Misfits have announced a trio of U.S. shows for the summer.
The reunited horror punks — consisting of original members Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only, plus longtime guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein — will play Tampa, Florida, on June 24, Newark, New Jersey on July 8, and Phoenix, Arizona, on July 15.
Megadeth will also be on the bill for the Tampa show, while The Gaslight Anthem and AFI will support in Newark and Phoenix, respectively.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 24, at 10 a.m. local time. A pre-sale begins Wednesday, March 22, at 10 a.m. ET.
The BillboardHot 100 is experiencing some Disney power with both Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez chilling in the top 10.
Miley Cyrus‘ song “Flowers” returned to #1 while Selena’s “Calm Down” remix with Afrobeats artist Rema launched into eighth place.
Looking at “Flowers” first — the song knocked The Weeknd and Ariana Grande‘s “Die For You” remix out of the top spot, which it previously held over the past two weeks. “Flowers” has now been #1 for seven nonconsecutive weeks.
Fans streamed Miley’s song 28.2 million times over the past week and it sold an additional 15,000 copies. “Flowers” also continues to shake up the radio, notching a fifth week at #1 on Billboard‘s Radio Songs chart.
In addition, Miley’s new album Endless Summer Vacation bowed at #3 on the Billboard 200, bested by second place SOS from SZA and Morgan Wallen‘s #1 album One Thing at a Time.
Now onto Selena — “Calm Down” has galloped from 19th to eighth place on the Hot 100 after fans streamed it 14.9 million times over the past week. The song, which was released August 26, also sold 5,000 more copies.
This is Selena’s latest song to hit the Top 10 following 2019’s “Lose You to Love Me.” As for Rema, this is his first entry on the Hot 100.
Both Selena and Miley got their start on the Disney Channel, respectively starring in their shows Wizards of Waverly Place and Hannah Montana.
Darius Rucker has unveiled the performance lineup for this year’s Riverfront Revival Music Festival.
Returning for a second year, the two-day festival will take place on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8 at North Charleston, South Carolina’s Riverfront Park.
Artists set to perform include Darius, Lainey Wilson, Niko Moon, Megan Moroney, Elvie Shane, Carter Faith and Haley Mae Campbell.
A percentage of each ticket’s sales will be donated to the Arts in Healing program at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Presale tickets are available now starting at $170 for general admission and $525 for VIP. General sales will begin on Friday, March 24.
As previously reported, Roger Waters‘ concert in Frankfurt, Germany has been cancelled by the local government due to the rocker’s outspoken political beliefs, and now several of his fellow musicians are coming to his defense.
A Change.org petition has been created to try and get the government to reverse its decision on Waters’ tour stop, and it already has close to 12,000 of the 15,000 signatures requested, with artists like Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, Tom Morello and Waters’ Pink Floyd bandmate Nick Mason among those who’ve signed.
“We artists, musicians, writers, and other public figures and organizations are deeply disturbed by the recent efforts by German officials to discredit and silence musician Roger Waters,” reads the petition. “Officials in Germany, concert organizers, and music platforms must not succumb to the pressure of those individuals and groups who would rather see Waters’ music removed than engage with the issues his music highlights.”
Other artists who’ve signed the petition include actor Susan Sarandon, music producer Brian Eno, directors Ken Loach, Terry Gilliam and Julian Schnabel and more.
Waters is currently on his This Is Not a Drill tour, which is set to hit Barcelona, Spain on Wednesday. The concert in Frankfurt is scheduled for May 28.
(ORLANDO, Fla.) — House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday again ripped into the Manhattan district attorney when asked about the potential charges against Donald Trump at a news conference at the House GOP retreat in Orlando while seemingly growing frustrated with reporters after multiple questions about the former president who has continued to dominate the news cycle.
McCarthy was asked directly if had concerns specifically about Trump’s alleged conduct regarding a hush money payment to Stormy Daniels and quickly pivoted to talking about Hillary Clinton and did not answer the question — before instead targeting the Manhattan DA.
“What we see before us is a political game being played by a local … Look this isn’t New York City, this is just a Manhattan, this is just a borough DA. Okay,” McCarthy said.
