Shy Carter has enlisted Caitlyn Smith for a spellbinding duet, “How Did You Sleep.” Written by Carter, Smith and Bryan Simpson, the soaring breakup tune finds both singers coming to terms with their exes’ decisions to move on, while still reeling from the hurt.
Carter Faith has released her debut track of the year, “Wild.” Of her new love song, Carter shares, “It’s a fun, upbeat, and groovy as hell song that just makes me want to go for a long drive or out dancing.”
Canaan Smith has tapped Emily Weisband for his new song “Diamond on the Dresser.” The haunting ballad was written by Canaan and James McNair.
Papa Roach‘s “Cut the Line” has cut in front of every other song on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
The track has climbed to the #1 spot on the ranking, giving Jacoby Shaddix and company their ninth Mainstream Rock Airplay leader, and the third off the “Last Resort” outfit’s 2022 album, Ego Trip, following “Kill the Noise” and “No Apologies.”
“Cut the Line” also ends the reign of Linkin Park’s “Lost,” which had ruled Mainstream Rock Airplay for the last eight weeks. “Lost,” which features lead vocals by the late Chester Bennington, is a song originally from the Meteora sessions that was unearthed for the recent 20th anniversary reissue of the 2003 album.
Next weekend, Papa Roach will play the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas. In the fall, they’ll hit the road on a U.S. tour with Shinedown.
Drivers in Minnesota will soon be able to ride down a highway named after the legendary Prince.
According to The Associated Press, Minnesota lawmakers voted Thursday to rename a portion State Highway 5 after the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, who passed away in 2016. The purple-sign-lined Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway, near the late singer’s Paisley Park museum and studios, will run for 7 miles through Chanhassen and Eden Prairie.
Last month the Minnesota House passed the bill unanimously, while the Senate just voted 55-5 in favor of the change. The next step is for Gov. Tim Walz to sign the bill.
“Prince was a true genius, a visionary artist who pushed the boundaries of music and cultures in ways that will never be forgotten,” Republican Sen. Julia Coleman, the lead sponsor of the bill, said. “His influence can be heard in the work of countless musicians who came after him, and his legacy continues to inspire new generations of artists to this day.”
Prince’s Paisley Park is now open for fans to tour. It recently announced it will hold its four-day Celebration 2023 from June 8-11, during which fans will get to hear new, unreleased recordings by the late music icon. Tickets to the celebration are on sale now.
Def Leppard’s new album, Drastic Symphonies, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, comes out May 19, and they’ve just given fans another taste of what to expect. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers dropped the official visualizer for the new take on the 1987 classic “Hysteria.”
Def Leppard is one of the few bands from the ’80s that is still making records and having hits today, with many rock bands of that period not surviving the ’90s grunge era of bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment,Joe Elliott insists he had “no issues with (Nirvana’s) Kurt Cobain trying to kill the ‘80s,” adding, “I don’t think he tried to kill Def Leppard; I think he tried to kill 99 copyists.”
“I think he’d have been fine with it if we’d have been the only ones out there,” he adds. “But it was saturated.”
Def Leppard survived by taking risks, like their latest album, and those risks brought the band to the place Elliott always wanted them to be – on top.
“We always had ambitions … saying, ‘We are gonna be the biggest band in the world,’” he explains. “I didn’t see the point, with all due respect, of being a band that once got to No. 42 on the Billboard charts. That wasn’t an ambition that resonated with me.”
He adds, “If that’s all we ever got, fair enough, but you don’t stand at the bottom of Mount Everest saying, ‘Oh, I just want to get a hundred yards up.’ You want to get to the summit.”

