The new Ben Affleck/Matt Damon movie, Air, hits theaters Friday, April 5, and it comes with a soundtrack packed with classic ’80s tunes. The album features songs from Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, The Clash, REO Speedwagon, Squeeze, The Alan Parsons Project, Cyndi Lauper, Big Country and more.
The film, which is directed by Affleck and also stars Viola Davis and Jason Bateman, tells the story of Nike’s partnership with a then-rookie NBA star Michael Jordan, which resulted in the hugely successful Air Jordan brand.
The soundtrack will be released digitally on Friday, with a CD version coming June 2. Those will be followed by a cassette release June 23 and a vinyl September 15. All are available for preorder now.

Because of the Easter holiday weekend, The Super Mario Bros. Movie jumps into theaters Wednesday. Inspired by the video game phenomenon, Chris Pratt voices Mario and Always Sunny‘s Charlie Day his brother Luigi, who team up to fight the minions of the evil Bowser (Jack Black).
Speaking of Easter, the movie is chock-full of Easter eggs for video game fans and features an all-star cast, including Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor-Joy playing Mario’s love, Princess Peach. Seth Rogen voices Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key voices Toad, and Fred Armisen is Cranky Kong.
Black tells ABC Audio he’s finally made it as an actor playing the King of the Koopas. “You know, a lot of actors, their dream is to play Hamlet because that’s the most iconic of all the characters you can play: Shakespeare‘s finest moment as a writer. A lot of actors are like, ‘Oh, I just really want to play Batman,’ you know? Bowser, to me, trumps them all.”
He adds, “It’s the greatest villain in video game history. I got to play Bowser, dude! I could just mic drop and call it a career. I might!” Jack enthuses before poo-pooing the other choices: “Hamlet. Batman. I’m Bowser, baby!”
Rogen had another goal in mind: to make fans forget 1993’s widely panned movie adaptation starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo.
Seth explained, “These games … were like a huge part of my childhood, you know? I remember when I was a kid how excited I was for a Mario Brothers movie to come out, and then it sucked. And so it’s nice — it’s exciting to potentially create the movie that I wish I saw when I was 11 years old and instead of got what I got.”

(WASHINGTON) — First lady Jill Biden will represent the United States next month in London at the coronation of King Charles III — and while President Joe Biden won’t attend, history shows that it’s not a snub of the new monarch.
Since the nation’s founding on independence from the U.K., no American president has ever attended one of their royal coronations.
Joe Biden did speak with King Charles on Tuesday, according to the White House, and congratulated him on the upcoming event while “underscoring the strength of the relationship between our countries and the friendship between our peoples.”
The president also told the king that he wanted to meet with him in the United Kingdom “at a future date,” the White House said.
Separately, the White House announced on Wednesday that Joe Biden will travel to Ireland next week to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.
The Bidens were last in London together for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September.
Charles is scheduled to be crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in the commonwealth’s first such ceremony in 70 years. A host of other world leaders and dignitaries are expected to attend.
For the late queen’s coronation in June 1953, President Dwight Eisenhower sent a White House delegation in his place.

There were an unspecified number of injuries and fatalities confirmed in Missouri’s Bollinger County after a tornado hit the Glenallen area, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At least nine other tornadoes had already been reported across Iowa and Illinois, including a “large and extremely dangerous tornado” that touched down near Canton, Illinois, on Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
On Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. The cities of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Detroit were included in the watch areas, where forecasters said conditions will be favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. People were warned to seek shelter.
As the storm continues to move east, severe weather is in the forecast for a vast area — from western Texas to western New York. Cities in the bull’s-eye for damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes on Wednesday include Memphis, Louisville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland, according to the latest forecast.

Tornado watch issued for Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for several regions under threat of severe storms on Wednesday.
Included in the advisory are central and southern Indiana, north-central Kentucky and southwest Ohio. The formation of tornadoes could be “likely” in cities like Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Louisville, according to the NWS.
The threats include “widespread” damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, the advisory states.
The tornado watch is in effect until 5 p.m. ET.

Multiple fatalities reported in Missouri’s Bollinger County
An unspecified number of injuries and fatalities have been confirmed in Missouri’s Bollinger County after a tornado hit the Glenallen area, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At least nine other tornadoes had already been reported across Iowa and Illinois, including a “large and extremely dangerous tornado” that touched down near Canton, Illinois, on Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced he will visit hard-hit Bollinger County.
Parson will “assess damage and learn what resources will be needed during recovery” in the rural county in the state’s southeast, he said in a tweet.
“We appreciate the work of our first responders and the many neighbors who reached out to help their neighbors, and our prayers are with the loved ones of those who were killed in the storms,” the governor said.