McCarthy told ABC News when asked that he hasn’t spoken to Trump in three weeks and that he has not talked to him about his calls for House committees to investigate the Manhattan DA.
“I have not talked to the president, maybe three weeks? No, I have not talked to him about the investigation at all,” McCarthy said.
At times, McCarthy seemed to grow frustrated that, at the House issues retreat, he’s being asked repeatedly about Trump amid potential charges, blaming the press who he claims keeps bringing up the former president.
However, ahead of this weeks retreat McCarthy announced he would direct House committees to investigate the investigation into Trump, which helped fuel the news cycle heading into this week’s retreat.
“We’re not talking about this in our conference; you’re asking about it,” McCarthy said. When asked if Trump is still the leader of the Republican Party, McCarthy again took a jab at the press: “In the press room, for all of you, he is.”
McCarthy’s comments targeting the press come as other GOP members at the retreat have privately complained to ABC News about how the former president has once again dominated the coverage around this week’s retreat, which members had hoped to use to promote their legislative goals.
The Succession actor confirmed that he recently welcomed his first child with girlfriend Tuva Novotny while at the premiere for season 4 of the HBO series.
After being congratulated on his new bundle of joy, Skarsgård told Entertainment Tonight, “Thank you very much.”
The Big Little Lies actor also showed off the stuffed animal he received, presumably for the baby, telling the outlet, “I got this on the red carpet. Thank you, thank you.”
The confirmation comes months after Skarsgård, 46, and Novotny, 43, were spotted out in New York City in November with their baby.
Red Hot Chili Peppers are headed to Chicago this summer. The band has been confirmed to headline Lollapalooza 2023, taking place August 3-6 at Grant Park.

(DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va.) — Prosecutors released video on Tuesday of the March 6 chain of events that ended with the death of Irvo Otieno at Virginia’s Central State Hospital.
The video shows sheriff’s deputies and medical staff at the hospital carrying a handcuffed Otieno into a room and placing him on the floor. Otieno is forcibly held down for nearly 11 minutes until he stops moving, according to the video. The Washington Post published video of the encounter on Monday.
Cabell Baskervill, Dinwiddie County’s Commonwealth attorney, said the incident began in the Henrico County Jail, where Otieno was allegedly punched by officers in his side and torso. She alleged that Otieno was pepper-sprayed while he sat in his cell alone.
Otieno was later transported to Central State Hospital, a state-run inpatient psychiatric facility.
“State Police investigators were told he had become combative during the admission process” at Central State, Baskervill said.
She has pushed back against officers’ claims that Otieno was combative, saying video footage shows that Otieno “was not agitated and combative” but fidgety, stressed and anxious. Baskervill also alleged that seven Virginia sheriff’s deputies then held 28-year-old Otieno down for 12 minutes and suffocated him.
He died of asphyxiation by smothering, according to Baskervill, who described the incident as “cruel and a demonstration of power that is unlawful … it killed him.”
Baskervill said Otieno’s death was not reported for three-and-a-half hours and 911 was not alerted.
Between Otieno’s death and the call made to state police, Otieno’s body was moved, handcuffs were removed and washed and a funeral home had been called instead of the medical examiner’s office, the commonwealth’s attorney said in court.
At some point, an injection was given to Otieno by hospital staff. Baskervill asserted the injection was likely given after he had died of asphyxia.
Baskervill said none of the seven deputies “made truthful statements to the State Police either that night or yesterday upon arrest.”
Seven Henrico County Sheriff’s deputies and three Central State Hospital employees have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Additional charges and arrests are pending, according to the commonwealth’s attorney.
Footage from Central State and Henrico County Jail captured the incidents. ABC News has not viewed the video.
The Henrico County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an independent review of Otieno’s death alongside an investigation by Virginia State Police.
The FBI is now in touch with state and local investigators.
“FBI Richmond has been in contact with authorities investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Mr. Irvo Otieno. We have no further comments to share at this time,” read a statement shared with ABC News from an FBI spokesperson.
