REO Speedwagon playing ‘Hi Infidelity’ in its entirety at Las Vegas shows

REO Speedwagon is set to play two very special shows in Las Vegas this fall. An Evening of Hi Infidelity … and More will see the band performing their classic album Hi Infidelity in its entirety, along with a set featuring other hit songs.

The shows are happening Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11, at the Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, with tickets set to go on sale Friday, April 7, at 10 a.m. local time.

“The Venetian is an intimate theater, and Hi Infidelity is an intimate album,” frontman Kevin Cronin shares. “We bared our souls in these songs, so it will be emotional for us to play the whole album for the first time and tell its story. Then we get to blow the lid off the joint with the hit-filled second set.”

Released in November 1980, Hi Infidelity peaked at number one on the Billboard Album chart, and featured the hit songs “Take It On The Run” and “Keep on Loving You.” It was the biggest selling album of 1981 and was certified 10-times platinum by the RIAA.

And REO Speedwagon has plenty of other shows on their schedule. Their next concert is happening April 12 in Albany, Georgia. A complete list of tour dates can be found at reospeedwagon.com.

Feist reflects on dropping off Arcade Fire tour: “I couldn’t continue”

Feist has opened up regarding her decision to leave Arcade Fire‘s European tour last year after frontman Win Butler was accused of sexual misconduct.

The allegations, which were made by four people in a Pitchfork report, surfaced just days before the tour was about to kick off in Dublin. Feist played the first two shows on the trek before deciding to leave, while Arcade Fire finished out the rest of the tour as scheduled.

“It took me until the second show where all of the practical discomfort of having to dismantle this crazy machine and fold it back up and lose what I had invested in being there [on tour],” Feist tells The Irish Times. “The whole thing was made so clear to me. I couldn’t continue.”

For those first shows, Feist announced that her merch sales would be donated to the Women’s Aid organization, though she felt that wasn’t enough.

“Even being like ‘Hey guys, look … .’ It was as if I was trying to excuse myself of my real responsibility,” she says.

Ultimately, Feist decided that leaving the tour was the only way forward.

“It was like, actually, no … ‘I can’t avoid my responsibility here,'” she says. “Not to mention every word that came out of my mouth, I was hearing through an ear that wasn’t my own. I was hearing how twisted and skewed … In the context they were in, the songs weren’t safe. And neither was I … It was deeply difficult.”

In responding to the allegations, Butler acknowledged having relations with the accusers, though he maintained every encounter was “mutual and always between consenting adults.” Butler was later accused of sexual misconduct by a fifth person.

Following the European tour, Arcade Fire went on with their U.S. tour, though opener Beck similarly dropped off the bill.

Burna Boy will make history as first Nigerian artist to headline a US stadium

Burna Boy is making U.S. history with his worldwide tour, Love, Damini. The star is the first Nigerian artist to headline a stadium in the U.S., thanks to his upcoming performance at NYC’s Citi Field on July 8.

General sale tickets will be available April 7 at 10 a.m. via Onaspaceship.com, with a Citi presale running from April 4 at 10 a.m. to April 6 at 10 p.m.

Burna was one of many artists on the lineup for 2023’s Dreamville Festival last weekend. He’s also slated to perform at Coachella, and headline Afro Nation Miami and the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show.

Summer Walker announces new EP ‘Clear 2: Soft Life’ during Dreamville performance

Summer Walker is releasing a sequel to her 2018 EP, Clear. The singer announced the news during her performance at 2023’s Dreamville Festival.

Clear 2: Soft Life will drop next month but is now available for preorder. A link to the preorder shows the project’s artwork, which features a throwback photo of a pregnant Summer in front of a large bouquet of flowers.

Summer has since given birth to twins with her ex-boyfriend, Larry. After her performance at the festival, she took to Dave & Busters with J. Cole, Wacka Flocka and more, and claimed on her Instagram Story that she “ain’t lost one game.”

Clear 2: Soft Life, dropping May 19, will serve as part two of Summer’s Clear EP. The four-track offering served as a prelude to Summer’s debut album, Over It, and included songs “Settling,” “Grave,” “Riot” and “Wasted.”

Marlon Wayans delivers “very emotional” comedy set after learning of death of father, Howell Wayans

There is an old saying “tragedy plus time equals comedy,” but Marlon Wayans had little time to mourn the passing of his father, Wayans family patriarch Howell, before he took the stage Friday night at Flappers comedy club in Burbank, California.

TMZ reports Marlon was between sets when he learned his father had died at 86.

Fans in attendance noted Marlon spoke of his mother’s 2020 passing during his set and acknowledged at the end of the second set that his father had died three hours before he took the stage. The site reports he was “very emotional” and received a standing ovation.