You’ve gotta hand it to the One Direction boys: They’ve got their stories straight as far as any reunion talk goes.
When Harry Styles was on The Late Late Show with James Cordenlast week, he was asked whether the group would ever reunite, and his response was, “Never say never.” During an interview with ET Canada,Niall Horan was told about his former bandmate’s comment.
“I agree with Harry. Same thing as he said,” The Voice coach replied. He revealed that he gets asked about a 1D reunion “every day,” but was quick to note, “I don’t know anything about it. There hasn’t been a conversation. And I’m sure if there ever is one, you’ll know about it. That’s kind of the answer every time.”
ET Canada also asked Niall who he’d like to portray him in an inevitable 1D movie biopic. He said that if it was made today, he’d like Allen Leech, best known for playing Tom Branson on Downton Abbey, to take on the role because there’s a strong resemblance.
Niall said, “I met him in a coffee shop in LA one time and we were just doing the whole, ‘We look like each other!’ That was actually crazy. I’m usually one of those people to say, ‘I don’t look like him!’ [But] yeah, we actually do look like each other.”
“And we’re both Irish, too. He won’t have to change his accent,” added Niall, joking, “Him or DiCaprio.”
Michael Bolton doesn’t take himself too seriously, which is evidenced by the times he’s popped up unexpectedly in movies or TV shows. He’s got another appearance coming up, and hopefully it’ll be as funny as his past cameos.
Michael will appear on the Comedy Central sitcom Nora from Queens, starring Awkwafina, Bowen Yang and BD Wong, on May 10 at 10:30 p.m. ET. Since Michael is definitely not from Queens — he’s from Connecticut — it’s not clear what part he’ll be playing.
Meanwhile, Michael has released a new song just in time for Mother’s Day called “Whatever She Wants.” In a statement, Michael says, “‘Whatever She Wants’ was written for the important women in our lives. It only takes a moment to say ‘You deserve so much more from me, so I’m going to recommit myself and express my love and appreciation for you.’”

Justin Moore‘s seventh studio record, Stray Dog, is out.
The eight-track project was recorded at the famed Castle Recording Studios in Franklin, Tennessee, and features Justin as a co-writer on every song.
“A long time ago I decided I wasn’t going to play games or pursue things that didn’t make me happy, perhaps that’s made me a bit of an outsider in this industry, but it’s also what allows me to go to bed each night feeling good about what I’m doing,” Justin writes on Instagram.
“I’ve never just gone along with the crowd,” he continues. “I’ve always tried to follow my heart and let the chips fall where they may, and I’m really proud of that.”
Justin celebrated this milestone on Thursday, May 4, with a sold-out album release show at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon. Priscilla Block and Riley Green also joined him as surprise guests.

Will.i.am is the new “global artist in residence” for Formula 1 racing. As part of his role, he’s released a new single called “THE FORMULA,” featuring Lil Wayne. It’s the first in a series of upcoming F-1-inspired tracks that will culminate in a solo album set for release in the fall. “It’s a thrill to merge my passions – high-performance auto racing and music – in this pioneering alliance,” will.i.am says in a statement. “Our goal is to shatter traditional boundaries by fusing music and racing, creating unforgettable experiences that introduce new fans to the excitement of F1 and showcasing the world’s finest artists and performers.”
Toosii has enlisted Khalid for “Favorite Song (Remix).” Toosii says he’s “been wanting to collab with [Khalid] on the right track for a while, and I think we picked the perfect one.”
Celine Dion‘s new movie, Love Again, is out today, featuring her new song, “I’ll Be.” The lyric video for the track features scenes from the movie, as well as photos of fans holding signs with messages for Celine about how much she means to them. The Love Again soundtrack, including a total of five new Celine songs, will officially be released May 12.
The official music video for David Guetta‘s track “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” with Coi Leray and Anne-Marie, is out now. In the clip, the three enjoy a wild night out at an underground club.
We’ve already seen how some cities are rolling out the red carpet for Taylor Swift — everything from naming a street after to her to giving her the key to the city to appointing her honorary mayor. At least two cities are dedicating museum exhibits to her. But for the average Swiftie, paying homage to your queen may be as easy as buying a latte or grabbing brunch.
Both Nashville, where Taylor is playing starting Friday night, and Chicago, where she’s performing next month, are dedicating brunches to the singer. Nashville’s 5 Points Diner & Bar is throwing a Taylor Swift Video Brunch on May 6, where fans can eat, drink $30 bottomless mimosas and watch videos from throughout her career.
According to Wilson County Source, Nashville’s Twelve Thirty Club — owned by Justin Timberlake — is doing a Taylor Swift DJ brunch on May 7 with a Taylor cut-out for photo ops, a balloon installation and, of course, nothing but T. Swift songs.
A Nashville Taylor Swift Scavenger Hunt and Bar Crawl steps off May 6 at 5 p.m., and even a local bagel shop is offering Taylor-themed coffee drinks and eats, with names like Back to December, Welcome to New York and Lavender Haze.
Meanwhile, in the Windy City, Chicago’s Ina Mae Tavern & Packaged Goods restaurant and bar has a Taylor Swift drag brunch scheduled, featuring a Taylor-themed cocktail menu and local drag queens.
But some Chicago places are gonna hate, hate, hate on Tay-Tay. According to Block Club Chicago, one cocktail bar in Chinatown features a signreading, “Shake It Off: No Taylor Swift Music Allowed Here.”
