Keith Urban is guest mentoring and performing his uplifting song “Wild Hearts” on the upcoming American Idol season 21 finale.
This marks the first time Keith is returning to the show as a guest mentor, after serving as a judge for seasons 12 to 15 of the competition show.
“To be able to come in as a mentor, and play as well, is incredible,” Keith tells People. “That was home for me for several seasons, and the mentoring part is probably one of the things I always enjoyed the most, getting to work with the artist one-on-one.”
Besides Keith, country music fans can also look forward to performances from Jelly Roll and reigning ACM Female Artist of the Year, Lainey Wilson.
The 2023 American Idol finale airs Sunday, May 21, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
It appears it may be time to close the book on the Machine Gun Kelly/Corey Taylor feud.
The war of words between the “Bloody Valentine” rocker and the Slipknot frontman went public in 2021, when MGK dissed the masked metallers as “old weird dudes” during his set at Chicago’s Riot Fest. The seemingly unprovoked remark was later revealed to have stemmed from a failed collaboration between Kelly and Taylor, as well as comments Taylor made on a podcast about an unnamed artist who “failed in one genre and decided to go rock.”
Things went up a notch during rock festivals that Kelly later played, during which Slipknot fans booed him.
In his 2022 documentary Life in Pink, Kelly expressed regret over what happened with Taylor, saying that he “could’ve handled it differently.”
Speaking withThe Allison Hagendorf Show, Taylor shares that he heard Kelly’s comments and is similarly ready to put the feud behind them.
“He and I are very similar in certain ways,” Taylor says. “Shock and awe, big mouth singers, we are big mouth singers … I know from my past mistakes that sometimes the words get out and I wish I could grab ’em.”
While acknowledging that he and Kelly “will probably never be friends,” Taylor says, “I’m sure we can both respect each other for what we do and what we’ve done, and just move on.”
“It never needs to keep going,” Taylor says. “Once you’ve said your piece, that’s it. A lot of times it’s the fans that carry it on, especially in this day and age with social media and everything.”
“It happened, it was a moment, and I’ve made my peace with it,” the Knot singer continues. “I’m assuming he did, as well, and there’s that.”
Not every band that came up in the ’80s can brag that they’re still filling stadiums, but Def Leppard can: The U.K./European leg of their Stadium tour with Mötley Crüe starts on Monday. Guitarist Phil Collen says they’re still touring at this level because of some inspiration from KISS —and Beyoncé.
“Rolling with the punches and moving with the times … you have to go with it, you have to roll with it,” Collen tells Music Radar. He explains, “We keep raising the bar with our vocals and playing, and the way that we present the show. And I think you have to do that.”
“We learned something when we went out with KISS; the show is more important than anything, and you take the ego out and the crews work together and everything is the show,” Collen notes.
“Beyoncé just did a thing a few months ago in Dubai and it was so over-the-top. And that’s what you’re competing with … so you keep having to raise the bar, and you keep having to get better.”
“The minute you go out there and you’re not really into doing it, you’re turning your back on the audience,” he adds. “So I think there’s a constant thing of striving to be better, especially with the show.”
And Collen says Beyoncé isn’t the only pop star other rock artists can learn a lesson from: Ed Sheeran‘s another. Collen says he was “very impressed” that when Sheeran was first starting out, he’d play multiple shows a day in different venues.
As Collen notes, “If you can’t do that then you ain’t got a chance. … Whether you like him or not, that’s the role model.”
Actress Tori Spelling is sharing a warning with other parents and asking for help after mold problems caused her family to experience a “spiral of sickness.”
Spelling, who shares five children with her husband, Dean McDermott, took to Instagram this week to ask for help finding a “mold lawyer” in California, where the family lives.
“Our troubles are next level with our mold problem and the house that’s been slowly killing us for 3 years,” Spelling wrote. “My kids are so sick and can’t get well and our family needs help.”
Earlier this month, Spelling shared photos on Instagram of herself with at least four of her children at an urgent care clinic.
Spelling said in the caption that she was prompted to look for answers after her kids were in what she described as a monthslong “continual spiral of sickness.”
“Used to think… well that’s what happens when you have young kids in school. They just continually bring sicknesses home,” Spelling wrote. “But, when it gets to the point where they are at home sick more than being in school we had to reassess what was going on.”
Spelling wrote that among the symptoms her children have experienced are skin rashes, extreme fatigue, dizziness, fevers and respiratory infections. Her five children range in age from 6 to around 16.
Spelling said a professional mold inspection company found “extreme mold” in the family’s home, which she said they had been renting.
“It’s hard to just uproot a huge family especially in midst of all feeling so sick and in bed,” she wrote. “But, we now will vacate the home asap.”
The slice-of-life video follows Chris around his home and in his truck, and spotlights romantic moments shared with his wife, Kelly Lynn.
“The music video for ‘All I Need Is You’ was an easy and fun video to make. My drummer was the videographer, and we just filmed my every day life, basically,” says Chris. “It’s one of my personal favorites.”
“All I Need Is You” is Chris’ current single on country radio. Of the track, he shares, “There are so many things we all want. We’ve all gotten caught up in the biggest buck of the season, the newest Chevrolet, or whatever’s caught our eye — and that’s half the fun of living.”
“But when you strip it back, when you look at what really matters, it comes down to that one ride-or-die person who believes in you and your dream, no matter what happens,” he adds. “I’m blessed because my person is my wife, my manager, and my best friend.”

