Lil Yachty reflects on relationships with late rappers XXXTentacion, Juice Wrld and Mac Miller

Lil Yachty was a fan of some of the fallen soldiers in hip-hop, including Juice Wrld and XXXTentacion, who he said was the best rapper from his era.

“I wish X was still here,” Yachty said during an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast. “I really wish he was still here. He was so talented. Him, Juice.”

While he and Juice collaborated a few times, even completing a whole project together, his bond with X was strengthened through conversations.

“Me and X were super close. We only had one song together but we were super tight. We were always on the phone. I used to talk to him when he was in jail before he got out,” Yachty recalls.

“It was a really sad case,” he adds of X’s 2018 death, in which the rapper was robbed and fatally shot as he left a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. “I think X was the most talented of them all, of us all, in my opinion. I think he was just ahead of himself.”

Yachty then gave a shoutout to the late Mac Miller, who he referred to as “the real GOAT.”

“Right before he died, he wanted me to come on tour with him. Then he passed away,” he said of Mac. “He was a really nice guy.”

He added that Mac was “really talented, really nice [and] really f****** sick.”

Mac and Juice both died from accidental overdoses. Mac passed away on Nov. 5, 2018, and Juice died on Dec. 8, 2019.

‘Legally Blonde’ prequel series ‘Elle’ gets premiere date, season 2 renewal

The Legally Blonde prequel series Elle is set to premiere on Prime Video on July 1. Additionally, the streaming service has ordered a second season of the show months ahead of its first season’s debut.

Season 1 of Elle follows the character Elle Woods, who was originated by Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 film, as she takes on high school.

Lexi Minetree stars as a young Elle Woods in the upcoming series. The prequel follows Elle as “we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love,” according to Prime Video.

“Twenty-five years after the world met Elle Woods for the first time, it’s a dream come true to share the story of how she became the unstoppable force we all fell in love with,” Witherspoon said in a statement. “Discovering Lexi Minetree and watching her step into Elle’s fabulous shoes has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career.”

Witherspoon continued, saying she believes the show’s themes “of kindness, authenticity, and believing in yourself will resonate deeply with fans of the original films and new audiences alike.”

“Working with our incredible Hello Sunshine team, Amazon and our visionary writers and directors to bring Elle’s high school journey to life has been a tremendous joy. I can’t wait to share Season One with the world and start rolling cameras on Season Two!” Witherspoon said.

Laura Kittrell created the series, which she co-showruns and executive produces with Caroline Dries. Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Marc Platt and Amanda Brown also executive produce. Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore helmed the first two episodes of season 1 and also executive produces.

Also starring in season 1 are June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mother, Eva, and Tom Everett Scott as her father, Wyatt. Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney and Zac Looker make up the rest of the main cast.

We are getting our first look at the upcoming documentary about legendary musician Billy Preston.

A trailer for Billy Preston: That’s The Way God Planned It has just been released, featuring archival footage of Preston performing, including clips of him with The Beatles.

Ringo Starr says of Preston in the trailer, “He was so great, he never put his hands in the wrong place.”

The film is directed by Emmy winner Paris Barclay. It will give fans insight into the six-decade career of the legendary singer and keyboardist, as well as the struggles he faced in his life.

Preston was known for such hits as “Nothing From Nothing,” “Will It Go Round in Circles” and “Space Race.” He also co-wrote and recorded the classic “You Are So Beautiful,” which became a hit for Joe Cocker. Preston appeared on The Beatles’ Let It Be and Abbey Road albums, and he joined them for their legendary Rooftop concert, which was The Beatles’ last live performance.

Billy Preston: That’s The Way God Planned It is set to open Feb. 20 at the Film Forum in New York City, with plans to release it in select theaters in North America sometime in 2026.

Netflix shares first look at ‘Beef’ season 2

Netflix has shared its first look at the second season of Beef.

The popular Emmy-winning anthology series from A24 and creator Lee Sung Jin arrives to the streaming service on April 16, and the first photos from the season arrived on Wednesday.

