(NEW YORK) — Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodriguez announced on Sunday that the country’s first shipment of liquefied petroleum gas had been exported.

The announcement in a post on her Telegram channel on Sunday comes almost a month after President Donald Trump ordered a military operation that led to the capture of Venezuela’s former President Nicolas Maduro, who now faces federal charges in the U.S.

Rodriguez, Maduro’s former vice president, was sworn in as the interim president after his capture in January.

Rodriguez said the ship, the Chrysopigi Lady, had set sail from Venezuela “with the first shipment of Liquefied Petroleum Gas,” in a post, originally in Spanish.

The Singapore-flagged Chrysopigi Lady left from a port in northern Venezuela on the evening of Feb. 1 and is set to arrive in Providence, Rhode Island, according to marinetraffic.com.

“Proud to share this moment: the vessel Chrysopigi Lady has set sail from Venezuela with the first shipment of Liquefied Petroleum Gas,” Rodriguez said in the post. “We are marking this historic milestone by exporting the country’s first molecule of gas; an achievement for the well-being of the people of Venezuela.”

Rodriguez faces key tests in the weeks ahead. Since becoming the country’s de facto leader, she has struggled with her new twin responsibilities of maintaining order at home and managing diplomatic relations with the United States who conducted a military operation on her country’s soil weeks ago.

Last week, Rodriguez appeared to struggle publicly with the appropriate tone to both satisfy Washington and assert Venezuela’s independence.

Rodriguez said Venezuela has “opened a space for political dialogue,” but warned “those who seek to perpetuate harm and aggression against the people of Venezuela should stay in Washington,” in public comments during a ceremony recognizing her as Venezuela’s Commander-in-Chief in Caracas on Jan. 28.

Rodriguez also said “no one” in Venezuela surrendered during the military operation on Jan. 3. “That is why I say honor and glory to the heroes and heroines of January 3, 2026,” she said during the ceremony on Jan. 28.

About 100 people overall were killed during the U.S. military operation on Jan. 3, Venezuela’s interior minister, Diosdado Cabello, said on Jan. 8, according to Reuters. Out of the 100, 32 Cuban security officials were killed during the attack, the Cuban government confirmed on Jan. 4.

The biggest night in music took place on Sunday, as the 2026 Grammy Awards were hosted for the sixth time by Trevor Noah at the Crypto.com Arena in LA. This marked the last year CBS will air the awards ceremony, as it moves to ABC in 2027.

Bad Bunny won the top award of the evening, taking home the album of the year prize for Debí Tirar Más Fotos. Harry Styles presented him with the award after he made history as the first Spanish-language album of the year winner.

“I want to dedicate this award to all the people that had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams,” he said in his acceptance speech.

Bad Bunny also won the Grammy for best música urbana album. As soon as he took to the stage to accept that award, he said, “ICE OUT. We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we are humans and we are Americans.”

The Debí Tirar Más Fotos musician continued, saying, “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”

The Recording Academy spread the love this year, with awards going to many different artists during the ceremony. Lady Gaga won best pop vocal album for Mayhem, while Lola Young pulled off an upset and took home the award for best pop solo performance for her song “Messy.” Young was so shocked that she ran onstage without having prepared a speech, and accidentally cursed on mic as she accepted her award.

Meanwhile, Billie Eilish won song of the year for her track “Wildflower” from the album Hit Me Hard and Soft. She took to the stage with her brother and collaborator FINNEAS, where she said in her acceptance speech, “No one is illegal on stolen land.”

Record of the year went to “luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA. Cher presented the award, mistakenly saying that it was won by Luther Vandross. When Lamar took the stage to accept the award, he made sure to thank Vandross. Earlier in the night Lamar also walked away with a win for best rap album for GNX.

As for performances, Bruno Mars started off the evening singing his nominated hit song “APT.” with ROSÉ. Later on in the show, he also performed his new smash hit “I Just Might.”

Despite going home empty-handed, Sabrina Carpenter gave an entertaining performance of her nominated song “Manchild.” Dressed as a pilot, she performed on a set that resembled an airport, with a full-size plane and all. “No one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish said.

Young took home best pop solo performance for “Messy.”

“I don’t have any speech prepared,” a surprised Young said as she took the stage. “Obviously I don’t, it’s messy, do you know what I mean?”

The late Ozzy Osbourne was celebrated with a musical tribute at the 2026 Grammy Awards Sunday night.

During the in memoriam portion of the evening, Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and producer Andrew Watt teamed up to perform the Black Sabbath classic “War Pigs,” with music star Post Malone handling the vocals.

Many of these artists had a connection to Ozzy, with Guns N’ Roses and Smith playing 2025’s Back to the Beginning concert, which took place two weeks before Ozzy’s death and marked his final live concert.

Watt produced Ozzy’s final two solo albums, 2020’s Ordinary Man and 2022’s Patient Number 9. Slash, McKagan, Smith and Malone also contributed to those albums. Ozzy also performed alongside Malone at the 2019 American Music Awards.

The Ozzy tribute wasn’t Watt’s only Grammy performance. Earlier in the evening he joined Lady Gaga for her performance of “Abracadabra,” which featured former Foo Fighters and current Nine Inch Nails drummer Josh Freese.

The 2026 Grammy Awards took place Sunday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and aired on CBS. The 2027 Grammy Awards will air on ABC.