The National Weather Service confirmed at least 81 tornadoes touched down in 14 states on March 31 and April 1. It was the largest single tornado outbreak to hit the U.S. in a year, since the one that spawned 140 twisters in southeastern states — from Texas to Maryland — on April 12-13, 2020.
R.E.M. played their first-ever show at a friend’s birthday party at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Athens, Georgia, although at the time they were unnamed. The band – vocalist Michael Stipe, bassist Mike Mills, guitarist Peter Buck, and drummer Bill Berry – performed a set filled with originals, and covers of 1960s and 1970s tracks.

R.E.M. was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 in their first year of eligibility. They officially disbanded in September, 2011.
(SAN FRANCISCO) — Bob Lee, Cash App founder and current executive at cryptocurrency firm MobileCoin, has died, the company told ABC News. He was 43 years old.
A longtime tech executive, Lee was the first chief technology officer at Square, a digital payment company founded by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
“Bob was a dynamo, a force of nature,” Joshua Goldbard, the CEO of MobileCoin, told ABC News in a statement.
“He was made for the world that is being born right now, he was a child of dreams, and whatever he imagined, no matter how crazy, he made real,” Goldbard added.
During the 2000s, Lee worked at Google, where he helped develop Android.
Cash App and the San Francisco Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Lee is survived by his wife, Krista, and their two children.
“Bob’s real resume is the hearts and minds he touched in his time on earth,” Goldbarb said. “Bob’s legacy is the feeling that you can make a difference if you try, and of course his amazing children.”
Ahead of his debut as the voice of the titular wily plumber in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Chris Pratt got serious on The Drew Barrymore Show. He talked about finding faith and “the woman of his dreams,” wife Katherine Schwarzenegger.
“There was a moment in my life when I was really struggling and felt really broken,” said the Marvel movie star, who was separated from first wife Anna Faris in 2017, after eight years of marriage. They formally divorced in 2018.
“For me, my own journey, [it was] finding a higher power and leaning on that and being like, ‘Please save me,’ and then feeling saved,” he commented.
Pratt said he first met Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Arnold, “five, maybe six years ago,” in church.
“I was in the front row of church – which is like, you kind of don’t want to be like, ‘Woah, who’s that?’ at church,'” Pratt admitted. “But I was sneaking some glances and wondering, ‘Who is that?’ Anyway, ‘What am I doing? Come on, I’m broken, help me. But who’s that?'”
The pair hit it off, and “later on” began dating, he explained. They were married a year later, in 2019.
“God has a fast-forward button,” Pratt said. “When it’s right – boom! – you’re hit. You fall in love, you get married.” He added, “The minute you have faith, it all falls into place.”
He also likened finding Schwarzenegger to spotting a missing puzzle piece: “It just fits together…’Oh, it fits because it was the piece that was made to fit there.’ It felt like that.”
The couple now have two daughters, two-year-old Lyla Maria, and Eloise Christina, 10 months.
Pratt also has a 10-year-old son, Jack, from his marriage to Faris.

Mo’Nique is opening up about her Netflix special, My Name Is Mo’Nique.
The project is a concept that was conceived in 2017, but hit a few bumps in the road, including being dropped by the streamer and her filing a racial and gender discrimination lawsuit against them in 2019 claiming they were paying her less than other stars. The lawsuit was settled and now, over five years later, the special has been released on the platform.
“I think that things happen when they’re supposed to,” the comedian told Entertainment Tonight about the special that premiered on April 4.
Mo’Nique also shared how the content she would have originally put out changed, given that so much time has passed.
“Now, I’m a 55-year-old woman. I’ve seen more life [and] I’ve had more experiences. I’m even more unapologetic now than I was then,” she said. “So I think that with life comes experience comes wisdom comes knowledge comes freedom… I have nothing to hide. I wear everything on my sleeve so I have nothing to hide.”
“You know, sometimes people say, ‘Well, why did you say that?’ Because it’s mine. And because it’s mine, my experience, my journey, my walk, I can say it how I choose to,” she continued. “I can say it when I want to because it is mine. So April 4, baby, the world will hear. It’s mine to tell.”
Coming up, Mo’Nique’s also set to star in Netflix’s The Deliverance, directed by Lee Daniels, whom she feuded with for 13 years over accusations he blackballed her for not promoting the 2009 film Precious during awards season. They have since patched things up.
Bob Dylan and Iggy Pop are among the many headliners booked for the 57th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival, which runs from June 30 to July 15 on the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland.
Dylan is set to headline July 1, with his Rough and Rowdy Ways show, named after his 2020 album, while Iggy will headline July 6, with openers Generation Sex featuring Billy Idol, Steve Jones, Tony James, and Paul Cook.
