(WASHINGTON) — A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was charged with assault for allegedly pointing a gun at the heads of two motorists in Minneapolis in February, the Hennepin County Attorney’s office said Thursday.

According to the prosecutor’s complaint, Gregory Morgan Jr., an ICE agent in Minneapolis, was ending his shift on Feb. 5 and was a driving back to the Whipple Federal Building when a person allegedly cut him off as Morgan was trying to pass them, and the agent then allegedly brandished a firearm at them.

Morgan, of Temple Hills, Maryland, is charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and a warrant has been issued nationwide for his arrest. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarity said in a news conference Thursday that Morgan has not been taken into custody but hopes he’ll turn himself in.

The Department of Homeland Security has not responded to ABC News’ request for comment.

The incident occurred during a contentious period in Minneapolis when the city was the focal point of an immigration enforcement surge and after the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal law enforcement. During that time questions arose about whether ICE agents could be prosecuted by state or local authorities.

Moriarity said Thursday that Morgan was driving “illegally” on the shoulder, “appearing to bypass shoulder traffic.”

The complainant told police that they did not know the person driving the other car was an ICE agent until investigators told them, according to the prosecutor’s complaint.

“There were no markings on Defendant’s vehicle that would identify it as law enforcement and the vehicle was not displaying or using lights or sirens,” according to the complaint. “Defendant continued to travel on the shoulder but rather than continue to drive past the victims, he pulled alongside their vehicle, rolled down his window, and pointed a black handgun directly at Victim 1 and Victim 2. Victim 1 had a clear view of Defendant’s appearance, saw that Defendant was wearing a black t-shirt, saw that the gun was pointed directly at their heads, saw that the gun was a Glock or Sig Sauer handgun with what appeared to be a red-dot sight, and noted that Defendant 2 yelled something indiscernible.”

That is when they called police to report what had happened, the complaint said.

Investigators interviewed Morgan, his supervisor and his partner a day later.

According to the prosecutor’s complaint:

“[Morgan] stated that Victim 1 swerved over in front of him and cut him off. Defendant claimed that he feared for his safety and the safety of others so, in response, he pulled alongside Victim 1’s vehicle, rolled down his window, drew his firearm, and yelled ‘Police Stop.’ [Morgan] stated he was trying to get Victim 1 to ‘back up.’ Defendant acknowledged that his firearm was a Glock 19 with a laser light, which Defendant had holstered on his right hip at the time of the interview. Defendant stated that after he pulled the gun on Victim 1 and Victim 2 he got in front of their vehicle and drove to the Whipple Building.”

Investigators also said they received cellphone footage from the complainant and reviewed traffic camera footage from the road on which they were traveling.

Great balls of fire! Top Gun 3 is on the way.

During Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas on Thursday, it was revealed that a third film in the blockbuster franchise is coming, with Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer both returning.

CinemaCon shared the news in a post on X.

ABC News has reached out to Paramount Pictures and CinemaCon for comment.

Top Gun 3 will serve as a follow-up to the Joseph Kosinski-directed Top Gun: Maverick, which premiered in 2022.

Cruise, who starred in the 2022 film, reprised his role as Capt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from the 1986 film Top Gun. In that film, Maverick is sent to the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School, where he trains to refine his flying skills.

It starred Val Kilmer as Lt. Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, Anthony Edwards as Lt. j.g. Nick “Goose” Bradshaw, Tom Skerritt as Cmdr. Mike “Viper” Metcalf, Meg Ryan as Goose’s wife, Carole, and Kelly McGillis as Charlie Blackwood.

Top Gun: Maverick centered around Maverick confronting his past while training a group of younger Top Gun graduates, including the son of his late best friend, for a dangerous mission.

The 2022 film starred Cruise, Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly as bar owner Penny Benjamin, Miles Teller as Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Goose’s son), Glen Powell as Lt. Jake “Hangman” Seresin, Jon Hamm as Vice Adm. Beau “Cyclone” Simpson, Bashir Salahuddin as Chief Warrant Officer Bernie “Hondo” Coleman, Monica Barbaro as Lt. Natasha “Phoenix” Trace, Jay Ellis as Lt. Reuben “Payback” Fitch and more.

While Cruise was not onstage to help reveal the news about Top Gun 3, he made an appearance on April 14 at the Warner Bros. presentation to share a sneak peek of his upcoming film Digger, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

Grateful Dead has given their fans a new way to enjoy their music.

The band has partnered with nugs.net to launch Play Dead, the first official Grateful Dead streaming app, featuring newly transferred and mastered recordings from the band’s vault, all in high-resolution audio.

The available music includes CD-only releases, like all currently released Dave’s Picks, that are getting their streaming debut; new vault releases every Tuesday, curated by Dead archivist David Lemieux; and plenty of live recordings. In fact, the app’s launch features 422 unique live shows, including 20 previously unreleased concerts.

The app also features live recordings listed chronologically by performance date for the very first time.

According to Billboard, plans for the app have been in the works for over two decades, but it wasn’t exactly an easy feat.

“What we’re embarking on now is the largest tape transfer project in the history of rock and roll, as far as I know, at least for any single band,” nugs founder/CEO Brad Serling tells the mag. He notes that The Dead music being available on a variety of formats, like reel-to-reel, multitracks DATS and more, made the task more difficult.

“This is my life’s work,” Serling, a Deadhead, adds. “I was born to do this. So here we are — it’s finally happening.”

Play Dead is available now and will set fans back $100.

The world has watched Snoop Dogg evolve over the years, and now he’s bringing his life story to the big screen in a new biopic called Snoop.

Snoop announced at CinemaCon the film will be released next year. “After my brothers got to tell their story with Straight Outta Compton, now it’s my turn,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The rapper praised director Craig Brewer and promised the film would be rated R, adding, “So get your parents’ permission.”

“If we’re going to do a Snoop Dogg movie, I’ve got to get gangster with it,” he said.

“I wish I could give you more details,” he added. “We’ll be back at CinemaCon next year with a trailer.”

Snoop will see Jonathan Daviss portraying the rapper. Brian Grazer, who also worked on 8 Mile, will produce with Snoop under Death Row Productions.

Snoop previously described the biopic as an “evolution story” about his life, family and upbringing, saying it will show how he overcame challenges and learned from those who shaped him.

“A lot of people just see me for who I am now,” he told Extra. “They don’t know what I went through and what I had to do to get to this stage and the people that taught me the lessons that I learned and the reason why I am who I am.”

Snoop will begin filming this summer.

In other Snoop-related news, Lil Baby has joined the team for Snoop’s Dr. Bombay Ice Cream brand, which “remixes classic frozen treats with West Coast flavor full of clever music nods and hip hop easter eggs,” a release said, per People. Dr. Bombay’s first storefront will open April 26 at the Venice Boardwalk in LA.