Keanu Reeves‘ John Wick movie series, which kicked off in 2014 with a modestly budgeted revenge film about a dude avenging his murdered puppy, has officially become a billion-dollar franchise.
The series’ biggest earner, John Wick: Chapter 4, is still hanging tough on the Domestic Top Ten box office charts, and receipts — counting both domestic and overseas — just pushed the franchise over the billion-dollar mark.
To date, the fourth film has made nearly $425,843,000 in theaters worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
While the movie’s climax showed Reeves’ titular assassin was finally “at peace,” the movie’s strong box office opening and continued legs have reportedly made Lionsgate reconsider sending Baba Yaga to his grave.
Until then, there’s also a spinoff movie called Ballerina, starring Oscar nominee Ana de Armas, due out next summer and a small-screen prequel show, The Continental, debuting on Peacock in September.
Queen is back with the latest installment of their weekly YouTube series Queen The Greatest Live. In this week’s episode, “Opening Magic,” they revisit their legendary July 1986 concert in Budapest, which came as part of their Magic Tour.
Specifically, the Budapest show is held up as an example of how Queen were masters at staging an exciting, energy-filled opening to their concerts. At this one, they started with “One Vision,” then went right into “Tie Your Mother Down.” You can see performances of both those songs in this new episode.
The Magic Tour was notable for the fact that Queen completely revamped their set list and added the most elaborate lighting setup they’d ever used; the entire tour was their most expensive production overall.
At the time of the tour, drummer Roger Taylor said, “I think we’re probably the best live band in the world at the moment, and we’re going to prove it. No one who comes to see us will be disappointed.”
If you’re wondering, J. Cole‘s The Fall Off album is still in the works. He confirmed the news on Summer Walker‘s latest EP, where he appeared on the intro “To Summer, From Cole,” an “audio hug” for the R&B singer.
“I’m thinkin’ about ya, I heard you just had you another lil baby/ Congratulations, I hope you got through it with no complications,” he raps. “I find it amazing, the way that you juggle your kids, the biz, the fame, the b****** that’s hatin’/ They sit around waiting for you to fall off like the album I’m making.”
Cole announced The Fall Off in 2018 and has sporadically teased fans with updates. He spoke to Slam Magazine in 2021 about the origin of the project and its name.
“Oh, bro, I’m super comfortable with the potential of being done with this s***,” he said. “But I’m never going to say, ‘Oh, this is my last album.’ … Because I never know how I’m going to feel two years, three years, four years down the line, 10 years down the line, but please believe, I’m doing all this work for a reason.”
He added, “First it was the thought and the feeling, and I was looking for a phrase to sum that up. That was the birth of it. I found the phrase in 2016, actually, early 2016 when I was working on 4 Your Eyez Only. I found a phrase, I did the hook to the song and I was like, ‘Oh, this is the phrase that sums up this whole chapter for me.’ And that’s when I started working on The Fall Off.”
Summer’s EP, titled Clear 2: Soft Life, is the sequel to 2019’s Clear. She tapped Childish Gambino, Solange, Steve Lacy and John Kirby for the project.
(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) — Louisville, Kentucky police are searching for a convicted felon who escaped police custody on Thursday and then briefly kidnapped two people, forcing them to drive him away.
A Kentucky deputy jailer was transporting Norman Wolfe, 31, when he kicked out the back window of an unmarked police vehicle and jumped onto Interstate 265 on Thursday, according to police.
Once he escaped the vehicle, Wolfe began running across several lanes of traffic on I-265, wearing orange clothing, according to police.
Upon further investigation, police learned that the inmate kidnapped two victims and forced them to drive him to River Road and Edith Avenue shortly after his escape.
Both victims were found unharmed, according to police.
As of Friday morning, Wolfe was still on the run, according to police. Area businesses and schools have been advised to take precautions as the search continues.
“LMPD’s Investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous Crime Tip Hotline at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or utilize the online Crime Tip portal at LMPD Crime Tip Portal,” Louisville police said in a statement.
Prior to his escape, Wolfe was facing new charges of first- and third-degree burglary; fleeing and evading police; and a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Anyone who sees Wolfe is advised to not approach him and call 911.
(NEW YORK) — An advisory committee for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration voted in favor of drugmaker Pfizer’s application for a new RSV vaccine for pregnant people Thursday, two weeks after the federal agency approved the first RSV vaccine for older adults.
The move is part of a multi-step regulatory process involving both the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The FDA would need to make an approval decision next, which is expected in late August. Pfizer is hoping for an approval by early August, but after the FDA approves a vaccine, the CDC would also need its advisers to weigh in before the agency makes its final decision too.
Vaccine approval is being closely watched ahead of the winter RSV season, which typically surges between December and February.
A new study published last month in the New England Journal of Medicine has shown encouraging data that supports the case for an RSV vaccine during pregnancy. The study data was gathered from a phase three clinical trial with pregnant participants in over 18 countries and showed that when the RSV vaccine is given between 24 and 36 weeks gestation, it appeared immunity passed to the fetus through the placenta. The results also showed the vaccine was effective at preventing severe lower respiratory tract infection and reducing hospitalization.
If approved, the RSV vaccine could be given to those who are pregnant, much like other vaccines available now, including those for Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis), the flu and COVID-19.
According to the CDC, infants and young children, like older adults, are at high risk for RSV, which sends approximately 58,000 to 80,000 children in the U.S. to the hospital each year.
An RSV vaccine for children is also currently in the works.
