Rush’s Geddy Lee is finally ready to share his story. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s much anticipated memoir, My Effin’ Life, finally has a release date. A post on Rush’s Twitter account shared a picture of the book’s cover, along with the news that the book will be dropping November 14.

Geddy initially announced he was working on a memoir back in September 2021, and it was originally reported to be coming out in the fall of 2022. He shared the news of the book in an Instagram post, writing it was one of the things he did to pass the time during COVID-19 lockdowns. He also said writing it helped him deal with the January 2020 death of his Rush bandmate Neal Peart.

At the time he described the book as a “presentable, epic-length account of my life on and off the stage…my childhood, my family, the story of my parents’ survival, my travels and all sorts of nonsense I’ve spent too much time obsessing over.”

Trina is once again staking her claim as “da baddest b****,” this time as the latest musician to grace NPR’s Tiny Desk. The rapper performed a brief set list of her greatest hits, starting with “Mama,” which was dedicated to her late mother. Vernessa Taylor passed away in 2019 following a battle with cancer.

“This first song is dedicated to my mom,” Trina said before the performance. “Without her, there would be no me, and she’s the reason that I’m standing here right now for you guys. So I want you to just enjoy.”

“It’s a very personal song to me and if anybody has ever lost their mom or somebody special in their life, I dedicate this song to you,” Trina noted at the end of the track. She then took the desk with live renditions of “Da Baddest B****,” “Single Again,” “Here We Go” and “Nann N****.”

The King of Country Music, George Strait, will play two back-to-back nights in his home state of Texas this November.

The concerts will take place on Friday, November 17, and Saturday, November 18, at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Acclaimed singer/songwriter Caitlyn Smith will be the opening act for both days.

These dates arrive on the heels of George and Chris Stapleton‘s previously announced stadium date runs, which will include stops in Phoenix, Seattle, Denver, Milwaukee, Nashville and Tampa. Little Big Town will join them as special guests.

Tickets for George’s Fort Worth shows go on sale on Ticketmaster Friday, April 14, at 10 a.m. CT. Presale for American Express card members begins Tuesday, April 11, at 10 a.m. CT and will end on Thursday, April 13, at 10 p.m. CT.

Kelly Clarkson is offering fans another snippet of her upcoming album, Chemistry, which she promises will chart the entire arc of a relationship — “the good, the bad and the ugly.”

In the 30-second snippet, Kelly’s powerful a cappella vocals sing, “I don’t need somebody to hold me/ Don’t need somebody to love me/ Don’t need somebody to pick these pieces up/ I put together my broken/ Let go of the pain I’ve been holdin’/ Don’t need to need somebody/ When I got me.”

“Me” is the second snippet from Chemistry, following “Mine,” but now she’s given us a slightly longer clip of that one, which seems similar in theme to Gabby Barrett‘s hit “I Hope.” 

Kelly sings, “I hope someday someone will take your heart and hold it tight/ make you feel like you’re invincible deep inside/ and right when you think that it’s perfect, they cross a line/ steal your shine/ like you did mine.”

While we don’t know the release date of Chemistry, Kelly’s socials tell us that both “Me” and “Mine” will be out on April 14.

While Chemistry is being called Kelly’s “divorce album,” some fans are comparing its vibe to her third album, My December, which she has said was inspired by “the lowest point of my life and my career.”

boygenius‘ the record has debuted at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart.

The full-length debut from the trio — made up of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker — marks the first #1 album for each member, collectively or separately.

“First number one for any of us,” Bridgers says. “This is so cool. We made it for you.”

boygenius will play a show April 12 in Pomona, California, followed by sets at Coachella. They’ll then launch a full U.S. tour in support of the record in June.

The Ben Affleck-directed movie Air is now in theaters, and although it centers on the creation of the now-iconic sneaker that bears Michael Jordan‘s name, co-star and co-writer Matt Damon explains you needn’t be a sneakerhead or a basketball fan to get it.

“I really do think there’s something for everybody in this one,” explains the Oscar winner, who plays Sonny Vaccaro, the Nike exec who staked his career on signing then-rookie Jordan.

“It’s not a strictly sports movie,” Damon says. “You know, I think for the sports aficionados, they’ll love the kind of behind the scenes, behind the curtain type of stuff that’s in here. But…I think it surprised a lot of the people who weren’t expecting it…It sneaks up on you because…of the role that Viola [Davis] plays and how she kind of takes over the movie.” She portrays Jordan’s mother Deloris, who was integral to the Nike deal.

Marlon Wayans portrays George Raveling, a former basketball player and coach who was a key advisor to Vaccaro about approaching the Jordans.

Wayans says Air is a “feel-good” picture. “…[W]e all have dreams, we all have something that we want to do,” he says. “Everybody tells us we cannot do it. And just the fact that this man [Vaccaro] made that happen and look at the iconic thing that was spawned from that Michael Jordan signing with Nike to this shoe, to this brand, to this thing that changed pop culture. And, you know, in a huge way, I just think it’s a very powerful movie. And it started with something small, like a person with an idea and a gut feeling to make something happen.”

Celebrate National Beer Day with a cold one and Chris Janson‘s new song, “Tap That.”

Co-written by Chris, Brandon Kinney, Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, “Tap That” is all about unwinding and having a couple of beers anytime and anywhere. “I’d tap that/ Twist that cap/ Pop the top and/ Let it rock and throw it back ’til dawn/ It’s on long as it ain’t flat/ Hell I’d tap that,” Chris sings in the feel-good chorus.

“This is a hard-rockin’, party-driven, beer-drinkin’ song! I’ve always loved it, and I hope the fans enjoy it as much as I do. Crank it UP!” the singer says.

Chris has also shared a summery music video for “Tap That,” which was directed by his drummer, Josh Daubin.

Of the visualizer, Chris shares, “We had a fun time shooting this video. My drummer, Josh, filmed it while we were just hanging out with the band and family on the beach in the Cayman Islands. Everyone was happy and having a great time, and I think you can really feel that in this one.”

“Tap That” follows the release of Chris’ single “All I Need Is You,” which is currently climbing up the country charts.