Marlon, about to appear in the drama Air, memorialized his father afterward on Instagram, captioning a photo, “Legend.”

In part, Wayans wrote, “Thank you Pop for being an example of a Man to all your boys. I pray all young black boys can grow up to be a Man like you. Baby boy loves you. And if ever I need you I know exactly where to find you… in my Bible that now sits by bed. Rest well. Kiss Ma for me. Tell her her babies miss her. I got two angels. I feel y’all lifting me already. If there’s a heaven i know you sitting in VIP sippin’ the best wine jesus can make…”

On This Day, April 3, 2015: Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Bob Burns dies

On This Day, April 3, 2015…

Bob Burns, the original drummer for Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, died in a car crash near his home in Cartersville, Georgia.

Burns helped to form Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1964 with Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Larry Junstrom, but left the group in 1974.

He is credited on recordings from the group’s first two albums, 1973’s (Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd) and 1974’s Second Helping. That includes such Lynyrd Skynyrd classics as “Free Bird,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Simple Man.”

In 1996, after years out of the public eye, he joined the band for a performance in conjunction with the film Freebird: The Movie. Then, in March of 2006 he returned to perform alongside the band at their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Lana Del Rey, Fall Out Boy debut in top 10 on ’Billboard’ 200

Lana Del Rey and Fall Out Boy‘s new albums have debuted in the top 10 of this week’s Billboard 200.

The “Summertime Sadness” artist’s Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd starts at #3 on the chart with a total of 115,000 equivalent album units, 87,000 of which were traditional album sales. The “Dance, Dance” outfit’s So Much (for) Stardust bows at #6 with 64,000 equivalent album units, 49,000 of which were traditional album sales.

Ocean Blvd is Del Rey’s eighth top-10 album — ninth if you count 2012’s Paradise EP — and Stardust is Fall Out Boy’s seventh.

Fall Out Boy is launching a U.S. tour in support of Stardust in June. The bill will feature artists including Bring Me the Horizon, Alkaline Trio, Royal & the Serpent and New Found Glory on select dates.

Del Rey has yet to announce a full U.S. Ocean Blvd tour, though she’s playing a number of festivals this year, including Lollapalooza and Outside Lands.

Fall Out Boy’s ‘Stardust’ debuts in top 10 on ’Billboard’ 200

Fall Out Boy‘s new album has debuted in the top 10 of this week’s Billboard 200.

The “Dance, Dance” outfit’s So Much (for) Stardust bows at #6 with 64,000 equivalent album units, 49,000 of which were traditional album sales.

Stardust is Fall Out Boy’s seventh top-10 album on the Billboard 200. They’ve hit #1 on the chart four times, with 2007’s Infinity on High, 2013’s Save Rock and Roll, 2015’s American Beauty/American Psycho and 2018’s M A N I A.

Shakira and her kids are moving to find “happiness”: “Today we begin a new chapter”

Shakira has spent the past nine years living in Barcelona, Spain, but now she and her two sons are pulling up roots and moving on, following the end of her 12-year relationship with their father, Gerard Piqué.

“I settled in Barcelona to give my children stability, which we are now looking for in another corner of the world next to family, friends and the sea,” Shakira wrote in Spanish on Instagram. “Today we start a new chapter in the pursuit of their happiness.” Shakira’s sons Sasha and Milan are 8 and 10 years old, respectively.

“Thanks to everyone who surfed so many waves with me there in Barcelona, the city where I learned that friendship is undoubtedly longer than love,” she continued. “Thanks to everyone who encouraged me there, dried my tears, inspired me and made me grow. Thanks to my Spanish audience, who have always sheltered me with their love and loyalty.”

Shakira and Gerard split 10 months ago. E! News reports that she’s going to relocate to Miami, where her mom’s family lives.

Last month, Shakira set 14 marks recognized by the Guinness World Records thanks to the success of her diss track “BZRP Music Session #53,” which she created with Argentine DJ Bizarrap. In the song, Shakira takes down Piqué and his alleged infidelity with Clara Chía, who he’s currently dating. She sings “Good luck with my so-called replacement … I’m worth two 22-year-olds.”

Tears For Fears announce dates for The Tipping Point Tour Part II

Tears For Fears is returning to North America this summer. The band has announced dates for The Tipping Point Tour Part II.

The trek, featuring special guest Cold War Kids, kicks off June 23 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, making stops in New York, Austin, Houston, Denver, Seattle and more, before wrapping August 2 in Los Angeles, California.

Presale tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 4, at 10 a.m. local time, with the general sale set for Friday, April 7, at 10 a.m. local time. A complete list of dates can be found at TearsForFears.com.

The tour is named after their most recent album, The Tipping Point, which Tears for Fears released in February 2022. It was their first album of new material in almost 18 years.
