Kip Moore’s ‘Damn Love’ chronicles his “highs and lows”

Kip Moore‘s highly anticipated fifth studio album, Damn Love, is out now.

Co-produced by Kip and The Cadillac Three‘s Jaren Johnston, the 13-track record features a collaboration with Ashley McBryde (“One Heartbeat”) and the title track, which doubles as Kip’s new single.

“Jaren Johnston and I kicked off this album after writing ‘Peace & Love,’ which helped create a theme for the rest of the record,” shares Kip. “‘Damn Love’ comes from a combination of progression within myself and my career, and being emotionally raw, and the honesty that came along with some self-realization. This record shares all the highs and lows throughout my life, and I hope those who listen can feel that.”

Additionally, to celebrate Damn Love‘s release, Kip has dropped a music video for one of the album’s tracks, “Sometimes She Stays.” The clip completes the trilogy of videos that were led by “Damn Love” and “Kinda Bar.”

Kip is currently on his Damn Love World Tour with upcoming stops in Germany, the Netherlands and the U.K. The U.S. trek kicks off August 24 in Saginaw, Michigan.

The Doc Has Spoken: Christopher Lloyd talks 21 years of ‘Cyberchase’

The Hacker has returned — and Christopher Lloyd says it’s time to start cleaning up our act.

Cyberchase, the PBS Kids animated series that follows the adventures of Matt, Jackie and Inez and their battles with Lloyd’s Hacker in cyberspace, is back for its latest season, featuring new adventures and new messages when it comes to taking care of our planet.

“It’s a wonderful indoctrination,” Lloyd tells ABC Audio about the show’s mission to get kids onboard with things like sustainability, recycling and reducing our carbon footprint. “It’s necessary for where we are going to end up if we don’t make changes in the way we live to accommodate the warming of the planet and all that. We’re in big trouble coming up. I’m glad to be a part of the cause.”

He’s voiced the character since Cyberchase started in 2002; part of the show’s longevity, he says, is its ability to solve problems using something the bad guys never see coming: math. “Every time [Hacker’s] ambitions are foiled by a mathematical formula, they’re learning mathematics, the reasoning behind it,” he says. “I think that’s kinda unique.”

It’s something Doc Emmett Brown from the Back to the Future films constantly used when it came to solving time-travel paradoxes. And it’s a role never far away from Lloyd’s heart. Same goes for his BTTF co-star and close friend Michael J. Fox, whose public struggle with Parkinson’s disease is something Lloyd thinks we can all learn from in solving our own struggles. “He has such a spirit. And he thrives all the time, just being Michael without, ‘Oh, I can’t do this,'” Lloyd says. “He is not a defeated person. And it’s just wonderful to be around him.”

Tony Iommi hopes fans will embrace the Black Sabbath ballet

Rehearsals have begun for the upcoming Black Sabbath ballet, and guitarist Tony Iommi is still pretty shocked it’s happening.

“I wouldn’t have believed them really, to be honest,” he tells Birmingham World when asked if he ever imagined Black Sabbath’s music could be turned into a ballet. “I’m looking at our music differently now with this, because it is being interpreted in a different way.”

He adds, “I never thought for a minute, we would have people dancing to Black Sabbath and ‘War Pigs’ and ‘Iron Man.’ But here we are, you know.”

While the music is being interpreted for ballet, Iommi says it hasn’t changed so much that fans can’t recognize the tunes, noting he’s “very happy” with how things are going.

As for whether he thinks heavy metal fans will embrace ballet after this, he says, “I certainly hope so. I mean, it is a strange combination, but you’ve got to push the boat out.”

The Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Black Sabbath – The Ballet is set to run from September 23 to September 30 at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Theatre Weekly reports that it will then move to London’s Sadler’s Wells from October 18 to 21, with tickets going on sale May 22.

Happy National Superhero Day

In case you’re not one of those suffering from so-called superhero fatigue, April 28 has been designated National Superhero Day.

So, why not spend the day either saving the world from some extraterrestrial menace or, more realistically, bingeing some superhero movies?

To that end, Rotten Tomatoes has ranked the Best Superhero Movies of All Time, based not on box office success — though many of them were blockbusters — but their scores from the ratings aggregator. Here’s a look at the list’s first six entries and where you can stream them.

97% – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018 – Prime Video): This Oscar-winning Sony Animation film saw several Spider-people before No Way Home brought the multiverse concept to the big screen.

97% – The Incredibles (2004 – Disney+): Another Oscar winner, from Simpsons and Mission: Impossible franchise veteran Brad Bird.

96% – Black Panther (2018 – Disney+): The Oscar-winning first stand-alone adventure of the late, great Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the vibranium-clad king of Wakanda.

94% – Avengers: Endgame (2019 – Disney+): Joe and Anthony Russo‘s final Marvel movie to date capped off the Infinity Stones saga and became the second-highest-grossing film of all time.