The seven arrested deputies were identified as Randy Joseph Boyer, 57; Dwayne Alan Bramble, 37; Jermaine Lavar Branch, 45; Bradley Thomas Disse, 43; Tabitha Renee Levere, 50; Brandon Edwards Rodgers, 48; and Kaiyell Dajour Sanders, 30.
Lawyers for Disse said that the officer was asked by a supervisor to drive to Central State Hospital because of issues officers were having with the inmate and because they were told he could not be controlled with just three officers.
In court, a lawyer for Branch alleged the officer “did not administer any blows to the deceased, or violence towards him, other than simply trying to restrain him.”
Branch’s lawyer, Cary Bowen, told ABC News by phone that Baskervill was trying to fashion the case as something that is “malicious.”
“There was no weapon used. There was no pummeling or anything like that. I think everybody agrees,” Bowen said. “And the way she was casting it was that they ended up suffocating. He couldn’t breathe. And she’s acting like the guy didn’t resist and he wasn’t manic or bipolar or whatever. Just a nice guy who they’re picking on.”
The seven deputies have been placed on administrative leave.
Henrico County Sheriff Alisa A. Gregory released a statement the week after Otieno’s death, extending her “deepest sympathies and condolences” to Otieno’s family and friends.
“The events of March 6, at their core, represent a tragedy because Mr. Otieno’s life was lost. This loss is felt by not only those close to him, but our entire community,” Gregory said in the statement.
Otieno’s family saw the footage before the video was set to be released to the public.
“My son was treated like a dog, worse than a dog. I saw it with my own eyes on the video,” said Otieno’s mother, Caroline Ouko, last week.
The Sheriff’s Department and local union Henrico Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 4 have yet to return ABC News’ request for comment.

Keke Palmer has taken on a lot of roles, but she says motherhood is by far her “greatest gig of all.” Taking to Instagram Monday, she shared photos of her posing against a New York City skyline with her stroller.
“Mommy’ing is coming along if you were looking for an update. I have juggled quite a few careers but this is my greatest gig of all,” she wrote. “Learning how to balance it all and looking forward to discovering this new person I am becoming.”
Keke acknowledged that she “will never be the same again” and suggested that motherhood may have made her better. “If you thought I was a bad mama jamma before, you can’t imagine the greater purpose my son has given my life!” she wrote. “It’s giving, SUPER SAIYAN.”
Keke and partner Darius Jackson announced that they’d welcomed their son on February 27. “Hey Son!!!! Only 48 hours of being parents!” she penned. “Born during Black History Month, with a name to match! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”
With her new job as a mom, Keke admits she now indulges in “mom stuff.”
“Loving the new world I get to indulge in now as a mom,” she wrote. “I have so many things bagged in my Amazon cart, haven’t quite pulled the place the order button, but it feels good just adding it to the cart. You know, fake shopping hahaha.”
Ed Sheeran‘s new album, – (Subtract), due out May 5, was born out of the worst month of his life, which he says was February 2022.
He told Rolling Stone that was the month he was defending himself in the “Shape of You” plagiarism case. Then his wife, Cherry Seaborn, was diagnosed with a tumor as she was six months pregnant with their second child. And then, his best friend Jamal Edwards died.
Ed vents his frustrations in Subtract, which he created with Aaron Dessner, who was behind Taylor Swift‘s folklore and evermore albums.
Ed appreciated Dessner’s song-making approach, which creates the melody first. “Then he goes, ‘Now you say what you want to say,'” Ed explained. “So there’s no filter. There wasn’t any going back and checking on any lyrics … it’s just complete brain-to-page.”
The two collaborated so well, says Ed, that they wound up making two albums. He says they pulled three tracks off Subtract because they were too upbeat, and those songs formed the foundation of a new, forthcoming project.
“It was very quickly seen that we were making two different things,” Ed recalled, saying Dessner is already mixing that other album. Although a release date for that has yet to be announced, the singer revealed, “I have no goals for the record … I just want to put it out.”
Ed foresees at least five more albums in his future, all of which will use symbols as their title. He also has an idea for his final album before he kicks the bucket.
“I want to slowly make this album that is quote-unquote ‘perfect’ for the rest of my life, adding songs here and there,” he revealed. “And just have it in my will that after I die, it comes out.”