This season features a brand-new story with a completely different cast of characters. Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny star in season 2. The indecent that sparks the new “beef” is a Gen-Z couple witnessing an alarming fight between their millennial boss and his wife.

“Newly-engaged Ashley Miller (Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Melton), both lower-level staff at a country club, become entangled in the unraveling marriage of their General Manager, Joshua Martín (Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín (Mulligan),” according to its official synopsis. “Through favors and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh Jung), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang Ho).”

The cast also includes Seoyeon Jang as Eunice, William Fichtner as Troy, Mikaela Hoover as Ava and the musician BM in his acting debut as Woosh.

There will be eight 30-minute episodes in season 2. Lee returns as its creator, showrunner and executive producer. The first season’s stars, Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, also return to executive produce season 2, joined by Mulligan, Isaac, Melton and Spaeny as executive producers.

Season 1 of Beef won eight Emmy Awards, including limited or anthology series, lead actor in a limited or anthology series for Yeun and lead actress in a limited or anthology series for Wong.

Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Alabama & more sing ‘The Last Duet’ with Dan Seals

Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Alabama, Tanya Tucker, Sara Evans and Jamey Johnson all sing on the posthumous Dan Seals & Friends: The Last Duet tribute album, which comes out Aug. 28.

Blake performs “Big Wheels in the Moonlight,” while Tanya tackles “Bop.” Luke’s version of “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)” and Sara’s “Nights Are Forever Without You” both serve as early previews of the record, which was produced by Seals’ collaborator Kyle Lehning.

“Dan was always true: as a singer, as an artist and as a man,” he told Billboard. “Seeing the way all of these artists responded when they had Dan’s voice in their ears shows how that warm truth in his voice still touches people in the best way.”

The 16-track record also reteams Seals’ voice with his two most successful duet partners from his lifetime.

Marie Osmond joins him on “You Still Move Me,” reviving their collaboration from their classic “Meet Me in Montana.”

It also features the 50th anniversary edition of England Dan & John Ford Coley‘s pop smash, “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight,” pairing Coley’s new vocals with Seals’ 1995 rerecording.

The S.E.T., featuring ex-Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert, releases debut single

Former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has released his debut single with his new band, The S.E.T.

The track is called “T.M.T.” and is accompanied by a video on YouTube. It will also appear on The S.E.T.’s upcoming debut EP, Self Evident Truth, due out March 6.

“In the Declaration of Independence the two self evident truths were that all people are created equal, and that everyone has the right to pursue happiness,” Ebert says in a press release. “Unfortunately, the powers that be have forgotten that and are trying to deny us normal working class citizens those truths, and we can’t let that happen.”

You can catch The S.E.T. live playing a show in their hometown of Baltimore on Jan. 31.

Ebert parted ways with Turnstile in 2022 following the release of their 2021 album, GLOW ON. Guitarist Meg Mills then joined the band.

Turnstile released their latest album, NEVER ENOUGH, in 2025.

‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ season 4 gets teaser trailer, release date

Come ye saints, come ye sinners … to watch The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 4 teaser trailer.

Along with the new teaser, Hulu has announced that the upcoming fourth season is set to debut all 10 of its episodes on March 12.

This new season of the show finds the women of #MomTok more famous than ever. It follows Taylor Frankie Paul as she is announced to star as the lead in a new season of The Bachelorette. It also takes place during the same time that Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt were competing against each other on Dancing with the Stars.

That competition “creates chaos, temptations arise, and tradition turns upside down,” according to the official season 4 synopsis. “Up against unraveling marriages, personal demons and family secrets — they must choose to lean on each other or face their fates untethered and alone on the world’s stage. Will the women remain loyal to their sisterhood to save it? Or will #MomTok shatter forever?”

The 30-second teaser finds Paul crying into her phone. “I hate all of you, because you all knew. Goodbye,” Paul says as she hangs up the phone.

The teaser ends with a bang. Jessi Draper, while dressed up like a Playboy bunny, asks, “Is she gonna be a pregnant Bachelorette?”