94% – Logan (2017 – Disney+): This Oscar-nominated film was supposed to be Hugh Jackman‘s last turn as the fan-favorite Wolverine, until he was lured back into his razor claws and into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by pal Ryan Reynolds for Deadpool 3.

Diddy to receive Icon Award at the Apollo Theater’s Spring Benefit

Diddy will be honored at the Apollo Theater’s Spring Benefit this year. He’ll be one of four recognized individuals, including the theater’s president and CEO, Jonelle Procope, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and industry leader Warby Parker.

Diddy will be presented with the Icon Award at the benefit, the theater’s largest annual fundraising event, per The Source. Procope will be honored as her 20-year tenure comes to an end, the former NBA star will receive this year’s Impact Award and Parker will be honored with the Corporate Award.

The Spring Benefit, which celebrates the Apollo’s rich history and future as a mission-led arts and cultural organization, goes down June 12 at 7 p.m. ET.

In honor of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, DJ D-Nice will take the 1s and 2s; MC Lyte and Wyclef Jean will also make an appearance.

Latto admits to having plastic surgery, advises women to “find peace within your natural state”

Latto has confirmed speculation that she had plastic surgery, but it’s not a route she thinks every woman should take. In a recent episode of her 777 Radio show, she shared some advice on getting work done on your body while responding to her sister Brooklyn Nikole‘s compliment that she looks good following a recent procedure.

“Because a b**** be looking natural,” Latto said. “Because this one thing about it, if you going to do it, do it right. I’m going to do it right. I did it right. For a girl who have little tweaky tweaks, I be on your case about not touching nothing.”

“I’m telling you. I’m telling you to all the young girls listening, all the women listening right now,” she continued. “I’m telling you from someone who’s been there, done it, find peace within your natural state. Because you’re going to find a flaw and another flaw and another flaw and another flaw. Surgery, any of that stuff, is not a permanent fix.”

Latto said she’s an “advocate for women in general” and supports whatever it is they want to do, but wants to “make sure that’s what you comfortable with.”

“I just think surgery is so popular now,” she said to her sister. “Don’t be so gullible for the social media traps and whatever, because you never going to be good enough for the outsider’s eye.”

Smokey Robinson details affair with Diana Ross during first marriage

Smokey Robinson is opening up about his infidelities during his first marriage, which included a year-long affair with Diana Ross.

Smokey who was married to his first wife, Claudette Rogers made the admission in an interview with The Guardian published Thursday, April 27.

“I was married at the time. We were working together and it just happened,” Robinson, 83, told the outlet. “But it was beautiful. She’s a beautiful lady, and I love her right till today. She’s one of my closest people.”

The “Tears of A Clown” singer said he was “trying to help” Ross with her career when “it just happened.”

“I wasn’t going after her and she wasn’t going after me. It just happened,” he shared.

According to Robinson, Ross ultimately ended the tryst out of guilt.

“After we’d been seeing each other for a while, Diana said to me she couldn’t do that because she knew Claudette, and she knew I still loved my wife,” he said. “And I did. I loved my wife very much.”

Robinson also shared that his relationship with Ross, 79, helped him understand love.

“I learned that we are capable of loving more than one person at the same time. And it has been made taboo by us. By people,” he explained. “It’s not because one person isn’t worthy or they don’t live up to what you expect — it has to do with feelings. If we could control love, nobody would love anybody. Nobody would take that chance. Why would you put your heart out there for somebody to be able to hurt you like that and make you able to have those feelings?”

Robinson was married to Rogers from 1959 until 1986. He wed his second wife, Frances Glandney, in 2002.

The Gang Returns June 7: FXX releases tease of 16th season of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’

The gang from Paddy’s is back. FXX has released a celebratory snippet to announce that its long-running sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is coming back for its 16th season on June 7.

Co-creators Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton — as well as McElhenney’s wife, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito — are shown celebrating throughout the clip, with Day’s Charlie asking at the outset, “You wanna start some kinda cheer or something?”

What follows are a series of quick clips of the upcoming season, including Olson’s Dee getting choked off her feet, Charlie victoriously brandishing a sword atop a pile of junk, the boys in a wrestling ring wearing eagle costumes and lots of screaming.

It also ends with everybody at Paddy’s Bar laughing at Dee’s expense, in an apparent gag called “The Joke’s On You.”

The series also streams on Hulu.

Post Malone addresses weight loss, says he’s “never felt healthier”

Post Malone is setting the record straight on his recent weight loss.

In an Instagram post Friday, the rapper wrote, “i wanted to say that i’m not doing drugs, i’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and i’d suppose, performance on stage. i’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier.”

He went on to say that becoming a dad is what kick-started his healthier lifestyle, and he’s cut out soda and started eating better. Post adds he’s looking to cut “smokes and brews” next.

Post concludes his message by telling fans he’s been working on new music and that he’s the happiest he’s been in a long time.

“If you’re having a hard time or need some love, i can say that you’re loved more than you know, and keep f****** crushing it,” he writes. “goodnight nerds. spread love and rock on.”
