Khloé Kardashian shuts down Tristan Thompson reunion speculation

Khloé Kardashian is setting the record straight and standing up against false narratives.

On Wednesday, the Good American founder responded to speculation about her rekindling her relationship with ex Tristan Thompson in the comments section of a fan page that posted the allegation.

“Stop pushing this narrative. It’s tiring,” she wrote in a lengthy response to a screenshot of a blind item that theorized why her sister Kim Kardashian appeared to be supporting Tristan by attending a Lakers game.

Khloé acknowledged that regardless of her statement, some will continue to fuel the false stories and emphasized that people often believe what aligns with their perceptions and what they want to believe, despite the truth.

“Some things are just as simple as they seem. A family member supporting another family member ESPECIALLY during a difficult time in life,” she explained, before drawing a parallel to her ongoing support for her sister Kourtney Kardashian‘s ex, Scott Disick.

“Example….. just how I support scott and will forever support him. He’s my brother. It’s just not on an nba stage,” the Kardashians star said. “Sad new world, If there’s no photos people think it really didn’t happen but yes, I see Scott often. Some things really are just as they are.”

Khloé, who shares 5-year-old daughter True and a 9-month-old son with Thompson, concluded with a red heart emoji.

Fans informed of obstructed views for U2’s Las Vegas residency at The Sphere

Getting tickets to U2’s upcoming residency in Las Vegas hasn’t been easy, and now some folks who were lucky enough to snag tickets are dealing with a bit of disappointment.

According to the Las Vegas-Review Journal, some fans who recently purchased tickets to U2: UV Achtung Baby at The Sphere have been informed that their seats have an obstructed view of the video screens in the state-of-the-art arena. Tickets affected are mostly in the lower level, 100 section, with the views partially obstructed by the overhang of the higher level seats. It is important to note the seats still have a direct view of the actual band.

The problem, which was reportedly discovered by venue officials ahead of the sale, affects about 800 seats per show, and fans with those tickets have been given the option of getting a refund or switching to different seats in a new section — but they’ll have to switch to a different date.

U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere at The Venetian is set to kick off September 29 and will consist of 25 shows wrapping December 16. A complete list of dates can be found at U2.com.

New dinosaur, a species of spinosaurid, discovered in Spain, researchers say

(NEW YORK) — Fossil fragments found in Spain are pointing to a new species of dinosaur, researchers said.

Scientists have proposed a new species of spinosaurid after studying the specimen, which includes a right jaw bone, one tooth and five vertebrate, found in the Arcillas de Morella Formation in Castellon, Spain, in 2011, according to a study published in Scientific Reports on Thursday.

Spinosaurids are often characterized by their large bodies, which stand on two feet. The group of dinosaurs, which include the Spinosaurus and Baryonyx, are also typically carnivorous.

The fossils date to the late Barremian or Early Cretaceous period — between 127 million and 126 million years ago, the authors said. Based on the remains, the researchers believe the dinosaur was between 10 meters to 11 meters long, or about 32 feet to 36 feet.

After comparing the specimen to other spinosaurids, the researchers determined it as both a new species and a new genus of spinosaurid, naming it Protathlitis cinctorrensis, with Protathlitis meaning “champion” in Greek and “cinctorrensis” in honor of the town, Cinctorres, in which the fossils were uncovered, according to the study.

The name “Champion” was in reference to the UEFA Europa League title won by European soccer club Villarreal C.F. in 2021 and to celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary in 2023, lead researcher Jose Santos‑Cubedo told ABC News.

Protathlitis cinctorrensis also has an elongated snout fitted with numerous conical teeth and used their hands to capture prey, Santos‑Cubedo said.

The finding suggests the Iberian peninsula may have been a diverse area for medium to large-bodied spinosaurid dinosaurs, shedding further light on the origin and evolution of the type of dinosaur.

It is believed that spinosaurids may have originated in Europe and then migrated from Africa to Asia, according to the paper. Evidence of their existence in Spain is mostly based on fossilized tooth remains.

The researchers believe this new species may indicate that spinosaurids appeared during the Early Cretaceous period in Laurasia — a large area of land in the northern European hemisphere — with two sub-groups of species occupying western Europe, according to the paper.

The spinosaurids may have later migrated to Africa and Asia, where they diversified.

“In Europe, baryonychines were dominant, while in Africa, spinosaurines were the most abundant,” Santos‑Cubedo said.

Iron Maiden announces Anthrax collaboration for ‘Legacy of the Beast’ game

Anthrax is the latest band to collaborate with Iron Maiden‘s Legacy of the Beast mobile game.

Legacy of the Beast now includes a new level inspired by the “Madhouse” outfit’s music, which allows you to play as their Not Man mascot alongside Maiden’s Eddie character.

“Just the idea that our character is in a game with Eddie, and they get to fight alongside each other, [it’s] kinda mind-blowing for me,” says Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. “It’s kinda hard for me to put into words.”

To play as Not Man, you’ll need to log in to Legacy of the Beast any seven days between now and June 16.

Legacy of the Beast has previously featured levels inspired by Avenged Sevenfold, Motörhead, Ghost, Five Finger Death Punch and Disturbed.

