New Music Friday: DaBaby, Mýa, Don Toliver and more

DaBaby has released his fifth studio album, Be More Grateful. It features 23 tracks, as well as his daughter Twin, and guests Hunxho and Coi Leray. The album, according to a press release, “captures the many sides of the rapper’s current chapter, where he’s found the perfect balance of fast-paced, club-ready records with deeper reflections rooted in family, growth, and perspective.”

The soundtrack for the Omar Epps-starring film Moses the Black is out now. Executive produced by Wiz Khalifa and released in partnership with his Taylor Gang Ent. LLC, the album echoes the film’s themes of redemption, perseverance and second chances, according to a press release. The film is officially out in theaters nationwide.

Mýa talks about honest communication in her new song, “ASAP.” “This is for my core R&B fans who love feel good music, with meaningful lyrics that hit the soul,” she said in a statement. “‘ASAP’ highlights one reaching a crossroad and choosing clarity by being honest about your wants and needs in times of uncertainty, without fear or hesitation.”

The Game has followed up DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz: Every Movie Needs A Trailer with the release of its deluxe. DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz: Every Movie Needs A Trailer-The Credits features 12 new tracks, as well as guests Swizz Beatz, Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla $ign, Eric Bellinger, Dom Kennedy and Boosie Badazz. On the opening track, “Whatever,” Game mentions Kendrick Lamar, rapping, “If I ain’t the best rapper from Compton, it got to be Kendrick/ And if Kendrick the best rapper, tell him step up and end it.”

Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins to guest on new Charlie Puth album

The Dobbie Brothers’ Michael McDonald and singer Kenny Loggins are set to appear on pop star Charlie Puth’s upcoming album, Whatever’s Clever.

Charlie reveals in an Instagram video that he loves Yacht Rock, the term for smooth-sounding, jazz-inflected, highly polished soft rock hits from the ’70s and early ’80s. As an example, he plays a snippet of the Doobie Brothers’ “What a Fool Believes,” sung McDonald, and co-written by McDonald and Loggins.

“And I thought to myself, how am I gonna make a new album and not have Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins on it?” Charlie says in the video. “The answer is, you can’t. So what did a music lover like myself do? I called up Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins and they came over to my house.”

Charlie details how they all recorded a song together: Kenny played guitar, Michael played keyboards and they both sang on it. “Hearing his voice makes me wanna cry,” Charlie says of Michael’s soulful pipes.

After playing additional elements he recorded for the song — an orchestra, drums and background vocals — Charlie notes, “You put it all together and you have Yacht Rock in 2026 with the guys who invented it.”

Charlie concludes the video by playing a snippet of the unnamed song.

Whatever’s Clever is due March 27.

Vin Diesel shares title, release date for next ‘Fast and Furious’ movie

The next Fast and Furious movie is ready to race into theaters.

Universal has announced a new title and release date for its upcoming entry in the popular film franchise. The new movie will be called Fast Forever. It is set to debut in theaters on March 17, 2028.

Vin Diesel, who stars in and produces the franchise, took to Instagram on Friday to announce the news. He posted a photo of himself as Dominic Toretto and the late Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner from the 2001 original film, The Fast and the Furious.

“No one said the road would be easy… but it’s ours. One that has defined us and become our legacy… And a legacy… lasts Forever,” Diesel captioned the photo. “March 17th 2028! FAST FOREVER.”

The previous entry in the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast X, premiered in theaters in 2023. It was directed by Louis Leterrier.

Diesel said in February 2024 that this 11th film in the series would mark the end of its main story.

“Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting,” Diesel wrote on Instagram at the time. “This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. Hope to make you proud!”

Actress Catherine O’Hara dies at 71

Actress Catherine O’Hara has died. She was 71.

The Emmy Award winner was best known for her roles in beloved shows and films like Schitt’s Creek, Beetlejuice and Home Alone.

O’Hara’s manager confirmed the news of her death Friday. Details surrounding her death are not known.

O’Hara’s long career saw her take on more than 100 roles across TV and film, most recently for her Emmy-nominated roles in The Studio and The Last of Us in 2025.

She also recently starred in Schitt’s Creek as Moira Rose, a grandiose actress who is blissfully detached from reality. Her performance in Schitt’s Creek — which also starred Eugene Levy, Dan Levy and Annie Murphy — earned her a Primetime Emmy Award in 2020, as well as a Golden Globe in 2021.

O’Hara first rose to widespread fame in 1988, starring as overdramatic artist and perfectionist Delia in Beetlejuice alongside Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder.

Her portrayal as mom Kate McCallister to a young Macaulay Culkin in the 1990 film Home Alone also revealed another side of O’Hara onscreen, as she warmed the hearts of audiences in a performance that provided a portrait of motherhood.

Catherine Anne O’Hara was born on March 4, 1954, in Toronto, Ontario, as the sixth of seven children, and the older sister to Canadian singer Mary Margaret O’Hara. She got her start in acting when she landed a role on the Canadian television sketch comedy show Second City Television in 1974.

According to the official Second City Television website, O’Hara had auditioned for SCTV two years prior and replaced Gilda Radner when the latter left in 1974.

