-old and an 8-year-old were being watched by their 16-year-old sister while the parents were grocery shopping, Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said at a news conference Thursday.
The gun was discharged once, the sheriff said. It’s not clear exactly how the boy got into the nightstand and discharged the gun, Chitwood said.
Chitwood said the gun was usually kept in a safe, which was not working.
The family had a second gun on top of the fridge, he said.
The boy’s father is a state corrections officer, Chitwood said, adding that the guns were not department-issued.
Chitwood called the 16-year-old’s 911 call “heartbreaking.” The sheriff said the girl told dispatchers, “My brother shot himself and he’s not breathing.”
“This should never have happened,” he said.
No charges have been filed.
The sheriff pleaded with gun owners to keep them in safes.
“If you have little ones, even if you have teenagers, you gotta lock them up,” he said.
(NEW YORK) — At least 58 million Americans across 20 states are on alert for severe weather as a major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, high winds and a threat for tornadoes from Colorado to Alabama through Thursday.
A tornado watch was issued Thursday morning for parts of Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee, including Memphis, Tennessee; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Paducah, Kentucky.
Winter storm warnings stretch from New Mexico to Illinois for a swath of heavy snow. High wind warnings remain in effect across the Southwest and wind advisories are in effect across the Great Lakes.
The storm will continue to move east on Thursday, with more severe weather expected from the Gulf Coast all the way to Ohio.
There could be damaging winds and tornadoes from Texas to Alabama and up to Ohio. The highest tornado threats on Thursday will be in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.
Whiteout conditions are likely across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles, Kansas and southern Nebraska. Snowfall rates could reach 1 to 2 inches per hour accompanied with high winds.
Overnight Wednesday into Thursday, hail larger than golf balls hit Arkansas and Tennessee.
Damaging winds near 70 mph were reported in Oklahoma.
A swath of heavy snow is expected from Colorado to Michigan through Thursday. Some areas, especially across Kansas and Nebraska, could see 6 to 12 inches of snow.
Chicago could see up to 5 inches of snow; this could be their biggest snowstorm of the season if the system shifts any further south.
In Denver, almost 40% of Wednesday’s flights were delayed or canceled due to the heavy snow.
Tornadoes were possible Wednesday into Thursday morning from Arkansas to Tennessee and northern Mississippi. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said there was a possible tornado in Gibson County, Tennessee, early Thursday.
On Thursday afternoon, severe storms forecast to blossom in Mississippi and Alabama where a few strong tornadoes are possible.
Ahead of the storms, there were record warm temperatures in the Midwest and the East Coast. Numerous record warm temperatures were expected to be broken Wednesday and Thursday before more seasonable weather returns on Friday.
Some 200 records could be tied and broken through Friday.
Geezer Butler is ready to tell his life story. The Black Sabbath bassist will release his memoir, Into The Void: From Birth to Black Sabbath—And Beyond, on June 6.
The book is described as “a rollicking, effusive, and candid memoir by the heavy metal musician and founding member of Black Sabbath,” sharing that it details “how one of rock’s most influential bands formed and prevailed.“
The book has Butler sharing stories of the beginnings of Black Sabbath in Birmingham, England, through their stardom, along with stories of his childhood growing up in a family of seven. According to the publisher, it “reveals the softer side of the heavy metal legend and the formation of one of rock’s most exciting bands, while holding nothing back.”
The publisher adds, “Like Geezer’s bass lines, it is both original, dramatic, and forever surprising.”
Butler first announced he was working on his memoir back in April 2021 during an interview with Cleveland.com, sharing he was doing it “for my grandkids to read.” Last April he announced on Twitter that he had turned in his first draft and mentioned Into the Void as a possible title, along with other options.
Keanu Reeves is fighting for his freedom — and pretty much everybody else, too — in the final trailer to John Wick: Chapter 4.
As previously reported, the new film will have Wick given a chance to get the mysterious High Table’s target off his back — by facing It star Bill Skarsgård‘s Marquis de Gramont in single combat.
Along the way, however, there’s lots of multiple combat, of course. Wick is shown dispatching all manner of black-clad baddies, from the desert on horseback to the streets of Paris, with a gunfight amid the notorious traffic that spins around France’s Arc de Triomphe.
It’s there we see the return of what the filmmakers dubbed dog fu: As in Chapter 3: Parabellum, a four-legged friend has Wick’s back.
“The only way John Wick will have peace, and freedom, is in death,” Saïd Taghmaoui‘s returning High Table leader known as The Elder tells Wick.
“Yeah, not really,” Wick replies before offing him, too.
The movie also stars Bullet Train‘s Hiroyuki Sanada, English singer/songwriter Rina Sawayama — who is seen getting a gnarly kill of a goon crawling up a staircase, with her on his back — and martial arts legend and Rogue One star Donnie Yen, shown wiping out enemies with a flurry of his katana.