Garth takes ‘GMA’ behind his 2023 Las Vegas residency

Garth Brooks appeared on Good Morning America on Thursday, May 18, for a one-on-one interview with ABC’s Will Reeve.

Chatting with Will from Las Vegas, Garth shared what fans can expect from his 2023 Garth Brooks/Plus ONE residency, which kicks off May 18.

“I’m hoping they get something here that they can’t get anywhere else,” said the country icon. “I think it’s a laboratory. Because no-phone policy, no-video policy, which makes me go, ‘Here’s a song I was working on today.'”

“When somebody buys a ticket and receives something that money can’t buy, that’s hopefully you’ve done what I think you’re down here to do,” Garth added later in the conversation.

While Garth’s 2023 Vegas residency is all sold out, fans can now register to get tickets for the just-announced 2024 Garth Brooks/Plus ONE residency, which go on sale May 31. More information is available on Ticketmaster.

Apple TV+ releases teaser for Scorsese’s star-studded ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’

On Thursday, Apple TV+ dropped the intense first teaser for Killers of the Flower Moon, the drama from Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese starring Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Brendan Fraser.

Based on David Grann‘s bestselling book of the same name, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the real-life serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a murder spree known locally as the Reign of Terror.

When oil was discovered on Osage land, its Native American residents became globally wealthy overnight. That didn’t sit well with the white folks living there, leading to betrayal, corruption and murder.

The teaser features only DiCaprio’s Ernest Burkhart reading from a book on the Osage and how they faced persecution on their own land by settlers.

“Greed is an animal that hungers for blood,” a title card reads, as the intensity ratchets up.

As he reads, we see flashes of the other characters, all coming together for one group shot at the teaser’s climax. “Can you find the wolves in this picture?” DiCaprio repeats, making an obvious connection.

The movie debuts in limited release from Paramount Pictures on October 6; wide release comes October 20. It comes to Apple TV+ after it goes wide.

Adam Lambert curates new nail polish collection for Pride

The High Drama x PRIDE collection features colors including an apple green; a black and silver glitter; gold, plum, and silver metallics; and a custom navy duo chrome shimmer Adam personally created in the lab. Each color and shade name was inspired by his album High Drama.

Bishop Briggs wins ’The Masked Singer’

The Masked Singer made a surprising pivot to the world of alternative music when the show unmasked Bishop Briggs as its season 9 winner.

The “River” artist had been competing as the “Medusa” character, and sang songs including My Chemical Romance‘s “Welcome to the Black Parade,” Hozier‘s “Take Me to Church” and Fall Out Boy‘s “Centuries.”

“Oh my gosh, this is the craziest, coolest thing ever!” Briggs said upon her victory. “Thank you so much!”

Briggs’ competition included American Idol contestant David Archuleta, who came in second, as well as Twisted Sister‘s Dee Snider, hip-hop icon Grandmaster Flash, Sabrina the Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart and legendary entertainer Dick Van Dyke.

You can see Briggs perform live, presumably without her Medusa costume, on her upcoming tour with MisterWives, kicking off in September.

On This Day, May 18, 1978: ‘The Buddy Holly Story’ is released in U.S. theaters

The life of future Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Buddy Holly hit the big screen when The Buddy Holly Story opened in theaters in the U.S., including a special premiere in Holly’s hometown of Lubbock, Texas.

The film starred a 33-year-old Gary Busey as Holly, a role that earned him an Oscar nomination.

The movie followed Holly’s story from age 20 until his death in a plane crash at age 22. Also on the plane were Holly’s tour mates, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens, all of whom also perished.

The film, which had a budget of $1.2 million, opened to mostly good reviews and wound up earning $14.3 million in the box office.

While Busey lost the Oscar for Best Leading Actor, the film took home the Academy Award for Best Adaption Score.

Supreme Court shields Twitter, social media giants from liability for terror content

(WASHINGTON) — The Supreme Court on Thursday sided with social media giants in a case brought by families of victims in a terrorist attack in Turkey.

The court unanimously ruled that Twitter and other platforms won’t have to face accusations they aided and abetted the Islamic State by failing to remove or block content promoted by the terror group.

“Plaintiffs accordingly seek to hold Facebook, Twitter, and Google liable for the terrorist attack that allegedly injured them. We conclude, however, that plaintiffs’ allegations are insufficient to establish that these defendants aided and abetted ISIS in carrying out the relevant attack,” Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in the opinion.

“To be sure, it might be that bad actors like ISIS are able to use platforms like defendants’ for illegal — and sometimes terrible — ends. But the same could be said of cell phones, email, or the internet generally,” Thomas continued.

In a related case, the Supreme Court declined to weigh in on a landmark federal law that grants sweeping legal immunity to internet companies.

At the center of Gonzalez v. Google is Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The law protects companies for content posted by individual users, even if that content is discriminatory, defamatory or dangerous.

The act had been challenged by the family of the sole American victim of the 2015 Paris terror attacks.

The Supreme Court said Thursday it was sending the case back to a lower court of reconsideration in light of existing case law and its new ruling in the Twitter case.