In addition to Paul, Affleck, Leavitt and Draper, season 4 stars Demi Engemann, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Miranda Hope.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives posted the new teaser to its social media on Wednesday, where several members of #MomTok shared their reactions.

“I’m scuuuuurrred for once,” Paul commented alongside an eyes emoji, while Hope wrote, “i feel like i cried a lot this season…can’t wait to watch!”

Travis Scott reflects on 2021 Astroworld tragedy: ‘A time that was supposed to be so enjoyable just went wrong’

It’s been more than four years since the devastation of Travis Scott‘s Astroworld festival, in which a stampede of concertgoers killed 10 people and injured many others. But it’s something that’s always on his mind.

In his cover story for Rolling Stone, Travis says his goal had been to orchestrate a fun event for his hometown of Houston.

“When I did that festival, I was trying to bring something to where I’m from, and when you look back, it’s like a time that was supposed to be so enjoyable just went wrong,” he says. “I would love to heal that in the city. But I would also want people to be receptive [to it]. I don’t want to force a reception.”

Though the experience showed him “there’s a distorted view of who I am and what I care about,” Travis says he has nothing to say to those who believe he’s responsible for the tragedy.

“I wouldn’t tell them anything. I would ask them,” he says. “Sometimes when I read or even hear about some of the s*** that people write, I don’t even know if they believe it.”

“I think there’s always been this distorted view of what I am,” he tells Rolling Stone. “And it’s my responsibility just to keep showing what it really is.”

Travis plans to do exactly that on the follow-up to 2023’s Utopia. “Putting my whole body and soul into the next [project], for more people to understand,” he says.

He clarifies that he’s specifically referring to those who “still don’t understand Trav no matter how long I’ve been in this s***.”

Sleep Token, Turnstile, Wet Leg & more nominated for 2026 BRITs

The nominations for the 2026 BRIT Awards, the British equivalent of the Grammys, have been announced.

Sleep Token and Wet Leg are up for the group of the year prize alongside Wolf Alice, The Last Dinner Party and Pulp. Turnstile will compete in the international group of the year category alongside Tame Impala, HAIM, Geese and HUNTER/X.

The nominees in the alternative/rock act category are Wet Leg, Wolf Alice, Lola Young, Sam Fender and Blood Orange. Young received a total of five nominations, tied for most for any artist in 2026, and is also up for artist of the year, song of the year with “Messy,” breakthrough artist and pop act.

Other nominees include Wolf Alice’s The Clearing and Fender’s People Watching for album of the year; Fender for artist of the year and song of the year with Olivia Dean for their collaboration “Rein Me In”; sombr for international artist of the year and international song of the year with “undressed”; Myles Smith‘s “Nice to Meet You” for song of the year; and Gigi Perez‘s “Sailor Song” for international song of the year.

The 2026 BRIT Awards take place Feb. 28.

The music of Neil Young to be celebrated at Americanafest pre-Grammy concert

The music of Neil Young will be celebrated at a concert in Los Angeles ahead of the Grammy Awards.

The Americanafest Pre-Grammy Salute to the Songs of Neil Young, put on by the Americana Music Association and the Americana Music Foundation, will be held Jan. 31 at the Troubadour and will feature a lineup of artists performing songs from Young’s catalog. Artists participating this year include Margo Price, Rhiannon Giddens, Molly Tuttle, Maggie Rose, Sierra Hull, I’m With Here, Jesse Welles and Young the Giant.

“We are proud to continue our longstanding pre-Grammy salute tradition, and I can’t wait to see our extraordinary performers honor Neil and his incredible songs,” said Jed Hilly, executive director of the Americana Music Association. “Our organization prides itself on community. We hope this evening helps bring everyone together, as we pay it forward with a donation to MusiCares and their charitable efforts.”

Last year, the Americanafest Pre-Grammy Salute concert celebrated the music of John Haitt. Previous concerts honored the works of Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, John Prine, Loretta Lynn and others.

The concert raises money for the Americana Music Association and Americana Music Foundation, plus a portion of the night’s proceeds will benefit the Recording Academy’s charitable initiative, MusiCares.