While on SCTV, O’Hara showcased her range, impersonating figures like Meryl Streep, Brooke Shields and Lucille Ball. Her characters on the show included Lola Heatherton and Dusty Towne. She also contributed as a writer on the show and earned her first Primetime Emmy for outstanding writing in a variety or music program in 1982.

Michael Bublé pays tribute to Catherine O’Hara: ‘Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to cover it’

Michael Bublé has taken to Instagram to share his sorrow at the passing of Emmy-winning comedic actress Catherine O’Hara, best known for her roles in Beetlejuice, Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek. Like Michael, Catherine was Canadian. She got her start on SCTV, the same Canadian sketch show that launched the careers of Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis and John Candy.

“Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to cover it. Catherine O’Hara was one of a kind. A rare light in this world and her passing hits with a weight I can’t fully put into words,” Michael wrote on Instagram.

“She wasn’t just a legendary artist, actor and comedian. She was an ambassador for Canada in the truest sense: brilliant, fearless, deeply original, and so full of humanity,” he continued. “She made the world laugh, but she also made people feel seen.”

“As an artist, she inspired me more than she’ll ever know. She set the bar for what it means to represent your country with excellence and grace and all without ever losing warmth or humility. My heart is broken for her family, her loved ones, and everyone who adored her, both here in Canada and around the world.”

He concluded, “If you’re grieving this loss, you’re not alone. We’re all holding a piece of this sadness together. Rest easy, Catherine. Thank you for everything.”

Watch Elton John-narrated video highlighting best new artist Grammy nominees as children

In a new Spotify ad promoting this year’s Grammys, you can see all of this year’s best new artist Grammy nominees performing when they were just kids — as Elton John does the voice-over.

Called “Trust In Your Sound,” the visual shows the nominees — Alex Warren, Olivia Dean, Lola Young, KATSEYE, Addison Rae, sombr, Leon Thomas and The Marías — as children playing instruments, and performing onstage or in their homes. Then we seen them now, performing for massive crowds and recording music in the studio.

Elton says in the voice-over, “When you start to make music, you just have to follow what’s inside of you. Take a chance. Always be brave. Don’t be cautious. Just go for what you believe in.”

The ad will air during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.

While Elton is decades older than the nominees, he keeps his finger on the pulse of what’s happening in music. He’s been a huge supporter of Lola and Olivia, as well as last year’s best new artist winner, Chappell Roan. He tells Rolling Stone, “I’m still making records, still involved in music, but it’s the new artists and how far they’ve come that continue to make me so happy.”

“You don’t give up on a young artist. Their first or second album might not do well, but if you believe in them, watching them flourish is like watering a plant and seeing it become the most beautiful flower,” he adds. “It’s the greatest reward in music, seeing a young artist persevere and blossom. It keeps me alive and inspired.”

Cream releases ‘White Room’ video from 2005 Royal Albert Hall reunion

Cream, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band made up of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, has released an official video of the 2005 Royal Albert Hall performance of their iconic track “White Room.”

The performance is featured on the newly reissued live album Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6, 2005, which captured the band’s four-night reunion at the venue after 37 years apart.

The album is out now on triple blue and green splatter vinyl, and double blue and orange CD.

Released in October 2005, Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6, 2005, captures Cream’s first shows together since their farewell concerts at the same venue in November 1968. The band did reunite one other time, in 1993, for their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

From Ashes to New announces new album, ’Reflections’

From Ashes to New has announced a new album called Reflections.

The fifth studio effort from the “Through It All” outfit is due out April 17. It’s the follow-up to 2023’s Blackout, which spawned the single “Barely Breathing.”

“I wanted to take what we are good at and push it even further,” vocalist Matt Brandyberry says. “That was the process for this whole record.”

Reflections includes the 2025 singles “New Disease” and “Drag Me.” A third cut, “Villain,” is out now alongside a video, which you can watch on YouTube.

From Ashes to New will be touring the U.S. alongside Black Veil Brides starting in April.

Ariana Grande jokingly praises photo edit that gave her six fingers: ‘thankful for this’

Ariana Grande recently joked that she’s so busy that she’d need “an extra brain and four more arms” to make another album. But it appears she’ll settle for an additional finger.

A fan reposted an image from the photoshoot Ari did for Vogue Japan, in which the singer appears to have an extra digit on her left hand. “who’s responsible for giving ariana 6 fingers,” the fan captioned the photo.

Ariana replied in the comments, “Holy s***.” She then commented, “oh my goodness how exciting ! i’ve been saying i need some extra appendages so that i can start an album ! thankful for this.”

The photo has since been corrected on Vogue Japan’s website.

Josh Ross travels to the ‘Bar and Back’ after four JUNO noms

Fresh off four nominations at this year’s JUNO Awards, Josh Ross is releasing his new track “Bar and Back.”

“’Bar And Back’ is about that moment when you realize that you’re feeling something deeper than the other person … between the back and forth and desire for something real and lasting,” the Canadian singer says. “A place a lot of us have found ourselves at one point or another.”

The song is Josh’s first new music since he released his debut album, Later Tonight, in September.

The “Single Again” hitmaker competes for JUNO fan choice, single of the year for “Hate How You Look,” album of the year and country album of the year for Later Tonight at March’s awards.

On Feb. 6 Josh sets out on his 17-date Later Tonight Tour playing Moncton, New Brunswick. In April, he’ll join Nate Smith for his Long Live Country Rock & Roll Tour.