Orlando Bloom has opened up about his long-lasting romance with Katy Perry, sharing that while their relationship isn’t perfect, it’s a fun ride.
Speaking to Flaunt Magazine, the British heartthrob saluted his fiancé, whom he called his “baby mama and life partner.” The two share Daisy Dove, their 2-year-old daughter.
Orlando opened up about how he and Katy make their relationship work, even though they’re “in two very different pools.” He credited their creativity for helping them understand each other and encouraging them to evolve together.
“Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands,” he began. “Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging. I won’t lie.”
He continued, “We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity, [but] I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there’s definitely never a dull moment.”
Orlando also revealed his new show with Peacock, which is under a working title, is causing Katy to feel stressed. Apparently, the show is all about him pushing himself to the edge via extreme stunts, such as free diving over 100 feet or flying via a wingsuit.
The 46-year-old actor spoke of how procedures and protocols have kept him safe; he seemingly wasn’t afraid of suffering a catastrophic accident while filming.
So, if he doesn’t fear getting hurt, what is Orlando afraid of?
“I think not making good on a promise I’ve made to myself, that really scares me,” he said. “To fulfill whatever that mission is for myself and to maintain a sense of dignity, and not to let the wheels fall off.”

Blige, she’ll sit with famous friends, including 50 Cent, Taraji P. Henson and City Girls‘ Yung Miami, for some honest and intimate conversations.
“This is what I always wanted to do with a show that’s about me hanging out with people that I love, respect and admire,” she says in a 30-second teaser of the show.

Bob Dylan’s fourteenth studio album, Planet Waves, became his first album to hit number one on the Billboard Album chart.
Recorded with his longtime collaborators The Band, Planet Waves includes the future classic “Forever Young,” which appeared on the record in two different versions. The record was originally supposed to be titled Ceremonies of the Horsemen, and the release was delayed two weeks because of the title change.
Dylan and The Band supported Planet Waves with a tour, which was Dylan’s first since 1966.
It’s a dream come true for Star Trek fans: The cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation is back in the saddle one last time in the new and final season of Star Trek: Picardon Paramount+. But is it truly the final frontier?
“The response has been dangerously encouraging,” says Jonathan Frakes, who plays Capt. William Riker, longtime#1 to Adm. Jean-Luc Picard. He tells ABC Audio for now he’s just savoring the moment with his castmates. “We love each other, and we know how to play with each other, and we have a good story to tell.”
Just don’t expect those feel-good vibes to move on-screen between Frakes and Patrick Stewart, who suits up once again as the title character. The good admiral and his former first officer’s friendship is put to the test this outing.
“We’ve all fallen out with people,” Stewart explains to ABC Audio. “We’ve all said things that we regret afterwards. And there’s no reason why Jean-Luc Picard shouldn’t say them because he’s human. And this is one of the best aspects of Picard for me, that he becomes increasingly human.”
Other returning cast members include LeVar Burton as Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge, a role he originated back in 1987 when Star Trek: The Next Generation debuted.
Thirty-six years ago, the original Star Trek was at one of its high points thanks to a successful run of films, so the pressure on this crew of newcomers was enormous.
“Now, we are in a position to shepherd in the next generation of storytelling,” Burton says. “Who gets to do that? You know? We’re pretty lucky.”
